Nine years ago, mercenary Kane Rogan and photojournalist Siobhan Walsh risked their lives to rescue Hestia Juarez, a thirteen-year-old girl being forced to marry a much older man to expand her father’s crime family. Her enraged father has never forgotten.

Now, Kane and Siobhan are finally getting married. They only invited a few people—including FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid and her husband Sean Rogan—to celebrate. When Sean and Kane go missing the day before the wedding, Lucy must put her fear aside and work the case. Because someone believes that Siobhan knows where Hestia is … and will do anything or kill anyone to make her tell the truth.

the setup…
FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid and her husband Sean Rogan are in Hildago, Texas because his brother Kane is finally marrying his fiancée Siobhan Walsh. In typical Kane style, the ceremony is last minute, the only other guest is Siobhan’s sister Andie and it's taking place at the RCK ranch. But while Lucy and Siobhan are picking up Andie from the airport, Sean and Kane come under attack from an old enemy who’s resurfaced after nine years. By the time, Lucy reaches the ranch, they’ve disappeared but there’s evidence Sean and Kane didn’t go easily.

the heart of the story…
For a short story, this had all the elements that I’d expect to find in a full-length novel. The pace is almost breathtaking and Lucy brings the full force of the FBI and local law enforcement into Hildago as Kane’s relationships within that community are far and high. But it’s Lucy who assembles the clues that help identify the abductors and trace their paths to figure out how to save Kane and Sean. Of course, those two aren’t waiting to be saved either and their escape efforts reflected just how connected these brothers are when things get dangerous. It was exciting to follow the procedurals as they unfolded fast and furiously. Andie Walsh is a Marine lieutenant colonel so she’s no slouch either, partnering with Lucy to bring added brainpower to the search.

the narration…
Lee is definitely my voice for the series and she’s at her best when there’s this much tension and suspense. She made this even more exciting.

the bottom line…
I inhaled this story in one sitting, forgoing other plans until I reached the end. It just didn’t feel like a novella as the character development, plotting and storytelling was so rich. I loved everything about it from start to finish.

No Way Out: Lucy Kincaid and her husband, Sean Rogan, are staying in Hildalgo, Texas, to attend the wedding of Sean's brother, Kane. But the day before the wedding, Sean and Kane are missing. It is apparent that several trucks have broken through the ranch's security where a fight took place. Kane's fiancé, Siobhan Walsh, receives a phone call from Mexican Drug Lord Felipe Juarez. Lucy and Siobhan learn that Kane was taken in retaliation for freeing Juarez's thirteen-year-old daughter from an arranged marriage several years ago. Lucy has limited time to find Sean and Kane before it's too late.

Another outstanding novella in the Lucy Kincaid series. This story is non-stop action. Loved it! My rating: 5 Stars.

This is a well written, entertaining, fast paced romantic suspense novella. I truly enjoyed Kane's story with its twists and turns and wonderful sense of family. It is a great addition to the Lucy Kincaid series, and is excellent as a stand alone novella, but even better when read in order. Ms. Brennan never disappoints her readers!

Update: I removed the duplicate paragraphs. I'm not sure what happened.

I can’t believe I am almost up to date with the Lucy Kincaid series. If you follow this series, you know that Lucy and Sean can’t get a break from work. In No Way Out, Kane Rogan will finally marry Siobhan Walsh. Lucy and Sean are the only family members that Kane invited to the small, intimate service they planned. An old nemesis of Siobhan’s disrupts their plans. Felipe Juarez is angry because Shoban rescued his thirteen-year-old daughter from an arranged marriage to an older man. He is looking for her to pay.

Wow, the action is non-stop from beginning to end. No Way Out is a novella, but there is no paring back of the story. I love that Brennan has packed this novella that reads more like a full-length novel. I’m sad that this series is nearing the end. I love these characters.

I listened to most of the books in this series. I don’t regret that decision. Ann Marie Lee continues to narrate. She does an excellent job bringing the story to life. I’m grateful that the narrator is consistent from the first book. She is Lucy Kincaid, et. al.

Not a fan of novellas, but this one was spot on! Lots of action and a good story line!

From the blurb: Nine years ago, mercenary Kane Rogan and photojournalist Siobhan Walsh risked their lives to rescue Hestia Juarez, a thirteen-year-old girl being forced to marry a much older man to expand her father’s crime family. Her enraged father has never forgotten.

Allion Brennan writes an awesome novella, not just this one but all of them. She knows how to craft a truly great story in a limited number of pages, and it is nothing short of spectacular.

Former mercenary Kane Rogan and photojournalist Siobhan Walsh are getting married. I never thought the big guy would take the plunge, but love can make a man do things he would rather not do. Kane wanted to keep it really small and simple, he doesn't like crowds, so only Sean and Lucy and Siobhan's sister are invited. Everything is on track until . . . it isn't and then all heck breaks loose. When Sean and Kane disappear the day before the wedding, Lucy and Siobhan have no idea what is going on. A phone call tells Siobhan this is all revenge for something she and Kane did nine years ago. Now Lucy must use every resource she has to save Sean and Kane and prevent the loss of innocent lives.

Lucy and Sean always seem to get into one thing or another. I’m glad Kane finally got his woman. Just another reason why I love this author so much. Whether she’s writing a short story or a full length novel it’s always full of action, family and love.

I find it funny how these little trips that Lucy and Sean take always end up in chaos. This time around what should have been a fun trip to see Kane and Siobhan and be there for their wedding quickly goes crazy. Siobhan's past of helping someone comes back to hurt them. I like how Lucy was able to keep the women calm, all the while doing what she could to figure out what was going on. Kane and Sean were doing their best to do what they could in the situation they were in. I liked they pretty much didn't need much help. The ending to this one was hard fought, but deserving for Kane and Siobhan.

I enjoy all of Ms. Brennan's books but this series is my favorite. I love that we get novellas in between to novels so we can stay in touch with this great cast of characters. This novella has Sean and Lucy visiting Kane Rogan, Sean's brother, and Siobhan Walsh, Kane's fiance, to stand up for them at their wedding. Kane and Sean are kidnapped by a Mexican drug lord because they freed his daughter before she entered an arranged marriage. Lucy has a short period of time to find and save them. Of course, Kane and Sean are going to try to save themselves. A gripping novella that just makes me want more.

Short, exciting read

In this novella, Kane is planning a wedding with Siobhan, but drug lord Juarez has other plans. Sean and Kane are kidnapped and Lucy has to call out all the reinforcements she knows to try to save them from the ruthless killer.

Action packed goodness

An action packed and emotional novella in the Lucy Kincaid series. I think Lucy and Sean are a great couple so I love seeing them together (or working towards helping the other in this case), but I was thrilled when this story included Jack and Kade. They are two of my favorites and they were true to form in this book!

The story is full of action and suspense as everyone tries to tie together what took place and why. As the pieces start to come together we see family dynamics at play, emotions running high and great law enforcement work. The relationship between Sean and his brothers has always been fascinating and this book delved into it when they were captured. A few other notable characters showed up in this novella and it s great to see them and remember their stories and actions.

I love this series and please the others that include the Kincaids, Rogans and FBI teams! Can’t wait for the next one!

This is number 16.5 book/novella in the Lucy Kincaid series. It is very action packed. You will buzz right through it. Sean and Lucy are to witness Kane and Siobhan’s wedding. No one else is invited. Kane just wants it done and done quickly. One small problem, Kane and Sean are kidnapped. Kane and Siobhan rescued Hestia Juarez, a cartel leaders daughter from being sold off to merge two crime families together years ago. Juarez is back, and wants his daughter.

Lucy and the locals have less than twelve hours to find and rescue Kane and Sean. Jack shows up, Padre is working a few angles, Rick in California is working this too. Once you finish you will literally say: PHEW!

Thank you for the Gifted Book Macmillan Audio and Minotaur Books.

Not having read a book in the Lucy Kincaid series before I was slightly concerned about jumping in with book 16.5, but these books are written in such a way that you can tell that reading the previous books would add to your reading experience, but not having read those previous titles doesn't take away from it.

No Way Out is a novella about missing people, a battle with a drug lord, and what love and family really mean. I love that I started with this book as it was a perfect taste of this world and the people in it.

Another Amazing Adventure…

Nothing is ever simple for the Kincaid and Rogan clan. Kane, battle tried Marine and mercenary, has decided to settle down with the lovely Siobhan and the day of their wedding proves to be anything but normal.
Rarely does the past stay in the past and an ill conceived plan to rescue a 13 year old, Hestia, from an arranged marriage designed to combine two powerful crime families. Juarez lost credibility when his daughter did not walk down the aisle and he has finally decided to seek his revenge.

This was a novella, that they did not have in my library but I was able to download onto my kindle. It is hard to keep up with all the Lucy Kincaid books, but I love the characters so much that I hate to miss any of them. This took me two days to read and was an engaging story that brought back events from 9 years ago. I like how the author ties in old story lines. Enjoyed it just as much as her other books!

Another Good Read

I am addicted to the Lucy Kincaid series as well as any of the other books about the Rogan-Kincaid books. It takes a really good author to keep readers totally enthralled in a series like this. If you haven’t read the other books, it’s ok because each book is an excellent stand-alone, but as a series they’re amazing. You’ll love the characters and hate the villains and when you reach the end you won’t be able to wait for the next one.

Life Challenge, Love

Outstanding novella! I have long waited for Kane to be united with his lady. However, Sean and Kane had to face a life or death complication to get back to the women they love. Outstanding read for followers of Lucy Kincaid and I am excited for the next novel.

Kane's getting married but things don't go according to plan.... Sean and Kane are kidnapped and Lucy saves the day....

I read the book last year. The plot goes back to something that Kane did years ago and it's coming back to bite him. It's short but also shows how Kane and Sean are not infallible.

Past coming back

Well Kane's past came back and is biting him in the butt. A nice small wedding turns into a nightmare. Good thing everyone is trained to handle this bad situation. The synapses at the end really makes me what the next book out now.

No Way Out =Awesome

I love the Lucy Kinkaid series. I enjoyed reading this novella. I love the ending and the beginning. Kane's tying the knot. But the Rogan's never do things the easy way and things have a habit of coming around to bite you in the butt.

Best books ever.

As with all the other Lucy Kincaid novels in this series, Allison has maintained her amazing talent to provide the reader with "edge of your seat" suspense as well as a genuine connection with her characters. I love these books and can't wait for the next one.

Good Lucy Kincaid and friends fix

Pretty short, but worked well in the overall story arc of Lucy, Sean and Kanes’s story. Idealists are necessary both in real and book life, but their single mindedness is annoying in either sphere.

Full of suspense!!

This was a great short story. Although once you got into it, the suspense made it seem like a very long book! Allison Brennan is an expert at the protocol of the FBI and the police. I can hardly wait for her next book.

I really liked this book. This is the first one of the series I read, and I knew I was missing some
previous information, but it really didn't matter to this story line. I would read another one of her books. There was a lot of action and strong women lead characters.

I do love these books. Even for a novella it had a lot of nonstop action. It was a good one. The bad thing is, since it was a novella, it was over too quick. I did enjoy it and look forward to the next novel.
