Extra Credit is a short and super steamy novella written by Mary Elizabeth. If you are a fan of teacher/student romances and want a quick and sexy read, this is one you definitely need to pick up!
Samantha Grey is a teacher who’s back to teaching at her alma matter only 4 years after graduating herself. Most of the students are enamored with her, but one student in particular has taken a special interest in her. An eighteen year old senior named Troy.
This novella got to the point rather quickly. I wish there would have been a little more of a build up, as well as a more fleshed out ending, but that’s the way shorter novellas are. I always love Mary Elizabeth’s writing and if you’re looking for a forbidden novella, I recommend this one!

I have SERIOUS problems with this story.
I’ve got my receipts, and my ranting typing fingers ready.

Extra Credit: A Teacher & Student Romance is a forbidden steamy novella written by Mary Elizabeth and Laurie West.
Premise: With a four year age gap, the only thing stopping their lust is the small fact that Samantha is Troy’s grade 12 English teacher. And thus their forbidden steamy adventure begins...
Triggers: grooming, predatory behavior
Good things: I appreciate the uncommon side of this trope and even relationship power balance with the woman being the teacher, and the man/boy being the student. Their relationship progressed and developed throughout the story. The word choice was easy, and bingeable which is essential for novellas.
Not good things: My main issue wasn’t the forbidden controversial trope, I love other novels that have this same trope, my issue is the main character.
She’s arrogant, dumb, and predatory.
Dare I say, even bordering on grooming. And by that I mean, in which the way she talks about teaching Troy, not English, but sexually. Forming his views and acts of intimacy to fit her desires. To be clear, there is a difference between showing someone what you like, and molding their “teaching” of these acts.
(I have direct quotes later on.)
That, in addition, to him failing her class which thus gives her power over him, results in the main character coming off very predatory.
Troy, as a character is a little flat. Sweet and with puppy-dog love intentions, yet also manly, but in physic alone? Honestly, he felt very boyish, which is fair since he is only 18. That being said, for a short story, it wasn’t the worst and worked to benefit the storyline and trope, but wasn’t super credible.

The entire novella seemed to push her narrative of being soooooo absolutely the perfect sex symbol for every student, I mean even all the girls turned gay for her, and then offended all “real” (aka plus 18) adults because she knows how hot she is, and is entitled to flaunt it no matter where she is.
Cuz professionalism is dead?
OR maybe, you can only get students to learn and enjoy Shakespeare if it’s taunt by a sexy woman is short dresses showing her boobs. Yeah, that makes sense. It makes her come off as irresponsible, arrogant, childish, and manipulative. Why would we want that in an MC?
I’d recommend this book for people who enjoy the teacher-student trope this book may be for you. Another author who did this very well (even better in my opinion) was Giana Darling in her first book of the Fallen Men series Lessons in Corruption.

When it comes down to it, I think there’s a good way you can go about forbidden romance/teacher-student romance without making the main characters come off as bad people. This book did not accomplish that. I have to believe either this author was bullied and hates pretty women because they must be arrogant and manipulative. Or she’s trying to live out her 16-year-old fantasy of being sassy, and crazy desirable by all people. Either way, not great. Ther are so many novellas out there, this isn’t worth the 1$ on kindle.

This novella was AMAZING. Mary Elizabeth -writing as Gigi Thorne- can do no wrong. As we all know I’m obsessed with Mary’s work. She can write under a million different names and I know I’d love her books all the same.
Extra Credit was all types of deliciousness. It was so fucking sexy. I loved it. If you love a student teacher forbidden story that’s HOT AS HELL do yourself a favor and read this short story!

**FULL REVIEW**
Wow.
I always love the opportunity to read an author I adore...and with this story, Mary Elizabeth (one of the authors who write under the Gigi Thorne pen name) has hit it out of the park.
It’s been a minute since I’ve read and enjoyed a hot little number like this, the storyline complete. The plot perfect in its execution, and the characters developed enough for the length of this book.
But...
I ABSOLUTELY WANT MORE OF SAMANTHA AND TROY!!!
I felt every detail of this story through my entire body, and while I remember Mary Elizabeth’s writing from previous stories, I’m never quite prepared for the way her prose affects me. And I love every single second of it.
Now, about the story:
It was perfect. This breathes life into a fantasy that one may not even realize they have...or maybe they do as they feel their cheeks redden with possibility. Even the best rule follower might bend to this one.
I will absolutely be picking up other books by this author, the exploration of various writing styles under one pen name will be fun!

This is a cute short romance between a student and teacher. Samantha is just 4 years older than her student Troy. She teaches English and Troy is failing her class. He asks for extra credit but not the usual extra credit, he wants to have sex with her. Samantha agrees to playing around with him but soon realizes he is all she thinks about. Troy is will do anything to spend time with her, the closet, the classroom but she's worried about getting caught. Troy only has 4 weeks of school left and he wants to date her when he graduates. Scared and fighting her feelings she decides to break it off, but can she stick with it? I enjoyed this book and if you need something quick to read this is the book for you.

My book bestie recommended me this short instalust/love story as the refresher needed between those stories that sticks with you and as always she was right.

Student-teacher is one of my favorite forbidden stories. This one did not disappoint!

Samantha Gray returns to her old high school as a teacher four years later. Trying to keep boundaries between herself and the students is hard with there being very little age difference for them. Her class is one of the better classes for the school because of how she teaches. The students talk about what they'd like to do to her in sexual ways and her colleagues talk about how she looks and dresses. Samantha just tries to do the best she can for her students so when Troy is failing her class but passing all his others she holds him after class to discuss it. Troy is attracted to his teacher however his attraction started way before she was ever a teacher back to when she was student in this same school. Troy knows what he wants and its Samantha and he won't stop until he has her. Will being together cause a scandal for the both of them? Or will this just be a hot fling?
This was a steamy hot story that will keep your attention from beginning until the end. The chemistry between Samantha and Troy s off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this to any book lover.

Samantha Grey had been a senior at the high school she now teaches at just four short years ago. She dresses a little bit risky for a high school teacher but she loves teasing all the students. Troy Murillo is now a senior in high school, but he remembers Ms. Grey when she was a senior at that same high school. Troy is failing Ms. Grey's English class and is in jeopardy of not graduating if he doesn't start doing his homework. Ms. Grey tells Troy to meet her after school so they can discuss his options. During the meeting Troy basically tells her that her body is distracting him and he needs tutoring after school. Troy's idea of tutoring is not the traditional type of tutoring. He wants Ms. Grey and has ever since seeing her at school when he was a freshman and she was a senior. Grab this super sexy, sassy book to find out what kind of Extra Credit Troy will have to do to pass Ms. Grey's class. Definitely a must read.

So good that I bought my own copy too to support the author!! Meet Troy and his English teacher, Miss Gray [aka Samantha] as they get to know each other far more intimately than she ever expected! She's graduated from Willow High School just four years ago but now she's back as a teacher who is excellent and very popular. But troy has had his eyes on her since four years ago and he has been biding his time so that once he turned 18 he could let her know how he felt about her. This is another fabulous, steam, some might say very naughty, school story of a young male and his young female teacher. He is the dominant one in the relationship but he is also so very caring. I loved how this story played out and urge you to read it for yourself. have your fans/ac set to max cool as things are about to get HOT. A must have page turner. i read this book as part of an arc program. This was a short and very steamy taboo romance between a teacher and her student. This is a different take on this because the teacher is a young woman and the student is a male. Samantha Gray is new to teaching and is only four years older than her students. When Miss Gray started teaching at her former high school, she found herself enjoying the attention of the students. When Troy was failing her class but doing very well in all of his others, Miss Gray asked him to stay after class. When he told her he was distracted by her body, she was shocked, but when he said he turned 18 three months before, she decided to give him extra tutoring. When they began in secret affair, Troy wanted more, but Samantha was too scared. I enjoyed this story, i thought the chemistry between Troy and Samantha was great. I thought Troy was mature and knew what he wanted. Samantha was confused and i think she really wanted to be with Troy but was scared. Good one.

All of the build-up and anticipation has really happened before this book even opens up, so the story takes off running from the very beginning. It’s a naughty take on the teacher/student taboo that twists the expected just a little by making our heroine the teacher and our hero her student. There’s not a lot to this hot little book, but it manages to pack a surprising amount about both Samantha and Troy in it’s short length. The story also has some wonderfully sweet moments mixed in with the passionate ones.

I’m not sure…
I feel like the whole student/teacher relationship trope is either a hit or miss. It’s hard to ride the line of taboo romance.
While the overall writing is okay, the teacher absolutely came across as predatory. And I get it, the whole point of these kinds of books is that it touches on the forbidden, but even between Miss Grey teetering on how she can’t be with Troy but she wants to be, she also talks about how she enjoys being the object of obsession with her students. She dresses inappropriately to keep their attention and flaunts herself to make herself feel better.
I’ve read a lot of teacher/student romances, but there are hardly any with the reverse age gap. This one just kind of made me feel icky.

If you love naughty, steamy, forbidden romances this book is for you. Troy and Samantha's story is taboo in all the right ways. Filled with sizzling chemistry, blazing heat, naughty talk and plenty of scorching scenes, your temperature will rise and you will sweat and squirm. There is more than just heat though, as Troy has been crushing on Samantha for years and he's in it for the long haul, not just a grade. A really fun and hot romance. I am posting a completely honest, voluntary review.

A naughty, sexy, fun, steamy and passionate story. It is well written with nice storyline and plot. Short and easy to read. Would have liked it to be longer. Samantha is the teacher and Troy her student. She is only four years his senior so it is not that much of an age gap.
They have a lot going on but will they get caught by others? Can they really make their attraction get the best of them?
The characters are well described and has a great chemistry and passion.
Absolutely worth the read.

Extra Credit by Gigi Thorne is not what I expected. I automatically assumed it would be a male teacher and a female student but it's a older woman younger man romance. I was dissapointed but still read it, and I ended up really liking it. I will continue to follow Gigi Thorne and loom forward to more stories!

A wonderful short story to read .. the roles were reversed once. A teacher and a male student. It reads easily, time line is easy to follow. Chemistry came off the pages well and the hot scenes too. From me 4 stars .. very easy.

Oh wow this storyline was amazing. Samantha Gray is an English teacher at her old High School. A senior in her class remembers her from when she use to be a senior and he was a freshman. I Highly Recommend this book for over 18 DUE TO CONTENT.
