Business is king, and I have an empire to topple.

Ivy is my new assistant and a threat to me. She’s my undoing. If ever I was to believe in a cosmic connection, it was the moment I met her.

For years I’ve had one goal--revenge. As CEO, I have crafted a strategic plan for business, but never a life beyond.

With one touch from her, the veil is lifted. Things are different, and every moment I’m near her, my world begins to change.

A wall of propriety keeps me from her. I need her as my pawn in this war, beside me in battle. Sharing the secrets of my enemies, and her desires in my bed. Her body to claim as mine.

Getting what I want has consequences.

I love work-place romances and this was a super steamy office romance that hit the spot.

Ivy Prescot is sick of working for the jerk she’s working for so she goes out to look for a new job as a PA. She’s hired to work for Lincoln Devereux, and though a lot of things are better with working for Mr. Devereux, a lot are just as challenging. Ivy and Lincoln have insane chemistry. You feel it from the first moment they meet. Even though they try to stay away from each other in that way, it seems futile.
“You told me in my interview you weren’t looking for sex with your assistant.”
“Things change.” “
Convenience?” I grabbed hold of her jaw, my lips ghosting hers.
“Un-fucking-deniable attraction.”

Ivy and Lincoln eventually give in to their desires and they go from being boss/employee to lovers. The only thing is, Lincoln is hiding something big. A secret with the possibility of tearing them apart. Lincoln is searching for vengeance and is using Ivy in the process, but when his feelings for her start to grow, things shift. I was so anxious to see what would happen when all the truths came out!

I liked both Lincoln and Ivy a lot. Ivy’s twin cracked me up, I would love to get a story for her! Ivy was tough, had a back bone, but was also sweet. Lincoln at first rubbed me the wrong way, but once I saw how much he truly started to care for Ivy, he won me over. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star for me is I felt that the ending and everything after the big reveal was a little rushed. I wanted more! Overall, I really enjoyed it. KI Lynn never disappoints with writing sexy books that touch your heart. I loved Lincoln & Ivy’s story!

The copy on German KU didn't include a strong and sassy heroine, unfortunately. Which was actually the reason I picked up this book, I mean apparently smart/strong/confident heroine. Well, moving on.

She worked as a PA for a disgusting misogynist and stood up by not giving in to him. Well done, woman. Professional attitude is a good thing! She left her former boss and took a position of the male protagonist's PA, who was apparently a better man. And again, my copy till the point I read didn't include his good side. But whatever.

So, the woman, who was proud of her morals and showed off her professionalism, drooled over her new boss, who made her arrange fake gifts for the apparently fake women he f*cked. Coz it's the best strategy to push a decent woman away! Ha! Since the decent woman left my copy before I even started to read it, the heroine did have sex with her boss even thinking he f*cked around after meeting her. What a smart girl, yeah?!

Anyway, nothing new above, same old cliches we read in thousands of other CR books.

But the next line, which came from the 'good' and 'honourable' male protagonist addressing a random woman, who flirted with him, made me stop immediately.

"Did I stutter? If I want to fuck you, I’ll come to you. Gold-digging sluts who hang out in swanky hotel bars trying to find a sugar daddy aren’t my thing."

He didn't know her = never met her and even if...
Any male organism, which disrespects any woman, is a pile of dry sh*t.

Fuck you, lincoln!

No me gusta la novela erótica.
Hala, ya lo he dicho...
qué descanso.
Y no hace falta que me mires así, como de soslayo, como si no terminaras de creer lo que te digo.
Te lo puedo asegurar.
No me gustan.

Overall Opinion: Meh. I felt like this had some good potential but sadly just never reached it. While I'm not usually a fan of the revenge plot, I still liked the overall premise. What I didn't like was that their big conflict was so darn eye roll inducing and could have been prevented with some good ol' COMMUNICATION! What frustrated me the most is that I think that the h's character would've gone along with it all if she only knew what was happening!! I know, I know...these are fictional characters...but that's just it! I expect to get invested in them as if they were real people when I read a book. I got irritated, so I obviously did get invested on some level -- but it wasn't nearly enough connection for me with either character or to even feel their connection to each other. The drama was lame and the rest of it felt surface level and meh. I can't get over the big conflict, so I'm giving it a little less than "just okay" 3 stars with a 2.5 rating.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Ivy and Lincoln's story. Ivy gets hired as Lincoln's new assistant after working for his competitor for years. Lincoln is happy to hire her for her skills but also to get some inside information about the man he's been trying to get revenge on for years. They have an instant strong attraction but hold off because of their working relationship. There is some bumping heads and then they finally give in and start a relationship and fall in love. There are some big secrets revealed, some hot sexy times, and some revenge drama...and they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Ivy and Lincoln's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Alright. There are some big time jumps and the ending felt a little rushed, but otherwise I thought it flowed well and I didn't skim.

Instalove: No, they are more like hate-to-love.

H rating: 2.5 stars. Lincoln. His poor communication skills ruined him for me, especially with those he big conflict towards the end.

h rating: 3 stars. Ivy. She was alright. She was feisty at times but also gave in too easy at other times.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- it did seem to be a lot and often took the place of more meaningful interactions IMO.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had alright closure. I would classify this as a HFN ending, but I'm sure others would be fine in calling it a HEA . I just wanted more time between the conflict being resolved and the ending.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

"You're an asshole," I said without thinking. My blood froze for a second as I waited for his response.
Lincoln Devereux is a self-made millionaire whose past life experiences made him the man that he is. Arrogant. Brooding. Yes, he's an asshole, but a sexy-panty-melting kind of an asshole. And he's on a hunt on how to destroy the person who's responsible for what happened to a loved one.
"Not only are you the most beautiful thing in this building but one of the most intelligent. A deadly combination for a man like me."
When Ivy Prescot got the position as an assistant to DCS CEO she didn't realize how overbearing her new boss is. But what she likes about Lincoln is how focus he is in making his company be on top.
"You told me in my interview you weren't looking for sex with your assistant."
Lincoln and Ivy's working relationship is an ideal one. They bring out the best in each other. She's the yin to his yang, professionally. But the desire for one another is undeniable. Giving into pent up sexual attraction makes the pages of this book hotter than hell. They work hard but they play harder, so to speak.

Will Lincoln forgo his need for revenge to save the woman he loves or still pursue it no matter who will be hurt in the end?

The Executive is nothing but AMAZING!!! Lincoln seems to met his match in Ivy. The storyline immediately draws me in and that I can't stop reading it until the wee hours of the night. One of my fastest read, in fact. Unputdownable! The plot, the characters are exceptionally well-written. I greatly enjoyed my time reading Ms. K.I.'s latest book. A must read! So, if you're in search of a great office romance story, I recommend this one. Happy reading!

**Some SPOILERS**

Good sexual tension & how it evolved in a few weeks time from working to fighting their attraction to romance. Likable chars--27yo efficient PA’s combo of quiet efficiency and insightful directness/sexy yet choosy/strong with good discernment and l36yo software biz H’s focused drive and grumpiness from being such a focused & smart workaholic that hid a broken heart due to his twin sister’s suicide 9 years ago. Liked that h knew what she was going into and wasn't complainy about things. Loved how H became so enamored by getting to know h’s character as his PA and as an attractive woman. Loved how H became uncharacteristically unfocused & unmotivated to work when he had to cruelly & publicly fire h right after their romantic time in Rome (when his nemesis & his twin’s ex-fiance appeared at work as part of his secret plan to bring OM down but didn’t want h to be targeted by him since he was her ex-boss who she worked for 5 years before she quit & started working for H months ago).

Sexual History:
27yo h had boyfriends before & was even casually dating a guy for a couple months before they broke it off due to her busy work schedule. No info if she slept with him or not. H’s last GF was 9 years ago before his twin’s death & only managed to have hookups a couple until he met h. After he 1st met h, he couldn’t muster any desire for any other women including his 2 regular hookups but pretended to still date them by having h send them gifts so h would think that he was dating others. But he soon told h about the fake dates whose gifts ended up going to his younger sister’s business adresses. During the 1 month H&h were apart after he fired her, neither dated anyone else coz both were heartbroken & missing each other.

Ivy went from working for one jerk to another, but the difference in the two men was big! One was an arrogant slimeball and the other had demons he needed to deal with.

I felt Ivy and Lincoln were good for each other and who doesn't like a forbidden office romance. There was a twist I didn't see coming. I totally thought something else was going to be reveal, but overall a nice steamy read.

This was a hard book to put down! Within a few pages I was hooked. The chemistry between Ivy and Lincoln is off the charts from the second they meet and it only gets hotter and hotter the more time they spend together.

Lincoln is set on getting his revenge and when Ivy goes for an interview and he learns she’s currently working for his enemy, and he immediately starts coming up with a plan on how he can use her to take her boss down. He has no idea how phenomenal Ivy is at her job, nor is he expecting to feel such an intense attraction to her. There’s times I really disliked Lincoln. He can be a bit (a lot) of an asshole but there’s something about him that’s very appealing.

I loved this book. Give me an office romance with plenty of push and pull, a ton of chemistry and throw some revenge in for good measure and I guarantee I’ll be hooked and that was the case with The Executive. I didn’t put this book down once from start to finish.

One click and read....

I received The Executive by K.I. Lynn to read as an ARC for my honest review.

From the very first page of The Executive I was draw in instantly. I love boss/employee romances, and this one was one of my favorite because of the angsty feel, drama feel and can't forget the dark twist. I read this amazing story in one sitting! 5 stars and I highly recommend!!!

Lincoln is the CEO of a major company.
Handsome, rich, rough around the edges and he has secrets...
Ivy is a beautiful, smart woman. She has been a job for 5 years and bam decides its time to go...  The moment Lincoln and Ivy met there's a instant attraction. Until they meet again in the interview room minutes later. Ivy wants to be a great right hand assistant and be recognized for her accomplishments. Lincoln needs a new assistant but Ivy is a gift and a curse. She's also his in with taking down his rival her former boss.

The story is so well written and flows brilliantly
The characters are fully developed
Their banter is a roller coaster of emotions

I absolutely loved this story
It's not all hearts and love, its hate, lust to love story.
K.I. Lynn this book is another hit love

Holy Molly this book was something else. Wild ride all the way. Full of hatred, revenge drive but bittersweet and love changing. The story itself wrapped me around its little finger and wouldn't t let loose until the very end.

The characters were meant to be together, although the path was very stony with lots of secrets and distrust but in the end perfection pure. Their acting was like crashing of waves on the rocks. Lincoln like the rock, hard and demanding, Ivy surrounding him with her softness, sometimes stormy, sometimes steady pace. No one could really win.  The same but so very different and their relationship like sparkles sizzling through the air. Explosive, hot and steamy in a corporate world.

I loved every second of this amazing book. I loved also the mention of the company from another book by K.I. Lynn. So familiar yet so different.

I started this book at 11pm. Absolute Rookie Mistake. I should have known that a K.I Lynn book would pull me and not let me go.
Not let me go it did, this story has all the feels and emotions.

I was captivated me, intrigued me and had me guessing what the Fuck was going on.
I'm normally not into back and forth but this book was definitely an exception to the rule. It was needed especially since the H Lincoln was the h Ivy's Boss. I understood why she battled with her position and then also their relationship. She definitely wasn't anyones doormat neither was she goona let ppl think she slept her way through the top.

Lincoln is such an arsehole even when fighting his feelings for Ivy. There are plenty moments when you wanna slap them both but when you learn Linc's reason for all the damage he is doing your heary actually breaks for him.

These twp together are real MAGIC. They are made for each other. They complement each other. They fit. Its 100% Ying to His Yang. Their chemistry is off the Fucking Charts Hotttttt.

Grab this book now and I promise you won't be sorry you Lost couple hours being addicted to this story.

The Executive completely sucked me in from the start. I love a good boss/employee romance, and this was that with a bit of a darker twist and an almost enemy to lovers feel to it, all wrapped up into one angsty, drama-filled story.

Lincoln and Ivy's relationship, both professional and personal, was one constant roller coaster ride of emotion. I enjoyed the back and forth, and push and pull between them. This story is not hearts and roses and unicorns. Lincoln is demanding and condescending and rude, but there is clear chemistry between he and Ivy, and thankfully for him, she felt connected enough to him to want to try and peel back the layers.

The writing in this book flowed well and the story was engaging. I read this book in one sitting and would definitely recommend it.

I have quickly become a KI Lynn fan, her words keep me intrigued from beginning to end!

The Executive is a hot and steamy office romance but it's so much more than that. This book has secrets, lies, lust and love. I loved the characters! Lincoln and Ivy have amazing chemistry and there is so much depth to the story. I absolutely love when a book has my mouth hanging open and this story has an amazing twist that will do just that.

KI Lynn's "The Executive" had it all going on. I couldn't get enough of Lincoln and Ivy's story. It contained all of the ingredients to make a thrilling romance that I wholeheartedly recommend.
Heat ✔️
Heart ✔️
Angst ✔️
Passion ✔️
Addictive plot ✔️
Brilliant writing ✔️

Lincoln and Ivy's relationship didn't have the best of starts. Ivy was employed as the new assistant to Mr Lincoln Devereux, a moody and arrogant CEO. Ivy and Lincoln clashed big time resulting in pages of angst, however there was also a ton of chemistry between the pair. A heat that was simmering away whilst Ivy and Lincoln continued to argue. I just knew that this couple were going to be on fire together and I was right. As soon as they lit that match, they were combustible. I was hooked on their passion and their growing love.

"You mend the pieces, put me back together,
make me a man again, and you do it effortlessly."

As well as Lincoln and Ivy's passionate love, there was also a secondary story with a plot that had me wondering and second guessing. Let's just say that Lincoln had a few secrets that I knew could come between Lincoln and Ivy. I dreaded anything bad to happen to ruin their blossoming love. I was getting more and more apprehensive the further on I got, especially as Lincoln and Ivy's relationship became more serious. Lincoln was such a swoon-worthy leading man and Ivy was so likeable. I saw how much they truly meant to each other and I was fully invested in the couple's romance. It definitely made for some exciting reading.

"She was the saviour of our story. The mighty queen protecting the fallen king and,
in the end, ruling the kingdom together."

With this book KI Lynn has created a brilliantly written, steamy office based romance that completely consumed me. It easily gets my first five stars of the year.

This was a smoking hot office romance with a side of revenge. Lincoln is a hard man to work for. He’s got some serious hate fire in his belly for Ivy’s old boss and he’s super cranky towards Ivy, like all the time. It was cool to see Ivy stand up for herself because it made some great tension and chemistry between them. It was entertaining to see how Ivy and Lincoln were going to work things out. I really enjoyed this their story.

From the very first word, I was intrigued. From the very first chapter I was hooked. From the very first meeting I was devoted. From the very first connection I was owned. To the very end I was undone. Completely blindsided by the intense adoration I have for these characters in such a short time. Completely overwhelmed by the high standard in which the characters were presented. Their complexities were cleverly displayed and intrigued me endlessly. I loved delving into the mind of the sexy, tall and  dastardly delicious CEO, and observed how he was brought to his knees by the beautiful Ivy. He met his match with her. Her intelligence, honour and wit broke the tremendous walls he created and rendered him useless against her innocent charm.

K. I. Lynn brings an unforgettable love story that has bumps, ugliness, mayhem and the most blinding beauty. A love so descriptive, you swear you were living it. A stunning story that I cannot forget and will not forget. A beautiful memory. 5 stars.

The Executive is steamy oh so steamy. I’m sure my kindle wanted to smoke a cigarette and have a sandwich. The chemistry between Lincoln and Ivy was off the charts. They gave as good as they took from each other. In the office and in the bedroom. They are a force. A king who wants to rule his empire with a queen at his side.

Ivy worked for the worst boss possible. He sexually harassed her and basically treated her like trash. The final straw came when another employee propositioned her. She set out for an interview with Dante Kilgore’s competitor Lincoln Davenport when she crashes into a man when she comes out the elevator and sparks fly. This is the man she learns she is interviewing with. With the position secured feelings develop but she tries to keep Lincoln at a distance. Finally, walls come down and they crash into each other and fireworks ignite. Little does she know while the feelings between the two are genuine she’s just a pawn in a much bigger game.

Lincoln is ruthless and hates Dante Kilgore with a fiery passion. They have a history that dates to college and Lincolns sister London. When he hires Ivy Prescott on paper, she’s the perfect assistant but she has a link to his enemy. She starts off as collateral damage then becomes someone he wants to protect at all cost even if it means her hating him. She challenges him and doesn’t back down to his demands. Which let’s be honest are very strict. He realizes he wants Ivy to be the queen ruling his empire by his side. He just hopes they don’t crash and burn before they have a chance to really take off.

I like that Ivy and Lincoln had a common thread. I understood the need for revenge but man the damage was brutal. It took me a bit to like Lincoln he is the true definition of alpha male. If that bothers you then maybe this book isn’t for you. Yet Ivy wasn’t a withering flower taking his bull either. She went toe to toe with the beast. This book has so much naughty times but it also has an air of mystery and love sweet love. I was glad I took a chance on this book and glad I got the chance to read it. I love Ivy and Lincoln.

From the first page I was hooked, Lincoln is a sexy CEO but with an attitude that will make anyone turn the other way around, but when he meets Ivy everything just more intense, he makes Ivy's life worse than she ever imagine, Nothing seems to be nice about her new job and her boss has become the devil itself, until she straightens up and meets him at his level. Lincoln has no idea what is happening until he finds himself torn between revange and love. This book will keep you wrapped until the end, you will be pulled into the story until you are done. A definitely 5 star book you must read.

This is a steamy office romance like I haven’t read in a long time! With office romances, there’s always a risk of falling into clichés, but not in this book.

Ivy Prescot is PA to the CEO of a large software company. She loves her job, but despises her boss. He’s a grade A douche who thinks women owe him sex, and continues to proposition her, despite her firm rejections. Continuously overlooked for promotions, it’s no wonder she is applying for a position with a rival company.

From the start, there is an insane attraction with her new boss. She is determined to maintain a professional relationship, though, so she keeps her distance. However, as we all know, you can only resist attraction for so long before something makes you combust, and there is no difference here.

Lincoln Devereux is very successful in his line of work, and drive to become the market leader in his field. His drive to destroy his nemesis’ rival business stems from a deep seated urge for revenge, which sometimes clouds his judgment. At first he thinks he can use his attraction to Ivy to his advantage, but over time, he develops deeper feelings for her and wants to protect her from the fallout of his plan. You can probably imagine how this complicates matters.

Ivy is lovely. She’s comfortable in her own skin, knows her worth, and enjoys working hard at a job she’s good at. She stands her ground and doesn’t put up with anyone’s bullshit, but always in a respectful way. I really liked her.

Lincoln is a bit of an enigma. He’s got the whole “successful CEO, handsome and intimidating” vibe going on, but there’s also a vulnerability, which he hides behind bravado and revenge. He’s smoldering hot, but when he opens up and let’s Ivy in, he becomes all the more endearing. This is emphasized even more when his morals surrounding his revenge plot change. His growth as a character is remarkable, and definitely worth the effort.

The supporting characters are also well-written, and offer valuable contributions to the storyline. Dante is an absolute sleazebag, and written in a way that will make you shudder in disgust.

All in all, this is definitely a book worth picking up. Just make sure you’ve got some privacy for the steamier scenes.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

From the moment I first saw her, Ivy Prescot has been a bad ide. Strong willed, beautiful, intelligent-she is my perfect storm. The attraction is palpable, undeniable. The problem is she's the assistant to the CEO of a hundred milion dollar company. She's my assistant. The other problem? She was previously the assistant to my rival and the man I have sworn to destroy at all cost. I need her to achieve my goal, but I will rip apart anyone that stands in my way. In the game of crushing kings of men, I never planned on my heart being a sacrifice. Everything is in mothion, unable to be stopped. I cn only haope that when the dust settles she will forgive me.

This is the story of Lincoln, the CEO of a major company and he is determiend to domiate the field and destroy the competition.....literally. He also has some major secrets that he holds close and doesn't let anyone know ever. Ivy is a strong willed, gives as good as she gets kind of girl who has worked for five years for Lincoln's competiiton. She was his right hand, his assistant and it just so happens that Lincoln has been looking for an assistant for months. When he saves Ivy from falling in the loby there is some serious swoon worthy moments between them and the attraction is both mutal but also smoking hot. And, when Ivy interviews for the job she gets it and Lincolin is determined to keep her at arms length by get close enought her that she can get her to expell her secrets on her old boss. Who by the way is a huge pervert and thinks that every woman in the world wants him and he treats his female employees like sex objects. This is the story of revenge and secrets. Lust and Love and most of all following the heart that you had forgotten you had. I loved every second of this book and couldn't put it down. I rooted for these guys and was surprised at the secrets that Lincoln held. There is just no way to figure out everything that he is hiding and the secrets he hold. Go and grab this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The Executive really lit my fire!! It’s such a good book, I love a good enemies to lovers/office romance story and KI Lynn exceeded my expectations.

Lincoln and Ivy’s story is the perfection combination of romance, drama, revenge and hotter that hell sex. I loved these two characters as Lincoln was a certified jerk and boss from hell and Ivy was a smart, no nonsense exceptional woman who had no problem putting Lincoln in his place. The Executive’s plot is full of depth, consistent and well written. It’s a definite must read!!

4.5* Coffee Stars

I was very excited when The Executive arrived on my kindle, not only is the cover sexy as sin but I love K.I. Lynn’s writing. You know that you will be in for a sexy treat.

The Story of Ivy and Lincoln did not disappoint. The attraction between Ivy, who is Lincoln’s new office assistant is instant however Ivy will not give in to this chemistry between them as she want their relationship to be as professional as possible. Her reasons for this are that her previous douchebag boss was forever trying to get her to have sex with him.

Lincoln is finding this very frustrating and his behaviour towards Ivy is very demanding and curt. I loved the way Ivy stood her ground and gave it back to Lincoln but also had a caring side to her.

Their relationship develops slowly over time whilst both are keeping secrets from each other and heartache they have suffered.

The story flowed well; it was steamy as well as having some sensitive sadness to it.

I highly recommend this wonderful, sometimes funny, forbidden office romance.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Many thanks to the author K.I. Lynn.

If you love office romances you will love The Executive. I couldn't get enough of Ivy and Lincoln. You will fall in love with the broken of a man Lincoln is. You feel his pain once his past get revealed. You will love how much Ivy stands up for herself and doesn't let anyone steamroll her. Ivy and Lincoln have this amazing attraction that you feel from the start. It is so much fun watching them both fight their feelings and the working relationship they have. Ivy is just amazing in every way. You can't help but to see why these two are perfect together. I absolutely loved The Executive and couldn't put this one down. It is a sexy fun read that you will love so much. This is one red hot office romance that needs to be read.
