His Captive Pet

Rate this book
Aubree Stevenson isn't used to being ordered around, but then her efforts to bring down a dog fighting ring put her life in danger and she ends up in the protective custody of a stern, handsome former Marine.

Blake Turner is not a man to be trifled with, and he wastes no time in making it clear that Aubree will obey him or be punished. After she puts his word to the test, Aubree's bottom is bared for a painful, embarrassing strapping, and when she continues to defy her strict captor, she quickly discovers that he is prepared to take things much further. Soon enough, she finds herself stripped naked, outfitted with a collar and tail, and eating from Blake's hand like a well-trained pet.

To her dismay, Aubree's arousal grows more intense with every shameful display of forced submission. But even as he masters her body and claims her in every way, Blake must keep his captive pet safe from both her enemies and her own recklessness. Will he prove up to the task?

Publisher's Note: His Captive Pet is a stand-alone book which is the third entry in the Owned and Protected series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

So hot.
I don’t know why I’m on a pet-play kick right now, but this series is seriously scratching that itch for me, for sure.

I’d say this series, and Measha Stone’s books in general, fall on the darker side of the kink romance books. Dub-con is prevalent in pretty much everything I’ve read of hers so if that’s an issue for you I’d probably just skip this author altogether.
Even if that’s not something you mind, 100% you should always check TWs with this author.

Anyway. I had a really good time with this couple.
They had my face all red and snotty at the end with all the emotional shit, but I really liked their dynamic.
Plus Blake was just super swoony. I mean he was for sure sadistic and loved putting his girl in her place, but the love and care behind it all was just so freakin sweet.

On to the next for me. (Well, the one after the next since I’ve read that one already)
I can’t wait to see all the kinky shit Blake’s brother pulls.

YOU WANT THE ROUGH, THE RAGGED; YOU WANT THE DISCIPLINE AND STRENGTH

Oh, My Gosh did Ms. Measha Stone deliver with this book! While this is a series, and it does have people from book one, Protecting His Pet, and book two, Protecting His Runaway, you can read this one without being lost or feeling like you missed something. Very strong characters and interaction and oh so hot, hot, hot! The chemistry between Blake Turner and Aubree Stevenson is sizzling with eroticism.

Blake, along with his younger brother, Greg, own a bar together and Aubree comes in usually for just a coke and lime on her way home. When it is an exceptionally bad day for this veterinarian, she will add rum to that coke. Aubree had a reputation for chewing up and spitting out men, but that was before Blake enters her personal space.

Aubree has been allowed to enter secret dogfighting venues in the disguise of medically treating the dogs, and in the process can rescue a few. She is playing with danger to herself and others involved. What happens when she lies to Blake and during a bust, she is at another dogfight? The gang is going to believe she is a rat and come after her and it is Blake who will rescue and remove her from danger.

The plot will have Blake so disappointed in her lying to him. He has warned her if she went to another dogfight he would strap her and boy does he come through. He must get her to a safe area where the Pecadores can’t find her until things settle down. During the downtime, he must gain the name of her contact, and it will take punishment, humiliations, and his dominance and control to do so. Treating her like a pet is only part of it.

“He made her cry, he’d made her beg, and he’d made her come.”

The story is intense with mystery, suspense, and danger, and that includes the scenes between Blake and Aubree. He will push her to limits she has only ever fantasized about, and this isn’t any fantasy, this is real, rough, raw, and total domination.

“Your stomach is twisting right now, your mind is telling you it’s too humiliating, it’s too much, but your pussy is throbbing with need. That dark pit in your stomach, the one that’s swelling throughout your body, that’s your desire. The sooner you embrace it, the sooner all this hard stuff gets easier, and you can lose yourself in the pleasure."

The story is full of the good, the bad, and the ugly. It will take the reader on an intense BDSM journey, and you will feel like a voyeur as you watch the scenes unfold between Blake and Aubree. I think she has finally met the man who will dominate her body and her heart, and she will relish every moment of it. Giving up control to the right man will set her free and let her soar.

Anytime I pick up a story by Measha Stone I can almost always guarantee it will be a very steamy read. And this one lived up to that reputation. Aubree has good intentions but doesn't always use her head when she gets involved with trying to rescue animals from a dog fighting ring. Good thing Blake is right there to try to protect her and maybe in the process she can save him as well. This book did feature pet play in addition to BDSM themes. However, the pet play was more in terms of Aubree recognizing Blake was in control and not necessarily centered on pet play. Although it is amusing to have Aubree, a veterinarian, perhaps unwillingly participating in pet play. While this story does refer to characters from the other books in the Owned and Protected series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel.

I WILL HONESTLY SAY I'M NOT A BIG FAN ON THE WHOLE BDSM RANGE UNLESS I'M REALLY IN THE MOOD FOR SMUT. SURE IT'S HOT AS FUCK BUT SOMETIMES THE CONDITIONS THAT COME WITH THE WHOLE SUB-CULTURE MAKES ME QUEASY.

HERO is a total alpha and has been watching Aubree for awhile now ever since she started coming into his bar as a regular. Their attraction is mutual. From the moment we met him, he's pretty much pegged her down as his and when she gets caught up in unsavoury business, he pulls out all the big guns and whisks her away to a safe place. By safe I mean like a BDSM resort where he trains her. Not weird at all. Okay, this wasn't my first BDSM book but I can say that I didn't quite like how it was introduced to the heroine. Most authors would have the heroes smooth it into the heroine's lives (since it's supposed to be consensual) but here, I just felt like Blake forced it onto her (even if she does have the makings of a good submissive). He mostly let her struggle to comprehend what's going on and let's say that he's definitely not SPOON FEEDING her about the kinks. A lot of things he did to her pushed my buttons and sometimes I just feel annoyed because it meant the heroine didn't have much of a choice between humiliating herself or getting punished. It's like asking one to choose between two kinds of death but none is better.

HEROINE is an overly passionate vet who is determined to save some street dogs from a dog fight governed by the Chicago gangsters. When she happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, the bad guys believe her to be a snitch and her life is in danger. In swoops Blake who all but kidnaps her to a BDSM resort and guess what, he wasn't subtle about it at all. He never gave her a choice at all, and that annoyed me because as much as I like a take-charge guy, as an indie woman I just have the right to be pissed. It's like the sweet Blake we knew changed into someone else, though he was still caring but he's totally geared up for BDSM stuff now. No more mister nice guy. Poor Aubree was mostly confused, frustrated and damned humiliated but also sexually aroused by his actions...I don't even know how to feel about this story actually.

OVERALL this book I recommend solely for pleasure reading but if you're looking for an emotional romantic story? Then this isn't for you. This story is more focused on DUH...BDSM and I can tell you with a straight face that the relationship development was mediocre.

Wow, hot and steamy doesn't even begin to describe this sizzling read. Even better, it actually has a decent plot and well written characters.

Aubree is looking for a guy who will take control of her and Blake believes he is just the man to Master her headstrong ways. I appreciate that author's don't always want to include the discussions that would occur in a real life D/s or power exchange situation but I do prefer that they are at least alluded to. So at first I almost felt as though Aubree was being railroaded a little bit, however this following quote (and subsequent descriptions of Aubree's thoughts and feelings) did allay my 'it's not kink it's abuse' feelings.

She tried to pull free, but his fingers only dug harder into skin.
She could yell, maybe scream out the generic safeword most clubs used. People would come - they'd come to help her.
Why couldn't she do it?
In some ways it's not an easy read, as Blake forces Aubree to face and accept the desires that she denies. I will warn you that occasionally it felt (almost) non-consensual (one of these is the first 'punishment' scene at the remote log cabin). Aubree didn't protest nor did she run screaming 'help me escape this abusive kidnapper' at the first opportunity either. She stayed with Blake, fully knowing the score.

Whilst Aubree got herself into several situations through acting rather than thinking, her family history did make her 'have to save the world' attitude believable. She was meant to be a naive in this way and, in my opinion, she is still a very likeable heroine. I also liked that Blake wasn't so much an 'I always know best' Dom as much as a 'I need to keep you safe at all costs' man. With the book being written in third person, but alternating POV between Blake and Aubrey, I did feel that you could get to know both of them and see the connection between them.

This is an incredibly steamy read IF you enjoy kink/BDSM and whilst there is 'pet play' it is more as a humiliation at first. There isn't a huge amount of pet play, so if it isn't your thing you may very well still enjoy this book. It's well written, has a good plot, is easy to read, hot and very enjoyable.

I DNF at 27%. This novel was about as sexy as the Brett Kavanaugh hearings. I should start by saying that according to the standards of the genre I think this is technically well written. If the content of this story is up your alley then there is no reason not to read it. It was however, very much not for me. Highly realistic depictions of abduction, torture, and sexual assault are not my thing.

Aubree is at first depicted as a strong self-actualized adult who knows exactly what she wants but then has all of her agency stripped from her by a condescending, violent, sex offender who claims that he is doing it all for her own good. Her interest in kink is used against her to justify the sexual assault because he knows “she likes it” while her attempt to use a safe word is ignored and laughed at.

Even if I could get past that and accept that this is essentially abduction fantasy erotica, the fact that the abductor of the story is depicted as heroic and justified while the heroin is humiliated was just too disturbing for me. I’m not a delicate flower. I’ve read and enjoyed lots of dark content. Clearly lots of people love it. Maybe the dynamic improves between them after the 27% mark but there was nothing that could have redeemed it for me. I read the blurb. I’m familiar with the genre. The warning in the “Publisher’s note” could stand to be made much stronger.

I was so looking forward to Blake's story. Unfortunately, it just didn't live up to my expectations. Aubree is supposed to be a smart woman but she continually made very dumb choices and even her thought processes showed very little intelligence. She seemed to lack the ability to think or not only her safety, but the danger that she would put others in with her choices. It made her a very unlikable character.

Blake was okay for the most part, a little too whiny sometimes. The waxing scene made me cringe. Partly because when you go slow it doesn't pull the hair out as well and can cause bruising, and the bigger reason being that he licked her freshly waxed skin which introduces all sorts of bacteria. Not sexy at all.

The ending seemed rushed and was very anticlimactic. The scene of their re-connection was shorter than all of the others.

Overall, I really enjoyed this romantic, kinky tale with a HEA ending that brought me to tears.  The heat between the H and h created the proverbial panty-melting experience for me and isn't that why we read these books and not War and Peace?  I must admit that I find pet-play a fascinating fantasy to read about, especially when there is an element of dub/con between the two characters.  This book had some very delicious pet-play scenes so if that is your thing, then read this book with your favorite glass of wine. I don't want to give anything away, but picture a feisty girl (pet) and a very demanding H (Master) using pet-play to create some really heated, sexy moments.  Some of these scenes will stay with me for a long time.  Smile.

So why not 5 stars?  The story wrapped up way too fast, way too predictable and way too convenient.  The h in the story is an intelligent woman who is easy to pull for, but what she does to put herself in trouble at the conclusion of the book is outright stupid.  Still, the book and author are worth a read, especially if you want to have a front row seat for a sexy, dom/sub story that delivers high marks for kinky fun.  I did not read the books prior to this one in the series and thought it is a perfect stand alone book

Steamy, hot dominant meets stubborn, determined Vet in the third instalment of the Owned and Protected series.

Veterinarian Aubree infiltrates a dog fighting ring but her good intentions soon get her in trouble and when the police raid the warehouse she’s immediately identified as a rat. Dominant bar owner and former cop/marine Blake has a keen interests in regular patron Aubree and when he saves her from the warehouse he must take her away to protect from the Chicago gang out to get her.

We see the brief return of Devin, Kara, Trevor and Addison as Blake and Aubree take shelter at the BDSM resort with her dog Samuel. Blake has featured in both books so far and it was fun to finally see his story - I especially liked that the two main characters already had a budding relationship before Aubree decided to go against his wishes and head back in to try and save more dogs.

Both had shitty pasts, both were bleeding hearts. She was trying to save the world and he was trying to protect it. And at the end of the day I just want every book with a dog (that I know I’m going to get emotionally attached to) to come with a disclaimer telling me they’re going to be okay.

Aubree is a veterinarian seriously lacking in good sense, as she tries to save dogfight dogs one at a time. When the gang running the dogfights get busted and they find out she's been taking dogs, and come after her too. Blake, a former cop and former Marine rescues her and tries to keep her safe. In the process, we have some lovely BDSM and pet play, with Aubree in her kennel when she's not being reasonable or obedient. As with the first two books in the series (which all stand alone), we get some lovely character and relationship development over the course of the novel. I particularly enjoyed the confusion at the end, caused by lack of communication. Stone is an author to watch. She's turning out some real keepers with both her first series and with this. I can only hope there will be more to come in Owned and Protected.

His Captive Pet by Measha Stone is book Three in the Owned and Protected Series. This is the story of Blake Turner and Aubree Stevenson. I haven't read the previous books so for me this was a standalone book. Aubree is a vet who finds herself sometimes going to great lengths to save animals...like a dog fight. Blake is a former Marine is tough man who like to be in control. Blake knows that Aubree is the women for him and their attraction is off the charts. Aubree soon what it means to be Blake's women. This was a hot steamy read!

Aubree and Blake's story was so exciting to read. I love how these 2 people come together.
Blake is being very protective and Aubree, for the most part, is loving it!
This book checked all my boxes, danger, mixed with passion, and finding their true nature and partners.

Stronger BDSM

More sadistic than the other books in the stories but that is what Blake and Aubrie crave. She is a handful and stubborn as they come but he is determined to protect his pet

Measha has done a great job creating a wonderful BDSM/Pet Play book in her Owned and Protected series. Blake and Aubree are very relatable characters who have great chemistry. Blake is a swoon worthy Dom, someone who is full Dominant, protective and doesn't take no for an answer. Aubree is a strong, independent woman who doesn't rely on anyone, especially a man. She wants nothing more than to protect the animals who can't fend for themselves. While he is fighting to keep her protected, she is certain she knows how to solve the issues instead. What a great read that has a bit of humiliation, pet play, and BDSM. Loved it!

Aubree is a veterinarian and submissive who is trying to save dogs and bring down an illegal dog fighting ring. Blake is a dominant, former cop and bar owner who is trying to save Aubree from her dangerous behavior and bad decisions. He takes her out of state and into hiding to protect her from gangsters after a police raid on the fighting ring. His way is to dominate her and make her heal to his commands. Her reaction is to submit to him sexually, but resist him emotionally. This is where I have a more difficult time, consent is dubious at best and he demands complete submission. I liked Blake's protectiveness, but sometimes, not so much. Aubree was determined to resist him emotionally and save the dogs, no matter the cost to herself. There was the rub me, her immaturity and his demands fro submission. But, the book was well paced, steam was intense, and HEA.

NEVER TAKE A KNIFE🔪 TO A GUNFIGHT🔫
ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review.

Aubree💋🐕 is a veterinarian at an inner city clinic in Chicago. Lately she's been going to dog fights put on by the gang, Los Pecadores🔫🔪, and getting badly injured dogs 🐕 out to treat. Her contact is a man named Luis. She never brings the dogs🐕 back because she finds homes for them. She tells him they died, but that won't fly much longer.

Her father is in prison doing 25 years and he just got turned down for parole. She is celebrating, because he killed her mother and a teenager in a car wreck because he was driving drunk. So he doesn't deserve parole! She's had a big share of sorrow in her life.

She goes to a 🍸bar near her house because it's close and convenient. She likes the owner, Blake🐺🍆🌋✋, a big, handsome, muscled up💪 and tatted up former Marine, but she can't bring herself to acknowledge it.

She drinks 🍸 too much and gets into the middle of a 🍸bar fight, and gets punched. She's almost too drunk to notice and Blake🐺🍆🌋✋ hauls her into his office to sleep it off. He knows about the dogfights, and warns her she is in real danger if she goes, but she ignores him, of course. She doesn't trust him and she does everything for herself.

Being a sadistic sexual deviant....er dominant, Blake🐺🍆🌋✋ tells her he'll whip her with his belt if she goes to the dogfight. Ha! She goes and gets caught drugging a dog🐕 to keep it from fighting. All hell breaks loose about then. It's a police raid and Blake🐺🍆🌋✋ is leading it! He grabs her and cuffs her like she's being arrested and throws her in his car. Her dog🐕 is there too. He's taking her away to a safe house because she'll be pegged as a snitch by the Pecadores🔪🔫.
Now Aubree is going to get the full "DOM" effect from Blake🐺🍆🌋✋. He's actually a really ornery baaaad naaasssty Dom✋, who enjoys working over Aubree's cute little butt💃 and making her crawl like a 🐕dog for good measure.
He's trying to get her to give up the name of her contact at the dogfights. She's stubborn as a mule, and so is he!
Who is going to win this test of wills?
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

Ok, there were some things I did not like at all about Blake's over the top dominant✋ treatment of Aubree💋🐕. Some of it was not consensual in my opinion, especially his "punishments✋". I liked the book and the story but Blake🐺🍆🌋✋ was just way too heavy handed at times.
Later ,Blake🐺🍆🌋✋ admits he's a sexual sadist✋ and enjoys humiliating Aubree💋 and treating her like a 🐕dog. Nice to know! I would avoid a dude like him like he had The Plague!
The four 🌟stars are for the plot, not the domination of Aubree.💋Thank God this is a total fantasy🐲. This book does the BDSM community NO favors and unfairly represents it.

I’m not sure how to review this one. I’m on the fence. There were quite a few consistency errors that pulled me out of the story. Like one minute he was twirling the handcuffs on his finger and the next he was pulling her by the chain. Also, he turns off the phone and then it buzzes in his pocket.

I think actually my biggest issue is the BDSM aspect of the story. BDSM is founded on SSC (safe, sane and consensual) and this is far away from consensual. I normally don’t mind dark non-con stories, but the way Blake kept referring to her as a sub yet she didn’t give him her submission just didn’t sit well with me. There were no negotiations or agreement to their arrangement. In fact, she rebelled against his control through most of the book.

Overall the story was pretty good and I may have enjoyed it more if I had read the other two books in the series as they introduced the other two couples. I hope the consistency errors are caught before it is published.

Hero 3 stars / Heroine 3 stars / Steam 4 stars / Plot 3 stars / Overall 3.5 Stars
Keys: Dual POV, MF, BSDM, non-con, mafia, kidnapped, humiliation.
#MSBB - I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Aubree is a vet and will do whatever it takes to rescue dogs from dogfighting. After a bad day she heads to her favorite bar to blow off some steam. Blake and Greg own the bar and both are attracted to Aubree but Blake knows that she is his. He rescues her from a bar fight and decides it time to move their relationship forward. But when Blake finds out about the her going to the illegal dogfights he warns her to stay away. Will she listen? This is a fast-paced read with lots of drama, suspense and kink. I haven’t read others in the series as this can be read as a stand-along, however I do plan on reading them. Great characters, steam and chemistry. This is one off the charts hot and steamy read! I loved it!

The Impact of Dog Fighting

I'm a dog lover and this storyline involved a lot of dog fighting. That has much to do with my issues with this book. Besides that, I have no real interest in the aspect of BDSM kink that involves humiliation and/or harder core pet activities/treatment. There was too much of that kind of activity in this book, as well, to suit my taste.

So, although this book in the Owned and Protected series followed a similar path as the first two, which I more fully enjoyed reading, it pushed me past certain personal boundaries and affected my ability to similarly appreciate this story.

My preferences may not match yours, so take my criticisms for whatever they may be worth.

A good storyline, fairly believable characters and a decent situation - but the sex scenes didn't do it for me this round. Normally a good BDSM will have me hunting up my significant other - this one barely rated a kiss for me - and I'm thinking it is the barely consensual aspect of it.

Aubree Stevenson is a veterinarian who puts her love of animals above her own personal safety and the safety of those in her life, a fact that is proven with no uncertainty when she returns to a dog fighting arena despite promising bar owner, Blake Turner, someone she’s growing fond of that she wouldn’t. I, too, am an animal lover – and if you are, as well, be warned that there are some triggering parts of this book – but her putting herself in harm’s way really bothers me. This book, and the others in this series, have strong BDSM elements, and, because of that, I have some serious issues with our heroine. I understand that it’s good storytelling to have a strong-willed woman who is also, at heart, a submissive and for her to fight admitting that she is submissive. However, I strongly dislike the idea of someone being forced to submit, regardless of how yummy the Dominant may be. So, for me, there is some dubious consent going on throughout this book. A power exchange relationship between consenting, human adults is a beautiful thing, but there needs to be a LOT more communication between the partners than there appears to be in this book. I know that, for some, dubious consent or consensual non-consent is a huge turn-on, and it is for me, to an extent. What really drew me in was the potential in the relationship between Aubree and Blake and I certainly hope that, off stage, they do a lot more communication and negotiation to make their power exchange healthy. Hopefully the next installment will give us a glimpse at that.

A book review is, perhaps, not the best forum to discuss the intricacies of BDSM and power exchange relationships, but since that figures so strongly into the plot of the book, I did feel it important to at least bring it up. The sex and play scenes are really hot, though, as another reviewer pointed out, there are a few action consistency errors that need to be addressed at some point. However, they were not so blatant as to pull me out of the action, so to speak. Due to the content of the book, it is recommended only for mature readers, and for those who are not offended by sexual situations, power exchange, BDSM, pet play, and the like. If such things offend you, do yourself, and the author, a favor and give this one a pass.

I enjoyed the novel and will definitely be willing to give the author another shot!

Aubree is a feisty vet who has managed to get an in with a gang who runs dogfights. She uses that in to save as many dogs as she can and to sneak some out so that they can be rescued. She's also as stubborn as a dog with a bone. She isn't willing to step aside or ask for help, she's determined to do whatever she can to help those dogs, no matter what anyone says.

Blake owns the neighborhood bar where Aubree goes to get her Diet Coke with lime and occasionally something a little harder. He's been watching her for quite a while and has watched her turn down every man who has ever come near her. However, he knows that he can handle her. When she comes in one night and gets drunk, it leads to a situation where he can prove just how well he can handle her.

I've read the other books in this series, so I was really looking forward to this one. I knew it was going to be a hot story. I wasn't disappointed. The struggle that Aubree goes through because of her hero complex is one that a lot of people can identify with. Blake's frustration with Aubree's guilt and stubbornness is also one that a lot of us can relate to. I really liked Blake's novel solution to dealing with Aubree. The sex is hot, hot, hot. The relationship and chemistry between Aubree and Blake are totally off the chart. Forget going to 11. This one goes to 1100. It was such a good story, and it was worth every second of my wait.

Wow!! This is the first book that I have read by Measha Stone and it will NOT be the last!! The story is well written, the plot is great, the characters are well developed, it is an easy read and captivating until the last sentence! There are two other books in this series – Owned and Protected – they are “Protecting His Pet” and “Protecting His Runaway”, and I am on the fast track to purchase and read them! This story is fast paced, incredibly steamy and the electricity between Aubree and Blake is HOT!! Measha Stone has done a wonderful job creating a BDSM/Pet Play theme which allows you to enjoy the lifestyle without too much pet play. Blake is a Handsome, Alpha worthy Dom and Aubree has grown to rely on herself and believes she doesn’t need a man to protect her, even if he beyond gorgeous and drool worthy. LOL Measha knows how to build the suspense and mystery- Can Blake protect Aubree before she runs head long into trouble because she knows how to solve the issue? Measha Stone shows us that Aubree is a strong, independent woman; Blake is a strong, understanding Dom who realizes that being his pet, frees her and allows her to be released from the ties that have bound her in the past, hindered her growth and become the woman who can now discover the wonderful future that lies ahead! Thank you Measha Stone for giving us an amazing read!!

To be a fly on the wall at Whispered Desires…

I received an Advance Reader Copy for His Captive Pet (Owned and Protected, Book #3) written by Measha Stone and voluntarily reviewed this book. Blake Turner has been drawn to Aubree Stevenson, the sexy vet who comes into the bar he co-owns with his brother. When it is clear she is putting her life in danger by interfering with the wrong people, Blake willingly steps in to do everything he can to keep her safe…to include hiding her away at an exclusive BDSM resort, keeping her captive until he can come up with a plan, because it is not just her who is in danger now.

I enjoyed the very real and relatable emotion described behind both their actions, which is understandable when you get their backstories. Both have experienced events which cemented their present behaviors and outlooks as well as govern their relationships. Appreciated the dual POV, which shows how much they are beginning to care for each other beyond their initial attraction, but they each still stick to their agendas because they feel so strongly about what they want. Middle ground is so very hard won between them, with Blake using tactics such as humiliation and forced submission to gain control and to claim Aubree for himself. Really looking forward to reading more of the others’ stories and their dynamics!

I voluntarily received an arc copy through Booksprout for my honest review.
Measha has done it once again. Aubree is a veterinarian whom has an incarcerated father. Her father did some bad things not only to the person that he is jail for but to herself and her mother. Blake was in the marines and served a few tours but came back to help his younger brother. Aubree is one tough chick she will take any man on and when she tries to take on a dog fighting ring she may have just bit off more than she can chew. She needs protection and Blake is just the man to do it. Blake is probably the only man that can handle Aubree and if she doesn't submit all he has to do is spank her you see Blake is also a dominant.

Blake and Aubree being thrown into this situation or sort of at odds. Blake knows he loves her but Aubree is Aubree and she will not change her ways. I loved that Aubree was a strong female character even though it got her into some trouble and Blake is a born protector and will protect her against anything or anyone.

This is another erotic story that also involves some spanking and even a cage so beware when you read this one, I rate this story four stars.

The third book in The Owned and Protected series, but it can be read as a stand alone. What I love about Measha Stone’s writing is that her characters are so complex and developed. She puts a lot of detail and thought into the motives of the characters and their relationship.

I have to say that Aubree was one of the most stubborn woman I have ever read about. She also wanted to save the world all by herself, which put her in a pretty hairy situation. It was a good thing Blake was very determined and very creative in his ways. A good characteristic for a Dom to have. These two characters battle who is the strongest, which leads to a lot of funny conversations and situations. This books also has some great pet play scenes which I am a fan off. Like all of Measha Stone books there are also some very steamy scenes. and i loved we got back to the characters of the previous books and see how Devin’s dream has come to life.

I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an advance review copy.

You will be the captive of this story!
One veterinarian, trying to save Chicagos fighting dogs one at a time, by any means necessary. And one bar owner with a soft spot for her.
Should be a sweet little story to read. Right? Not quite!
Because the vet is as stubborn as a mule, convinced she has to deal with the problem all by herself. And the bar owner is an ex Marine, ex cop, and a hardcore Dom with the need to protect her.
When the bottom falls out of the vets latest rescue mission, and the gang that arranges the fights is after her, her protector snatches her up and hides her.
Of all places, in a BDSM resort.
There he tries to bring his very reluctant crusader vet to heel, with the method of his choice, domination.
By this part of the story your reading device will be in danger of melting. Let me tell you, scorching hot !!
But true to the nature of the two protagonists it does not end there of course. It ends with a bang and some unexpected surprises!
This is another of Ms Stones very sensual, kinky, and, yes, love-stories.

My first time reading a book by this author and I can certainly say I was not disappointed. I've read books by some authors people have flaunted and wondered what all the fuss was about, but Ms. Stone definitely lives up to everything I've read about her on social media. I can guarantee she is now on my favourite authors' list.
Anyway, His Captive Pet quickly became a real pageturner for me - I finished the book in just under two hours.
Blake and Aubree were just amazing. Blake is everything I would ever be looking for in a Dom, and Aubree is a spitfire. The chemistry between the pair of them is outstanding, and Blake's dominance does dirty things to a reader's panties.
I have never read a lot of petplay - it's never been my kink, but Ms. Stone certainly adds an appealing spin to it. There is quite a lot...I wouldn't say noncon, but probably dubcon in this book but it works fantastically well.
I would highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading more from the author.
