Rate this book
Dismantled centuries ago, the sword of Goliath is still rumored to thirst for its enemies' blood. Cole "Tox" Russell only wants to begin his life with Haven Cortes, but he must first complete a final mission: retrieve that sword and destroy the deadly Arrow & Flame Order.

The AFO, however, is determined to claim the sword. Wielding their father's life over Tzivia and Ram Khalon, they threaten to expose Ram's long-held and dangerous secret while demanding Tzivia locate the sword. With the Wraith team slowly being torn apart, things only worsen when Mercy Maddox, a new operative, emerges with the stunning news that the sword is tied to both Ram's secret and a string of unsolved serial murders.

Tox, Ram, and the others are forced to set aside fear and anger to focus only on the enemy. No matter the cost, Wraith must stop or take the enemy down with them.

Um, wow. What a wild conclusion to this explosive series! Packed with loads of action, plot twists (oh, those plot twists . . . ), snark, emotion, and a tad bit of romance, Thirst of Steel will keep you on the edge of your seat! I could not have asked for a better conclusion to the series, and while my emotions are still recovering from the hit they took at the end of the book, I am supremely happy with that ending. :D If you love a good military thriller, then definitely check out this series!

LOVED THIS CONCLUSION!!!

I have read both books in Ronie Kendig's The Tox Files series: Conspiracy of Silence and the Crown of Souls and loved them, so of course, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Thirst for Steel. I have heard about this book since I finished the Crown of Souls, and I have been patiently waiting for this book like a little kid trying to behave on the way to Disney World for the first time. Finally, I got the book in my hand, and Kendig did not disappoint.

As always, Kendig's writing is top notch. I love how she draws me into every little detail of the setting that I need to know. I love how she describes the fight scenes, which are more detailed in male writings in my opinion, but not for Kendig, she rivals any male writer. I love her attention to detail and her ability to bring me into unfamiliar settings and make them familiar for me.

The plot. Of course, my favorite thing about a book. Does it hold my attention? Does my mind wander? As a word of caution when Thirst for Steel starts, there are many different viewpoints. I think, and I could be wrong, there are five present day viewpoints and a past viewpoint. So some readers might find it confusing for a while and wonder how they all are connected. BUT . . . if you have read Kendig before, then the miracle is how she does tie them all together in a pretty bow at the end of the novel. I knew she would, so I stuck though the novel trusting her to do what she promises. I really loved the action in this novel. It is fast paced, and I really had a hard time putting it down. I was running on the treadmill with the book in my hand. I didn't want to stop.

The characters. Kendig throws a couple of surprises toward the end of the novel. She made me gasp, but I understood and completely empathize with her reasonings for doing what she did. I loved seeing more of the lives of familiar characters as they struggle to achieve their desire for a normal life. I am sad to see the series end and say good-bye to these characters. But now that I have all three books, I think I will return to them and read them again in order, one right after another.

Overall, Thirst for Steel by Ronie Kendig is a wonderful ending to her Tox Files series. It is filled with surprises, actions, and characters I have grown to struggle and empathize with. I am sad to see the series end, but I can't wait to see what else Kendig has up her sleeve. Onto her next series.

I received a complimentary copy of Thirst of Steel by Ronie Kendig from Bethany House Publishers, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Ronie Kendig’s books are in a genre unto themselves. Yes there’s suspense, but Thirst of Steel is surrounded on the mysterious sword of Goliath. So that brings in history and a little bit of the surreal—dare I say, fantasy?

The guys are military and you really don’t see that a lot. It’s one of the reasons I became a fan of Ms. Kendig’s works. I love the military–I’m a vet–and I love reading about it.

Then there’s a thread of romance in here. Y’all, I was surprised left and right in this area. In fact, the whole book was nothing but twists and turns. I couldn’t stop reading. I couldn’t focus on anything other than the world Ms. Kendig has built.

And knowing this was the last book of the Tox Files had me apprehensive. I love Tox and the Wraith guys. I didn’t want to say goodbye. And seriously, this is probably the first time I didn’t want to finish a last book in the serious. I just knew I wasn’t prepared.

And y’all, I was not prepared. I don’t want to give away the ending but to say I’m shocked and floored is an understatement. I literally had to keep myself from bawling like a baby and writing this, I’m still trying to supress those tears. I’m not sure how I feel about the ending, but I know it’s one I’ll remember for the rest of my life.

If you read this book, make sure you take a couple of days to get through the book hangover. Oh and grab a tub of ice cream.

All in all, Ms. Kendig has outdone herself once again. I look forward to reading more books from her.

*I received a free copy from the publisher. This book is my own, honest opinion.

I feel like I’ve just had the life drained out of me—although I’m pretty sure that’s just the adrenal letdown after finishing the most intense and epic conclusion to a series I’ve read in I don’t know how long. I know I’ve gushed about Ronie Kendig’s books before, but... Wowser! That was masterful. And brilliant. And...heartbreaking! But still right, somehow. And now I have to figure out how to function in the real world while I recover…

If you haven’t read the previous books in this series, I highly recommend doing so, (a) because it’s one of the best series I’ve ever read; and (b) because you’ll have a much deeper appreciation of the characters and their motivations as you come into this story. However, it’s probably fair to warn you that you will also be much more deeply invested in the characters, and, well, see first paragraph above. Tears will be shed, I promise you, because this author doesn’t shy away from hard reality, but you won’t be left without reasons to smile through the tears.

As far as the story goes, Thirst of Steel is Ronie Kendig at her brilliant best: The deep, robust characterisation; the complex, heart-pounding plot; the vivid, powerful writing; and, of course, the healthy sprinkling of one-liners and witticisms from the members of Wraith. As always, I take my hat off to Cell in that last department, but he definitely had some worthy competition in this one!

Thirst of Steel is paramilitary black ops that packs a punch both physically and emotionally, and throws in a dose of speculative archaeology for good measure. It’s 400+ pages of pure awesomeness, so just get it already!

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not influenced the content of my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Thirst of Steel is the amazing, action-packed, and emotional conclusion to the Tox Files series. This is definitely a series that I recommend reading all of the books in order. You will fall in love with these strong, intense characters!

The author, once again, did an amazing job of combining fast paced military action and suspense with a beautiful love story. All through the book I swooned over Cole and Haven’s feelings for each other. It has been building throughout the previous stories and Thirst of Steel is the culmination of that romantic thread and it is so very well written. I could feel the pain of when they had to be apart.

The undercover work, along with the dangerous situations that so many of the characters are thrown into, kept me eagerly turning pages to see what happened next. The twists and turns in this novel had me holding my breath as events spiraled to a dramatic end. Thirst of Steel was a thrilling ride that looked deep inside the hearts of many of the characters that readers have been following throughout this fantastic series.

It's no secret I've loved the previous books in this series for all their Indiana Jones and military valor incidents. But this Thirst of Steel, the third and final book in the "Tox Files" series EXPLODES onto the scene and takes beloved characters on a journey that changes everything. Ronie Kendig has established herself as one of my favorite authors with this series alone. It's now one of my absolute favorites! (I highly recommend reading this series in order for the best experience.)

To say it in one word: BRILLIANT! A few more: the plot, ancient mystery, secrets, and twists are perfectly executed.

In Thirst of Steel, secrets, friendships, loyalties, and fortitudes are tested as the challenge of a lifetime faces the Wraith team -- and especially Tox, Haven, Ram, and Tzivia. With more POVs, details about team members, and TWISTS you will never see coming, this story is one that will have you turning pages late into the night to see just what happens next!

The Wraith TEAM is as funny, precise, and cohesive as ever. Tox and Haven are ALL THE FEELS and a big part of the emotional upheaval of the story. A particular favorite of mine was Haven's involvement in ancestry research... and the way Tzi Tzaddik and Chiji work with her.

Readers will be ecstatic that we get a few more perspectives in this story, especially more time with Ram and Tzivia. RAM. His loyalty, sacrifices, ties to Mossad, and even his romantic life are front and center this time -- further complicating the mission and forever changing the team dynamic. And Tzi? She's as gorgeous and fierce as ever -- especially when it comes to her efforts for her family and even in her blindness about her own self-worth. Her growth and arc in this book are impressive. AND, a lady named Mercy shows up as an important part of the story -- and she brings to light the incredible symbolism and meaning behind some of the character names.

Thirst of Steel is more than a thriller. More than an undercover paramilitary black ops story or an ancient mystery-turned-international threat plot. It's a story of humanity, of sacrifice and integrity, of family and brotherhood, of the true character revealed by a person's actions, and of spiritual warfare, the very real fight against evil, and a powerful and all-knowing God we can choose to serve. This fictional story points to truth, light, and the salvation found in the greatest sacrificial Love humanity has ever known. Read it, friends. It's quite the adventure.

Oh my Tox! This 3rd and final book of the series took a bit of a spin in a different direction than the first 2. But I still fully enjoyed it and could not put it down! You learn a lot more about Ram in this book and wow, is there a lot to learn!! The twists and turns throughout the story definitely kept me turning (or shall I say swiping since I read an e-copy of the book?) the pages. All Tox wants to do is go home and be with Haven. But in order to do that he has gone deep undercover to eliminate the AFO. His handler? Ram. And of course nothing goes according to plan. And nothing I assumed while reading was right! The history aspects, for me, read a lot easier and as a more easily understandable to part of the story than the first two. Loved every aspect of this book! Well, except the fact that it was the last book in the series!

I couldn't imagine a more epic and emotional conclusion to The Tox Files series! I loved reading about the team members and the new details that emerged about their backstory and what motivates them, especially Ram and his sister Tzi. It's a nail-biter from the start, and the author definitely exhibits why her tagline is "rapid-fire fiction"! Literal nail-biting is the reason why I have to limit the suspense books I read, but it was so worth it. The romance between Cole and Haven bring all the feels, and I loved the connection I felt to their relationship. Even with the tension I felt while reading the different perspectives I knew would all weave together, I was caught off guard and surprised by the twists and turns of the plot. I definitely recommend reading all the books in the series in order, as they build on each other with character development. Don't miss this explosive series full of depth, action, and romance!

I don't even know where to begin. Ronie keeps getting better with each book! With charismatic, tortured characters whose flaws and heroism are all too real, she weaves a tale to end all tales with this third--and sadly last--Tox Files novel. The rapid-fire action and intensity had me mesmerized, mouth-gaped, and eyes glued to the pages of this book. It was heart-wrenching and oh-so-incredible.

You amaze me, Ronie Kendig. I can't wait for your next series!

Ronie Kendig's writing feels like home to me. I'm so instantly enraptured in her story and in love with her characters and she never fails to delight. This book is no exception!

Thirst of Steel is a perfect finale to the Tox Files. It's gritty, twisty, raw, heart-wrenching, and utterly page-turning. I couldn't stop reading. The ending was heavy, yet hopeful, and...it was just right. Ronie Kendig doesn't pull punches!

I highly recommend this series for lovers of action and suspense and thrillers and spy/secret agent stories. What a wild ride!

Thirst of Steel is one of Kendig’s best books yet! If you’ve ever heard of Ronie Kendig, you know that the books she pens are some of the best ones out there; however, with The Tox Files series, I believe she’s somehow managed to up her writing game. The whole series, from first line to last, is intriguing, heart-pounding, adventurous, and gritty. Every single character is genuine and so easy to relate to, whether they’re FBI agents or Special Forces soldiers. With this last book, Kendig raises the stakes and brings every thread from the previous books together in one spell-binding conclusion.
The conclusion to The Tox Files was everything it needed to be and more. It tied up the story nicely, leaving small threads here and there that provided room for more stories told by different characters in years to come. Though Cole “Tox” Russell’s story has come to a close, I don’t believe for one moment Kendig is going to leave the rest of these beloved characters alone. There are definitely more stories to tell, and I can’t wait to see what she does with them. If you’re looking for a book with non-stop action and adventure with themes that make you think long after you close the book, then this is the series for you. Ronie Kendig will quickly become a favorite author and before you know it, you’ll have all of her books on your shelf or TBR pile.

I finished this UH-MAZING book yesterday and I still can't think straight. My emotions have been completely wracked and I don't know how or when I will recover from this book.
Ms. Kendig calls her books Rapid Fire Fiction and that is exactly what she delivers. Her latest, and final book of The Tox Files is an emotion packed thrill ride, filled with suspense, action, and romance.
As I read this book I kept wondering where and how Ms. Kendig came up with all she put in this book. Her story creativity and character development is some if not the best I've read all year. Her ability to keep a reader on the edge of their seat, thinking they've figured it out and then surprises the daylights out of them is the qualities of a brilliant author, which in my opinion Ronie Kendig is.

My Bottom Line:

I am very sad to see the Tox Files end. Thirst of Steel finishes the series off perfectly. The pacing of the story is perfect. I found myself holding my breath, crying, cheering, and wanting to throw the book across the room. The spiritual truths that were braided into the story had me doing some real soul searching. I love when books touch my heart and soul, and this one definitely did.

I highly recommend it!

I stayed up until two in the morning to finish reading Thirst of Steel by Ronie Kendig.

Two. In. The. Morning.

Worth. Every. Minute.

I can't believe this is the last book... I can't believe The Tox Files are over... What am I going to do now??? (If you're acquainted with Tox, then you know I'm NOT being dramatic. If you aren't...well, all three books are available now, so I'd say it's time to binge read!) I'm trying really hard to hold my emotions in check because I know if I open that door, there's no closing it. I won't be able to stop mourning the end of this series, these characters, those...events. Those...beautiful, devastating events that raised the impact level of this legendary tale, concluding this series in the best possible way while still shredding my soul.

Sorry, no spoilers. ;-) Hehe.

Guys, Thirst of Steel destroyed me and blessed me and blew my stinking mind! Ronie Kendig is a literary genius! The skill and complexity of this novel kept me glued to my reading perch, frantically turning the pages. Think military thriller, a hint of romance, and secret societies with a National Treasure feel, making for a enthralling story! The characters (I heart Tox and Ram) with their complexities, failures, and triumphs are imprinted on my heart. And I loved the new perspectives! But despite the serious nature of the story, Ronie Kendig was able to write humor and heart and truth into the story in an organic way!

But from reader to reader, what I hope you see the most is this series is how awesome God is! Through the supernatural events of this series, Ronie Kendig reminds readers how big and powerful our God is. That He operates in the supernatural. That we can't limit Him to what we "know" because He is so much more. This was the truth that encouraged and challenged me the most throughout the story. <3

Five Stars ~ An epic conclusion to a thrilling series! Trust me when I say that this is one series you don't want to miss!!! Thirst of Steel is the last book in The Tox Files by Ronie Kendig. You should definitely read Conspiracy of Silence and Crown of Souls respectively before reading Thirst of Steel because the information learned in those books are essential to Thirst of Steel's plot.

I am prepared for two things when I step into a Ronie Kending story. The first is that I’m going to be swept up into immediate, nonstop adventure and twists and turns I could not even have imagined coming my way. The second is that I will form an intense connection with her characters and spend time when I’m not reading the book worrying about their fates. I believe The Tox Files is her best series yet and Thirst of Steel was everything I could have wanted and more in a conclusion. I was left a bit of an emotional wreck at the end of the story. There was satisfaction at these characters finding peace at happiness after such a mad journey, but there were also some tears and heartbreak to be had as well. I was so distraught about a certain event that I had to wait a day or so after finishing the book to write my review so that I could process my feelings. I have decided to ignore that one part of the book for my own sanity! I enjoyed getting to know Leif Metcalfe a little more and will be eagerly awaiting his turn as leading man in the Book of the Wars series.

This is a great finale to an amazing series by one of my favorite authors. Full of realistic and likable characters and a complicated, suspenseful plot, this story has an ending with a twist that I didn't see coming. With a backstory from ancient times, Ronie Kendig weaves a modern day story together to create a situation where good overcomes evil and greed with faith and dependence on God. I am sorry to see the series end and have thoroughly enjoyed it-a story that stays with you for a while.

Thirst of Steel is the third and final book in the Tox Files. This series was one I thought I'd enjoy (since I've loved other Kendig novels), but it was a miss for me. The characters were enjoyable and I did enjoy some aspects of the story, but I wasn't a fan of the curse element and found that I had a difficult time keeping track of all the characters.

Reading other reviews, I can tell that most people loved this book; so, if it sounds like something you'd enjoy, I say give it a shot. Definitely read the series in order, though, as it follows the same characters.

Thirst of Steel will keep you up at night and crossing the globe as you accompany Tox on his quest to save the world from the Russian terrorists bent on destroying it. It’s a journey that will play out before your eyes as you read it and will haunt your dreams after you finish.

It did this to me – literally. I often read late into the night, but I found myself up with Thirst of Steel much later than usual, completely unable to put the book down and go to sleep. I literally read until I slept, something I never do, and found myself with my book before me again first thing the next morning, starting again where I had left off the night before.

The whole Tox series is that way, but this one reads a bit differently. I don’t want to spoil anything, but a few of the main characters have unexpected roles in this one, and so at first I was sloshing through it, a bit ungainly at times, enthralled with the premise but trying to understand the new parts. I soon had it all figured out, though, and by then the action had risen to new heights, and there was no putting this book down.

No. Stopping. Points. Whatsoever.

So, me, who can function with little sleep, actually read herself literally and completely to sleep, and then woke up the next morning, turned back a few pages, and dove back in.

It’s that good.

I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen, although I really didn’t want to, all at the same time, because I knew that would signal the end of the series, and I loved it way too much to want it to end. Alas, that is how I feel, now that I’ve come to the last page: Thirst of Steel has an epic ending, and I loved it.

Which means that there’s nothing to do but to go back to the very beginning of the series and read it all again.

This time, I’ll read a bit slower. I’ll be able to savor parts I was too excited to read slowly the last time and consider details more, not because I didn’t understand what was happening, but only because I was too excited to think but could only devour.

I think that Thirst of Steel creates a Thirst for Words. Be forewarned.

Ronie Kendig has done it again! In her latest novel Thirst of Steel, she brings together the final pieces in the centuries old conflict while bringing Biblical history alive. Tox and his team return once more to recover the blade that was used to kill Goliath and curse the Nizaris. It kept me on the edge wanting to read more and more into uncovering the truth of Thefarie and Cathey and I was in suspense of whether or not the AFO was going to find out what Tox and his right hand man and friend Ram were doing.
New characters were introduced to bring more light onto characters like Ram. The introduction of Mercy shed some light on the man and Kendig brought out the internal conflict he was going through. As being partial to dark heroes, I enjoyed learning more about Ram and his past and watching him go through the conflict he was facing.
I was completely blown away by the plot twist in the final showdown and I admire Kendig’s ability to parallel the events that took place in the past with the events in the present that were playing out and eventually show that history doesn’t always repeat itself but it can pave the way for a different outcome, a different future and Ronie Kendig give us that with the epilogue. While it is closure for a wonderful series, the characters truly live on in all of us as we struggle to deal with what comes our way and with faith in God… all things can happen. Thank you Ronie Kendig for another great adventure.

This conclusion to The Tox Files is Rapid Fire Fiction at its best. As with the other books, there is an ancient artifact in play…Goliath’s Sword. It is believed to have brought down a curse that many are desperate to break. It seems that everyone has a different agenda in hunting for the pieces of the sword from the CIA to the Mossad, the AFO in Russia, Tox, Tzivia, and even Ram. It’s wonderfully interwoven but still pretty easy to follow. Secrets are revealed bit by bit and make for some interesting twists. The story and action remind me of a cross between Warehouse 13 and Indiana Jones. It’s pretty exciting.
I love the camaraderie that Tox has with his team. They go to great lengths to protect each other and live out the Special Forces creed beautifully. “I will not fail those with whom I serve. I will not bring shame upon myself or Special Forces.” But even these bonds may be tested in this tale of ancient curses and betrayal.
This book has it all: a good mystery, suspense, action, romance, evil villains, desperate heroes, special forces, spies, and a race against the clock. It’s a great read and I’d highly recommend it. If you haven’t read the prior books, I’d encourage you to start at the beginning. They fill out so much of the backstory and add lots of depth to the relationships and events.

I’m having a hard time processing all that I experienced through this book.
There were moments of questioning and thinking I had it figured out.
Saying out loud, “Wait! that can’t be!”
Followed by, “OH! I knew it!”
Then there were those times I wanted to stop reading because I didn’t want to read what I was reading. The emotions were so raw.
All this to say, Ronie Kendig is a HIGHLY GIFTED STORYTELLER!
She knows how to twist and turn the story in so many ways you don’t see what’s right in front of you and when you see it, you can’t believe it!
She also has a fantastic way of bringing the right amount of spiritual truths in each of her stories which help you dig deeper into your faith. I know I did in this book. We all thirst for something in our life, whether it’s physical, relational, emotional or spiritual. For me personally, I believe it’s only Christ Jesus who will quench that thirst we have.
I like to share quotes from the books I read and in this book there were many, I find this one to be just what I’m talking about:

“Is it not God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever? You accept that He cursed
man, that He wrought great miracles - water turning to blood, snakes to staffs, dead
brought back to life. What were those miracles, but demonstrations of His power to turn
hearts back towards their Creator?”

The characters in this book and the other books in this series are so real, I found myself laughing with them, getting mad and sometimes VERY angry at them, loving them and also crying over them. They will be forever special in my heart. They became a family to me. I know this is the last book in this series, yet it would be fun to read about them in maybe another book. Hint Hint!
If you want to read a book packed full of intrigue, suspense, action, drama, military struggles, and a bit of romance, then this is the book for you! You might need a day or two to process all that happens in this book. Believe me, you won't be able to breathe deeply until the end, but it will be worth it.
I highly recommend reading the book. Pick it up and start on the adventure of your life.

I am at a loss as to how to write this review. How to get across how incredibly wonderful this story, no, this entire series is ~ with no spoilers. The twists and turns will keep you reading as fast as you can while holding your breath and hoping for no interruptions. You also might find yourself telling everyone in your house ~yes, everyone ~ what is happening.

So, here is what I can say. I loved reconnecting with all the old characters. The camaraderie between the guys is great and I love the fierce loyalty they have to each other. I love the pops of humor throughout. There is also a wonderful new character ~ Mercy. I love her! She is funny, super smart, and the names she gives people are hilarious! And, of course, there’s TOX. Pretty much the best male character ever! I also have to say I totally cried - a lot. And I shamelessly bugged my reader friends to find someone who has read this story because I needed to talk about it! Thank you Ronie for the spoilers page!

Ronie is a master!! She beautifully weaves the ancient story with the current story. Agh! I wish I could spoiler because this book is just so awesome and beautifully ties everything together. I hate that this series is over. This entire series is in a class by itself as is Ronie Kendig!

Update: I wrote this review the day I finished this book ~ 11 days ago! And I cannot get this story or the characters off of my mind! Ronie Kendig is a master at storytelling! This series should be made into a movie! It’s just that good.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This amazing book was a thrilling page turner well worth the wait. All the questions raised by the previous two books in this series are answered as Tox and Ram fight against a mighty enemy! Their friendship and dedication to each other and the their team are inspiring! There is so much tension between government agencies that I was constantly wondering who would come out on top. And the redemption of people and relationships that are broken was so beautiful. There are plot twists that will leave you breathless especially the final ones at the end! The author is so creative. The characters are consistent from the beginning of the series only growing in depth and richness.

This book is unique in the creativity of the plot and the depth of the characters. Not many other books can deal with fighting a secretive society like the AFO while not becoming unbelievable but I never felt that the book became beyond the possible. And I love the weaving in of the storyline from the middle ages, showing us we play just a small part in the fight against evil. Be faithful in the small part you can do. I love this book!

Ah....Ronie Kendig has done it again! Created a beautiful ending to such a fantastic series!

In this third book, we take a bit of a deviation from the last two and follow more of Ram's story. There's also the introduction of a new character who I really liked - Mercy! I won't go into who she is exactly, but I loved her spunk in this third book. Also, the team comes back together in order to find (and get rid of) a final supernatural artifact. Interposed with short episodes from history, we see where a curse has come from and what it has to do with the sword that killed Goliath.

I really enjoyed the mixture of perspectives that we get to see and the little twists and turns that the story takes (of which I will remain silent so as not to spoil it). I did have a bit of confusion when it came to piecing it all together - BUT it all made sense at the end, something Kendig always does an excellent job at.

I'm sad to see this series end, but also excited for a new series from Ronie, one of my favorite romantic suspense authors! If you enjoy well-written suspense, military suspense, and romantic suspense, you are going to LOVE Ronie's books and writing. She is a master!

My rating: 5*

I cried. Several times.

I loved it! My favorite of the series!! Oh. My. Tox. Kendig does not disappoint with this book! All of the action, drama, love and grace that you’ve come to expect in the Tox Files is here! I have thoroughly enjoyed the believability of her characters. I am so sad that this series has ended. I will miss Tox, Haven and Tzivia plus all of Wraith!

This is my commandment, that you live one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12-13

Oh Ram! You are a true friend and your love and loyalty to Tox is exceptional. Fox’s faith in you and love for you was not misplaced. I’m so sad that you had to die but love that you knew the choice you had to make and that you had the courage to make that choice.

Tox and Haven I hope that we will get to visit you and your little one in the future! I am sure that future will be filled with so much adventure, love and loyalty that we have come to expect from you both.

And I hope that we came see more of Tzivia and also the members of Wraith (Cell what will we do without you and your sense of humor!). I need to know what happens with you all!

OH. MY. GOODNESS. Thirst of Steel was truly an epic read! I've said before that Crown of Souls was Kendig at her finest, but she's really upped the ante with this one and outdone herself.

I was both excited and nervous to start reading Thirst of Steel, the conclusion to The Tox Files. I've really enjoyed this series. I didn't want it to end, but I needed to know how everything was going to conclude. What would become of these characters I've come to love and think of as friends?

I really don't know how to even begin to describe how fantastic this book was. It moved at a lightning fast pace. I could hardly read it fast enough. There were many mind blowing moments and revelations that took my breath away. Times when I'd have to set the book down for a minute to digest what had just happened, what had just been revealed. Then pick it right back up and dive into it again, reading as quickly as possible.

I can't say enough good things about Thirst of Steel or about the entire series. It's an exhilarating thrill ride that I highly, highly recommend. I'm excited to see what Kendig comes out with next.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and comments are my honest opinion.

Sharp, Precise, Target, Danger, Espionage, Secrets, Enemies, Courage and Determination is a great description of this book by the brilliant and talented author. The characters are fierce and their job is to complete their mission at all cost.

It is a race that will takers readers around the world as the coveted artifact is the prize. Many are willing to die for it and others will destroy their enemy to possess it. The story is action packed and full of surprises. It is a nonstop thrill a minute as one common denominator prevails. Will the enemy tear a team apart? Who can be trusted as the story goes to a high octane level?

I love the feel of a special forces team at command in the story. The author delves a bit more into the characters we have grown to love. We see a glimpse of the symbolism of Christianity embedded into the story that leaves a message of hope and keeping your eyes fixed on God.
The story is a well oiled machine that brings intrigue, danger, and a closure to a series I have loved. The characters were well represented and I will miss them greatly. The ending is powerful and one of a surprise to me. Well done Ronie Kendig.

I loved this book from the start! I think this is the best one of the series. The storyline kept me hooked and guessing. I’m sad that this is the last book in the series. I’m going to miss Tox and the rest of Wraith. I recommend this entire series. I am looking forward to reading more from Ronie Kendig!
