She’s going to be my everything. My wife. The mother of my child. The reason I get my share of the billion-dollar inheritance.
The problem? It’s all FAKE. Sara took me by storm. Those big blue eyes and that petite waist. I’m the first man to claim her innocence. My brain goes out of the window when I touch her pure skin. Hiring her for the job was a bad idea. Because fake has turned into real.
And real is crazy as sh*t! My innocent little woman has a big dark secret. Is it too late for us to undo the mess that we’ve created?
It’s ok. A very fast read with lots of steamy parts but the relationship feels rushed, predictable, and lacking in romance. The heroine is not really one. She is a sad imitation of a “strong” woman but there is little about her that is strong and this becomes irritating. There are some nods to pretty woman in here but they too feel pathetic. Wish there was more substance.

In order to claim his inheritance, Chase Raven's father has decided he needs to fall in love, get married, and have a family. He "hires" his very sheltered, very innocent secretary Sara for the job.
I really enjoyed Marriage of Convenience, I thought the relationship between the two main characters developed organically and ended up being very sweet. My only regret is not reading this series sooner since it's no longer available on Amazon. (p.s. this was 🔥🔥🔥).
I am so glad I stuck with the book, lol. I'll be honest it was hard because I really didn't like Chase or his family, well maybe except Hunter, the first half of the book. I actually had to put my iPad down a few times to cool down but the second half is so worth it. There are some very steamy scenes which helped me to stay with it and I am glad I did. I am very interested to read the other brothers, especially Hunter. I am hoping I warm up to Kade... Because right now he is still an A@* HOLE, LOL.
Marriage of Convenience by Katy Kaylee is a wonderful and touching story of Chase and Sara filled with drama, fun, steamy scenes with a bit of action. a CEO and an Intern romance story, well written, great characters with plenty of steam, i cannot wait for HEA for the rest of Raven's Brother, well done!

I enjoyed watching Chase’s transformation in all areas of his life as a result of his being unable to resist his fake wife’s charms. A sweet romance with the right amount of steamy times.
Sara escaped an overly zealous religious home life, and equally controlling ex, to get to the big city and her dreams. She gets a fantastic internship at Chase's company. Chase's father has just given his three sons an ultimatum, find Ms. Right, get married and have children, in other words, time to settle down boys and get your heads out of your er… bottom ends. Chase spots Sara as his brother is making a play at her and decides to take her on as his assistant keeping her safe from him. He's intrigued by her as much as his brother, and is determined to keep her at arms length... I absolutely adored reading this book, and am hoping to be able to get more of this series. Katy has done an amazing job with this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy via Booksprout.
I enjoyed Chase and Sara's romance. They had really good chemistry that added plenty of sparks to this marriage of convenience story. I found the storyline very entertaining with an engaging blend of drama, heat, heart, twists and suspense. I found the dynamic between the brothers intriguing and I really liked their banter and interactions. I thought this was a very good read and I look forward to reading more from this series. This is my independant, impartial review.
Predictable and I didn't really like any of the characters. I found the brothers to be annoying and disrespectful in such a way that I almost DNFed. But it was a short read so I soldiered on. I didn't really feel the connection between the characters and he was so easily swayed into criticizing and condemning her without knowing that I just wanted to slap him.
I don't think I'll read the other brothers' books.
Overall I liked this book. Sara is new to the city and grew up in a very sheltered home. She is now trying to make it on her own. She ends up as an intern for Chase. After his father tells him he needs a wife she is asked to be his and they make a deal. Of course by the end they are in love for real. They did have to deal with a lot in the end but thankfully it all worked out.
Action packed, sexy, fun, engaging and emotional adventure filled with danger, suspense and undeniable passion... an edge of your seat read from beginning to end and so hard to put down. Really enjoyed the charters I got to know on this journey.

I had high hopes for this one that sadly it didn’t meet. There was so much going on in this book that made the story jump all over. I also didn’t feel the actual love between the hero and heroine which made it hard to buy into.
I enjoy this book from beginning to the end. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is strong. The storyline flowed smoothly from the beginning to the end.

Just.... So every single cliche of humans is here. The Heroine is so poor but so gorgeous she can't help it if literally every man she sees tries to hurt or take advantage of her and doesn't see how amazing she is underneath while she just tries to make it in the world. She does nothing strong or amazing however so I'm not sure what that underneath is everyone is missing but she just wishes people saw past her flawless, phenomenally gorgeous exterior. Emer cliche businessman who can't love, he is too busy but he has to marry for his inheritance. His brothers all have their own cliche. Hunter was the worst. He is a former Marine so you literally can't have his name mentioned without talking about how changed and damaged he is from war. So broken. So angsty. Every. Single. Time. His name comes up. When the heroine gets pregnant (which they are actively trying for) immediately the hero assumes the symptoms are a serious illness and neither of them can figure out why she is vomiting and fatigued. They are talking about pregnancy every day but can't draw that conclusion.
The book goes along with the regular perils but you think it's just a feel good, trope filled erotic fairy tale (with very pretty woman undertones) when boom.
Violent, painful forced miscarriage at hands of an abuser.
Out of left field, not the kind of trauma you'd ever expect in a book like this. And once it's done we are back to the sugary HEA you expected.

I really enjoyed this story so much. The characters, all of them, were so well created it was like people that you know. The story line might have been done many times before about a marriage of convince, to get an inheritance, to keep a child, to get a business, to merge a business/country/pack, but this one was so realistic and brought so many emotions with it, that it was truly fantastic! I have read most of Katy Kaylee's stories, but I have got to say that this is the best of them all! I am SOOOO looking forward to the rest of the brothers' stories! The dad isn't too old to find love again too!
Sara is a nineteen year old girl who was brought in in a strict household. I mean seriously sick strict When she physically developed a figure young, men started to look at her body and didn't really see her. She did well in school and got a scholarship to college. She wanted to be able to be a new person away from her controlling and strict parents and gets a boyfriend, Glenn, who wants to get married once they both graduate from college and they won't have sex until they get married. Well, they won't have sex together, so he is sleeping with her dorm roommate. Yeah, that doesn't make her feel good about herself. With the issues and problems with her boyfriend, her grades drop and she is about to lose her scholarship when one of her professors offers to get her an Internship with a big company in Manhattan. Yeah, her professor wanted favors in return for the internship, but that would be later. Sara just wanted to get away from her parents, away from her ex and away from her college. She gets the internship and finds a room to rent and starts at her new job. When she is shown around, one of the owners decides that he wants her for his intern so he can protect his brothers from poaching this young girl.
Chase is the oldest of four brothers and their father just did a one-eighty on them. As they were growing up, the father basically ignored his wife and sons because business comes first, second and third above all else. Their father realized after losing his wife, that there is more to life than business. He has seen how all of his sons have taken his business and grown it even more, but none of them have had a serious relationship because they are all married to the business like he was. He has now changed everything so that the only ones that will inherit the multi-billion business that includes hotels and resorts, night clubs, restaurants and golf and tennis clubs, is when they get married and have children. Chase handles the hotels and resorts, Alex handles the nightclubs, Kade handles the restaurants and Hunter handles security. When Chase meets Sara on her first day as she is given the tour of the business, he decides that he wants her to be his intern before Hunter sees her and they have a sexual impropriety issue. What Chase sees is a young college age girl with a body meant for sin. He wants to protect his brothers and company, then when he starts to see the real her, the smart, sweet, somehow innocent girl, he sees a solution to his problem. Yes, he is very attracted to her, more than any other women. So he offers her a solution to both his problem of needing a wife and child and her need for security.
Things take a turn when they start to fall for each other and her past comes back to haunt her. Her professor shows up to collect his dues and when threatened, he goes to the papers. When her ex comes around to 'save her' things get scary.

I don't like age gap romances, so I wasn't thrilled when I learned that Chase is 13 years older than Sara. What I really couldn't get over though is the fact that she's only 19. And he married her and started making a baby right away. That's just plain weird. What I do like are office romances, but I thought they knew each other for a while before he made that preposition. Instead, they met only a measly week before their wedding and he was full on lusting after her immediately. Too much.
Why was she so responsive, with her history, I wondered? She came across as way too naive. The frequent steamy scenes were repetitive and annoying after a while. The certainty that this would earn no more than two stars began manifesting itself at earlier than 50 % but I continued reading because I'm already behind on my reading challenge, it has been on my digital TBR for so long, it was a quick read and I was morbidly curious about the development of their relationship given Chase's initial behaviour.
Not that there was much of a development, he swung from "no feelings, can't have her want more" to "I want more, I think I'm falling for her" lightning fast. She loved him way too quickly as well. The climax with the bad guy went exactly as I knew it would. After, it got really sappy between Sara and Chase but I appreciated seeing his brothers and father support him so much.
Obviously her parents and ex are horrible, sick people, but I wonder how the equally horrible professor even got to their party to cause the mess he caused? That was never explained. There were also lots and lots of typos, misspelled and missing words. I'm glad I did not waste money on this.
At the end of the day I deem it not even worthy of two stars. The only good things about this were the sometimes funny bickering between Chase's brothers and the fact it was a quick read. Other than that, it was an extremely superficial story that left me completely indifferent. I don't recommend it to anyone, in fact, I don't understand the many great reviews and will be deleting this ebook immediately. Definitely not interested in the rest of the series.
Very moving and great story The story is excellent, full of twists, sometimes tragic, and the characters are just as fantastic. I was stuck to the story from the beginning to the end. I loved the character of Sara, who was strong enough not to give in to the perverts around her and who managed to get out of the psychological prison that her parents had built up with them, and even if she thinks that now she 's in a golden cage, she discovers and understands that it is possible to be protect by someone else, while leaving her freedom of choice and movement. I also loved the whole Chase family and I look forward to the rest of the series to see the evolution of the other brothers. Sara is a virgin girl who should have given herself only to her future husband because she received a strict religious education, but she discovered two-speed rules in her congregation and she wants to get out of this system. She starts working as an intern for Chase in a large company. He took her under as his intern, saying that one of his brothers would not jump on her, but he could not deny that it was the fact that someone wanted her that annoyed him. He does not want a child or a wife but he will have to find a solution with his brothers to be able to inherit the family business because their father has exactly these conditions there to succeed him. Also, their attraction taking over, he manages to convince Sara, that a contract between them could only help them. But Sara wants more than just money and she has to deal with a lot of things, be it Chase's complicated feelings, the aggression she's undergoing, and her difficult social change because she wants to stay herself, and having what she never had with her parents I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
When our father told my brothers and I his plan for the future of the company, we thought he gone insane. Telling us none of us will inherit anything unless we get married and have children.
Sarah never received any love from her parents growing up. She was blessed and cursed with a voluptuous body. They would make her wear baggy clothes and forced their religious ideas on her. Receiving a college scholarship was her way out of their house. Meeting Glenn in college was wonderful, considering she’d never had a boyfriend. Turns out he was a jerk, screwing her room mate and any other girl he could get. Constantly telling her that she needed to stay a virgin till they got married. Then she gets an offer for an internship with a prestigious company.
The moment that Chase meets the new intern, he decided that she would be working for him instead of any of his brothers. She is smart and beautiful. Now all he needs to do is control himself. Apparently she’s led a very sheltered life, so the idea to take her to one of his brother’s club and show her some of the New York nightlife, is genius. The thing is his control is gone when it comes to Sarah.
Two weeks later, and he gives her a proposition. He needs a wife and future children. Sarah is extremely attracted to Chase, but is this going to far. He says he’s never falling in love, that this is a marriage of convince. Just maybe, she can change his mind.
The book started out a bit unrealistic in their chemistry, it did get better half way thru and turned out much better than I expected. I will continue to read book number.
This is a great start to a new series - The Raven brothers. In this 1st story we get to meet Chase the oldest and one who thinks he is set to take over the family business. Chase and his 3 brothers grew up without love from his father and taught to fight against his brothers at all cost to become successful in the family business. One day after his mother has passed on his dad decides to flip their world and gives them a way to inherit their part of the family business - marry and have a child and see that there is more to life then business. Sara is a young college student who is from a loveless family who are extremely religious family who believe she should marry from their world and have children. Sarah is a beautiful woman who has had many experiences with men only seeing her as a sexual object and not seeing her for her and her ability to be a businesswoman. Sarah thought she had found the one until he showed her his true colors and she tries to love on with an internship at Chase’s family business. Once Chase meets Sara he has a protectiveness over her and even makes her his assistant and moves her into his office! Chase makes decisions and then they agree to a marriage of convenience and this get complicated and feelings get involved and others out to cause harm get involved. I enjoyed how Chase, his brothers and father all work together to get Sarah to safety and can not wait to see whose story is next! The billionaire and the wide-eyed intern in the sinful NYC
Marriage of Convenience is the first book in The Raven Brothers series by Katy Kaylee which is the story of four brothers. This story is about the oldest brother Chase and Sara. She has moved to NYC to intern for the Raven family business after dealing with her controlling parents and then her controlling boyfriend in college. Now she has the opportunity to live her own life and make her own decisions. Chase thinks he is going to take over when his father retires but instead his father tell him that there is a condition on the boys inheritances - they must each get married and have one child to be eligible. Chase looks for the easiest way around this and spots the new and young intern Sara. They strike a bargain that will benefit each of them. Then only problem is that once they are into this Chase becomes more and more attached to Sara and would like the situation to be real. However, her ex comes back into the picture and wants her back and to take her away from all of the sin of the city. (eye roll and sigh please!!!)
This story is fast-paced, fun, entertaining and nicely done by the author. The characters of Chase and Sara are both very likeable and are nicely written. The Raven family was nicely introduced in this first book so the next in the series of brothers books are set-up nicely. I look forward to reading the next in this series.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
ONE CAPTIVATING ADVENTURE!!! Wonderful! Katy unleashes one tantalizing knockout with all the feels, spills and frills, seizing the reigns and running the show, fusing this baby together piece by piece seamlessly. A raging tempest of surprising events and daunting circumstances, takes you on one wild ride. A whirlwind of events and activities that roll right into place without a single hitch, throwing this little fella into the eye of the storm, blasting it into a tailspin with an astonishing culmination. Add turmoil, undercurrents and perplexing situations along with a boatload of trouble, you have one thrilling adventure. Divvying out striking, well rounded scenario's, that punch dead center with such exuberance and style, testing our characters in ways they could have never anticipated. The attraction and chemistry sizzles from the pages, alluring and mesmerizing. The characters are authentic and realistic with qualities and traits, transforming into outstanding personalities. Blundering through the trials and tribulations, stunning twists, creative turns and crisp lines, blasting this little fella to life brilliantly. The scenes are abundantly detailed and descriptive it gives you a full understanding and realism that flows through smoothly. Remarkable job Katy, thanks for sharing this little fella with us.
I am a bit torn because on the one hand, I believe this book could have used a couple more pages or written as a duet, to truly play out the offer and all the events that followed.
So many things were happening in Sara's life and I don't believe we got the opportunity to truly explore them all. Especially the religious zealots who called themselves her parents.
But then, around the 80% mark, the story started to stall and I thought about skimming to the end.
There are many relationship dynamics in this novel but I do love the Raven brothers. Each one had their own personality and I was never confused or bored when they shared a space.
However, most things seemed like background noise to this whirlwind everything between Chase and Sara. At the end of the day, no true connections were formed, in my mind.
Don't get me wrong. It started well and I didn't want to put it down as I ate up chapter after chapter. The sex wasn't bad either. Though Chase's sex talk was a bit cringy at times.
All of them had their moments, to be honest. Sometimes the dialogue just seemed stupid and out of character for men their age.
Yes, it is that cliché and sappy romance novel but it wasn't that bad. As for continuing with the series, I won't say no but as of right now, I feel like maybe this could be the best instalment to come.
Sara is a girl who has always felt unloved and unappreciated. When she finally gets away from her horrible parents and going off to college, she manages to star dating someone just as controlling as her parents. After an opportunity comes into her life that would take her away from all of that, she takes the internship in New York City, thinking it will be a fresh start.
Chase is the oldest of 4 brothers. Thinking he's next in line to inherit the family business, his dad pulls the rug out from under him stating that each one must get married and have a child before they can inherit anything. After looking at the newest intern, Chase comes up with an idea to marry Sara, helping solve her money issue, thinking Sara would be happy to give him a baby with no strings attached. Problem is, he gets more attached each day and the thought of having Sara as his wife and having his child becomes more appealing each.
The issues really arise when Sara's ex comes back to get her and take her away from all the "sin" in the city. Will Chase be able to keep Sara safe and make her fall in love with him or is it all a big set of lies.
Seriously loved this book and finished it in a few hours!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sara grew up in a conservative religious household. She has no real experience with men when she started working for Chase Raven. Of course he overloaded her senses when he showed her what sex was all about, even though he was surprised when he realized she was a virgin.
That was our introduction to the characters. Once you keep reading you realize that Chase is the oldest of four brothers. Three of them take part in the family business and making money comes first. Their father who raised them this way suddenly has a change of heart and regrets they don’t have love. He regrets so much that even though he’s retiring he’s not leaving the company to them, only to their children. Now Chase has a dilemma, how does he find a wife quick who’s willing to give him a child before walking away?
I’m sure you can guess what happens next. This book was well rounded. It wasn’t just about sex, there was a connection built. The characters are pretty likable and somewhat relatable even if their situation is not. This story should keep you entertained and leave you smiling. It took about three hours so is a quick read and perfect for a cozy corner.

This is another AMAZING book by Katy Kaylee which is the story of Chase Raven, Who is over the hotel and resort division of Raven Industries, and Sara Shepherd, a Sophomore college student interning at his family business. Sparks fly when Chase and Sara first meet. With the intense attraction between this couple which results in Sara’s loss of her virginity, Chase decides to offer a marriage of convenience proposal to Her after his father informs him he must marry and have a child to obtain his inheritance and succeed him as CEO of Raven Industries. Chase wants a business deal only with Sara, but finds it to be difficult to keep since their relationship includes sexual activity to conceive a child. This sets up the plot of this book, but unexpected and suspenseful situations occur. I absolutely loved this book since it had great primary and secondary characters, an outstanding storyline, drama and suspense, steamy chemistry, and wonderful romance. I believe this is Katy Kaylee’s best novel and I would like to see the other Raven brothers get their own books. I strongly recommend this book as it is truly worthy of ten stars!!
