This book was a really good book i would recommend this to people or students that are into history and art this book it's a 2 in 1.I find this book different than others because the author is an artist and his drawings explain the book pretty much and how his drawings come out really good like his colors he used and how he draws some of the events in his art .This book is unique because the author walks you through his art and instead of reading a lot of words he explains the events and draws them out and explains his art.But throughout the book their are some flaws the way he draws some jews suffering but other than this is a really good for anyone who is interested in history and art!

Genesis 4:9 then the LORD said to Cain,"Where is Abel your brother? And he said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"

This one sad verse is the first time we see what happens with jealously turns to anger, which gives birth to violence and concludes in death. The artist and author Israel Bernbaum correctly illustrates History when one man says, "Let's build a wall and put the hated Jewish race on the other side and have them pay for it." A chill ran down my spine as we have another bully on America's soil saying the same thing. Will we ever learn to say to our brothers....yes I will be your keeper? I will defend you. I will speak up for you. I will protect you no matter your race, your religion, and your ethnicity. You are created in the very image of the Creator, therefore I will be your keeper.

Powerful art displaying humans and their roll in history. Sad to yet very powerful and moving art.

This book basically consists of the author walking the reader through his paintings. His paintings focus on the Holocaust, so the book gives a general history on many aspects of the Holocaust. Though it is non-fiction and there are facts, it is very clearly one particular perspective. I could imagine having it in the class during a unit on the Holocaust or World War II. Also, his paintings are full of symbolism so it could potentially be used to look at symbolism in art. I would recommend this book to middle or high school students. Though the text is relatively simple, it deals with heavy subject matter.
