Well, no kidding, that was really an interesting book. Normally, it is a book I would DNF at some point but it is so unbelievably bad and ridiculous that I was hooked to see how worse it could get.
Well, this is no romance. Some people tagged it as erotica, OK, it could be, and I am adding “humor” to the shelves because, although it doesn’t intend to do so, it makes you laugh a lot. I really LMAO.

So, what do we have here?
1. A man-whore? --> Check
2. An asshole who uses women and than throws them away into the trash bin like a dirty piece of Kleenex --> Check
3. Women everywhere who are dying to give it to him no matter how rude he is --> Check
4. A woman (our darling heroine) who acts upon her hormones rather than using her brain --> Check
As you know, for every man-whore who uses women for his own pleasure and treats them like a piece of shit, we need a stupid woman who sees what kind of a gem that man is and seeing his worth, who can’t get rid of her melting panties soon enough.

You all know killing is no big deal. So, please don't make it a bigger deal than it really is.

Pffft, what did you think? Is she any woman? She is the ONE! And he later brings a health report and she also asks his friend, who is a doctor, to test her and they are all good!

I didn’t know what to expect when I was starting Dark Edges. I found the synopsis intriguing so I decided to give it a try. And what a nice surprise...It turned out to be Amazing!
Brief synopsis…
In two months of marriage, Naomi is worried that her husband is having an affair. So, she hires a private investigator to put her mind at ease finally. Chase accepts the job but without exposing his identity to her. What Naomi doesn’t know yet, is that Chase is the sexy man she had secretly and accidentally witnessed receiving a blowjob at a club the previous night, a voyeuristic, hot game that both Chase and Naomi had played in the shadows. When he had met her magnetic gaze at that moment, he had instantly felt her arousal and he had got off knowing he was being watched by her. Now, Naomi needs his services and he’s more than willing to take the case. Chase finds her attractive in an animalistic way. He knows exactly what he wants and Naomi is it. From the moment he spotted her at the club, he knew he wanted to grab hold and take a bite.
My thoughts…
Chase is a leading male, possessive, he has a dirty mouth and says exactly what he feels and is thinking without sugar coating it. Chase wants Naomi, and what Chase wants, Chase gets. Naomi is sweet and submissive. She’s never met a man like Chase before. A dominant, as alpha as a male can get and really protective over her. The sex is hot and they just manage to pull it off anywhere and everywhere! Chase never thought that he would be ready to face the challenges to possess her heart. And, Naomi never expected that she would enjoy so much surrendering and becoming a willing player in Chase’s games of passion.
This book is so hot it should be illegal! It's provocative, heartfelt, and passionate with believable, realistic characters and a tension between them that oozes from the pages from beginning to end.
I loved Dark Edges, I didn't want to put it down. From the very beginning this book firmly gripped my attention. It had the perfect balance of sheet-scorching sex, character development, amazing storyline and easy to love secondary characters. This book is the first in the series and I look forward to reading much much more from Mr. KC.

I read quite a bit, not gonna lie, BUT I just couldn't get passed him having one too many sexual encounters with OW..... Listen, I don't like it BUT I can get over a very short brief sexual encounter at the start but when I am still getting those scenes as the story progresses then that's a NO for me.
I just couldn't get into either of the main characters unfortunately. Maybe it's just a me thing because some of my GR friends did like it so hey....you win some, you lose some...in this case it was a lose situation for me personally.

So when I saw this book being promoted, I thought I would give it a chance. I am always looking for new authors to read so i was excited when I saw the opportunity to sign up for a review copy.
Basically, I knew what I was expecting when the book was described as erotica. I also knew, based on the synopsis that I was most likely either going to love or hate Chase. I was expecting rough around the edges...I only kind of liked Chase, if I am being honest. Myself, I don't like my guys to sleep around before the get with the girl. It stresses me out, plain and simple. And Chase, well, that's what he did. Ya ya, I get it, I know, they were not in a relationship, etc...but still, I don't like it. So, strike one against Chase. And really, that...well, and the dirty talk. Again....I love it, I do...however, I think that one can use the word "cunt" too much. And Chase Black loved that word.....a lot.
Then we have Naomi, or "No" (not a fan of the nickname because I kept reading it like NO)....I ride the fence with her too...She's not my favorite heroine but she's also not my least favorite I have ever read. She was just okay for me....I can't really pinpoint what it was, but at times I felt she might be a tad crazy? or she was just sheltered? emotionally beat down? I am not sure...
Overall, I liked the premise of this story. Aside from what I have previously mentioned, I liked the character's okay. I did not, however, like the ending....but I am assuming we will be getting a book 2?
Over all, 3.75 stars for this debut novel by Kane Caldwell :)
Basically, I knew what I was expecting when the book was described as erotica. I also knew, based on the synopsis that I was most likely either going to love or hate Chase. I was expecting rough around the edges...I only kind of liked Chase, if I am being honest. Myself, I don't like my guys to sleep around before the get with the girl. It stresses me out, plain and simple. And Chase, well, that's what he did. Ya ya, I get it, I know, they were not in a relationship, etc...but still, I don't like it. So, strike one against Chase. And really, that...well, and the dirty talk. Again....I love it, I do...however, I think that one can use the word "cunt" too much. And Chase Black loved that word.....a lot.
Then we have Naomi, or "No" (not a fan of the nickname because I kept reading it like NO)....I ride the fence with her too...She's not my favorite heroine but she's also not my least favorite I have ever read. She was just okay for me....I can't really pinpoint what it was, but at times I felt she might be a tad crazy? or she was just sheltered? emotionally beat down? I am not sure...

5 Dark Edgy stars
This will definitely not be the last book I read by Kane Caldwell. It has left me a little breathless as I wasn’t expecting the story to take the turns it did.
Seriously, this book, I could not put it down once I started it.
Chase Black definitely isn’t someone to mess with. He will take what he wants but he does it so effortlessly. Women drool over him and he never gets attached to any of them. Or does he?
As a PI and ex-Marine, he is a strong, alpha male who is possessive over the things he loves and has a filthy mouth and says exactly what he is thinking. Definitely a hero you want to get to know.
His life changes when he gets an email for a new case. Naomi needs his help.
How does Chase’s life change I hear you asking? Well I encourage you to purchase the book and read it. You will not be disappointed.
Naomi is going through her own despair with her marriage and needs Chase’s help in uncovering what is going on. In saying that, Naomi is one sexy, sassy character who discovers more about herself as her journey with Chase progresses - more than she knew. And I loved how she held her own throughout this story.
It is well written and the characters are well developed. The chemistry between Chase and Naomi was extraordinary. The sexual tension and the attraction between them was irresistible.
Mr. Caldwell gives you an insight into every little piece of the puzzle, but when you think you might know what’s going on – BAM – another twist is added. I love it when that happens.
This story has everything in it, lies, betrayal, love, scorching sex, drama and more. It’s suggestive, gripping and absorbing.
I am looking forward to reading more of Kane Caldwell’s stories.

The prologue leaves you so intrigued
that I could not wait to get to chapter one.
Dark Edges gives you a story that keeps
you guessing, and a twist that I did not
see coming.
Chase, a super hot Alpha male, he is tall,
dark, handsome with piercing blue eyes,
and has a very dirty mouth.
Yep he is the whole package!
Naomi, she is beautiful, smart, sweet
and is just looking to to find out the truth
in regards to her relationship and to
move forward.
Chase owns a Dark Edges which is a PI firm via
email Naomi contacts him and that is where
the journey starts. Chase knows what Naomi
looks like and knows about her life. But, Naomi
knows very little about Chase.There friendship
starts through texts and phone calls.
Meeting becomes necessary as they both
realize they are starting to have feelings
for each other. Its a working relationship
and it becomes difficult not to give into
that there friendship as it is becoming more.
Chase and Naomi's first encounter was shocking for
Naomi, but Chase being his cocky self uses it to his
advantage. (I am not going to spoil this encounter) I
will say at this point neither know each other yet.
I loved Chase in all his alpha/domineering ways.
His fierce manor to protect Naomi and keep
her out of harms way.
The story is written in both point of views and Mr. Caldwell
did an amazing job writing Chase and Naomi thoughts
and conversations. The story keeps you on your toes and
has everything that I look for in a book. Its a fast pace
descriptive, fascinating story. I loved this

Wow what a great debut by Kane Caldwell.
This was a really well written book. It had a great storyline, good characters, hot hot scenes and a story with a twist.
So you've read the synopsis and most everyone reviewing the book will give you a quick rundown. Me I just go with what I feel and let's just say that hot Chase Black, PI started off as a bit of and a**hole. He pretty much used women for what he needed and really didn't give a crap about them. He really didn't treat them well...probably more so because he wasn't much of a bullsh*tter. If he wasn't feeling it he wasn't feeling it. If he had only wanted a romp in the car in the parking lot he only romped in the car in the parking lot and sent the girl packing. You read these kind of guys and you know darn well you are going to end up loving them and of course, that is exactly what happened.
Naomi was a wife of 2 months and suddenly she is seeing very little of her husband. They aren't having sex and she assumes he is cheating so she hires Chase to investigate. What is intriguing is how Chase decides to take her case but not meet her in person (because they sort of already met under "Chase" circumstances). At any rate the whole build up of the Chase/Naomi relationship was really interesting reading as well as the twist in the husband investigation.
I am really looking forward to what this author puts out next.

Taking a chance she messages the man recommended to her hoping the truth can be found. Chase Black is supposed to be the best. Little does she know the man she watches that one night at the club ... The one night she decides to let her troubles go is the man who is to seal her suspicions and potentially end her marriage.
Chase Black is not into taking cheating husband cases. But this one has him on edge. He is pure raw poetry in motion .... Like a caged predator waiting to pounce. The woman he saw watching him sends things through his body he has never felt before. Now knowing who she is .... She will be his.
This is a first for me from this author. I kept turning the pages but I would have loved a little more in depth plot. It was an easy read and Chase is a really interesting character. This is like a cat and mouse chase which leads to the mouse in very consuming situations. I will for sure read more by Kane and I thank you for the ARC! For me though I need a little more action of the not sexy type .. I know crazy right! It's a good one .. Pick it up .......

I’m always intrigued when I read a romance by a male author…even more so when it’s erotica. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started Dark Edges, but I was immediately hooked. Kane Caldwell is definitely on his way up in the erotica world!
Chase Black is an Alpha male all the way, dominating to anyone he comes across. He’s tall, dark and as sexy as they come. He is a complete manwhore and makes no apologies for it. Random hookups in parking lots, alleys, cars…that’s his thing and he gets called a$$hole more often than not for it. He has the dirtiest mouth and I love him! I don’t know what it is about a guy that acts this way that just draws women (me) to them.
Naomi McAllister has been married all of 2 months and is already suspicious that her husband is cheating on her, so she hires Chase with Dark Edges, PI to investigate. Normally not one to take a case like hers, he reluctantly agrees and when he checks into her he is taken aback as to the effect she has on him.
Kane Caldwell has delivered a well written and extremely HAF story! The chemistry between Chase and Naomi is so hot, I swear my kindle was steaming! This is definitely the author to keep an eye out for future books!

I picked this book up after reading Olga's review - Like her I went into this without any thoughts and what a book it turned out to be.
I wont go go into the synopsis as its all there in previous reviews BUT this book was a hot a hell and delivered quite a twist.

It was refreshing to read a contemporary erotic story written by a man. Kane Caldwell is a new author(with a very vivid imagination ;) a first time read for me. I cant wait to find out what he is going to produce in book 2. I look forward to it eagerly.

Dark Edges is Kane Caldwell's debut novel. If he is able to write like this right out of the gate, I can't wait to follow his career as an author. His writing is clear, concise and very detailed.

This was my first Kane Caldwell experience, and I was totally blown away by the entire experience. This was Kane's debut release and I, of course, was late to the party. I'm just now getting the chance to read his work and I'm kicking myself in the ass for waiting so long.
From the very beginning I was hooked, Chase Black and his man-whorish ways had me from the get-go! He is definitely a man-whore and makes no apologies for it in any way, shape or form. He's not looking to hitch his wagon to any woman at all. That is until he's approached by the sweet and sexy Naomi McAllister.
Naomi has recently moved to town with her husband. Yep!....that's right, her husband. Her husband who is constantly away on business. Even since the move his personality has changed and he's just not the same man she married and moved to Denver with. Dark Edges from Kane Caldwell was a panty melting 5 star read.
Chase is quite the manwhore, having sex with women anywhere, anytime but never takes them home with him. One night in a parking lot during a tryst he makes eye contact with a beautiful woman that he can’t get his mind off of.
Fate brings these two together when Naomi sends an email to Chase wanting to hire him to investigate her husband. I should say her absent husband who seems to be living a whole separate life.
All I can say from here is “WOW” what a read. The heat between these two is off the charts. We watch Chase who is a very dominate and protective man, struggle with his feelings. All Naomi wants is to have a family, will Chase be able to give this to her? Will her husband let her go?
“You feel it, baby?” Her body trembled as she took a deep breath. “Because I do Naomi. Like nothing I ever effing felt before.”
Kane really pulls you in with his writing. You can feel the connection between Chase and Naomi, it’s so intense. The sex was off the charts hot. The secondary characters added a good element to the story. You will laugh, cry and want to strangle the (ex)husband for being such an a$$. I loved the extras that Naomi sent with Braydon’s suits, you go girl. Once you start this book you will not want to put it down until your done. I was unsure of exactly what to expect when I started this book, but by the time I got to the end, I wasn't ready for the story to be over. First, I'm glad to see more men getting involved with writing erotica that actually has a plot and storyline to it (at least a plot that is believable).
Chase Black is one big mass of hot-blooded, definitely hot-headed, dominant male who doesn't make excuses when it comes to the sexuals, and with the exception of his latest client, he doesn't do repeats with women. Sure he'll rock their worlds six ways to Sunday, but while your coming (see what I did there?) down from your orgasmic bliss, he's already dressed and rolling out. Which just means that he gets called "asshole" plenty whatever chick he just left.
Naomi McAllister didn't expect her marriage to take the turn it did, and now she wants answers. Understandable, but what she wasn't ready for was her reaction to Chase Black. There's no doubt there is some serious chemistry between them, and while Naomi knows realistically that her marriage is over, she's still hesitant to get hooked up with Chase. But he has a way about him that makes her feel safe, perhaps even cherished, even though they've known each other for about 7 minutes.
Chase finally learns the truth about Naomi's husband (although we readers get a big clue earlier in the story), but still, it's all kinds of f#cked up what happened. I'm surprised Naomi handled it as well as she did, because I'd be the one all Hulked up and tossing furniture and people all around if that happened to me.
I liked that Chase finally talked with his father, because a lifetime of that treatment should never have occurred. I do wish the subject of Chase's quick temper was brought up; I don't know if his temper was a result of the treatment by his father, or was he just always quick to anger? The good thing is that Naomi is able to calm him down with just a touch.
The sexuals between Chase and Naomi are hot. HOT I say! Make sure you have a nice big glass of ice water close by. There is a HEA for Chase and Naomi, but the ending was a little abrupt with the declaration made by Lane (one of Chase's close friends). Overall, this is a great start to this series and I can't wait to read the next book, so keep writing Mr. Caldwell, because we want to know what's going to happen next!

If I could give this book more than 5* I would! It definitely deserves it, and this is Kane Caldwell's debut novel. I love a book that grabs you from the very beginning and Dark Edges certainly did that, and that was the prologue!! I am a sucker for an alpha male and Chase Black oozed alpha male.
As an ex-marine turned PI, he runs his own agency called Private Edges and he's a man who takes what he wants and that is usually from women who are willing to give him what he wants. Until the email that changed his life and the woman who is this one alpha male's weakness.
Naomi McAllister is a sweet young woman who wants to hire Chase because of the suspicious actions of her husband, who has left her alone and growing more unhappy and suspicious of his strange behavior. Chase is not sure he wants to handle another case like hers but a chance meeting between the two of them changes everything.
Because of his womanizing I didn't want to like him but he is so damn hot, from the way he stands to the way he talks and walks. For some people, a possessive man can be a turn off but Chase turned it on in spades and he felt possessive of No (his cute nickname for Naomi) from the very beginning.
Naomi knows that she is married even if there is no emotional connection with her husband anymore and she fights her attraction to Chase, and he tries as well to deny the feelings that are growing for her.
The scenes that ensue between the two of them are panty melting and thigh clenching from the very beginning, so much so that I didn't want to put this book down but I also didn't want it to end.
There is also a twist that totally blew me away and I never saw coming even from the actions of Naomi's husband. So this is isn't your typical cheating husband gets caught scenario.
This book moves at a great pace and builds up to a terrific ending with a few side characters that round out the story nicely and hopefully will continue into the next books in the series. However, I could just read more books with Chase in them because I seriously think I fell in love with him!!
I'm definitely looking forward to more books from Kane Caldwell, he's a writer you don't want to miss!

What a great story! I wasn't sure what to expect, but this story blew me away! Chase Black is the owner of Dark Edges PI, and a very jaded, controlled, and sexy alpha douche. He loves random hookups, but when he's done, he is gone and makes no apology for it. His super controlled world is shaken up when he gets an email for a new case, that normally he wouldn't take. Naomi McAllister is a good girl, who was living what she thought was a great life. But now she has consistently absent husband whose actions are raising all kinds of red flags, so she hires Chase to find out what is going on. There's a big problem, this good girl is having all kinds of bad thoughts about the sexy alpha, and he's feeling the same. Chase decides he wants Naomi, but how long will it take him to convince her that she belongs with him?
WHAT. AN. OFF. THE. CHARTS. SCORCHER! I mean it took me a few days to come up with more words than CAUTION: EXTREME HOT FLASHES AHEAD! The character development is great, with a highly entertaining cast of secondaries. A super HOT (yes I will reiterate this point more than once), highly addictive, and well written storyline flows very smoothly. OMG Kane Caldwell's talented writing style made me fall in love with a foul mouthed, dominant alpha male that was realistic in all his douchery. Twists and turns kept my heart racing cover to cover, and I devoured this story in one sitting. Flammable chemistry EXPLODES into FIERY FLAMES of sexy scene goodness that will leave panties as a pile of ashes, and I swear my kindle felt hot to the touch after finishing the story. I'm not sure how to rate this book *SPOILER ALERT SORTA*
It was a great story and I never put it down until ide finished it. That being said, I had a couple issues. This is one of the first "romance" books I've read written by a man, and to me it was obvious. For me to LOVE a book I have to really like the characters, and I didn't like the lead characters all that much. In this story a rough man has to come to terms with finally falling in love for the first time and he struggles with it. He's used to using women. And there lies my main problem. While he's perusing this lead female character he actively pursued and sleeps with THREE other women (and that's only 29% into the story) I CANNOT like a man like that. And that's not all either. He purposefully causes her to have a car accident, lies constantly, manipulated her, insults and demeans her, spies on her and verbally berated her. So I have no love for him at this point. Then there's the lead female who enables.him to repeatedly do there things to her. She never stood up for herself. So, I CANNOT like her character either. I can see why there drawn to each other, but mostly it's pure animal magnetism. So yes, this book was steamy hot, but there's as much sex with random women as there is with the female lead, and that is NOT ROMANTIC to me. Its all physical to me. No emotional connection. And usually there's no problem with that, but I don't call it love. I really wanted to love this story because there's a little twist in the end that was pretty awesome :)

Kane Caldell's debut novel is a must read. The first page pulls you into the story and you'll find it difficult to put the book down!! I highly recommend this book.

I’m always intrigued when I read a romance by a male author…even more so when it’s erotica. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started Dark Edges, but I was immediately hooked. Kane Caldwell is definitely on his way up in the erotica world!
Chase Black is an Alpha male all the way, dominating to anyone he comes across. He’s tall, dark and as sexy as they come. He is a complete manwhore and makes no apologies for it. Random hookups in parking lots, alleys, cars…that’s his thing and he gets called a$$hole more often than not for it. He has the dirtiest mouth and I love him! I don’t know what it is about a guy that acts this way that just draws women (me) to them.
Naomi McAllister has been married all of 2 months and is already suspicious that her husband is cheating on her, so she hires Chase with Dark Edges, PI to investigate. I loved this book! If you are looking for a quick read with a fresh story that has humor, unexpected twists & turns, and a surprise ending, this is the book for you. Chase Black is an arrogant, hard drinking, alpha-male that is into only himself & satisfying his own desires. Enter goody two shoes, Naomi McAllister. Naomi has the most expensive and beautiful things a woman could want. However, Naomi's husband never seems available to her and is always traveling for work. Naomi wants to relieve her suspicion that her husband is having an affair. Enter Chase Black, as Naomi's PI. From the minute these two meet (in a very unexpected situation) it is non-stop action, laughs, and a little mystery thrown in. This is Kane Caldwell's debut novel and he does a great job of story telling. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book starts out really well and to be honest it did kind of stay that way through out the whole book.
There were a few moments that I was confused by...was I supposed to be laughing at that bit because it's purposefully funny or not? Is he meaning for that part to be sexy or normal life? There's a strange mix of erotic romance and real life that just doesn't work for me. it's not entirely believable.
This is Kane's debut novel. I think you can tell. For me, some bits are too slow. Some bits are clunky and don't flow so well.
Don't get me wrong. It's a good read, storyline is spot on and draws you in. It's got all the right ingredients for being a fantastic read but for me, there's just that little something holding it back.

I wasn't too sure what I would think of this book, but the synopsis has me wanting to read more and I am so glad that I did. As this wasn't my usually type of book but I really enjoyed it!
Chase is a man whore there is no other word I can use to side scribe him, he knows what he wants from women and he gets it.
Naomi is a newly wed who is defiantly no longer in the honeymoon period. These two should not work but oh how they do!

4* read. I really wasn't sure what to expect with this book at all but the blurb had me intrigued so i gave it a try and boy am i glad i did. Chase is a complete man-whore and owner of Dark Edges PI (love the name) and your typical alpha bad boy who i love to read about. When he gets a email for a new case which he wouldn't usually take on hes thrust into the world of good girl Naomi and the chemistry and dynamic between these is explosive straight off. Without giving to much away there is a good few twists and turns that will keep you addicted till the last page and as a debut novel this was a well wrote with characters who i could immediately connect with. I'm looking forward to more from this author.

Then, we through in the Jerk of a lifetime, Chase, the “Hero,” though I think he’s just a horny bastard who finally found a piece of ass he wants to get with on a regular basis.

I plan to follow Kane Caldwell closely and read every word that he writes! This story was well written, with characters that were intriguing and complex. A lot of authors can manage that but to also have them be a part of a scorching hot love story is a real talent! I love that the hero is a strong alpha male who knows what he wants and gets it. I love even more that the heroine gives him what he wants (because she wants it too) while continuing to be a strong, independent woman. If you can love a strong, rough, dominant, sexy, funny hero who speaks fluent profanity, Chase is your guy! This is an excellent first book from an author who (I hope) we will be seeing a lot more from!
