In my earlier memoir, The Actor Who..., I traversed the surface of my life and times as an actor to share entertaining insights with a smatter of pathos; in Double-Dutch Life, I go deeper, to recount relational and professional struggles as a young performing artist plagued by psychiatric issues, hoping to offer insight and comfort to others in life's challenges.

Finally, Brendan's books are not meant to be preachy, but most volumes come around to the subject of God sooner or later; as C.S. Lewis wrote, 'I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.'
And my reason for writing is like Gregory McDonald's, "Writing is not a profession, occupation or job; it is not a way of life: it is a comprehensive response to life."

Brendan Shea’s Double Dutch Life is a nostalgic, sentimental, at times painfully-honest rollercoaster of experiences following one man’s journey through life. He travels, does acting in New York City, encounters many interesting characters, experiences romance, loss, illness, and struggles. A gripping read that takes us on a spiritual journey leading to peace and redemption.
