New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author, Pam Godwin, lives in the Midwest with her husband, cats, retired greyhounds, and an old, foul-mouthed parrot. She traveled the world for seven years, attended three universities, married the vocalist of her favorite rock band, and retired from her quantitative analyst career in 2014 to write full-time.

Her interests veer toward the unconventional: bourbon, full-body tattoos, and tragic villains. Equally peculiar are her aversions to sleeping, eating meat, and dolls with blinking eyes.

“Delivering pain is an expression of art.”

Pam Godwin is the queen of dark romances. No one does them better than her. The Deliver series is my favorite of all the dark romances series I've read. I was blown away by this book. It was deliciously dark, sexy, and even swoony at times. Tiago Badell is the best anti-hero I've read since Van, and that's quite the compliment.

Kate has the worst luck. After being captured (again) she's not sure where she is or who took her. Then she realizes who it is. Tiago Badell. Tiago is not a good man. Somehow, Kate finds a way to stay alive. With that, she and Tiago develop a bond of sorts. As dark as this was, there were so many parts that I laughed out loud. I loved Kate and Tiago.
He had but one explanation, which wasn’t an explanation at all. “You’re mine.” “Oh, for the love of caveman clichés.” Her mouth twisted into a snarl. “Just kill me already.”

This romance is not conventional. But it just might be my favorite of the series. I love when the villain of the story becomes the hero. Tiago wasn't a good guy, but he had so many redeeming qualities, and despite all his bad, I fell for him right along with Kate. For someone who was so hard, he really did have a soft heart in so many ways.
“Sometimes I do the right thing, but it’s usually by accident.”

Speaking of Kate, I absolutely loved her. She was so brave, strong, and driven. She and Tiago were the perfect pairing. We didn't get as many of the side characters as we usually do, but towards the end we got some and I loved that. I think some of the next few books are going to be epic. I'm really excited to read them!

I have to admit, I have been turned off of dark romance for sometime. I used to love them, and now I almost never read them. But for some reason, this series always gets me. I can't stop reading them. I love the twists, turns, the intensity, darkness and erotic nature. And also the way Pam weaves the words. I find myself always surprised and always falling for the characters.

I have no doubt that this will be my favorite dark romance of the year and I'm so glad I read it. I can't recommend the Deliver series enough to my dark romance lovers!! And if you need more convincing about Tiago... this quote. Sigh. My heart <3

I not so humbly consider myself a bit of a dark romance...connoisseur...these days.

I've been devouring it for many years now...To the point where my "tolerance," I guess you could call it, has gotten pretty high when it comes to a lot of elements of which dark romance is typically composed.

Many times, I have picked up a supposed dark romance, and...

description

Thought it was fairly frail.

But, thankfully, you can always count on Pam Godwin to bring the goods.

Her ability to take inherently evil characters, actions, and situations and make them fictionally redeemable is magical. Hell, half the time, the "villains" from previous come back as the heroes of future books.

Such was the case here with Tiago.

And I loved him.

His magnetism had me locked and loaded from the onset and the chemistry shared between him and Kate was page-scorching. I even liked Kate. It's hard to write the "strong" victim over and over again and have them not become interchangeable cardboard cutouts; but, as usual, Godwin manages to circumvent that pitfall like a champ.

I also really liked how she overlaid this story's narrative with that of the previous book in a way that didn't feel duplicative.

And, of course, I can't fucking WAIT for book nine. Because COLE.

If you don't like certain trigger content, i.e., captivity, rape, and physical and mental abuse, this probably isn't the book or series for you. Other than that, I can't recommend this book highly enough to dark romance fans, although I do recommend you read them in order.

”Damn you, Tiago. Nothing says I love you like handcuffing me to your dead body. This is sick and fucking twisted, even for you.”

🍕Tiago Badell 🍕

’If he had any human qualities left, he would get to know the stunning woman glaring at his back. He would date her, seduce her, and fuck her until neither of them could walk.
Instead, he was contemplating where to dump her body and how badly it would rot before her friends found it.’

i liked him. here’s why :

’Van was a reflection of himself. Scarred. Splintered. Heartless. There was a reason he never looked in a mirror.’

i liked Tiago. i liked him much more than Kate. not in love w/ him or anything like i felt for Van but i get his complicated & intense character. i liked him but not as daddy material, more in a platonic way (maybe in another life if i were a Kate i would be simping over him. in this one i’m an Amber through and through. so daddy Quiso for me)

🥦 Kate whats her name 🥦

’She trailed after him, her movements lissome and unintentionally seductive. She was surrounded by violent criminals, her future dark and nebulous, yet she held her shoulders back and spine straight.’

’A tear slipped from her eye, but she didn’t sob or beg for mercy. She simply glared, and in that single chilling look, he knew she was his perfect match.’

she’s kinda bland, her characters felt flat to me

🌶 Couple part one 🌶

”You’re mine.”
“Oh, for the love of caveman clichs.” Her mouth twisted into a snarl. “Just kill me already.”

sizzling chemistry, no?

”Don’t you get sick of looking at me?” She withdrew her hand.
“You have one-hundred-and-ninety-three eyelashes on the top lid of your right eye.”
“You did not count them.” She rubbed the lashes in question.
“Stop.” He gripped her arm and drew her gaze to the single brown eyelash stuck to her fingertip. “Now it’s one-hundred-and-ninety-two.”

my fav scene from the whole book was when he got sick and he locked her in his room. 4+ stars moment

”This isn’t real.”
“It feels good and ugly, painful and fucking extraordinary. That’s life, Kate. That’s real.” Lines formed between his dark eyes as he searched her face. “It doesn’t get more real than this. I know you feel it.”
“It’s Stockholm syndrome.”
“Don’t give a shit what you call it.” His accent thickened, sliding across her skin. “Doesn’t change what it is.”
The frantic wallop of her heart rang in her ears. “What do you call it, then?”
“Ours.” He drifted closer and stabbed his hands in her hair, holding her lips to his. “You and me. Wide awake. Alive. This is all we have left, and it’s the only real we’ll ever need.”

i think outta all of em (i can only say book 1-5), Kate and Tiago’s story was the only one u could call ‘slow burn’. it wasn’t slow burn at all, but theirs didn’t start w/ physical attraction like the others did. they talked etc (not enough sweet moments imo but there’s few)

🥑 part2 🥑

”Please, don’t kill me.” Tears spilled from her liquid blue eyes.
He loosened his grip and glided his fingers along the side of her face. “I can’t lose you.”
It was the most honest, vulnerable thing he’d ever admitted aloud.
“But you’re going to hurt me?” More tears escaped.
“God, yes.”

aint they sweet

”You’re covered in me.” He tipped her head back to stare into her eyes. “You’re wearing my spit, sweat, come, and blood. Give me your definition for that. The first word that comes to mind.”
“Raw.” Her brows pulled together.
“Yeah.” The corner of his mouth curved up. “Raw isn’t a bad thing, Kate, and I’m not finished.”

guess what liquid he’s gonna bathed her in next?

’Did he think about whipping her, spanking her, applying clamps or constriction bands?
Nah. Not his thing.
Did he want to cut her skin, piss on her tits, and insert needles into her tender female parts?
Fuck, yes.
Blood, come, and urine—any or all of it covering Kate’s body made him painfully hard.’

congratulations! u guessed correctly!

”I’d like to step outside for some fresh air.”
“You’ll cut my hair first.”
Her fingers flexed around the scissors, her hands hovering out to the sides.
“Do you know what you’re doing?” he asked.
“Sometimes, I shave my asshole. This isn’t any different.”
He yanked her against him and pressed the closed blades of the scissors against her pussy, with only the thin layer of linen between her delicate skin and the steel edge.
“If you cut me, draw blood, or disobey me in any way, Arturo will fuck your ass.” He adjusted his grip, angling the sharp tip against her tight, little opening. “When he’s finished, I’ll yank out that tampon and fuck your cunt with the scissors.”

this was much more enjoyable than book 1,3,4 but not a fav from the whole series. and now that i’ve reached Tiago’s book, i’m outta here

have i potentially found…the perfect hero?? i was reading this book thinking, i can’t think of a single flaw tiago badell (H) has

🔪 spoilers below 🔪

exhibit a)
his need to make a love declaration at literally the worst time ever. the man was ✨actively dying✨
“Need to tell you something.”
“What?”
“I love you.”
Her heart skipped. “You’re insane.”
“Love is insanity.”
“What do you love about me?”
“First off…”
He lifted his unshackled hand to her face. “Everything.”

exhibit b)
his way of turning romantic moments into some sex joke—
“I want to live in your mind, your heart, and—”
“Don’t say it.”
“—your cunt.”
“You said it.” She laughed.
“I meant it.”

exhibit c)
his overly creepy nature, that’s actually endearing af—
“You have one-hundred-and-ninety-three eyelashes on the top lid of your right eye.”

exhibit d)
his threatening demeanor

all this girl is doing is giving him a haircut—
“If you cut me, draw blood, or disobey me in any way, Arturo will fuck your ass.”

exhibit e)
piss kink

A steady rush of liquid warmth drenched her lower half, tickled her feet, and stirred an appalling reaction between her legs. He was peeing on her, shamelessly pissing on her body, and her pussy throbbed.

we love a good golden shower moment 😍

exhibit f)
he sold his entire criminal syndicate for 4 rare gems, which he placed on the barbells he pierced the heroine's nipples with—
“Is it true? Did you give up your entire syndicate for these stones?”
“No, Kate. I gave up everything for you.”

exhibit g)
don’t want the woman you’re in love with and holding captive to escape? just handcuff her to your nearly dead-self in the middle of the jungle—
She pulled, and his hand came with it, snug within the cuff. Locked. “You did not just do that.”
“I’m not letting you go.”

exhibit h)
the heroine attempts to escape from him?? silly girl, just tie her to a table naked and have you and your bodyguards eat dinner—
“Let’s eat.” He lowered into the chair between her bound feet and filled his plate.

that dinner wasn't the only thing he ate that night 🐱

thank you anna for the rec! now please take back the frightening voice message about your plot to kill me if I don't tag you 💕

Guess who found herself a new book boyfriendddd 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️

“Where do you draw the line?”
“No shitting and no sharing. Those are our limits.”
“You can’t tell me my limits.”
"I just did."

Luckily for Tiago, those are my limits too so

SPOILERS

I love this guy. He kidnaps her, kicks her in the ribs, ties her naked spread eagle to his dining room table and hosts a dinner party around her, *coughs* rapes her, and then after he's done all that he starts cutting himself in punishment so Kate asks him if he's self-harming bc of everything he's done to her and he goes:

“No, Kate.” He cocked his head. “For everything I’m going to do to you.”

My man said LOL bitch what you even talkm bout?? We're still in Candyland! Lemme say it again: I LOVE THIS GUY. So obviously the natural progression to his statement is:

description

And my man is a a freakkkk y'all. He did not disappoint. Fr hide your kids, hide your wife, hide your husband cause Tiego Badell is out here and he will cut you up and piss all over you

If it helps, he did it in the shower cause bb is a stand up ✨gentleman.✨ I'm not even being an ounce sarcastic either he is without a doubt the classiest dirty boy I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Suave, smooth, cultured, and so full of cum it will shock you. No fr how is he manufacturing that much cum

Honestly tho it wasn't even his actions that made me love him so much. In fact in practice this book didn't feel all that dark, but he just had that charisma, that x-factor yanno? I knew I was gonna give this book 5 stars when he handcuffed her to his dying ✨corpse✨ so she couldn't get away from him 😂😂 Like Anything he did automatically became the move bc he did it w his full chest, he was so soulful and devoted and cute and passionate ugh it was just infectious

“Now, where were we?” he asked.
“You were pointing out my faults.”
“So I was."

description

“You’re a heartless kidnapper,” she spat.
“Can’t argue with the evidence.”
You’re a murderer.”
“Yes.” He put his face in hers and smiled a humorless smile. “I’m the reason people lock their doors at night.”
“What are you going to do to me?”
“Everything you’re dreading and more.”
“You’re a rapist.” She flattened her back against the wall.
“I’m not. But that’s about to change.”

I've bounced around this series and read it v out of order, and tbh I don't expect much from it in general so Tiago surprised tf out of me by beating out Van, Cole, and Emeric as my fav Pam Godwin heroes. This is prob my fav PG book I've read and Kate (h) brought the perfect balance to Tiago's craziness. Great couple, loved them, had a fantastic time.

"Some might consider their love dark and disturbing, but he thought of it as spiritual, unearthly, and wickedly filthy."

Take is the fifth book in The Deliver Series. Although you can read this book as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the entire series so that you can get a complete understanding of the idiosyncrasies of the characters, their relationships, and the world in which they live. Kate is a survivor who has already lived through captivity. Although she has done everything to heal and move on, she finds herself held captive again. This time her captor is none other than Tiago Badell a ruthless man who will do whatever it takes for his empire to thrive and to get what he wants. Although Kate is a tool for him to use, he finds himself madly in love with her. Through the bond of a captor and captive, Kate and Tiago navigate through terror, torture, passion, and love.

description
"In the end, she saw something in him no one else had been able to see. She saw a heart worthy enough to take."
Told in multiple POV, Take is another powerful read by the queen of dark romance Pam Godwin. The intensity between these two characters is explosive and as the stakes continue to rise, Kate discovers just how strong of a woman she really is. The push and pull between these two was a constant force and the secondary characters enhance the movement of the plot greatly. The action was intense and as always, I simply could not tear my eyes away.
"This wasn't over.
He couldn't fail her."
Overall, Take is an absolute must-read for dark romance fans. Pam Godwin never fails to amaze me with her exquisite storytelling skills. She creates complex characters where the boundaries are constantly being pressed to a breaking point. While reading this book, I was going through a very difficult time in my life. I found the escape with Kate and Tiago to be exactly what my heart needed! I will forever be a fan of this author and this series! I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!

Take is the fifth book in the amazing "Deliver" series. Now let me start this review, by saying that this book can and should not be read as a stand-alone. If you want to really enjoy this series, you should go back and start reading with Deliver #1, and slowly...or fast...work your way down to this awesome read. Trust me...you won't be sorry.

trust me gif - Google zoeken

This is definitely a dark romance series and each and every book has some major triggers... That also goes for this one. I am not gonna mention them all, but I did want to give you a little warning in case "dark" isn't really your thing.

Those of you who have already started this series, already know Kate from the previous books. She has been through hell and back and now she is still struggling to move on. Too bad that hell doesn't seem to be finished with her just yet and decides to screw with her once again...using Tiago Badell, to do so.

https://www.facebook.com/pamgodwinbooks/photos/a.469683773068519/2090357974334416/?type=3

I really don't want to say anything that could possibly spoiler this book. It should be read blindly I think... So I am gonna keep my review short and simple.

Tiago has definitely become one of my favorite anti-heroes, though he still has to take a little bit of a back seat to Van Quiso....then again...I don't think anyone will ever be able to top him in my book !! That said... Tiago was all sorts of hot, dark...broody and disturbed. Just how I like my men :P

A nightmare in a designer suit

FOTO BEWERKEN - makkelijk online je foto's bewerken of aanpassen

Kate tries her very best to hate every part of his being...but it isn't all that easy. Not everything is as black and white as she would like it to be. Could it be she is actually developing feelings for this monster...or is she suffering from a case of "Stockholm syndrome".

One smile, and he could be mistaken as human, A hot-as-fuck human with the capacity to shift and melt things inside her.

This story really pushes against some boundaries, it definitely pushed some of mine...but I gobbled it all up, like the good little girl that I am fcc37b1805a49c13a3f7d3d50b64ed47

Kate really is my kind of heroine. She was so strong, but she also excepted her weaknesses...she was no push-over, but she knew not to push beyond the limits. I admired the fact, that even with everything she has been trough...she still had the ability to look further...to see beyond the outside.

She saw a heart worthy enough to take

wicked sexy gif - Google zoeken

I highly recommend this book and all the other in this series !

He was an aficionado of pain, and she was here to absorb the hurt, to wear the bruises of his art, until she escaped or died.

Top. Favorite. Dark. Romance. Of. The. Year.

Pam Godwin has a knack for redeeming the irredeemable, and she managed to outdo herself with Tiago. I never thought I'd love an anti-hero more than Van from Vanquish, but Tiago captured my heart with every heart wrenching page.
His love for her resembled a blade, a source of pain, but vital. He would always protect her, however she needed him, even when he was the cause of her suffering.

Take was everything I've come to expect from Pam and so much more. It was a story of pain and redemption. Unforgivable sins and irredeemable actions. It was dark and twisted, with an unlikely romance that bloomed like a rose on a grave. Tiago and Kate were captivating, magnetic, all encompassing, with an edge of wrong, wrapped with a unique sort of love that sneaks up on you and owns you.
Tiago was inside her, possessing her like a demon and cherishing her like a man.

This is not a book you read as a standalone. You really need to read it in order to truly understand the character dynamics. Tiago is a character that first came on the page as the villain in Devastate. He was a psychopath with a penchant for pain and yet there was a small glimpse of a heart beneath the darkly captivating criminal persona. The book ends with Kate's disappearance, and Take tells the tale of what happened. The timelines of Take and Devastate overlap slightly. Kate is now the prisoner that has no hope of making it out of her captor's hands alive. She's a payment for a loss he had, and he has no intention of letting her go.

I really don't want to tell you much more about the plot, because you really need to experience it for yourself. But Take was one twisty ride. Godwin has this way with her characters that just makes you fall for them no matter how wrong it seems. And with every layer that she peeled back from Tiago, the more you want to know about him.

Kate was the perfect heroine. She was tough with just a hint of vulnerability. She was fierce when it came to protecting her friends and even more fierce when it came to standing up to Tiago, no matter how dire her circumstances.

Tiago was the villain that you loved to hate in Devastate. But there was always that hint of something more to him. And boy did the author deliver on that here. (Heeee. see what I did there?) But back to the story. Tiago was the perfect anti-hero. He was cold, brutal, ruthless, and yet beneath all that beats a hidden heart that not many know about. This was such a multidimensional characters with so many layers. You want to hate him for who he is, but the more you find out about him, the more you understand. You begin to fall more and more for him. He's easily my favorite anti-heroes of Godwin to date!

There are some cameos from my favorites (One in particular) that I loved getting more off. And then there's the hook for the next book, and let me just tell you: IT. IS. DELICIOUS. Plus there's the added surprise of a certain character getting his own book and I just about wet myself in excitement!

To put it shortly: I loved this book! Dark romance lovers, this is an absolute must read! You don't want to miss this incredibly written, jaw dropping, and edge-of-your seat book! Trust me!

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Book 5 of 9 from Deliver series
POV: Third Person
Rating:

It’s been four years since Kate’s life changed drastically. But moving on proved harder than she thought when choices were taken away from her for the second time.

Tiago Badell built his empire as large as the wall around his heart. As leader of a criminal organization, he took what he wanted but he never anticipated his latest acquisition would be a challenge he was not ready to face.

“Why does anyone rape and butcher innocent women? Why am I hurting you? Everyone has their reasons. Pain is constant and everywhere. All you can do is endure and fucking accept it.”

Tiago was one irresistible anti-hero dripping with potent sexuality. I loved how he didn’t hold back in getting what he wanted. Also, his certain proclivity was a major extra point for me.

She hated him too much to want him. She hated him for making her think that wanting him was even a possibility.

Kate was actually my least favorite member of Freedom Fighter because she seemed weak in past books. Thankfully, she proved her worth in this one while still retaining her vulnerabilities.

I really enjoyed the overall story of this one. I loved learning about Tiago’s past and his path of destruction and how it connected with a present character. The explosive sexual chemistry made the sex scenes scorchingly intense.

Take is a story of taking control and moving on. It would appeal to readers who enjoy sexy dark romance.

I have always loved Pam Godwins dark romances! She is the Queen of being able to redeem the unredeemable!!! I honestly didn’t think she would get me to feel any compassion for our hero... but she most certainly did! As for Kate ( our heroine) she was a kick ass woman and I loved her in this book! She was fierce when she needed to be, and vulnerable at times too. I thought she was perfect for Tiago, and definitely gave him a run for his money!

As always with Ms. Godwin’s stories; readers must be warned that there is dark content within the pages. It is important to remember that the anti- hero in this book is twisted and majorly unconventional. The sex is brutal, raw, and may turn some of you off. On the flip side though... he is extreme in his love for Kate. He’s beyond alpha, possessive, and intense! I personally loved that part of him! To love that wholeheartedly and be so captivated by someone, makes me kind of envious!! ( I know in reality it would be creepy! Lol)
I have always known what kind of love stories I will get when I open Pam’s books and I just eat them right up!

My only complaint, and the reason I docked a half a star is that I would have liked to know a bit more about Tiago’s past. More information about his parents and how they treated him would have been good to know. I would have also liked to have known why his certain issue came about..( I don’t want to say what it is). Other than that I loved the story and this is one of my best books of 2019!

-If you truly love someone, you don’t let them go without a fight.

Tiago Badell is one of the wealthiest most powerful crime lords in Venezuela. He's made a living off others misery, and is known for being a heartless, manipulative, merciless man. He recently abducted a woman from Texas named Kate and is deciding what her fate will be.

Kate is being held captive by a ruthless monster known for torturing his prisoners. He was deranged, and scared the living hell out of her. Her reality was there was a good chance she'd never be found. She would likely be there until she escaped or died. She was angry her freedom had been ripped away, and had grown impatient, defiant, desperate, and reckless in her isolation. She longed for her friends and fresh air, but refused to be the victim or let him see her fear. She's stronger than she looks, and decides she has nothing to lose. She had to figure out how to deal with a psychopath who enjoyed mind games. He liked to be feared and demanded control. Compassion didn't exist in his world, and she wondered what made him this cold-hearted and cruel. He seemed one-dimentional, but she soon begins to see there's a lot more to Tiago Badell than his reputation and what you see on the surface.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Tiago is a man of patience and purpose, not impulse and emotion, but he finds himself intrigued with Kate. She becomes a temptation that challenges and excites him. She's captivating, and devastatingly beautiful. He's breaking all his own rules for her, and she's resurrecting and piercing through his dead, vicious black soul. The chemistry between them burns hot as his obsession grows. His hunger for her is insatiable under his crumbling resistance.

Things get very complicated for Kate as she's held against her will. She's trapped with a man who provokes every emotion to the extreme. Terror, hatred, curiosity, and attraction. He made her crave things she should never want from him. He scrambles her mind, and the connection and intimacy between them shredded her. His touch felt like he was bringing her to life and destroying her all at once. He was seductive, aggressive, and disturbing. He possessed all her senses, and she hated the effect he had on her. He drove her to the edge of pleasure and pain, and she was drowning in passion. She couldn't explain her feelings. How could she ache for her tormentor? He was messing with her head while stealing her breath with desire. He worships and hurts her in equal measure and he shows her a devoted, tender side she didn't think existed. Could she be the one to make him feel again and be his salvation?

-She took in his unexpected beauty.

-How could someone so evil be so enticingly, flawlessly beautiful?

-He was madness with straight, white teeth. Corruption with glowing skin. A nightmare in a designer suit.

-He was everywhere, all around her, overwhelming and watchful. Always watching with those dark, dangerous eyes.

-An arrogant smirk kicked up the corner of his mouth.

-His smirk transformed, curving into a handsome, breathtaking grin. It softened his eyes and altered the very air around him, making him unrecognizable. One smile, and he could be mistaken as human. A hot-as-fuck human with the capacity to shift and melt things inside her.

-She feared him down to the marrow of her bones. Desired him with every fiber of her sexuality. Cursed him to the ends of her pride and back.

-The heart of Tiago Badell lay hidden under blood, teeth, and vicious threats, but it was there, calling to her, beating for her. She felt it every time their eyes connected.

3.5⭐️

I would rate this book way higher if it weren’t for a certain fetish the hero indulges in 🤢🤢. Like Tiago the hero is smexyyy but that certain fetish seriously got in the way of me finding him daddy material.

Nonetheless this book was still really enjoyable. I liked the characters, the chemistry between the two leads was hot, and the pacing kept me captivated!

Also I commend Godwin for not turning Tiago all soft and mushy after falling for Kate. He did get softer towards Kate, but he didn’t do a total 180 like a lot of antiheroes I have read about in the past. I can’t stand when antiheroes go all soft and sweet, like what the F? They lose the entire appeal as an antihero. Now that I think about it 🤔 Tiago’s characterization was really well done, he was intense and complicated and there were times I just didn’t understand him but I still felt for him. And it went past the whole I have to feel bad for you cause you have a tortured past thing.

Kate, while not my favorite, wasn’t a bad heroine. Her quite nature and strength matched well with Tiago’s intensity. However, she became a little invisible especially in the middle, but that’s probably because Tiago’s giant personality overshadowed her.

The plot wasn’t anything too crazy or messy, which I appreciate. I hate convoluted plots, with too much going on. ESPECIALLY, in my romance books where I need the romance to be front and center, and not the action or politics or whatever else that may be the secondary genre. While there wasn’t your traditional romance in this book, but Tiago and Kate’s relationship was definitely the high focus. A majority of this book was spent showing the development of Tiago and Kate’s burgeoning feelings for each other. The transition from a captor and captive relationship to lovers was smooth and convincing *chefs kisses*🧑‍🍳 😘💋to that!!!

This was a time well spent, off to the next one 🏇🏇

Not a stranger to challenges, Kate believed her life had taken a new direction since being released from captivity four years prior, but her nightmare begins as she finds herself as a prisoner once again. Knowing the myriad of criminals who may want to use Kate as a pawn, she prepares for the monster who will use her as he sees fit.

“You have my fear. You’ve taken my freedom. I have nothing left to lose.”

Tiago Badell is the crime lord of Caracas with a reputation and propensity for violence. His motivation for kidnapping Kate is payback for another’s previous transgression. During her time of captivity, Tiago is intrigued the duality of her tenacity and innocence. Liking the fight inside her, Tiago wages a war within himself as his past is ever present in his mind.

“She was the fiercest, most exquisite creature he’d ever laid eyes on, and she was his. His prisoner. His property.”

From the beginning, the tone is menacing and the rapport between Tiago and Kate is laden with passion and intensity. Cruel in his delivery, Kate doesn’t want to surrender and that makes what occurs between them darkly erotic. Wanting to give pain, Tiago is exacting in getting what he wants but also delivers pleasure. Together, their relationship develops with intrigue, sexual tension and eventually a mutual understanding.

“You’re covered in me.” He tipped her head back to stare into her eyes. “You’re wearing my spit, sweat, come, and blood. Give me your definition for that.”

Tiago is a man of kinky predilections and he had me in a hot mess. I loved his presence, personality and pain. As for Kate, she is a good match for Tiago and makes him work for it; however, she would sacrifice for him in a heartbeat. Plus, their connection is combustible.

Being the fifth book in the Deliver series, the ongoing gritty plot continues to build complex layers with some points resolved and others that continue to percolate. I must say, with the ending and seeing what’s to come, I am dying for those books.

Taken is dark story about inner strength and how one can prevail despite pain.

I tried not to be stingy with my rating but suppressing natural instincts is unhealthy. Idk what it is, I loved loved the story, the couple, THE HERO😮‍💨. Unfortunately, something was missing. I don't want to dig in my head for reasons, it's just a feeling. And it really doesn't matter because this served what it was supposed to.

Fav quotes (for myself)
Her gaze narrowed on his hair, calm and astute. Her fingers flexed around the scissors, her hands hovering out to the sides.
“Do you know what you’re doing?” he asked.
“Sometimes, I shave my asshole. This isn’t any different.”

“Don’t you get sick of looking at me?” She withdrew her hand.
“You have one-hundred-and-ninety-three eyelashes on the top lid of your right eye.”
“You did not count them.”

“No shitting and no sharing.” He grabbed a bar of soap. “Those are our limits.”

He turned his gaze to Boones and spoke in Tigrayit. “I don’t need love, you meddling old fuck.”
“Idiot,” Boones said in the same language. “You need it more than ever now that you have brain damage.”
“You said the injuries didn’t damage my brain.”
“I changed my mind.”

He’d abducted her, fucked her, pissed on her, scarred her.
And saved her.

“Damn you, Tiago. Nothing says I love you like handcuffing me to your dead body.”

Did he think about whipping her, spanking her, applying clamps or constriction bands?
Nah. Not his thing.
Did he want to cut her skin, piss on her tits, and insert needles into her tender female parts?
Fuck, yes.

Wow! Pam Godwin hit the spot once again! I didn’t know what to think when I heard Tiago Badell would be the hero in Take. Not meant as a standalone you need to read the other books in the series to truly capture all the things happening in here. I already knew Tiago from Devastate and I knew what he was capable of. I had another man in mind for Kate even if after reading Take I can clearly see why Pam chose Tiago over that other guy. It’s not his time yet.

Take is an action packed dark story mixing deceit, passion, pain and redemption. Raw, real and surprising Kate & Tiago’s story is one of a kind. Definitely no heart and flowers but with a lots of hurts and wrong. Even in the darkest place, you can find love. Tiago and Kate sure did.

“Do you want to live, Kate?”
She choked on a whimper.
“Yes.”
“Are you worthy of mercy?”
“Yes.”
“Convince me.”

Tiago is the perfect example of an anti-hero you love to hate. Rough, unapologetic, he’s the definition of evil but if you scratch the surface you’ll see that actions have reasons. I’m not saying Tiago can’t be forgiven easily but damn his story isn’t an easy one and sanity is often lost in dark times. I had a hard time believing Pam Godwin could can redeem the irredeemable but she did! I should have known she already did with Van Quiso.

Kate is without a doubt my favorite woman in the delivers series! Fierce, full of fight and never giving up, she gives as much as she takes. After being taken 2 times you’d think she’d feel a bit desperate but not at all. Kate fights all the time and show no fear.

“What are you going to do to me?”
“Everything you’re dreading and more.”

Take shows you the ugly but also the beautiful because there’s always light in darkness. Now you’ll have to trust Pam to show you the way.

As for me, I’m thrilled about the next book... MMF... yeah I can’t resist

Genre:  Dark Romance
Type:  Book 5 of 9 from Deliver series
POV:  Third Person

Delivering pain is an expression of art...He had the capacity to hurt and love in equal intensities.

Take teaser by Pam G

Kate has been trying to find herself after what she went through four years ago.  However; she never anticipated finding herself in a similar situation a second time time around.

The only power she possessed here was that over her own emotions. She allowed Van to use her terror to control her and wouldn't make that mistake again.

Tiago Badell is the leader of an underground empire, he had been tested so many times and he has always come out wining.  What he didn't expect what falling in love so hard he couldn't see straight.

❝ He would always protect her, however she needed him, even when he was the cause of her suffering.

I honestly didn't remember Tiago much since I tend to forget prior books often but the author did an amazing job bringing Tiago back to us and seriously making the readers love a villain who was hated badly in the previews books.  I found myself fanning over this man and good god he was totally amazing.   Every move he made was done with a purpose and I enjoyed every single second of it.

❝He was an aficionado of pain, and she was here to absorb the hurt, to wear the bruises of his art, until she escaped or died.❞

Take was truly an amazing story packed with so much action, suspense, so many great characters but also an incredible sexy steamy read that will have every reader fanning themselves and melting over the hot couple.  The chemistry was on point, the plot was fantastic and oh my god some characters from previews series made an appearance and I was literally screaming of excitement haha.  Overall, I highly recommend this story to readers who enjoy a great dark suspense story.

She was his whole, his entire being, more himself than he was. If she ceased to exist, he would be a stranger, no longer part of this world.

She was his constant, his evermore, not just in the physical sense. She was the inexplainable something that made up his soul.

Dang Pam Godwin! This woman is too good at the dark and twisty storytelling. She can definitely redeem the unredeemable! This is Kate and Tiago’s story and I truly wondered how Pam was going to redeem Tiago cause he did some pretty terrible stuff in the last book. I did trust that she could do it, cause hello Van! The storyline was awesome though and I completely fell in love with Tiago, boy was he amazing with Kate. And Kate was a kickass strong heroine, totally loved her fierceness. I totally love this series and can’t wait for what comes next!!!

Well I didn't think Pam could shock me anymore than she already has but damn she did. Tiago is a sick and twisted person but he made he is way into my heart!! His back story broke my heart, do I forgive what he did in the past... no but it makes it easier. He is another Van just in a different way! Kate was perfect for him and I was happy to see that she did have a strong side. They were great together in their own sick, crazy, dark, loveable way!!!! Thank you again Pam for the arc, you're amazing !!!

“You’re the miracle that grows in the smallest crack of sunlight.”
Holy smoking-hot, dirty-talking, arrogant, sadistic son-of-a-beech of anti-heroes! Good lawd, Tiago Badell checks all the boxes! Seriously, this guy gives you every single reason in the book to hate him- he abducts, tortures, drug-trades, kills....you name it, if it’s bad, or seriously messed up in the head, he’s your guy! But, holy smokes, Batman, this guy is ridiculously irresistible.

He was madness with straight, white teeth. Corruption with glowing skin. A nightmare in a designer suit.

I’ve followed along each and every book in the Deliver series and I think Take is definitely the most smoking hot. There’s kink and definitely triggers for people who don’t like sexual violence but Pam Godwin spins it in such a way that the reader thaws to Tiago’s corrupt and sadist ways right along with his captive, Kate.

There were so many facets to her he wanted to carve open, bleed all her layers, and preserve her strength in a canvas of beautiful scars.

What’s equally endearing about this story is Tiago has met his match with Kate. She is tough, feisty as can be, and seriously has the ability to somewhat tame the untamable.

The first half of the book I felt went a tad slow, or anticlimactic, but I think in the end, it was done for a reason. This isn’t some ‘insta-love, anti-hero turns into a prince within a few pages’ kind of book. Tiago has issues and no matter how much Kate may wish he was a better man (I’m not even sure he does wish it) even she can’t completely tame his inner beast. But Tiago on a sexual standpoint takes us to another whole level of Alpha male. Holy shizzle.

This series is dark. It’s depraved a bit. Written in Pam Godwin’s beautiful almost-poetic prose. She softens some of the rough blows and still manages to deliver us a beautiful love story. And isn’t that what we all wish for in our books? Even if we cringe and curse along the way, she delivers here in spades.

Each book in this series features a different couple but really should be read in order as the timelines do move forward and we are gifted with cameos of our past characters.

Bravo. Thanks again for giving me a hero I hate to love...or love to hate!

I'm not ashamed to say I have devoured this book in one single night. Once I started reading, it was simply impossible to stop myself from finishing it.. what even is sleep 💁🏻
This book took my breath away many times and I had to stifle the urge to compulsively write down a review, I preferred to wait a day to collect my scattered emotions because I wanted my words to make sense lol.
This, in my opinion, is an indisputable great book. Even tho not all emotions I felt throughout were positive and I have my complaints (we'll get to that later) it is obvious to me that Pam Godwin is a very skilled and talented author. I loved how she narrated the story and how we were able to be inside both the MCs minds. it was written in 3rd person which is not my favorite pov whatsoever but it worked fine and I enjoyed it all the same.
What I loved/enjoyed: first of all the heroine, Kate. She is a sweet 22 year girl whose life sucked from her childhood to her present days, which is when we meet her. She suffered so much trauma already and now she's been kidnapped (for the second time in her life) by a cruel crime lord.
I loved her instantly: she is vulnerable and young and crushed by present and past situations but she never, ever gives up fighting for her freedom and herself. She was a true gem and I admired her and her strength till the end.
The kinks/s3x scenes/chemistry between MCs were absolutely. TOP. NOTCH. This is a dark book. Tiago, the hero is an abusive and brute fuck for majority of it and I didn't like him, not even towards the end when he asks for forgiveness I thought he was redeemable. Some things he did I simply couldn't get past (again, more on that in a sec I promise). HOWEVER. what I did love about him was his passion and his relentlessness in the bedroom. This book is kind of popular for the interesting kinks you can find in it and I was alllll in. Yep. I loved every single one of them and I'm not even sorry (rape, non/dub con, knife/blood play, golden shower, rough sex to name a few) Tiago was insane but on the sexual department he was superb.
What I did NOT enjoy: two things mostly. I fucking hated one specific scene !!!SPOILERS!!!
I'm going to be extremely specific. Kate is being punished for trying to escape and Tiago has her tied up, spread eagled and completely naked on a table. Him and his guards have dinner around her while of course she's dying inside but that wasn't the worst part. No, the worst moment was when Tiago proceeds to order his bodyguard Arturo to fuck Illiana (a prostitute? still have no idea what the hell her purpose was in that house) right on that table while she's licking Kate's pussy and still not happy, Tiago tells Arturo to rape Kate next. Mind you, she is still a virgin at this point and the only reason she doesn't get raped by Arturo is Kate begs Tiago this is the only thing she has left for herself.
This scene was so fucking disgusting and it felt so repulsive to think he could be so cruel to the point of letting someone else touch her and rape her so she could teach her a lesson. What if she wasn't a virgin? and what if she didn't tell him? I KNOW it sounds bonkers to say that to me it's different and okay if the hero himself gets to that point but hey, it's Romanceland and while I do love my cruel, bastard I'll do-and take-whatever I want-no matter what - heroes, there's still a limit and I was just so heartbroken. Non-redeemable act to me.
Secondly, Illiana (the prostitute/guard or whatever she was) was all over Tiago before him and Kate get together. Always touching him and wanting to fuck. Kate has to endure this a few times at the start until Tiago puts an end to it. He says later on they never got sexual so someone may consider me extreme but I don't care, I absolutely despise any form of intimacy happening outside the MCs, I'm possessive and crazy like that 😶 so I also found it hard to endure and a hard pill to swallow while reading those scenes.
So yea, this IS an amazingly well written, beautiful and intense love story but I can be very petty and to me those two factors took away from it so much that I have to lower from a 5 star read down to a 3.

I totally admit I did not follow the right reading order of the series and I know the characters and their stories are all intertwined but I was still able to follow up pretty easily and I think I'll try reading more books from it, I just know I need to be in the right mindset lol.

No one does dark romance like Pam Godwin does.

Dark Feels.
I'm bursting at the seams. Ahhhhhh! I love my anti-heroes, Pam Godwin is insanely talented in redeeming even the most ruthless, brutal, sadistic characters. Tiago. I'm so in love, er Stockholm Syndrome. I don't even care. With so many captor romances out lately, Godwin really sets the bar, and just when I think I can't possibly read another story about kidnapping, she grabs a hold of my throat and chokes me into submission, leaving me boneless. You do not want to miss this one. Edgy and sexy! Raw Ruthlessness seeps from the pages.

"When he wasn’t scaring the piss out of her, he was sucking her in with his glowing charisma. Lucifer had charisma. It was easy to be both repulsed by evil and drawn to its power. She would do well to remember that."

I'm going to TRY to keep this review rather short, but with my twenty five highlights, I keep reliving this book over and over and over. I'm on level too high to not babble about how absolutely amazing this story was. We met the devil aka Tiago in Devastate, the last book released in The Deliver Series, you must read all these books, dark talent exudes from each book, page, word. I wanted Tiago's book, he was captivating, mysterious, a luscious lunatic. I'm sick in the head, we've already established that. And Kate was another victim waiting to shine with a fierceness that can get the darkest heart pumping. I absolutely loved the push and pull, the character growth, the fine line, the tight rope between the two. The start was like a slap to the face with Tiago, you really have to love dark romance to get excited like I was. Disturbing and delicious.

“You’re a heartless kidnapper,” she spat.
“Can’t argue with the evidence.”
“You’re a murderer.”
“Yes.” He put his face in hers and smiled a humorless smile.
“I’m the reason people lock their doors at night.”

Sadistically sweet, that Tiago. Sigh. Even the darkest hearts need love. Kate fell down the rabbit hole screaming and fighting, and ultimately caging her captor. This story is going to push your boundaries. This story is going make you question your morals. This story will make you love the villain. It's dark, deep, and unrelenting. The writing drills a hole in your heart and forever changes your perspective. I can't possibly praise this enough. 10 Stars isn't enough.

His eyes snapped open, sharpened, drilling into hers. “Need to tell you something.”
“What?”
“I love you.” Her heart skipped. “You’re insane.”
“Love is insanity.”
Desperate to keep him alert and talking, she leaned in and asked, “What do you love about me?”
“First off…” He lifted his unshackled hand to her face.
“Everything.”

5 Take(me) Stars

One of the menacing characters I met in Deliver Series -- Tiago Bedell. The character I love to hate last year in Devastate is back. He's still dark, raw, intense and apparently likes bloodplay.

Kate lost her freedom once again in the hands of Tiago. But she's not just about to accept her captivity without a fight. She's feisty and speaks her mind. Learning what happened in Tiago's past gave her a glimpse of why he became the person he is today. Is it possible to fall for someone like Tiago?

Never underestimate the power of a good author that knows how to make you fall for her (anti) hero. I don't like Tiago before but now I can't let go of him. Pam Godwin did an amazing job of writing this story.

I dare you to read this series for it's getting better and better as each Freedom Fighters gets their own story. I'm looking forward to the next one. Highly recommendable series.

A bad guy can turn good.

Wow this author is just amazing every book she writes I luv. This series is dark, screwed up, twisted and totally crazy. This book is all that plus more. So much has happened throughout this series that I didn't think I could be shocked any more. But he I was Tiago Befell is a crazy evil man. The things he has done aren't good and he knows it he doesn't hide it he actually wears it with pride. He's killed and hurt people it's his job to make sure people fear him and they do. He is one of the best cartels there is and none well ever take him down. That's until Kate a girl he has kidnapped gets under his skin. It wasn't meant to be that way she was payment. He didn't do woman well not in a long time he was focus on what was meant to be done. But Kate was different she made him want to be the man he once was. But that guy didn't exist anymore well he didn't think he did.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

Kate God where do I start with this girl. She has been through a lot and I mean a lot. If she wasn't taken and locked up by Van's she had now been taken by Tiago. Life just sucked big time. Her life has never been easy but she alway dug deep and found a way to deal with each situation. Being taken by Tiago wasn't goin to be any different. Yes she feared him he was crazy she knew what he has done to a few of her friends so she knew how evil he was. By looking at him you wouldn't think it. He's gorgeous looking strong sexy but in his eyes you could see the darkness. Even when he was injured he still had the upper hand. Things weren't goin to be easy for her with him she just didn't expect to see softer side it wasn't soft and cuddly he would alway have that hard evil side. She hated it and it killed her to even let her guard down but there was something that she couldn't get enough of even.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

This book is crazy and just brilliant. I never thought I could ever like That I and I mean ever. The things he has done kills me. But finding out his story and knowing why he is the men he is is sad. They have both been through a lot they were never going to be the perfect couple. To much has happened and they both know that. But seeing them together you could see both of them getting closer and slowly letting there guard. It was hard for Kate and my heart went out to her and it did for Tiago as well which still shocks me now. She just had so much bad luck it has to end eventually she couldn't carry on like she was she was to young she needed to experience what her friends had found she just didn't think she would find it with her captor.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

I would highly recommend this book. The books are standalone but I would definitely read them in order. You would get to know the story and characters better. You won't be disappointed either this series is amazing it is dark and it may have a few triggers. But if your into the dark romance check this out. Ive alway be a lil scared of dark romance but I have to say this series has made me luv it and I read so many more after it. I really can't recommend it enough.

absolutely unputdownable. very dark, twisted, totally crazy and scorchingly sexy, with an unredeemable anti-hero that the author still manages to thoroughly redeem and a heroine who never stops fighting and gives as good as she gets. probably not for the faint of heart. but if you're into dark erotic romance this will be a treat i do recommend it🙌

Tragic and hopeful in the mood, vicious and tender in sentiments, punishing and redeeming in the characterization, the story holds you hostage with words. Powerful words from unforgiving pen of Godwin. She doesn't hold much back, painting these people in all the shades of grey. They ALL  walk a thin line between love and hate, taking the readers by surprise at every turn.
I loved the mighty Tiago and the strong Amazonian woman that is Kate. Mettle of steel and heart of lioness. I love the wonderful women that Pam creates. They stand shoulder to shoulder with the men and often save the men in distress. From Liv to Camila to Lucia to Kate #WomenPower is strong in her stories !!

description

I've been waiting for the stoory of Tiago Badell - Most Dangerous Men in the World since I read Devastate. His intriguing personality was calling my name and Pam has delivered him straight in to my hands.
He's mysterious & omnipotent. His mystique and aura just splays like a dark cloud in the pages. Sexy as Devil, all Powerful like him too, I'm so enamoured by his range of proclivities & fetishes. I could even call him an artist of sorts 😁
He was madness with straight, white teeth. Corruption with glowing skin. A nightmare in a designer suit.
Kate is automatically pulled into his orbit, She's captive, helpless and at his mercy.
A perfect setting for Stockholm Syndrome to set in.........
Or is it?

description

She was a human being with an expiration date,
You'll fall in love with this book, this series and the brain behind it all.
It's a juggernaut of emotions, throttling down towards you at full speed. It railroads you with passion, overruns you with fear and shakes you with heightened sense of danger.
You CANNOT remain untouched or unmoved.
“We both need this escape. You can take from me. I’ll take from you, and just for a little a while, let’s get lost in it.”
I'd do what Kate did in a heartbeat, I'd do what Tiago did in a nanosecond.......and I'd definitely do what Boones did unquestionably.
Only noblest of hearts can accept and endure, obey and acquiesce, to find redemption.

ugh my fucking heart. THIS is my FAV pam godwin book. i have no words except that i love kate and tiago. my lil babies.

i'm so surprised at how strong kate acted in this book. she was always so quiet and scared in the other books that i didn't expect her this badass.

my man tiago was everything i wanted van to be. i'm so SO SO glad that he never gave up on kate. ugh my new book boyfriend. he just has my whole heart.

also the fact that he has a piss kink. goodness!!! this man can do anything and i'll be happy (expect shitting and sharing because that's his limits omg)
