Tank
Shallow pretty boy, conceited fuckboy, immature assclown. Take your pick, they all apply to Brewer. The world is his ass buffet and we’re all on the menu. I’ve never hated anyone like I hate Brewer. But when Rebel pairs us to do a scene together, I have to admit I’m looking forward to taking all my irritation out on his...well, you get the picture. But when one scene turns into a whole fake relationship, I’m not sure we’re going to make it out of this without some bloodshed.

Brewer
Tank has got to be the most boring, stuck up ass I have ever met. That man does not know how to have fun, not even when he’s doing a scene. And if there’s one reason to smile, it’s working with me, right? All the more reason to keep my real self from him because he’d laugh me out of the room. But when we have to pretend we actually like each other, something unexpected happens. The more time we spend together, the more I see a different side of him…and dare to show a different side of me. What the hell is happening?

Tank is the second book in the Ballsy Boys Production series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it more fun reading in order. Expect plenty of laughs and a lot of sparks.

This was definitely a fun, steamy read.

With as much snark as both MC's had, I kind of expected it to be (consistently) funnier, but I liked both Brewer and Tank quite a lot.

The first book in this series had tons of sex, then backed off a bit, and finished with a bit more sensual sex. However, this one was *SEX, SEX, SEX* from start to finish -- first on-camera, then pretty much every-goddamn-where they pleased.

Flat surface? "Here, hold my beer!" ;- )

It also had plenty of feels, though, so I happily waded through the parts where the reader was knee-deep in "the pene".

The moderate angst in the story was entirely internal, with everyone wishing only good things for the potential new couple.

This was a pretty feel-good read, which I'd rate at around 3.75 stars.

With all of the talk about how big and hairy Tank was (not remotely my thing), book 1 remains my favorite, but I'd still highly recommend this book as well.

Loved this one! Enemies to lovers done so well.
I know it’s only the second book in the series but it has been so surprising in a good way. Like it’s about porn stars named the ballsy boys but the books actually have such sweet and touching love stories in them. I mean don’t get me wrong they’re really hot too, but wow they really pull at your heart strings lol

A great book if you're looking for sex between porn stars, but the plot and the MC's personalities don't have to make much sense, and there's no real connection between the MCs until the last part of the book. But yes, lots of hate-fucking, professional fucking and private fucking.

I was somehow able to suspend my disbelieve for the long time the MCs were "hating" each other, and I tried to feel somewhat of a connection. But I'm sorry, the writing just wasn't that good. Both MCs kept making abrupt decisions, said stuff that seemed overly constructed and seemed to be added only to keep even some pretense of "hate" going.
Brewer espescially kept behaving like a tool just so that Tank had reasons to still "hate" him. It didn't even fit Brewer's caring character that he hit on Rebel every time Troy was with them.

At around 60 % they finally admitted that they were friends, so obviously the author didn't force them to occasionally act like pricks anymore (*insert eye roll*). As if their personalities had changed.. ah no, wait, it was because they both discovered the other had just acted for years a certain way, when they both in reality had a different personality underneath that they both hadn't wanted to show anyone.

Sadly I never felt any attraction or connection between them until the last 25% when they started acting sweet and caring.
I did enjoy this last part of the book, though.
I loved how affectionate and sweet both MCs were, and I appreciated that there was no third act breakup and no sex-epilogue.

Ps a rec for a wonderful alternative (supernatural) porn stars romance is Porn Hub: Legend, by Marie Reynard.

"Tank" is the second book of the "Ballsy Boys" series but the first one I've read. It's fine as a standalone though there are some spoilers about the couple from the first book.

This is an enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story about two porn stars who met through the "Ballsy Boys" studio. Tank and Brewer have known each other for a few years but there is only hatred between them. It's not just a dislike, it's pure hate and the reason is nothing deep, angsty or dramatic. It's pretty simple and hollow, they hated each other at first sight because something about the other's personality bugged each of them. They didn't click and that, through time, translated to hate. They disliked each other's character and didn't make an attempt to get along.

Then they find themeselves doing a scene together and the Internet goes wild, so they agree, with the help of a sizeable bonus, to do a series of scenes together and pretend to be boyfriends in real life to increase the fans' interest. So, yes, there is also a fake-boyfriends trope here!

Slowly and through many months they begin to get to know the real person behind the porn persona and become good friends. There is attraction which they fight and try to convince theirselves that it's strictly business. The transition from enemies to friends was realistic and the portrayal of feelings was convincing. It took time and a lot of struggle before they admitted defeat and called each other a friend.

The secondary characters were interesting but because we don't know most of their stories yet we get to know them only as their porn persona and we learn little or nothing at all about their private lives. But it's okay, it hightens the excitement for the next books!

The cover was one of my least favorites, I'm glad I read the blurb and didn't abandon the book as soon as I saw the cover. Just another case of "don't judge a book by its cover". There are a few continuity errors in the story but nothing major and other than that the text was very well edited.

There isn't any description of the characters in this book and I found this weird. I'll check if they have already been described in the first book or the prequel and that's why we didn't get one here, because we got a description for a character who made his first appearance in this book.

One of the things I enjoyed most in this story is the positive atmoshpere that revolves around the porn studio. None of the guys is depressed for having that job and everyone seems to enjoy doing it. The owner and the director of the films are respectful and care about their guys and there is a friendly vibe that surrounds the whole story. These guys are each other's family and, even if they don't share many personal facts, they share strong bonds. I liked that there was no drama and no angst about what they did for a living. They weren't ashamed of it, they didn't do it out of desperation or as a last resort to make a living and they didn't feel less for earning their money doing porn. It was all painted in a very positive light and even though neither Tank nor Brewer were content to do that for the rest of their lives they were happy doing it for now and were enjoying it.

*mild spoiler*

It was a great story, low on angst, high on the humour and full of lessons about how first impressions can often be deceiving.

4.5 stars for this book about two porn stars finding love on the set!

Enemies to fake boyfriends to friends to lovers...the transition was bumpy, but the story was addicting!

While I still really enjoyed this second book in the Ballsy Boys series, some of the magic from the first book was missing here. But even with that, I really felt Brewer and Tank's chemistry and thought they fit together and balanced each other wonderfully.

Tank's need to be seen as something more than a giant brute, and Brewer's desire to be taken seriously and loved....gah, they pulled at the heartstrings.

Tank wanted people to see beyond the furry giant exterior. He wanted people to see that he was smart, sensitive, and could be a comfort and protector without using his size. And Brewer hid so much of himself behind his jokester personality. He grew up feeling invisible, discarded, overlooked...a consolation. If he acted like nothing was a big deal, maybe others wouldn't see how much he was hurting and how much he craved to be seen and to be a priority in someone's life.

Their vulnerabilities and insecurities were understandable given their history, even if their histories were underdeveloped.

And I think that was my biggest issue with this book as a whole, it felt underdeveloped and a bit slapped together.

While I love the characters and was addicted to the story, there were too many awkward and underdeveloped plot points. The use of Tank and Brewer's real names came at weird times and was inconsistent. The transition from friends to feelings was a bit fast.

And don't even get me started on the editing/grammatical errors. Poorly structured sentences and the use of wrong words had me stumbling in my reading way too many times.

Also, the words "growl" and "grumble" and any variation of those words was used with a heavy hand.

The authors give a little tease at the end of this book regarding where the series is going for the rest of the guys, and I'm not quite sure how I feel. I'm especially bummed with Bear and Pixie. At first I was super intrigued with the opposites attract and the age gap aspects, but with how childlike Pixie has been portrayed (annoyingly so in this book) and now with what looks like the added inclusion of some Daddy kink....me thinks I'd be creeped out.

Book 1 remains my favorite.

Oh I loved this, there's nothing more satisfying than a well crafted enemies to lovers romance and this one is just that.

The sparks between party boy Brewer and silent and stoic Tank were obvious in both the prequel and in book one, Rebel's romance. But here they're given full rein in their own tale of delicious chemistry and unexpected emotions.

Everything about these two characters just worked for me, from their secrets to their eventual realisation that the person they thought was the enemy could actually be their biggest supporter.

Of course they're hot and sexy together when they're not fighting and the scenes both on and off set are hugely powerful, especially when those sneaky feelings start creeping in.

I loved the set up of how they started to get to know each other better and their honesty in the relationship with no stupid angsty drama getting in the way.

Definitely my favourite in the series so far. Now I'm wondering who's up next.

Enemies to lovers.
Here it really does the theme justice.

Tank (Peter) and Brewer (Micah) hate the guts of each other and are not afraid to express it either. They more or less spontaneously combust when they are in the same room. And the dislike is real. For both of them.
However, some onlookers on their acerbic exchanges describe it more as extended foreplay. Which turns out to be right, in the best possible way.

I thoroughly enjoyed how things evolve very slowly but surely between these guys. Little steps, sometimes one step forward and two backwards, but the authors do a really great job at unraveling each of the men as they fall for each other.
What particularly did it for me was how their changing relationship is reflected in the series of videos they are making together at work! As both men are part of the Ballsy Boy team, you can expect lots of uninhibited, pleasurable sex, and alas! one first for Tank!

This is a bit more serious in tone than book 1, and more could have been made of the men’s backgrounds, but I am totally invested in the series now! Love these guys, and it’s awesome to remeet Rebel from book 1 and see how well he’s doing in his new job.

Definitely recommended.

An enemies to fake boyfriends to friends to lovers story with plenty of sex on and off the set and plenty of secrets. Tank and Brewer are both hiding themselves behind their porn personas, even to the people they have come to count on the most.

This story wasn't as funny and free-wheeling as the first, with a bit more internal angsting and a slow-burn romance. I have to admit that the contract condition and the way it was presented was pretty dicey to me; one moment Tank is told we'd never push you to do something you don't want and the next he was basically told "do your fucking job".

It was still an enjoyable, steamy read. The cast of Ballsy Boys the authors have developed are all intriguing in their own ways and I'm looking forward to more.

I actually cringed with the writing at some point (it's the reason I'm rounding down) and I could have done without all the hairy/ grizzly details but there's something really addictive with these books. And surprisingly, the characterization is so much on point, it's almost a character study. Very well done.

I'll definitely continue with the series.

I liked this one even more than the first one. You can read it as a stand alone, but I always enjoy reading an entire series.

This is an enemies to lovers story between Brewer and Tank. When they discover each others hidden sides they fall inexorably into each other. Literally. Because, you know, they're porn stars.

With a little (a lot) of help from the Ballsy Boys management, they are thrown together on screen and off screen. It takes a while, but they are bound to realize they're made for each other.

This 2nd book is as hot (no, it's hotter) than the first one. Add in the sweet slow burn romance and it's for sure a winner.

4.5 stars instead of 5 because there are way too many typos in this published book

Tank , book 2 in The Ballsy Boys Series is a funny, smutty and soapy, enemies to lovers , MM, romance story with a delightfully happy ever after and a sweet fitting epilogue.

Kenneth Obi narration fit the tone Tank is written. Exuberant , fast paced , friendly and at times , OTT effusive and dramatic. Hey, this is a tale about hot Porn Stars after all . His portrayal of Peter aka Tank and Micah aka Brewer matches with their personalities and behavior.

Overall is an uncomplicated, light hearted and hot listen. Plot wise is predictable yet entertaining. I liked it.

Ohhhh man, I thought I wasn’t going to like this story much based on the way Brewer was acting in the previous books. He’s the fuckboy, the dude who flirts with everyone and has an endless string of guys hanging all over him every time he goes out. He’s also always making sexual innuendos all the time. I can see why Tank felt irritated at him for that.

The thing is - that’s not really who Brewer is. It was just a persona he’s been using since he was a kid to mask a lot of hurt. I was shocked at what happened when he was younger because I didn’t see that coming at all. And it was pretty much the same situation with Tank. Just because he was a big bear of a dude with muscles for days, everyone assumed he wasn’t a sensitive guy and was a strict top. Plus every guy only wanted him for that and not for a relationship. He was lonely. 😭😭

I’m suuuuuper glad the scenes on set in this book only involved Brewer and Tank together and neither of them did any scenes with anyone else. So in that respect it was different from the previous book and it felt like they were more “committed” to each other, even if it was only per a contract for a set amount of scenes.

But... I didn’t like reading about Brewer coming on to Rebel and Troy asking for a threesome (even if he meant it in a joking way) or the reference to the past when Rebel and Brewer hooked up off set quite often and in a more than friendly type of way. I felt the jealously come off of Tank and even Rebel’s boyfriend Troy during those times. I didn’t really like it.

There’s also the fact that both Brewer and Tank decided to continue their work with Ballsy Boys which would include scenes with the other guys. After their declaration of love and deciding to be in a “real relationship” it just felt off to me. But I’m pretty sure that’s my own personal preference coming out so I’m trying not to let it sway my opinion of the book too much. It’s hard for me to read about the characters being intimate with other people so it’s definitely a hang up of mine.

Still, I reeeeeally enjoyed this story. I couldn’t put this down and I’m excited to read about the other Ballsy Boys.

I liked this soooo much better than book 1. Both Brewer and Tank are absolutely dickish to each other. Their chemistry was off the charts hot. I really liked how they slowly began to reveal their “real” selves to each other beyond the characters they portrayed to everyone else. Their blossoming romance was subtle. It wasn’t instant. I really liked that. They allowed themselves to show vulnerability. It was sweet to watch. Even when they themselves had no clue.

I’m very glad that I was encouraged to keep reading this series. I’m now looking forward to the next book.

Original Read: Oct 2022

Rating: 4.5 stars (rounded up)

I loved this so much!! I went into it with low expectations so I'm not only shocked that it met those expectations but it blew my expectations out of the water. I was worried it would be bland and predictable with the usual porn star/sex worker tropes but the authors surprised me at every turn! The MCs were fantastic, their relationship development was done incredibly well and I loved every choice that the authors made.

Full disclosure: was the writing amazing? No. These authors are firmly in the average category - not terrible but also not great. There were many awkward sentences (like the ones where the authors insisted on using the word 'merely' when it didn't fit or didn't even make sense to use it) and the authors can't write action scenes properly so the few sequences where things were happening quickly were way too rushed and generally badly written. I did remove 0.5 stars for these issues but I loved the story too much to truly care.

My favorite aspect was Tank and Brewer's characterizations. I liked that they're both experienced porn stars who have been in the industry for a while so there was zero conflict regarding them being sex workers, which is such a nice change from the normal way the trope is done. Neither of them went into porn due to mental health issues or having no other choices so there was zero victim mentality surrounding them. I loved that they both got into porn because they're also taking college classes and the flexible studio hours and high pay means they'll both graduate without student loans and they both decided that's a worthwhile reason for doing porn for a few years. Porn isn't either of their career choice, they're both planning on quitting once they're done their studies but at the same time, they're fully dedicated to being professional while they're doing the job and doing their best. I loved this mature take on the situation!

Connected to that, I loved how the authors set up the schooling situation with both MCs.

This whole thing tied in so well to showing how professional they both are when it comes to doing porn shoots. They weren't happy to be paired up for a 10-shoot series but they both want the money so when it's time to shoot, they put aside their dislike of each other and they're purely professional. I especially loved how . I know a lot of readers probably hated that part but I loved it because it's a realistic situation that's so rarely done in romance books featuring sex workers. Everything about this really worked for me and I love that the authors chose to do this.

I also liked how similar Tank and Brewer were. Both of them present a façade to everyone around them because that makes dealing with people easier. Tank is a huge, strong man who isn't very social and looks incredibly intimidating. Since he doesn't like people, it works in his favor that most people dismiss him as being a braindead caveman who's only good for intense sex and physical fights but nothing else. For Brewer, he's a classic example of someone who grew up with neglectful parents and as a result, he's learned that acting out by being the class clown and party boy will get him the attention he craves, even if that attention is surficial. I loved the contrast between these characterizations but I also loved how the authors slowly had Tank and Brewer discover the real versions of the other person and how this changed their relationship.

Connected to that, I really enjoyed how well Tank and Brewer's situations merged together. They're both lonely but driven individuals who long to find a partner to share their lives with but they're plugging along and doing things on their own because that's how things are. But once they start finding out they have things in common and they get accidental peeks beneath each other's facades, they're both so happy to finally have a partner in their lives. Not only do they love having somebody who supports them but they also genuinely like being able to take care of somebody else. The sweetest moments in the story were things like . Their joy at having found somebody who cares about them, respects them and likes the real them was so heartwarming!

On that note, I couldn't stop smiling at the many creative ways that the authors found to bring Tank and Brewer together, even if that was the last thing they wanted. Whether they're uniting to or randomly meeting in , none of the situations were forced and they created wonderful bonding opportunities. These guys go from enemies to colleagues who respect each other to work buddies (in the studio and during class) to friends to fake lovers to roommates to real lovers. Every single step felt natural and I loved everything about it (the pacing, the scenes the authors chose, the use of the side characters and Tank's precious dog Shaggy etc).

Another great way that authors showed the progression of the relationship was through the use of their various nicknames for each other (which is something I always love). . The way the authors chose which names the MCs used for each other was a perfect way to show the development of their romance and this was done so perfectly throughout.

What was also great was how the authors used sex scenes in this book. Since it's a book about porn stars, there are a lot of sex scenes but it was clear to me that the authors worked hard to differentiate between the different types of scenes. There were the professional porn shoots which had a clinical and distant feel to them, there were the casual sex encounters between Tank and Brewer when they just craved sex and then there were the more meaningful sex scenes that advanced their bond . The authors did such a great job acknowledging that these guys have sex as a job so the majority of sex related things (including kissing) weren't a big deal to either of them. Kind of like they had become desensitized to those things. But some of the things that they didn't do during porn shoots, like holding hands, hugging or having sex face to face were things that had enormous emotional meaning for both of them.

I could go on and on. Seriously, this book blew me away. Nearly everything about it was so incredibly well done and it surpassed every expectation I had.

This is my third time reading Tank because this book has so much going for it! Porn stars, grumpy/sunshine, enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, what more could we ask for? It’s absolutely my favourite book of the series and you can definitely read as a standalone but the rest of the series was great too!

Tank and Brewer are 🔥🔥🔥! In every single aspect! Their sexual tension could not get any better. And watching them open up to each other and see a side of the other that no one else sees was amazing. I loved how Tank took care of Brewer!

Like in every fake dating story one of my favourite things was when they finally realized they had feelings for the other. It had so much emotion to it which is not something you would expect from a book about porn stars! Their HEA was perfect for them!

I listened to the audiobook this time and I definitely recommend the audio. No matter how you choose to devour it this book is absolutely a must-read! I know this will not be my last time reading that’s for sure!

Love, Love, LOVED this one 💙💚💛💜🖤. A slowburn enemies to lovers romance with several puddle of goo moments as far as I was concerned, and the old watery stuff 😢 leaking from my eyes. 4.5 well deserved stars from me.

Yes, surprise surprise, porn stars do actually have feelings together with those facades they hide behind, and when you finally get to see the 'real' person behind the porn mask...well, as Micah [Brewer...we never did get to discover how he got his porn name did we??] and Peter [Tank] found out, they are sometimes a person you can fall in love with even though you don't particularly like the porn persona. Both discovered things about the other that no-one else at Ballsy Boys knew, cause they'd never felt the need to open up about their true selves. Porn is all about the pretence and not revealing who you really are isn't it?? It's a job.

Hope that sweetie Pixie does eventually get his dream Daddy, and looking forward to discovering Heart's secrets in the next story Heart, but first I'll be reading the free prequel Ballsy.

I really loved this one ... there was a level of sweetness & empathy that I really liked. There’s a great moral to this story - not judging a book by its cover, and by taking some time to really understand what makes some people tick. We all have insecurities and fears which often results in false bravado... this book was really well done in bringing enemies to friends to lovers ❤️

Now I'm really glad that I gave this series another chance because I enjoyed reading this book way more than the previous one.
I love a well done enemies to lovers romance as well as the fake boyfriends trope and here I got an entertaining enemies to fake boyfriends to friends to real lovers story. 😊
For one Tank and Brewer hated each other's guts and in general they were both hiding their true selves from each other and the world. Brewer playing the clown for everyone, always showing a cocky attitude. In contrast to Tank who seemed unable to word more than some gruff growls.
It was so beautiful to see them discover in each other the real person behind the show they both played for everyone. Loved it! 🥰

So much better than the first book, Rebel! All of my issues with the writing in that one (time jumps then summarizing, short sex scenes with little detail, telling us depth but not showing it on page) were not present in this one.

I actually connected with the MCs and felt their love this time. It was a fabulous enemies-to-lovers slow burn with a fake relationship thrown in. There was some moderate angst, comfort/healing over issues from their pasts, and steam that was off the charts. Is there a lot of sex? Absolutely. However, I didn't feel that it was OTT and instead appropriate considering this revolves around two porn stars shooting multiple scenes together. And, much to my delight, they were written with much more detail than Rebel. I may or may not have racked up over 120 highlights if that gives you any indication of how much I loved it.

One thing I will say is that for full enjoyment of the story, I think you should read Rebel first. Throughout it, the hatred between Tank and Brewer is built up and you get to see them interacting on-page. Tank jumps almost straight into their first sex scene together with little explanation of why they hate each other, with much of it being told to you. I don't feel that I would have enjoyed this as much if I hadn't read Rebel first as I had that entire book to make me anticipate Tank and Brewer's first shoot together. In Tank, it is shown to you throughout the book but comes after the sexual part begins.

Each MC was developed well and had deep-rooted issues from their childhoods. Brewer suffered a great loss when he was young and it deeply affected how his parents treated him, making him feel unwanted. Tank was only seen by his parents as a tool they could use to help themselves. This wasn't heavy on comfort/healing, but I did appreciate how the two helped each other overcome the fears that their pasts had inflicted.

I loved that each man slowly discovered the other was nothing like he had perceived him to be. They had hated each other for years based solely on first impressions. Tank thought Brewer was a conceited, selfish fuckboy who had brushed him off the first time they met. Brewer thought Tank was a grumpy asshole who had a stick up his ass. Little did they know, each was hiding their true personality and lives from the Ballsy Balls group. Brewer (Micah) works at a hospital as a CNA and is in college working towards his dream of getting into med school. Tank (Peter) is in college as well, almost finished with a dual degree in engineering and architecture.

We get to see all of the Ballsy Boys which I enjoyed. Romantic storylines with these supporting characters are being developed seemingly simultaneously as the books go on, meaning all of the books are happening almost at the same time. For that reason, I think it's best to read them in order. Also, for any Bear/Pixie hopefuls, there is an exciting development in their relationship at the end of this book. I think that's the one I'm most excited for!

🗽 'He’s...infuriating. He’s got a huge stick up his ass and not the good kind. God, he’s so damn serious all the time. This is one guy who does not know how to have a good time, maybe with the exception of when he’s fucking. Even then, he’s too fucking intense. Would it hurt him to smile every now and then? I mean, being balls deep in another man would be a prime reason to show some fucking teeth, right? Nope, not Tank. He just gets this dark look and fucks even harder.'

🗽Tank reaches out with a lightning fast move and grabs my wrist. With one pull, he yanks me against him. He’s only maybe an inch taller than me, but suddenly I feel so much smaller, like a boy compared to this man. “See, once again you show you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.”
His right hand is still holding my wrist, but his left snakes around me and taps my hole in an incredibly degrading move. “You’re the asshole...and I’m the dick, remember?”

🗽 “We both know you’ll bend over for me any time I say the word.”
“In your dreams!” I spit out.
Tank’s hand moves from my ass to my cock, and he grabs it so hard it’s bordering on painful. “You wanna tell me that again when your cock isn’t rock hard at the thought?”
Two can play that game, and before he knows it my free hand is on his cock, which is just as hard as mine. “You were saying?”

5 stars!

I have to say the 'porn industry' plot has never been appealing to me at all. I have read a few books like that and couldn't force myself to engage with the characters, because I simply can't understand a relationship of sorts between two pornstars. This is the place to say that K.M.Neuhold and Nora Phoenix did such an amazing job to prove me wrong and change my strong beliefs towards that trope.

This book was emotional, even sweet at times, had some amazing characters and I wasn't bored at all. The plot was interesting and I absolutely adored both MCs, which is a rare thing for me. I have to say the first few pages of this book were deceiving - both Tank and Brewer irritated me but that quickly changed. there was deepness in their characters, which was sweet and vulnerable and affected me somehow.

The enemies-to-lovers trope is something I can't refuse to read about and Tank and Brewer were excellent pulling that off. The banter was hilarious and sexy, like steamy foreplay. I couldn't wait to read more about the two of them being forced to 'work' together.

This book was an addicting read, which I truly enjoyed!
