"My books spent 5 years on the New York Times Best Seller List. They got there through endless hours of hard work. If only Brent had been my marketer, I could have done it in 5 minutes with a simple picture. I'M SO STUPID!" - Tucker Max, 3x #1 NY Times Best Selling Author
"Like all good art, this book--and it is definitely a book--exposes a little bit about how society works." - Ryan Holiday, author of the Wall Street Journal bestseller Trust Me, I'm Confessions of a Media Manipulator

"So to prove my point, reveal what was at work in the industry, and to get a window into Amazon’s backend analytics, I needed a “book.” Having a “book” would allow me to see how sales affect ranking and show with screenshots exactly what all the scammers were offering as a service. I wasn’t going to write 50,000-word book just to prove this point, so I just thought of the quickest way to produce something. Ergo, I took a photo of my foot."
While exposing tactics used to promote and sell sub-par Kindle trash, and that make "Amazon Bestseller" a completely meaningless and misleading term, may be admirable, uploading a fake scam book to do it is not.
This isn't a book, it's a stunt (and the uploader freely admits it's a stunt in the linked article, although unfortunately *not* in the Amazon listing) in order to prove some points about Kindle publishing, marketing and claims.
Something is afoot here in this informative, insightful book.
It really opens your eyes to the world of publishing especially if you’re thinking about becoming an author. Well it’s probably not worth the 199. I bought it free through my Amazon points so tit for tat here. It was eye-opening into the industry but I thought long and hard about entering.
It's really important to me to read a lot of books each year, so this one was one of my favorites as I was able to read the whole book from cover to cover in 20 minutes! Most books take months for me to read, so this was fabulous. And what a message! I love satire, and I love Brent Underwood!
Great if you have a foot fetishism and to open your eyes about amazon best sellers. Think the next nook should be about putting your foot in your mouth. 🤣
