So, the first two guys that starred in the Douchebag series really were Douchebags. In this book, however, the guy was actually the opposite of a Douchebag. Rhett Rabideaux is one of the sweetest, most kind hearted men you could come across. I adored him and I loved the twist in this one!

When Laurel first sees Rhett, she’s not impressed. He’s very average, and although he’s got a great body (he’s a wrestler) he’s not got the prettiest face. Rhett is a new transfer to college and he’s not having the easiest time. Between his roommates harassing him, his team basically hazing him, it’s not been the easiest transition. But then Laurel happens.

What I loved most about this book was how Laurel first saw Rhett compared to how she saw him after she knew him. It was like something clicked. This very average looking guy turned into this insanely attractive man. Because Rhett had the best heart, after getting to know him, his attractiveness grew. People become so much more beautiful once you get to know their hearts and this book truly showed that.
"God, how could I ever thought he wasn't attractive when now, he's the most handsome guy I've ever seen.”

Rhett is one of the best guys I’ve ever read about. There was nothing about him I didn’t like. Laurel started off a little meh to me, but she grew on me with time. I loved this couple together! And it was great seeing all of my favorite characters from the first 2 books. I was surprised that this was Rhett’s book. I was expecting Elliot’s (hopefully he’s next?!?!) but it was a pleasant surprise because the book ended up being AMAZING!

Sara Ney has quickly become a favorite of mine. After reading this series, she is an auto-buy author for me! I adore these books and highly recommend!
God, I like him so much. Drown in his goodness. His kind spirit and pure heart. The romance of his second language. Sweet brown eyes and beautiful smile.

Don't listen to me. The book has an average of 4.49 at the moment. And the majority of my friends who've read it, loved it.

Unfortunately, for me, this book wasn't fun. I insta-hated the heroine. She was conceited and vain. I pitied the hero and despised his friends. The characters, the dialogues and the plot were too immature for me.

I enjoyed the first two books, hopefully I’ll like the next one better.

****4 STARS****

I freaking love this book so, so much. It reminded me of my own personal love story with my hubby. I swear my hubby and Rhett have got to be the same person. The only difference would be that Rhett is from the south and my man is from Scotland. They both have sexy as fuck accents that make panties drop without asking.

I don’t know why in the H, E, double L my ass hasn’t reviewed the first two books in this series on my blog as I have enjoyed every single one, but whatever. We are going to chat about this baby right here.

Rhett is my future baby daddy. He reminded me of my husband when we first met so fucking much. A man who had no idea how amazing they were to the point of foolishness. Cute foolishness but foolishness nonetheless.

After reading book one and two, I thought I knew where book three would go. I figured it would be similar to the others. You know, the popular wrestler who decides he’s ready to be a one woman man. Well, damn, that wasn’t what this story was about whatsoever. Sara Ney did the damn thing and twisted it up on us to let readers know that she is not a predictable writer.

Rhett is the sweetest. His heart is huge and filled with nothing but love. I don’t think he could hate something or someone if he tried with everything in his soul.

Laurel. . .she’s BAE. I could rock with her. She’s the type of female that I would go out for drinks with. She’s beautiful and she knows it, more than that, she owns it. Yasssssss!!!!! I’m all about a woman who knows her worth. Plus, I have a thing for redheads. They’re crazy as fuck, just like me.

How they meet… Classic.

How they get to know each other… Beautiful.

The way they grow… Perfect.

Yeah, I’m straight up in love with their love.

But nothing is easy and insecurities and misunderstandings run deep. Word left unspoken sting. Even though some of those words are said in French – yes, ladies, French. They don’t count if the other person can’t understand you.

“J’ai peur de t’aimer.” I’m afraid to let myself like you. Behind a cloak of ambiguity, knowing she couldn’t possibly understand, I whisper the words I’d only reserved for myself. “Je the vex tellement.” I want you so bad. – Rhett

I’m not a mushy person but Rhett’s similarities to my husband had me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Rhett is all man but he is also something more, a gentleman. He’s a rare bred. They don’t make them like him anymore. He’s like the modern day Jamie from Outlander. If anyone reading this doesn’t know about Jamie I need you to figure out life because he is EVERYTHING. Not knowing about Jamie is like living without Amazon Prime. You just can’t do it.

Back to my review.

At first I wasn’t 100% for sure about Laurel because was coming off like a bitch, but then I was like, “I say shit like that all the time. Ok, I like her.” As Rhett’s personality started to shine, I was over here like, “Yassss, bitch! Yassss!” I wanted them to work so, so bad. The angst was real.

Let me let you in on a little secret; I love douchebags. In the figurative sense, of course, but there’s nothing better than a selfish jerk to give any story a little oomph. Sara Ney has done a fabulous job with the first two books in her How to Date a Douchebag series and while I enjoyed those immensely, The Learning Hours is in a class by itself.

This book is hands down my favorite NA read in recent memory. As much as I want to share everything wonderful and emotional I felt while reading it, I also appreciate the fact I went into it blind and got the chance to experience it first hand for myself. That element of surprise made all of the difference and while I love the embarrassed, awkward, excited and giddy feels it provoked, this book deserves a chance to be read with little expectation as to the direction of the story.

I can sense your pissed offness for not giving you the 411 and for that I’m willing to share just a bit:

The Learning Hours is the hottest of the series so far, in my opinion. The delicious sexual tension (I swore I'd never use that phrase) between the two main characters felt more amped up in general and I enjoyed every minute of it.

• From the very beginning, every interaction between characters felt meaningful and important to the story. In fact almost every encounter written, whether it be between the two main characters or with side characters involved, gave me a case of the feels. Joyful, mad, sad and everything in between, this book brought the emotion.

• The smile on my face when I finished reading lasted hours. No joke. That right there’s worth the price of admission.

While I’ve been a fan if this series from the beginning, Sara Ney has outdone herself with The Learning Hours. Sweet, sexy and utterly charming, I loved every minute I spent with this book.

Where the hell have I been? I must have been living under a rock or something because Sara Ney has popped my Douchebag cherry with her latest release, The Learning Hours. Not only have I discovered a new author to stalk because apparently I need to catch up on the first two books of How To Date A Douchebag Series.

#TheLearningHours1

The New Adult genre is either a hit or miss with me but holy freaking moly, I love The Learning Hours. I seriously hands down LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this book so much!!! It was everything that I could have wanted and so much more. It had chemistry, friendship, and that butterfly in the stomach kind of love. Trust me when I tell you that you can’t help but smile like a fool. Yes, I was that reader who was smiling nonstop and who didn’t want the book to end.

0ee8531533d7cf0818f06363ff3684 Tu me rends fou pour quelques semaines.” You’ve been driving me crazy for weeks. “What are you saying?” she asks with a sigh, tilting her head, giving me access to the pale column of her neck. “J’ai peur de t’aimer.” I’m afraid to let myself like you. Behind a cloak of ambiguity, knowing she couldn’t possibly understand, I whisper the words I’d only reserved for myself. “Je te veux tellement.” I want you so bad.”

With the over-saturation of tough, douchey, cocky, alpha male heroes in the romance book world, it was so refreshing to finally read a book where the hero is just innocent, smart, sweet, kind, generous, and real. Sara Ney truly nailed it when she gave us perfection when she gave us Rhett Rabideaux. Ladies, prepare to swoon.

#TheLearningHours2

Honestly my fellow romance fans, do yourself a favor and GO READ this book!!!! The Learning Hours was sweet perfection. The writing was fabulous. The characters were amazing. And as for the story line, it was original, fresh, and oh so charming!!!!!

#TheLearningHours

P.S. Did I mention that I reread this book two times already? So yes, I highly recommend this book and go one-click The Learning Hours right now.

So, we are not allowed to reveal the “douchebag” this book is about, so I am gonna do my best without spoiling everyone (even though it’s pretty difficult). This all starts when a member of the wrestling team is getting hazed by his teammates. As a part of the hazing, they decide to put up posters advertising his need to get laid. Suddenly, this hero is getting hundreds of text messages, but one of them stands out among all the trash.

While I can’t say who the hero was, this is who I pictured the heroine as:

Sarah Ney had delivered one of my favorite new adult romance series! For some reason, the college romances seem to have disappeared from the romance genre recently, and I feel like Ney is the only one keeping it alive. I am so grateful she is, because I love college romances! And the douchebags are some of the best heroes there are!

What I can say, is I really loved the hero and the heroine. Both are flawed and don’t always know what they’re doing, or to articulate how they feel. But together they were perfect. This book was also super hot! Steamy romance fans you will be pleased. There were also some small doses of angst that I appreciated, but being me I wished there was a tad but more.

If you haven’t picked up the douchebag series yet, now is the time! It’s perfect for fall weather and curling up with a coffee/tea and these books.

BOOK REVIEW

I’ve found my favorite hero in the Douchebag series. While Zeke and Oz crept their way into my heart, hero #3 (I won’t say much about this book’s main characters since I think it would be better for the reader to meet them on their own) didn’t even knock. I just blinked, and there he was, sitting comfortably with a plate of cookies in his hand.

Again, I won’t say much about couple #3, but all I can say is I was pleasantly surprised. If anyone can write a douchebag you want to slap in the back of the head, it’s Sara Ney. She promised a douchebag, and she delivered. I almost wanted to drop the book because I was so frustrated with said douchebag, but then I finally understood what was happening and holy sh*tballs, you guys. My mind was blown.

I don’t know how she did it, but Sara Ney successfully converted me from loathing douchebag #3 to wanting said d-bag to end up with the romantic interest. She also wrote realistic characters who aren’t always at their A game. The leads act their age, talk their age, and it was refreshing to see the effort they make to “look perfect”. I love that she wrote how some people look good because they make an effort to look flawless.

And I have to say this—Rex Gunderson and the other jocks can go suck a dick. I’ve never wanted to punch a group of side characters this much.

WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT THE AUDIOBOOK?

I think Josh Goodman pretty much won me over. His voice was exactly what I imagined the hero to sound like, and I loved the drawl, the small nuances in his voice that showed the hero’s personality.

I have to be honest and say I wasn’t a huge fan of Muffy Newtown at the start of the audiobook because she sounded a bit robotic, monotonous, compared to Josh Goodman. I eventually got used to her voice and enjoyed her narration, especially when she was portraying other characters than the lead.

WAS THIS A BOOK YOU WANTED TO LISTEN TO ALL IN ONE SITTING?

If you’re like me and you’re pretty new to listening to audiobooks, I don’t think this is something you’d listen to in one sitting. Aside from the fact it’s a 10-hr audiobook, it gets frustrating to listen to douchebags, even if that’s the purpose of the story. But 50% and onwards, it’s something I couldn’t not listen to anymore. I had to finish it!

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THIS AUDIOBOOK TO A FRIEND? IF SO, WHY?

Yes! If you’re a fan of great character growth, a nice pace in a new adult romance, characters that grow on you, and a wonderful voice that basically whispers dirty things in your ears, then yes. You should definitely listen to The Learning Hours.

Every now and then I go back to this series and devour my most favorite books, Zeke, Oz and Abe own a place in my heart - and even years later they are still my favorites.
___________________________________

You guys have to try this book - I fell in LOVE with it HEAD OVER HEELS!!!

So special that it honestly threw me for a loop. The Learning Hours was so much more than I could have ever hoped for. Sara Ney made the unthinkable happen - she turned my life upside down.

And I'm not blowing smoke here.

You guys have no idea what's coming!!!

If you think you know what to expect - think again. This is not your regular college romance. I'm still blown away by these two characters that were so unique and nothing as I thought they would be. OMG - this is soooo hard!!!! Not blabbing my mouth and accidentally revealing the BIGGEST COOLEST TWIST ever.

I fucking adored this plot!!!!

So far Zeke has been my favorite, just because I love his grouchy and scowly face. But now, guess what! Zeke has to share my love and I'm rating The Learning Hours HIGHER!!! Yes, you heard me right - this amazing book gets all of my elusive stars.

FIVE FUCKING DOUCHEBAG STARS!!!!

Oops - I'm using f-words left and right. I'm blaming the author for it.:D

I'm still emotionally charged and can't stop thinking straight. I already pimped this book to my blog partner. And I'll pimp it to anyone that is in hearing distance and has the bad luck of talking to me. :D

This book ROCKED!!!

I still can't believe that Sara Ney managed to turn everything I thought I knew upside down.

I absolutely adored the characters. Her and HIM - OMG!!!! Cue SWOONING. I don't know where she gets her ideas from, but if I go by her videos she has tons. But with The Learning Hours she wrote a WINNER!! Both characters were one of a kind personalities. They drew me in, made me fall in love with them and will be some of my favorites of all time.

And to be honest the characters were the reason why I couldn't put down the book. I hated that I had to go to work. I was such a grump all day. I didn't want to put my kindle down. This book was addictive, and made me sooooo happy!!! I think I was smiling all the time.

The Learning Hours was a book full of emotion - heart-warming, swoony, sexy and a whole lot of FUN. It honestly was the PERFECT combination of everything that makes a book awesome. I loved and adored it and I can only recommend it to anyone that is willing to listen to my gushing.

This book is for you NA lovers. A college, sports romance with HEART and SOUL!!!!!

The BEST of the BEST!!

➦This beauty and the beast college romance is verra verra good. Get it, read it, love it. #the end

➦Ok, I'm kidding. I got stuff to say still. A wrestler who's face has seen better days and a redhead beauty. Will he ever believe someone like her could be with someone like him?

➦This hero wasn't brooding or a douche. He was actually very sweet and rather insecure. It was very endearing but I kept wishing that he would show his savage side at once point or another. It sort of kind of happened but not to a degree that I wanted. But hey, he was still great. Both main characters were great. Ok, I'm out.

PERFECT!!! I loved this book so much, both the hero and the heroine were absolutely and utterly perfect!

It's a hard review to write since the author wants to keep the main characters on the hush-hush, but let me tell you now it was one of the most swoon-worthy books I have read in a long time. So many feelings, I can't even begin to tell you how perfect this heroine was for our hero, she was exactly what he needed. And he was so, so adorable...

To describe this story in a few words - delicious, expectant, awkward, sexy, funny, swoony, and cute!

One of my top reads this year, and my fave in the series!

The Learning Hours is part of a series of Standalone Sports Romance novels. Told from dual POV.

Wow, this book was nothing like what I was expecting. Let me start off with the fact this is my first Sara Ney book. I've seen my book friends reading this series and enjoying it which piqued my curiosity. I was given the opportunity to listen to the audio of this book and I didn't hesitate to agree. Normally, I'll go to Amazon or Audible and listen to a sample because I'm a firm believer that a listening experience can either be enhanced or ruined by the narrator. Even though I skipped checking to see if I meshed with the narrators I found their narration to be excellent. It was done by duel narrators who were enjoyable to listen to.

HEROINE
_________________
What an unexpected surprise to find out that the douchebag in this story wasn't the hero but the heroine. THE HEROINE IS THE DOUCHEBAG! She was very mean girl early on in the story. I didn't care for her at all. But like all redeemable douchebags, they start to become enlightened by their shallowness and become more likable.

_________________
HERO
_________________
The hero was thought to be the ugly duckling among his peers. Unlike in other books when the girl considers herself to be the ugly one and the hero sees her as the most beautiful girl in the whole world that isn't the case for our hero. The heroine doesn't even find our hero to be attractive. His teammates make jabs at him for being "ugly." But the thing is our hero knows that there's more than your looks that make you a person worth knowing. He strong in that knowledge and doesn't have a 'poor me' attitude.

THE LEARNING HOURS
_________________
This book was amply named. The heroine learns to not judge someone on their looks but to look deeper and focus on someone's character. Beauty radiates from the inside. The hero learns that someone who is considered gorgeous can love him even if is 5 and she's a 10 on a scale of hotness.

THE LEARNING HOURS is the third book in the How to Date Douchebag series. It can be read as a standalone. Lovers of a good guy getting the hot girl will enjoy this college sports romance. I was so immersed in their story that I wore headphones to bed so I could keep listening to it as I was falling asleep. GREAT STORY!

Confession: I didn't really like book 1: The Studying Hours. Not enough to want to even attempt to read book 2: The Failing Hours.

But I gave book 3 a shot because so many people said it had a different feel than the first or second.

I'm definitely glad I did. I found the hero and heroine in this to be absolutely adorable and the sexual tension between them was SMOKING. Even though the heroine was insanely shallow in the beginning, she won me over as the story progressed. I had the cheesiest smile on my face reading them fall for one another.

But besides the editing issues I noticed, another reason I gave this the rating I did was because I really could not stand the side characters. Not even one. Usually side characters steal the show, but the ones in this book made me want to choke them. Slowly. The hero's roommates and teammates were incredibly annoying and also disgusting bullies. Each crude joke any of them said just took away from the story for me. I also didn't really like how the hazing/bullying the hero dealt with was completely brushed over.

The MCs and their relationship are what kept me reading, and it turned out to be a pretty sweet enjoyable story.

I’m quickly learning that Rhett Rabideaux isn’t most guys”

This is quite possibly the happiest my ears have ever been. Because this audio? This audio book was EVERYTHING.

Now this particular picky reader doesn't typically like audio books. Either the pacing annoys me or the narrators do. There's too much monotone, too much overacting, and all the more nitpicking on my end. But this book? This was the icing on the already perfect cake. As much as I adored reading this book, listening to it made me fall in love with it even more.
Rhett Rabideaux may not be prince charming but he’s something else entirely: he’s real. He is who he is, and makes no apologies. He’s polite and sincere.”

Josh Goodman's delicious voice in my ear narrating the part of Rhett was pure perfection. And here I thought it will never get better than Rhett.

I'm a huge fan of NA romance, but the good kind are getting harder and harder to find. This is the book that tops all NA books I've ever read to date. This story was incredible. It was sweet, and touching, and so different that I simply couldn't help but swoon super hard over it.

Muffy Newtown is now easily one of my favorite female narrators. She did this heroine so much justice. It was like listening to a movie while having the scene roll through your mind's eye. I simply don't have enough good things to say about it. This was, hands down, my favorite audio book to date.

And this book was, hands down, my favorite NA romance to date. I love a book that mixes things up and isn't afraid to go out of the typical cookie cutter formula, and that's exactly what Sara Ney did here.

This was the happiest 10 hours of my giddy ears' life. Truly.

**2nd reread October 2021**

OH. MY. FUCKING. GAWD!!!!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, PEOPLE!

On 26th September 2017 get your arse to amazon and one click THIS BOOK!!!

Seriously, I can’t get my words out quick enough, I want to run around my neighbourhood (preferably naked) and knock on every fuckers door just so I can gush to them about how amazing this book!

I can't do that so I'm going to tell YOU instead…THIS BOOK IS FUCKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I couldn’t put the fucker down once I started and lost hours of sleep because of it.

When I wasn’t reading it, I was thinking about it. When I was sleeping I was dreaming about it.

I would even set my bloody alarm 3 hours early just so I can get some reading time in before work – I haven’t done that in YEARS!

There are a million things I loved about this story and one of them was that it was so DIFFERENT to anything I’ve ever read and it’s so hard to explain why because I can’t give anything away, so you’ll just have to read it to find out…

I fucking loved HIM and HER, they have become one of my favourite fictional characters. They were PERFECT for each other and I was rooting for them from the get go.

They made me SWOON and gave me that butterfly feeling in my tummy.

Also I'd like to point out that this book was HOT. Like really fucking HOT.

The dry humping alone make me want to take a cold shower and whilst we are on the subject – Sara Ney writes the BEST DRY HUMPING SCENES EVER! Fuck me sideways!

I loved this book and for someone who is picky as fuck when it comes to reading this book is up there for me and without a doubt in my top 5 of the year.

Sara Ney blew my mind with her words and this story and it’s one I will never forget.

If you need a break from reality and want an adventure then read this book. It was SO MUCH FUN and gave me goosebumps…and a boner.

It was absolutely PERFECT and everything you could want in a romance book and SO MUCH MORE!

If I could give this a million stars then I would.

(I’ve read this series out of order so they can all be read as standalones in my opinion)

Overall Opinion: This was a cute read. I enjoy the idea of the H not being as attractive as the h. I've only read one other book that was like this in that sense, Things Liars Say, and I didn't even realize that it was by the same author. I am giving this a higher rating just for that unique aspect alone.

Otherwise, I had some issues...

I felt like there could've been more of a conflict between them. There was very little drama, and what there was was self-induced from insecurities. The h could've been a little less "I'm so beautiful and I know it", and the H could've been more confident (at least with his wrestling!). While it was pretty hot, the sex felt like filler and I think the story would've been better if that time spent on them going at it like bunnies was used for something else. I also think that the ending was lackluster and a little abrupt. I wanted a farther glimpse into their future, and I wanted some concrete ideas on where they'll be in their lives later on. I get that they are young, but these juniors in college so it's not totally outrageous to want this! I felt like it was more of a YA type of ending tbh.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Laurel and Rhett's story. Rhett is a new wrestling transfer at the college Laurel goes to. He is having troubles with his new teammates hazing him, and in one of the pranks they post a picture of him on a flyer around campus asking girls to help him get laid. Laurel's cousin gets her to text him, and they start a text relationship. When they meet in person, Rhett firmly puts Laurel in the friend zone because he feels that she is too beautiful to be anywhere near his league. After a while, Laurel gets Rhett to see her differently and they fall in love. There is a good bit of sexy times, some sweet moments, minimal drama...and a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Laurel and Rhett's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. The ending felt a little abrupt, but otherwise I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: No, they take a while to develop stronger feelings.

H rating: 3.5 stars. Rhett. I liked him, but I wanted him to be a little more confident at times.

h rating: 3.5 stars. Laurel. I liked her, but sometimes it would've been nice if she was a little more humble.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: Not really

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: No. Once they get together they stay together.

Possible Triggers: Not really.

Closure: I wanted more (shocking, right?!), and I had some unanswered questions. This has a HFN ending.

How I got it: It was part of my scribd subscription.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

It's LIVE & on Blog Tour ➜ http://bit.ly/2xDMXuK

I have loved each and every book in this series and this one was no different. This story was a departure from the previous ones in that the hero was a literal hero. He was kind, generous, warm, intelligent, amazing, naive, sexy, underrated, insecure, and totally awesome!! He was completely different from everyone else and was unappreciated. He wasn’t a douchebag, but that didn’t stop his friends from trying to turn him into one.

The blurb states that the hero’s friends put up posters with his face and number with an ad that details:
Are you the lucky lady who's going to break our roommate's cherry?
Him: socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: must have a pulse. He will reciprakate with oral. Text him at: 555-254-5551

Although this can be seen as cruel and embarrassing, which made my heart hurt for the hero, it definitely put into motion his key to happiness and thereafter, the story takes a strange and beautiful turn.

I honestly don’t want to give too much away. Just know that this story was sweet, sexy, humorous as heck, and incredibly enjoyable. I obviously gave it 5 stars for a reason. I don’t hand stars out all willy-nilly. Its got to touch some part of me. Influence, inspire or speak to me in some way. And this book did that. This hero did that. I dare you to try not to fall in love with this guy. It’s so easy to fall all over him. He’s amazing!! So why not one-click it for yourself to find out why?

So this review is probably going to be very short and vague, so I'll start with just telling you that you should probably one click these books if you haven't already. College wrestlers and the girls that bring them to their knees, what more could you possibly want? The author has also asked that we avoid spoilers at all costs, including the main characters names, so I apologize in advance if I just start talking about this guy or that girl. It'll all make sense once you read the book. ;)

Jumping right into it, likes chat about the hero, shall we? He was so sweet, and a far cry from how the heroes in the previous two books acted which was a refreshing twist that Sara worked with. He was so sweet, occasionally nervous, modest, adorable, a tad naive in the most endearing way and just overall, heartwarmingly awesome. This guy was perfect for this book. Oh and um, HE SPEAKS FRENCH! If your lady parts aren't quivering like the heroine's, they should be by this point.

That brings us to the heroine, and to be honest, I was a little worried near the beginning of how these two were going to work together. To me, they seemed more like oil and vinegar than anything. But being the strong headed, stubborn girl that she was, the heroine here actually did the chasing which was fun to see. And I feel the need to point out that I really didn't like this girl at the beginning. She was arrogant, vain, self centred and catty. It's only then that I realized, "wait a second, this is the douchebag series. The heroine is the DB in the case instead of the expected hero!" After I figured this out, it went smoother for me and yes, just like the boys in the previous books, this girl does worm her way into your good graces.

There was one tiny aspect of this story that I was becoming a little annoyed with and that was the *pranks* (changed what I would originally say to avoid spoilers. If you read the book, you'll understand. I get it, it's college, they're serious athletes, but just relax a little, would you? It just seemed like one thing after another and this hero was getting everything dumped on him when he was already so unsure of everything in his life. I seriously felt bad for the guy! I don't think I've ever wanted to hug a fictional character so badly. I guess what I'm getting at is I wish this was toned down a little to then develop the relationship between the MC and the team a bit more.

My favourite part of the books I read is the fun, flirty dialogue. I like those moments when the characters are first meeting or connecting and everything is fun and exciting. In The Learning Hours, Sara gives us PLENTY of that and I was one happy camper! You get to witness entire texting exchanges between these characters and it really helped to show how their relationship originally starts, considering they don't yet know each other in person.

I know this really doesn't give a lot of info but if you're reading this, it means you're already at least somewhat interested in the book. So go for it. And while this didn't knock my boy Zeke (book 2) out of the top spot for my favourite DB book, it was right up there and definitely a strong companion.

So let's raise our red solo cups to Sara Ney on another winner! I can't wait for early 2018 when her next series (BASEBALL!!!!) starts. <3

***IT'S ALIVE!!***

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

***4.5 stars***

Geez, my headline is corny but it really does explain The Learning Hours. Outside beauty can hide an ugly inside and inside beauty can be hidden by an ugly outside. We all have different tastes that attract us to our desired partners. I myself, don’t particularly find long hair on guys attractive. I’m not a huge fan of fake tans, fat necks (the overly muscled kind), or dyed hair either, but each to their own.

I admit that The Learning Hours threw me for a loop. As the story unfolded I was gobsmacked to find that the story didn’t flow as I expected. Surprisingly, I think it was better than what I had pre-planned my brain to expect.

Sidetrack…do you do that? You know, guess what’s going to happen before you even start? Think you know how it should be written? I love it when I’m surprised. Oh sure, a little part of me will analyse whether my storyline was better than the authors. Most times the authors get it right…which is why they’re earning the big bucks. 😉

I’m not going to go into my usual ramblings because I really believe that this story needs to be experienced without knowing all the details. I will say this though, SARA NEY WRITES SOME OF THE MOST INFURIATING CHARACTERS!!! I wanted to reach into the book, pull a few characters out by their ears and give them a good talking to. Tears, I tell you. I was a blubbering mess at times. How does Sara Ney manage to take me from hate to love? It’s frustrating, to be honest. I want to hate them for a bit longer. I cant draw out the hate though because I have to read the book quickly to find out what’s happening next.

Oh, how readers must suffer when they find an author to love (hand to my forehead, in a woe is me, stance).

Remarkably, I have managed to write a fairly short review (pat myself on the back). Readers who have enjoyed the How to Date a Douchebag series will be surprised where this one goes. Stick with it because it’s bloody brilliant. Readers will be frustrated, angry, upset, giddy, overjoyed and content. The Learning Hours has all the gut punches you would expect, mixed with some sweet, soppy and loving moments.

I definitely recommend The Learning Hours and the How to Date a Douchebag series. Pretty please Sara Ney, may I have some more…

Sara Ney completely flips the script in The Learning Hours. It's role-reversal at it's finest. She takes the typical structure of a romance novel and flips it upside. Well done, Sara! Well done indeed!

Here's the breakdown: Rhett Rabideaux is surrounded by douches. Like, seriously annoying douches, folks. His roomates are idiots. His teammates are PIAs. And the women trying to get his attention...forget about it---they're definitely douches. LMAO Poor Rhett has just transferred from LSU in his home state of Louisiana and has no true friends or family close by and on top of that, as mentioned, he's surrounded by jerks. But one text changes the course of events and we learn that maybe dating a douchebag isn't so bad after all.

Here's what I enjoyed:
Rhett is such a sweetie. Gah, I loved him. The poor guy is so lovable and huggable! And being fluent in French! Whew! How hot is that?! Totes, HAWT!! I'm glad I listened to the audiobook version because I would have botched the pronunciations. I highly recommend this audiobook, if for no other reason, than that one.

I liked the gender reversal and the fact that the douchebag was the heroine and not the hero. I'm not typically a big fan of super sweet heroes. I like jerky assholes, but Rhett held his own. The author handled this well because if he'd been a complete pushover, I wouldn't have finished the book. IJS.

I enjoyed the interaction Laurel has with Rhett's family. I have to admit, I really hated her early on. But after they got together and she really started to show how genuine her feelings were for Rhett, she grew on me. Her character growth was astounding.

Overall, these books are so much fun! The captions at each chapter opening cracked me up. The characters cracked me. It was a really good read. Recommended to fans of role reversals, douche-nozzles, and super sweet male leads.

Audiobook Review: Buy it! It's perfect! #thatisall

2023 audiobook reread. Still love this. The male narrator’s French accent was worse than mine but you can’t have everything.

I really need to stop rereading this one - it’s been three times in a year now, it’s like a comfort blanket.

This has been my favourite of this series to date.

This series so far has featured a variation on the 'impossibly hot elite sportsman and manwhore gets tamed' plot, with lots banter and feels. In this though, the sportsman is a nice guy, relatively inexperienced with women and lacking confidence while the woman was the sexually confident one. At first, I wasn't so sure I'd like that, but it made for some delicious slow burn tension and they both learned stuff about themselves along the way. The banter was more to my taste in this as Rhett is a more mature and dignified character than many of his daft team mates, so he's not drawn into tstl territory and his chivalry made me swoon.

I had a lovely time in my reading bubble with this yesterday, it was pretty low angst and it gave me all of the feels. The smut was hot, but the kisses were especially good.*sigh*

Loved it. Highly recommended and available on ku. Complete story that would work as a standalone.

5+++++ stars!!!

I LOVED this book! There's not a lot I can say about it because the author wants the characters kept secret but I will say that this is probably my favorite book I've read this year! There is honestly not one thing I would change about this story and I think every single one of my goodreads friends is going to LOVE this book too! Fantastic!!!!

This was another fantastic book in this series. I completely devoured it. As far as the love story goes this was perfection. The hero, OMG he was so sweet and adorable. And the heroine was completely sassy, a true spitfire. I was completely consumed by their story. I love that it was somewhat original and that it was a true case of the good, but not so great looking guy getting the gorgeous girl. A girl that looked past appearances. It was so endearing and beautiful.

So Wil, if you thought it was perfect, why not 5 stars? Well, I debated this a lot in my head, kept going back and forth between 5 or 4. And this is why:

Other than that, this was fantastic and I'm completely in love with this author's stories!

I loved Rhett and Laurel's story. Rhett isn't a douchebag, at all. He's one of the most endearing heroes I've read so far. So adorable, how he can't believe his luck that Laurel wants to spend time with him, watch him find confidence with her. I would have liked to see the guys who were hazing him, get real punishment for their actions.

When I started this story I wasn't Laurel's biggest fan - she was bullying him too and I was wondering how Sara Ney would make me believe that Laurel was actually worthy of Rhett. But she did (although I felt like the way she treated him in the beginning and after she got to know him didn't mesh. It was uncharacteristic and a huge change without any gradual growth. Nevertheless, I really loved Laurel.

Josh Goodman and Muffy Newtown are two of my favorites but I have to say that both of their French accents are horrible. I don't expect perfection but it sounded all wrong, staccato, stilted. Ah well, I still loved their performance!

This review is very hard to do cause we can't really say much. I could spend hours talking about it and how amazing it is and believe me it's great.

I m a big fan of this series it's just brilliant and this book is maybe the best out of the 3. The story had me happy, sad, angry and maybe frustrated in parts. But once I started I couldn't put it down from the first page I was hooked. This book is a little different from the other 2 books but just as good. I actually liked that it was different.

I love the characters so much. There just great I did have a few moments where I was getting a lil angry at people through this and there were times where I wanted to cuddle people maybe I wanted to actually cuddle one throughout the whole book.

This book does have everything that you want it's funny and sexy. I just loved every bit of this book. Im really hoping that series isn't over it's one of my favourite series so I'm crossing my fingers it's not over. I would highly recommend it your really not goin to be disappointed.

I totally LOVE this book. Damn this was so good! This was the best in the series I’ve read so far.

I went into this blind once again and I had no idea who the main characters were but I loved it all the same.

It had douchey girl and nice guy as the main trope and I fricken ate that shit up 🤌 I stayed up way too late to read this bc it was just so damn refreshing to read. I love the writing and the scenes were never boring or repetitive. Their relationship was adorable and sweet but spicy and the characters were so damn cute 😋

LAUREL was so fricken hilarious and persistent which I loved. RHETT was so damn oblivious and sweet. It did make me want to scream at him for being so stupid but that’s just me.
IMAGINE MY SHOCK WHEN HE SPOKE FRENCH 🤠

I was so relieved to find the plot didn’t revolve heavily around how they met because that would’ve destroyed my will to live. And the third act wasn’t even miscommunication (Jumping for joy🤸🏻‍♀️)

I adored everything about this book. I’m loving this authors work and I can’t wait to read more!

Sara Ney has done it again! The Learning Hours is an unexpectedly heartwarming romantic comedy, as well as a fantastic addition to an addictive series.

This story is a departure from the premise established in the previous Douchebag books, but it’s no less delightful. Rather than having a hero who is an utter tool, the hero in this book is a kind, gentle soul through and through. It’s the heroine who is a supremely shallow ass.

I loved that the hero is vulnerable and humble yet tough. The heroine readily admits to being an egotistical beatch, but it only makes her growing insecurities and frustrations all the more satisfying. I enjoyed the pacing of her emotional development as well as the progression of their romantic relationship.

If you’re fond of super jerks, this book has you covered. There are plenty of über douchebags—both male and female—to enjoy hating. The ridiculously trifling teammates, in particular, are both annoying and entertaining.

The Learning Hours is a funny, scorching, feel-good treat.
