In the summer of 1890, London’s society is divided between those who have nothing and those who have too much. For the latter, the season is about to begin. A time when wealth is flaunted and marriage becomes a hunting sport.
At twenty years of age, Lady Hazel Whitmore is on the verge of being thrown into marriage with a stranger of her father’s choosing. When an insidious plan is uncovered, Hazel finds her life threatened and her world turned upside down. With nowhere to go, her brother sends her to the one person he hopes will keep her safe.
From the moment she lays eyes on the enigmatic Samuel Buchanan, she realizes that she is in over her head. Removed from the only life she knows, Hazel finds a whole new world at her fingertips. One full of passion, danger, and desire.
The past, however, is never far away, and hers are not the only secrets being kept.
As everything around her unravels, Hazel is forced to discover just how far she’s willing to go for love.
From the moment when she believed that the worlds inside the television were real, Kelly St-Laurent has run away with her imagination.
Born in one of the most beautiful corners of the planet, she spent her childhood inspired by the mountains and oceans of New Zealand, constantly wondering about the places beyond the horizon. At age nineteen she decided to find out and hopped a plane to Canada. And, so began her love affair with the Great White North, that has come to be her second home.
Prior to writing her first novel in 2016, Kelly worked as a production coordinator in visual effects where she got to help bring fairies, dragons and monsters to life.
Kelly currently lives in Montreal with her husband, daughter, and their Shetland Sheepdog Bucky. When she isn’t writing, she’s often found re-watching her favorite films with a wine in hand.
She still believes the world inside her television is real.
