"The Rogue's Seduction" by Lauren Smith When a darling of the ton is targeted by a man who wishes to marry her and break her spirit, she seeks the help of London's most notorious devil in pretending that she's already engaged. What begins as a dangerous game soon turns to seduction over a Christmas neither of them will forget.
"Tamed for Christmas" by Sandra Sookoo When a confirmed bachelor and a headmistress literally crash into each other at a boarding school for young ladies, an unexpected Christmas romance begins, proving love isn't just a game for young people.
"The St Nicholas Day Wager" by Em Taylor When her childhood friend wins a wager against her brother for her hand in marriage, Gabriella is horrified. She knows he finds her looks hideous. Her marriage is surely doomed?
I will not list all the short stories, but a sampling.
Jewel of Winter I liked that the reader at the onset was unclear: who was the main male: friend or foe? But over time I did not like 'the hero' & found the heroine too passive.
A Wallflower Christmas Kiss It strains credibility that a 9 year old girl can fall in love and then be reunited w/ her beloved 15 years on. BTW, the hero turned out not the person she fondly recalled.
A Christmas Seduction IMO this best of the short stories started off slow. The shy heroine was considered cold and aloof.
Seven Rogues for Christmas: A Historical Romance Holiday Collection is a compilation of holiday enjoyment. Quick holiday reads by some new and some familiar authors that would make your heart smile. I truly enjoyed this set of book and would recommend this collection over a nice cup of cocoa.
When 7 fabulous authors get together and launch their stories under one title, what more can you ask for? Seven stories at Christmas centered around rouges and the women who tames them. Be prepared to be enchanted.
Christmas Seduction by Samantha Holt Misunderstandings abound between Alexander, the Duke of Wyndbourne and his new wife Emma. Married after only 3 weeks of courtship and feeling pressure from their parents, they really had not had time to get to know each other. After only a short time Alex sees his wife embracing a strange man and makes the assumption she is having an affair. Really? The silly man goes off and stays away much too long. But it is almost Christmas and he decides he must come back and do his duty to produce an heir. Emma has been lonely and trying to manage the estate. I love this novella. As she always does, the author brings the characters alive and makes you fall in love with them. Be delighted by and smiling as you read and know there is a magic in Christmas!!
The Rouge’s Seduction by Lauren Smith Perdita Darby was desperate. How desperate you ask? Enough to go to a known Rouge’s house, Lord Vaughn Darlington, and ask him to pretend to be her betrothed!! Pursed by a dangerous man, Samuel Milburn, who was trying to blackmail her, she needs protection and feels Vaughn could provide that for her. Being down on his luck and still grieving from the death of his brother, Vaughn begins to feel something come to life with Perdita's request. Her family was hosting a Christmas party and she planned for her father to announce their engagement so Milton would hopefully leave her alone!! The party proves interesting as secrets come out and the intrigue begins! Lauren Smith always delivers an engaging story that leaves the reader wanting more. I so enjoyed this story and fell in love with the characters!! You will too.
Tamed for Christmas bySandra Sooko I am smiling as I write this review! Another excellent story by Sandra Sooko! What happens when a sister leaves her 15 yr old daughter in the care of her brother in order to get away and be by herself? Said uncle, Cecil Tame, goes to his niece Emily's school to pick her up over the holidays. The adventure begins as he literally runs into the headmistress of the school, Miss Phoebe Pennyroyal. At first contact sparks seem to fly, but as Miss Pennyroyal points out, Cecil cannot have Emily alone in his home without a proper chaperone. Who better than Miss Pennyroyal, who against her better judgement agrees until another chaperone can be found. Let the adventure begin! When Phoebe and Emily decide it would be great to have a house party filled with young people, Cecil grits his teeth but gives in. This is such an enchanting story because Cecil and Phoebe are in their thirties and Phoebe is a widow with a son who is away at school. Can love come at such an advanced age? I could not wait to see what happens and it will keep you turning the pages. Be prepare to be entertained and fall in love with Cecil and Phoebe!
The other four stories were just as entertaining and I urge you to get a copy for yourself and let the season begin!
It's too bad when one story amongst all of them causes you to rate a 5-star collection as a 4-star collection.
I just couldn't get into the second to last story, Tamed for Christmas. It fell so short that I couldn't finish it. Reading one's thoughts, the way this book kept inserting a character's supposed wicked thoughts, became a bit tedious. They could have been dropped and I probably would have enjoyed the story a whole lot more. The story began to seem a bit long winded, if it can be termed as such.
Now I feel badly, because it might just be me and my preferences.... Although not enough to alter my decision to remove a star because Tamed at Christmas annoyed me - like fingers down a chalkboard, the feeling just won't go away.
I quite enjoyed all the other stories. For the price, this collection of stories is definitely a great buy!
A collection of 7 stories and several excerpts from others. I rated most a 3, with one being a 2.5 and one 3.5. The 2.5 featured a heroine I especially detested (How to Kiss a Rogue) and one a H/h combo I really liked (The St Nicholas Day Wager). For some reason, TSNDW was repeated in my kindle version of the book.
Stories that are more snippets of the author’s other works and don’t make much sense out of context. Some of them have nothing to do with Christmas or even winter. Most were poorly written with continuity mistakes, double printed lines, and words that don’t mean what the author thinks they mean. I like giving indie authors a chance, but this one was not worth the time.
Jewel of Winter by Kirsten S. Blacketer When a trio of thieves arrive at her inn during a snowstorm, Jessamine must submit to their leader, Edmund. She never expected to spend Christmas as a captive. A Wallflower’s Christmas Kiss by Dawn Brower An arranged betrothal has Lady Juliette Brooks seeking out her former childhood friend, Grayson Abbot the Duke of Kissinger to force him to honour a long ago promise. As they elope rediscover the joy of friendship and a passion neither planned on. This is the third book in the Connected by a kiss series. A straight forward read, that was an easy delightful read. Christmas Seduction by Samantha Holt I love the author’s books & this short story doesn’t disappoint Alex & Emma’s marriage didn’t have the best of starts & then a misunderstanding had Alex leaving. However as snow has the pair of them virtually cut off they can proceed with their plans to seduce each other but butlers, collapsing ceilings & a puppy all conspire against them. A feel good story which I read in a sitting How to Kiss a Rogue by Amanda Mariel Lady Natalie's betrothal is ended and frees her to pursue the man of her dreams. During a holiday party she discovers the lord she desires in attendance. So hatches a plan to snare him. This is the second book in the Connected by a kiss series so I’d recommend reading this before A Wallflower’s Christmas kiss. Another seasonal easy read that’s ideal for reading on a cold winter’s day The Rogue's Seduction by Lauren Smith London's favourite lady Perdita Darby seeks the help and protection of London's most wicked devil Vaughn Lord Darlington to escape a marriage to a cruel horrid man Samuel Milburn. I love the author’s books & her books are a must read for me, I absolutely loved this book from page one & just couldn’t put it down. The characterisation, as always, is very strong. Vaughn is sigh worthy, toe curlingly lovely, Perdy is a strong woman who has her own secrets. I loved that characters from other series (League of Rogues & Brothers of Ash & Fire) were included as it all adds to my enjoyment. For me this was the jewel in a very good collection Tamed for Christmas by Sandra Sookoo When a confirmed bachelor and a headmistress literally crash into each other at a boarding school for young ladies, an unexpected Christmas romance begins, proving love isn't just a game for young people. Another delightful read a bit different from the norm. The St Nicholas Day Wager by Em Taylor When her childhood friend wins a wager against her brother for her hand in marriage, Gabriella is horrified. She knows he finds her looks hideous. Her marriage is surely doomed. East read with good plot & characters
I love anthologies & it’s a great way of finding new authors. This set contains stories from some of my favourite authors plus it’s introduced me to a couple of new ones. I enjoyed some more than others but all are well written with good characterisation & the plots are well paced, all are seasonal & with a fell good factor. My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Seven Rogues for Christmas: A Historical Romance Holiday Collection. This is a box set with seven books that total almost 1000 pages, that includes some of my favorite authors. Also a few that I haven't had a chance to read yet. I am all about box sets for a few reason. They first open you up to new authors that you may not have read yet. Along with being books that can be read when you need some quick down time or if you are waiting for an appointment. I also like them as a quick read before bed. Box set too give you that quick romance read that you sometimes need but can't commit to a full novel. I truly enjoyed this set of book and would recommend this set for sure!

On a cold winter night, Perdita Darby hired a coach and went to see the only man who could help her: Vaughn, Viscount Darlington, the Devil of London! Perdita is being blackmailed and will do just about anything to get out of a marriage proposal from the revolting Samuel Melburn. Vaughn and Perdita come to an agreement that will be beneficial to both of them, what they hadn’t counted on was how it all turned out…
Vaughn is a seductive rogue, a scoundrel, and a bit of a snob who deserves his nickname up to a point; what a character he is, charismatic and rather irresistible. Perdita is no slouch either and they make quite an intriguing couple, and a surprisingly well-matched one; appearances can be deceptive indeed. The secondary characters are quite interesting and Perdita’s parents surprised me! THE ROGUE’S SEDUCTION is beautifully written, there are lovely Christmas details, and the dialogues are excellent. I could have done without the “threat” of BDSM that was always looming in the background; I felt the story didn’t need that and would have been even better, in my opinion, without it. Still, it was excellent!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
The Rogues Seduction, Lauren Smith ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 💋💋💋 Perdita Darby is in trouble , Samuel Milburn want her to marry him, and he will do anything to get what he wants , ruin her or her father he’s not bothered, as long as he’s successful. But he doesn’t just want to marry her, he wants to break her in every way possible, he’s already suspected of murder , there’s only one person Perdita can think to turn too . Viscount Vaughn Darlington , the Devil Of London , hes a-man with a bad reputation, he’s a rogue and not above kidnap to win a bet . Perdita pays him a call to request his help , telling him everything, and they decide on a make believe betrothal in the hopes Milburn will back off . At a Christmas house party at Perdita’s country home , Vaughn and her begin to lose sight of the lines they’ve drawn for they’re relationship, things start to become real ,and Milburn becomes a bigger threat than they could have imagined . Another excellent addition to this series . Written as only Lauren can. Wonderful I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Each story well thought & shared in most perfect way, befitting complexity or simplicity of each character, main or small, best sharing the story in unique, romantic, humorous, emotional way to make it one to return to once again at another time. This author has such talent and doesn't waste a bit of it in her writing. Each scene is a step used to build characters and their story to the ultimate believable end to what you know is their true beginning! Loved whole set!
This collection contains seven exciting and heartwarming stories by seven wonderfully talented writers. These are some of my favorite authors. I had read a couple of the stories before - Christmas Seduction is one of my favorite holiday rereads – and enjoyed reading them again. Sandra Sookoo is a new author for me. Hers was a humorous story about a hero and heroine who are a little older than the usual. I recommend this set. It is a true holiday treat!
I'll keep this brief. With a lot of anthologies you get a mixed bag of different stories. Some stories you will enjoy and some you might not like all that much. It's often times based on the style of writing for the writers. I decided to give it three because of this. There were some stories I liked and some I didn't. I can't call this my favorite, but I wouldn't say that this was awful. Hence I decided to give it 3 stars.
Some are complete novellas, some are single chapters, some are fine (3 star), but some are just awful. I was wavering between a two and three star rating and the final story sealed the deal at two stars. Pedantic and poorly edited too. Also, one sorry had an OK plot, but the characters were named Perdita and Vaughn. Really?!
Was a 99 cent special. Guess I got what I paid for.
I loved each story and read each separately in a sitting and had to stop myself from just devouring the entire collection at one time! A holiday collection worth reading to put you in the spirit!
This was a great story of a woman so full of passion, wanting someone to truly love, and to be loved, but had given up , only to meet up with an old friend...or was it.
The first time I read them I enjoyed them! I wish they could say they aren't first time published . That said these were some of the best Christmas stories from these authors.
the book has unfinished stories, it is difficult to follow, it would have been great to know this, you cannot read all the stories, I was very dissapointed
Lovely collection of romantic Christmas stories, some better than others but well worth the money. My personal favourite The St Nicholas Christmas wager.
