Forth re-read: 15.10.2020
I still really enjoy this book. It makes me smile and makes me want a man like Dex. I also love all of Dex's brothers. Though not enough to want to read their books. Faye is awesome as well and I love her comebacks. I'm most likely re-reading this again in the future.

Third re-read: 15.08.2019
It's still quite good and interesting. I recommend it to everyone who like a woman who doesn't take shit, is smart and witty, and a hot, sexy guy who protects what is his. I'm glad I re-read this one again. It's fun and I love the chosen family.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Still awesome*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

Second re-read: 15.01.2018
Anyone who hasn't read this book, seriously needs to do that. Even after reading this for the third time, I still adore it. Love it even, though it's not perfect; hench the stars. Dexter ‘Dex’ ‘Sin’ Black (28) is hot as fuck and Faye ‘Fairy’ Connor (23) is a absolutely perfect female character. She's funny, sassy, independent and strong. I love her. She still reminds me of Taryn from Feral Sins which is still a damn good complement, as she is one of the best characters in the world. Overall, I'm looking forward to re-read this one again in the future. Though I'm not sure why I still haven't read any other book in the series. Perhaps it's because it reminds me of Feral Sins that I can't make myself continue, as I hated book #2 in that series...
Dexter Black doesn’t know it yet, but one day he’s going to be mine.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (New Adult/Adult?) Contemporary Romance (M/F).
Series: - Series, Book One.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Faye ‘Fairy’ Connor.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Yes.
Will I read this again in the future? - Yes..
New Rating - 4 stars.

Re-read: 07.05.2016
I love, love, LOVE this book! The characters are the best. I love each one of the biker brothers, and Faye is bloody fantastic! Dex is so damn hot! I'm 110% sure I'll re-read it yet again in the future ;)!
“It’s like… I breathe you babe. There is no other way to explain it.”

First read review:
Omg I can't believe I waited so long to read this book?! It was fucking great! I love the whole book and the characters were just amazing. Faye's awesome comments really made my day, and I just couldn't help but to love her. She was tough, funny, lovable, caring, stubborn and adorable. She reminded me a bit about Taryn from Feral Sins, which was great considering I LOVE Taryn (nobody beats her) so finding her and Faye alike was awesome. It was awesome to see her grow and to see how she cope with being in a new place with whole new people and rules.
“Did you just poke me?” he asks, looking like he’s about to start laughing again.
“Yes, what’s it to you?” I ask belligerently.
“How would you like it if I poked you?” he asks, trying to keep a straight face.
“You already did, you asshole! That’s how I got pregnant!” I yell in his face. "

Dex, man he was sexy! He was sooo cute and adorable, yet a complete alpha male with his possessiveness and dominate side. He really showed Faye how much she means to him, and how much the biker club means to him. He would do anything for the people he love and he wants to be a good father for his child. This might seem weird, but I loved it when he lost control, it was sexy. Dex's so wild when he looses control, and I love when he's in charge/snaps orders to others, then becomes soooo cute and lovable when he's with Faye,
“Fine but I don’t care who offers you hospitality with their women, you say no. There is no what happens on the road stays on the road with us.” I let my expression tell him how serious I am about this.
“Have you been watching Sons of Anarchy again?” he asks, body shaking with laughter. Jerk.
“Maybe,” I admit, shrugging sheepishly

The only thing I wished for in this book was more action.. There was some, but I still wanted a bit more. Oh and I also wished we could see Dex in action more. The brothers in this book was FANTASTIC! I love the brotherhood they all had and their acceptance for Faye. The book had it all, pain, love, sorrow, laugher, friendship.. everything. Some may think it was a bit cliché, but for once, I didn't find the love in this book that. I found it cute and it made me want that kind of relationship that Dex and Faye had together.
“At least I know why you all call him Arrow. That thing points at its next victim!”
Arrow spins to me, his eyes wide with surprise. “I’m actually glad you’re here, this place was getting boring.”
“Arrow!” Dex growls, clearly losing his patience. “That boner better not be for my woman.”

Chantal Fernando is an great author and I hope that she writes more about Dex and Faye, because they have become one of my favorite couples. The connection and the chemistry they have was great and I love the whole thing. I recommend it to everyone who loves biker books with a funny female and a sexy, dominate male.
They say death is easy, it’s living that’s hard. I love my life, and I wouldn’t say it was hard. But I understand when they say death is easy, because those people who pass away don’t have to live with the sadness and the pain of losing someone.

I'm going to do a lot of quoting here, my friends because I want to use specific lines as evidence for my feelings. There were some things that disappointed me greatly about this story, but there was more that I truly enjoyed.

As far as an MC books goes, this was somewhat sub-par. What initially caught my eye was the blurb:

"When I found my boyfriend cheating on me, I did something stupid.
Or should I say, someone?
Because of that mistake, I’m now stuck in a world I don’t belong in.
I’m a law student. They’re criminals.
He’s the Vice President of a MC. I’m a good girl with a strict upbringing.
He’s my ex-boyfriend’s brother.
And I’m screwed."

Sounds awesome, right? And since I'm all about a worthless epic grovel and a kick ass "take that!" revenge, I thought I'd love this book. Plus, I do love a good MC book, but I literally feel nauseous having to read about complete misogynists disrespecting women and treating them as lower beings with convenient holes. You can be a badass without hitting, cheating, name calling, etc.

Even so, there's a fine line to ride there, especially when the men around you are looking at you for guidance. You can't look weak, and from my standpoint, I don't want a man who will let me push him around either.

It's called compromise, people.

So the fact that this was touted as an "MC light" book really caught my attention, seeing as how I've recently discovered the awesomeness that is Susan Fanetti's Signal Bend series. I was ALL IN for this read.

It started out okay. The writing itself feels a tiny bit choppy and just didn't feel polished. It was when I got to the first sex scene that I was greatly disappointed. To put it mildly, the sex in this book is lame. Lame and boring and over so fast, I thought I had missed a page or three. If you're gonna write a biker book, please work on your sensuality and sex. Make it rough, make it gentle, just make it something other than this:

" His eyes darken. Leaning over me, he gently pushes me back on the bed. He kisses my lips with no preamble, his tongue exploring my mouth. He knows what he's doing, just how to turn me on. I moan into his mouth as his finger slides into me. He makes a sound deep in his throat, a growling sound. I'm more than ready for him as he slides himself into me with one smooth thrust. His patience clearly over, he thrusts deeply, a curse leaving his lips. His body shows me just how much I've been missing out on, his skilled moves giving me more pleasure than I've ever experienced before. I come once, twice before he finishes himself. He kisses me on my forehead once before he pulls out."

That's the revenge f*ck. That's it.

WHAT?! And then this line, same page, that had me head scratching:
"Last night had me feeling off-kilter. Did I imagine the connection between us? Last night wasn't fucking. It was meant to be, but it didn't feel like it. I don't know what to think."

Me neither, sweetheart. I'm a bit lost at this point and ready to DNF this book.

HOWEVER, I stuck with it, and I'm so glad that I did. Once I suspended my need for whatever it was that I failed to get, I got some big surprises in the form of laugh out loud one liners from our heroine Faye and hero Dex. Over and over, I giggled and laughed, and I slowly got sucked into their world and the MC boys camaraderie with Faye. A few examples:

♦♦♦ "You got revenge on my brother, isn't that what you wanted? A taste of wild?"
(...)"And what did you get Dex?" I ask, tilting my head to the side.
He grins wolfishly. "I got to fuck a fairy."

♦♦♦ "Condoms aren't a hundred percent you know," he reminds me calmly. My mind flashes to a certain episode of Friends, and I suddenly feel like yelling out that they should put that on the outside of the box."

♦♦♦ "Now he laughs at me.
"Don't laugh! Since I apparently got pregnant on purpose to keep you, because you know, you're such a catch. At least you come with a credit card though," I joke.
I watch as his smile drops from his face. "What did you say?"
I blink. "I don't remember."

♦♦♦ "I'd rather you call me fairy than baby mama."
"Baby mama it is," he says."

♦♦♦ "Fifty Shades of Rake!"

Cracked me the hell up! If there's one thing I loved about this book, it's the humor. I also loved how Faye flat out just held her own while in the clubhouse. She was a mouthy little thing, and thank goodness that she was under Dex' protection and that she endeared herself to the other boys.

There were a few other things that kept my rating down. Some pretty noticeable editing issues, a lack of atmosphere and details of the characters and setting, minor things that bugged me. The setting was in Australia, which is really cool for a change up but the only way I knew that fact is because she mentions Melbourne, and because she says things like "holiday" and "petrol" and "vegemite". What the hell is the deal with vegemite? And check it out...it's made by Kraft!!!!! That just strikes me as funny. When will the rest of the world catch up with Australia and stock this shit?

Minus one star for those and one for the lack of decent sex, and I'm left with three stars. Would I read the next in the series? You bet! I did enjoy this book and I think if readers go into it expecting a fairly tame contemporary with some sweet bikers that occasionally act edgy and mean, then they'll really enjoy this. One more quote because I want to leave this review on a high note :D

♦♦♦ "There is no what happens on the road stays on the road with us." I let my expression tell him how serious I am about this.
"Have you been watching Sons of Anarchy again?" he asks..."

4.5 Dragon stars🐉

ezgif-com-video-to-gif

20-year-old Faye is a law student who always did the right thing... until she caught her boyfriend cheating on her. 💔
Hurt and angry, she goes out to a bar and end the night in Dex's bed... A man she has not seen for years but was in love with when she was younger. 💛

Not only is he trouble, dangerous with lots of tattoos... Dex is also the vice president of a motorcycle club. 🐉
Oh and ... he's her ex's big brother! 😱

Faye thought it was going to be a passionate one night stand - but her life flipped over again when she found out she got pregnant. And what does she do...? runs away!
But when Dex finds out, he get into "Alpha Man" mode (😂💪) and brings her into his world, to his MC lair, and that's where the plot begins... 💥🐉

📚 “𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄,” 𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗹𝘆. 𝗠𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝘀𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘅. 📚

How will the good and innocent girl get along their...? 😱 How will her future as a law student fit her new life with all those criminals? And will her relationship with Dex develop into more than a commitment because of the baby?

I love MC romance so I was expecting a dark and dangerous story. But it wasn't a typical MC. It wasn't dark - but romantic, sweet and SO funny!!! 😂

📚 "𝗜'𝗱 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗮."
"𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀," 𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀. 📚

Although the book is supposed to be "serious," it had a lot of humor... The way the MC's laughed at each other, their reactions to the innocent Fay made me laugh out loud. 😂😂😂

BUT - Something was missing. The plot felt "too soft". I wanted more action...🐉
Because although there were some violent scenes, I didn't really feel that Fey was in a state of danger and the connection between Fay and Dex was... sweet.
Maybe it's me, but in my opinion, MC and "sweet" don't exactly fit together. 😂

📚 "𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀." 𝗜 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.
"𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻?" 📚

Still, even though it wasn't a typical MC book, and I REALLY don't like "surprise baby's" story's - this book was awesome and even got me curious to read the next book in the series, about Arrow. I'm not going to tell you what his name means. just that he likes to point out his...
targets.
With his...
arrow! 😂

I have not read many Motorcycle Club books in my life so far. And I am really not that much attracted to guys with matching tattoos with guns and motorcycles who live together in the same house/area/compound/warehouse eating from the same pot scratching their naked butt, while half naked or naked women are walking around and everyone has casual sex everywhere at the same time as they drink beer nonstop and listen to heavy metal music nonstop loudly.

So, I guess I am hardly an expert.

But I know what I like. And I loved this book! Maybe because it is not so dark and broody. Most of the books that I have read about MCs are dark romances where the main characters growl and kill each other. Oh and usually someone is raped (if possible by many people).

While I was reading this book, I was actually laughing out loud.

Not because it is ridiculous, but because it was pure joy reading about a perfectly nice girl who has changed her complete life after she fell in love with the ultimate bad boy. And although the girl is really nice, she is not a naïve or a martyr. She actually has claws and she bites and scratches and she always says what crosses her mind without thinking the consequences.

On the other hand the ultimate bad boy softens a lot because of the girl, but he still does not lose his unique character.

So, this is the story of Faye who loved Dex since she was a little girl, but then she started dating his brother. Dex disappeared from their life to become the vice president of the most famous Motorcycle Club in the area. Faye discovered that her boyfriend is a cheating bastard, so for one night she becomes a bad girl and she sleeps with his brother i.e. her childhood love Dex. The result is that she becomes pregnant and her parents throw her out their home. And Dex finds out and he is ready to accept his responsibilities.

★★★★ 3.75 Stars!

Let me first start off by saying that this book was nothing like I thought it would be. When I first read the blurb I thought this was going to be a dark and intense MC story with a lot of angst. What it turned out to be though was a fun, rather light-hearted biker romance with a large amount of drama, a witty heroine and a protective alpha male hero that I really enjoyed reading. There was nothing really dark about it though.

When Faye finds her boyfriend Eric cheating on her in their own apartment, her carefully controlled life spirals out of control. Wanting to take a "walk on the wild side", she does something she might have never done otherwise. And all of it has to do with her ex's brother Dex.

"I have changed. But for you...I'll always be that same person. Does that make sense? You have no need to be scared or wary around me babe."

Faye has had a crush on Dex for years but she never thought she stood a chance with him. Now, when the opportunity presents itself and Dex makes it clear he's interested in her as well, she starts to hope that maybe there might be a future in store for them after all. Still, Dex has a few secrets of his own and his position as the vice-president of the Wind Dragons MC doesn't exactly make it easy for him to tie himself down.

"When I come to you, I need to know that I can give you everything you deserve."

Faye was a very sassy, independent heroine with a quirky side and I really liked the fact that she didn't let herself be pulled down by all the misfortune she had in her life. Dex was supposed to be this big, scary biker but he's actually really sweet and I loved how he took care of Faye and protected her when she needed him.

The only problem I had with the story was that it felt a bit rushed at times. There was a little too much going on at the same time . It was all a bit too.much.drama. BUT, overall I still really enjoyed reading this book.

Dragon's Lair was a fun, fast-paced, biker romance story with two very likeable main characters and a whole bunch of colorful and hilarious side characters. I loved all the other members of the Wind Dragons MC as well and I'm already looking forward to the next part of this series.

No cliffhanger.

SONS OF ANARCHY MADE ME DO IT.

So I totally blame all the awfulness of this book on the Sons (not really, Charlie Hunnam is always ❤️ )

Read exactly like fanfiction except not as good or as fun. Or as sexy or as anything really.

So, despite *not* being a mental illness book, there are at least five personalities inside this one MC. The inconsistency is just too staggering to dissect. Suffice it to say that her character is as believable as me conversing in German. Yeah since I don’t speak any German! But you get the picture.

I can’t take this book seriously. I just cannot.

The romance is weird at best. Everything else is just not believable at all.

*perpetually shaking my head*

I really enjoyed this biker story, it was very funny and all the characters were very likable. There was however something slightly amiss for me and I’ve been trying to come up with what it was…. my guess is that although the story was complete it lacked details, and perhaps was too fast paced, the sex scenes weren’t smoking hot but were okay and some areas that could have been elaborated on more. I’m not sure what it was BUT I really did like the story, it’s nothing earth shattering still it was very good and left me smiling.

Faye is a funny and feisty law student who is pregnant with her cheater ex boyfriend’s brother, Dex’s baby. Her parent’s throw her out and her ex tells her that his brother is bad news so she takes to the road. Dex immediately searches for Faye as soon as he hears of her situation, he opens the club up to her and all the members really will grow on a reader.

”I have changed. But for you…I’ll always be the same person. Does that make sense? You have no need to be scared or wary around me babe.”

Faye wants a future with Dex while Dex is keeping a personal situation and Faye at arm’s length till it’s resolved. Dex was a wonderful character and readers will love his protective nature and his sweet side!!

"How did I get so fucking lucky? I'm going to send a thank you letter to the condom company."

Overall, this is a complete story and I’m assuming the next book in the series will be about another biker in the club and I really have no preference on which one because they were all so likable. I would recommend this story, the author did indeed deliver on the enjoyment level.

DRAGON' S LAIR Gallery cover

"I lost everything in one night. Over one mistake."

4.75 "Sin" stars!!♡♥

After finding her long time boyfriend in bed with another woman, it's only right to get even, right?

One night. One night of passion changes everything.

Now whisked away from her clean and pristine life, dreams of becoming a lawyer seem far away.

Especially when you're involved with the VP of the Wind Dragons, the brother of your ex and your secret crush for many years.

What's a girl to do? Especially when new challenges arise, old flames present themselves, limits are tested, and trouble is brewing between rival MC's?

My thoughts: Huh, what a different twist for an MC read!! It was still a bit gritty, rough, tragic, and sexy and yet I found myself feeling light and cracking up with the female heroine, Faye. She was a totally different breed of a strong, empowered woman and actually had backbone and not in the annoying type of way.

I thought that her chemistry with Dex “Sin” was quite on even ground as both have known each other since childhood and are stubborn, passionate individuals.

On a side note though, brace yourselves for some heartbreak!! I was so sad when a certain event took place that I was contemplating grabbing a pitchfork and hunting down the author for writing such an event in the story.

I really hope Ms. Fernando does make this MC a series as I would really LOVE an Arrow book and then a Tracker x Allie book, as well as Rake and Vinnie. And oh! Can we have an Eric x Renee clarification or something? I know that Eric isn't part of the Wind Dragons MC but I'm so curious as to know what their deal is.

Gosh, I am so so excited!! I'm already hooked on these characters and am in love with the “Daye”pairing!! I hope to see more from them!!

Ticked all the right boxes for me.

I have to say that I loved this book, I knew from the blurb that something had to be seriously wrong for me not to enjoy this. I've previously read 'Maybe This Time' by this author and I enjoyed that so it wasn't a complete leap to think I'd like this as well.
Faye's catches her longtime boyfriend Eric cheating on her and after pulling herself together she goes out to have a bit of fun, and she does but the fun she finds is her childhood crush and Eric's older brother Dex. Now Faye's always been a good girl and despite the fact that she's got s*** parents she is a well rounded if stubborn and mouthy individual.
I really liked everything about this book, I liked that Faye is a strong character she knows her mind, she's not afraid to say what she's thinking and at no time does she consider going back to the cheating scum that is her ex-boyfriend. I loved Dex, who wouldn't he tries to make the best out of the situation, I loved the club, the rest of the guys like I said everything. Now this is a softer MC book than a lot out there and I must admit I usually prefer mine a bit grittier but, that said I liked this just the way it was.
If I had to pick fault with anything it would be that it maybe seemed a bit rushed in places and was maybe a little too neat but not enough for me to deduct even half a star, I've just re-read this and while I really enjoyed it again I'm changing my rating to 4* which seems fairer.

"I've had a crush on Dex for as long as I can remember, he was the local bad boy"

So long story short, Dex finds out that Faye has been kicked out of home, pregnant with his child with no where to go, being the big badass hot biker he is he takes her to his club house.

Eyes wide, I freeze and take in the scene in front of me, I step closer to Dex, almost hiding behind him. About ten men varying in age and appearance, are sitting around drinking and smoking. A couple having sex out in the open, I turn around and walk back to the car.

The only sucky thing about this book is that I finished it in one sitting and I desperately want more!! I hope this author puts us all out of our misery and gives us more of these hot Badass Biker calendar men!!

Well hot damn.. Chantal releasing a biker book?!

description

5 STARS!

I loved it!! This is the best MC book I have read in months! I was a little nervous when I started reading this coz I'm very picky and bitchy when it comes to my MC books.

Dragon Lair is or maybe not your typical biker books.. and what I mean by that is it's not gritty or earth-shattering that I used to read. Dragon Lair is a lighter side of grittiness but well written and has some twist that hit me in the right spot!

And what's better than a hot biker story? Well how about we add an ex-boyfriend brother? Genius isn't it?! Chapter One captured my attention, it kept me engaged and held my interest until the end. And that's a lot because my bar is set pretty damn high in this particular genre!

One of the things that makes a story much more enjoyable for me is when I truly like both main characters.

DEX is a hard assed, domineering hot biker, sex on a stick! He's probably your typical MC hero.. or maybe not? because even though he's alpha he didn't come off as a jerk. He's demanding but he has this ability to be sweet and tender. Now that's probably not the best words to describe a biker hero but sorry I can't help it, he'll say something sweet like finding your double chin and swollen feet sexy? ahh.. he's such adorable in a rough sexy way. :)

“I lost everything in one night. Over one mistake.”

FAYE is a likeable heroine. I'm more into doormat heroines so it was a surprised that my connection with Faye kept growing over the course of the book. I enjoyed her as the leading character, Faye has a strong personality but not too strong that she overpowered Dex.

description

Dex and Faye? I felt their connection throughout the book. I liked the whole idea of ex boyfriend brother and throw in a

As I mentioned, there was a few twist.. I knew something was off with Dex.. hahaha! I had that feels ya know? And don't get me started with the second characters.. ugh.. I don't want to retell the whole story but something happened here that almost killed me.

Overall Chantal did a great job in her first MC book! 5 STARS for me and it's not because I like this author or that my name was mentioned in the acknowledgements.. *cough!* but this truly a well written MC book that didn't feel force or awkward.

I know a lot of people tend to compare MC books to some well known MC authors and that's alright.. it's natural I guess. But I just want to put out that Chantal has her own version of MC and I liked it! I'm actually looking forward on her next book! :)

Dragon Lair is a quick paced book with interesting story line, heartache and likeable characters that would keep you on your toes. This is a must read if you're a biker hoe reader like me! :)

P.S

I am praying for ARROW's book... :(

RATING: 3-3.5 “Cute” MC Hearts! :)

Dragon’s Lair is a light MC story. It definitely doesn’t portray the gritty world we’re usually accustomed to when it comes to motorcycle clubs, nonetheless, it is a decent enough read.

This has many of the favourite elements I love in a quick read – an alpha male in Dex, sassy and funny heroine in Faye, cliche plot devices , interesting and likeable secondary characters, hot romance – and that is exactly what makes this entertaining, and perfect to pass a few hours with.

This could have easily been a solid MC read if it had more plot development, but overall it is an enjoyable, low-angst read. Looking forward to Arrow’s book next!

*Sighs* Can you believe how sexy this cover is…I could stare at it all day! Oh wells we aren’t really here for that. Sooo…

When your ex cheats on you and you’ve been having many lingering thoughts about his sexy-ass brother what do you do? Sleep with him, realise he’s a part of a motorcycle gang, find out something majorly big (not spoiling this), try to live in a house filled with his mc gang and somehow learn to live with the man in question… Damn, I think I even need a holiday after all this!

Faye is living an ordinary life and is on the road to becoming a lawyer. However, this gets put on hold once her parents kick her out and she ends up living with Dex and his gang. She’s strong, stubborn, has a mind of her own and doesn't take shit from no one.

Dex is the vice president of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Cub. He is dangerous, lethal, possessive and a hunk of sweetness. He’s in all things trying to make everything work out because he truly wants to have a future with Faye.

My thoughts: First off I loved that this came with a different premise to mc romance and the way it played out was great! I also liked that the author put in a quick scene during the prologue of both characters as children and the way their friendship was. It’s nice to see a deeper connection that goes beyond the normal meeting-as-adults-and-falling-in-love.

The written dialogue was amazing! I enjoyed the fact that the dialogue could make you laugh so hard that you would need to stop for a while and reassure your family that you are not having a mental breakdown!

This will make anyone laugh, smile, feel hot and make you sigh in awe. Not to mention constantly keeping you on your toes and in suspense bomb after bomb after bomb!

The way the author wrote the characters is amazing. The chemistry is so intense and at times felt unbelievably real. It was hot, steamy and loving in all the right places.
A gorgeous narrative couple. A loving and devoted Dex and a beautiful, strong-willed Faye.

These big, bad bikers—if only other people could see the side of them that I get to see on a daily basis.
Pussycats, the lot of them.

The additional characters that surrounded Faye and Dex where beautiful. So damn beautiful. They were written in a way that had you laughing and crying for them at times. I loved every single damn one of them. EVERY SINGLE DAMN ONE. You cannot, CANNOT go through this novel without falling in love with all the Wind Dragon members. My heart even broke while Arrow’s did. I felt so sad and honestly wanted to bawl my eyes out for him. Only a real author can make you feel this way and I damn sure did.

My favourite, favourite scene in this novel was the ‘intervention’.
description
Where does the author come up with this stuff! This scene had me laughing my bloody ass off to the point where I actually had tears in my eyes. It’s such an innocent and unexpected scene you can’t help but have a reaction.

This is only 4 stars because honestly at times the writing seemed a bit… off, this is also including the beginning sex scenes. However, besides these it was a worthwhile read.

Any novel that makes reference to this hunk of supernatural man meat…
description
Has my definite praise.

A perfect ending to the first novel and the perfect beginning to the series. Looking forward to reading the rest of the gangs stories.

Hmmmmmmm....I'm gonna go with 3-3.5 Stars on this one...

I really liked it. Decent plot, decent characters...just DECENT.

It had a lot of my favorite elements: alpha male, motorcycle club, and the cliche ...but I felt like it could have gone a little deeper.

According to GR it has 213 pages (I think) and according to amazon it has 258 pages...and I'm too lazy to actually find out what the true page number count is; but regardless, I read it in one sitting in a little over an hour.

So obviously, I feel like it could have just been MORE. More story, more action, more everything.

Overall though, if you are looking for a shorter, low-angst read that is super decent, this is an entertaining way to fill an hour or two and I feel like this author has more in store for us.

Did an reread as I'm planning on trying to continue on with the series but I wasn't a Huge fan of this now either. The main characters annoyed me a bit which isn't good in a romance but I will try the next one in the series
--

I've read Chantal Fernando's Conflict of interest series and loved it so I was eager to read something else by her. MC romances is normally not something I grab after and sadly I didn't enjoy this books that much either. It's not bad written but the MC plot just don't intressed me, but it was an okay book.

Faye ends up pregnant from Dex, her ex boyfriend's older brother and a MC member and even though she tries to leave everyone behind and start a life away just her and her unborn child, they are determined to keep her there and find a solution together.

I am so glad that my bestie recommended this book to me and I listened to her!! This was such an enjoyable read and I loved it! I have so many favorite scenes that I'm thinking now and still laughing.

This may be a MC story, but it's unlike any other MC book I've ever read. It was light, funny, sweet and I just loved everything about it. The heroine was one of the best heroines I've ever read, sassy with witty dialogues, an attitude that I totally enjoyed giving no f*cks against the MC members, the hero had also some funny quotes, was tough but also sweet and I fell in love with him!

I also think that the secondary characters were awesome and I can't wait to read their stories! And it may be light, but it had a few intense moments and I felt sad about one of them, but other than that this book had me laughing out loud and I definitely recommend this one!

I read this book almost a year ago and i had a great time, but still, there were some details that didn't quite work for me, that is not the case anymore. The new edition covers everything and dissolves any remaining problems, the editing changes were wonderful and i believe that the story flows so much easier now. I 'm so happy i read this book again and promptly i have to change my rating, and opt to raise it a full star to 4,5 out of five.

My old review follows:

3,5 Stars!
The best book of Chantal Fernando at the moment. How great it is to see an author's writing evolving book by book.. I had an amazing time reading this one and i will definitely read the next in the series..

So we have Faye and Dex! Faye, what an amazing herorine.. I loved her right away, she is sassy, intelligent, bold and doesn't take crap from anyone, although she is still sweet and caring..

Dex is great too, protective, funny and he loves Faye so much.. He also has an amazing sexual appetite and a body like this -see bellow- so you know everything is forgiven..

But the best trait in this book are the secondary characters.
Mary, Tracker, Arrow-of course- Rake, Vinnie, Jim.. I liked them all so much.. And i'm so happy some of them are getting their own book..

About the story, Faye catches her boyfriend Eric with a common friend in a compromising position.. So she decides that she will not live her life with him anymore, no matter what her lifeplans were.. After a few days she stumbles upon Eric's brother, Dexter.. and the fun begins..

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- I hated her mother..
- Eric, awful brother and boyfriend..
- At first i was a little freaked out about Faye living in the club but that changed after a while..
- Mary was so sweet and loving.. What happened was devastating..
- Arrow.. God i hope he finds the right person..
- Tracker and Rake are so funny..
- I even liked Allie..
- Sirius Black! That would have been perfect..
- I would like to know more about their past as kids..
- Some characters from Maybe series are doing a cameo..
- It was an easy, highly entertaining book..:D

I had SO MUCH fun with this one. I tend to stay away from MC romances because the dark, gritty lifestyle of bikers just doesn't really do it for me for some reason (which is odd 'cause I love mafia romances...). But Dragon's Lair is not your typical MC romance. It's more light-hearted and, dare I say it, funny!

I loved the heroine, Faye. She's so badass. She knows what she's worth and never stops to look back at her piece of shit ex. She's also really sassy and so damn likeable. I really appreciated that she was constantly weighing up the pros and cons of her situation and thinking of her baby (because I've seen some dumb pregnant heroine's try to do some stupid shit).

The hero, Dex, isn't your run-of-the-mill hero. Yeah, he's got the whole possessive-alpha thing going on, but when he was with Faye, he was sooooo adorable. He made some pretty bad decisions throughout the book that made me apprehensive about even rooting for him (hey, I said he was hot, not that he was smart... hehe) but ultimately, he was just too irresistible when he decided to go all-in on his relationship with Faye.

I really liked the secondary characters. It was really exciting getting to know everyone's quirks (although, it felt a bit too obvious at times that the author was trying to set up for a series). I laughed a lot reading this book. I loved the banter Faye had with the other members of the club. It was just a really fun read.

I really wanted to finish this book in one sitting but alas, it was way past midnight and I'm a teacher that can't afford to go to school with uncharged batteries. So I snuck in some reading time during my lunchbreak and in between classes. That's how addicted I was to this book! This is my first Chantal Fernando book, and it definitely won't be my last.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Don't go in expecting a dark romance... you won't get one. At heart, it's really a friends-to-lovers romance set in a diluted MC setting. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

OH MY..... that was such a sweet story.

I know, I know...it's a biker book and these kinds of books are supposed to be RAW, GRITTY AND DARK. Well, this book isn't anything like that. It's romantic, sometimes even a bit cheesy and predictable. But I still loved it nonetheless!

Mostly because of DEX

***sigh***

I also really liked FAYE

She's one of those heroines you want to be friends with :)

DRAGON'S LAIR is definitely not a Madeline Sheehan kind of MC story.
Still, it's definitely worth reading! Looking forward to the next book in this series.

I really did like this, but in all honesty it read a bit like "Carry on Biker"

However, it was enjoyable and as long as you do not take it so seriously then it is a fun read.

Faye was funny, sarcastic and had a tendency to speak before she thought. I did like her, but at times it felt like that was all she was, all there was too her.

Would have liked more from Dex and more from the actual MC side of things.

However, it had a great cast of secondary characters, who you just hope get their own books - like Arrow for one.

Overall, it was a good read, however, it never got too in depth with anything. A fair few months pass in the book, and a lot happens, but it never got too detailed. It felt almost at times, like reading a list of things that should happen in an MC book.

I found myself wanting more, more about her relationship with her parents, and some closure on that, more from their past history as kids (she is twenty) and though it is mentioned she had a crush on him, he was always too old for her, it never says how old she is, wanted more closure with her ex.

But, overall, it is a non taxing, light enjoyable read that can pass a couple of hours, and leave you wanting to read more of the brothers of the MC.

Dragons Lair had me hooked from the offset and loving every minute of it! I have to admit, I LOVE MC books.. I have read tonnes and do tend to pick at things in these kind of books, but I bloody loved this one! It wasn't your typical dark and edgy MC books that we tend to get. Instead it is a somewhat lighter read that packs twits and turns throughout to keep your attention fixed to the end.

This story is about Dex and Faye. Dex is not your typical jerk male in a book, he is still very controlling and dominating, but still holds that little adorable touch that softens his bad boy biker image just a tad for us. While Faye, she is on the run. Very much has her own mind and definitely not going down without a fight. Her ex is Dex's brother.. which could make things awkward when you then throw another spanner in the works. Throughout the book you have that inkling that something is not right, and when you find out, its a shocker! Will they sort out their differences and make it? You'll have to read to find out!

If you love biker stories - like me! Then you will definitely want to get this story. It is fast paced, has shocking plot twists and really relatable characters that you love immediately. Hoping for the next installment for this series.. Arrow, hint hint ;)

Struggled with the rating on this one but I'm going to stick with a 4. This for me was what I call a "surface" read. Pretty enjoyable but just skimmed the surface of the characters. It lacked depth.

I liked both characters and I usually hate MC reads but this one the guy wasn't a a whorish asshole so I was good with that!

4 Hilarious MC lite stars

I think people should treat this as some sort of comedy read instead of a biker read. Don't expect raw, gritty, violence and alpha asshole. What we have here is a funny, humorous, a sassy pregnant heroine and a sweet hero. Plot wise is 3 stars, no big drama or intense climax, but the funny lines really do make up for it.

The story started with Faye, a law student, faced with an unplanned pregnancy after an one night stand with Dex, her long-time-no-see friend who is the VP of Wind Dragon MC. Dex aka Sin also happened to be her cheating ex-boyfriend's brother, but I don't felt the weird tension of breaking the bro code because they were not exactly chummy.

By the moment Faye knew that her life is going upside down due to the baby, I admire her tenacity. She wants to keep the baby, even though she never expect Dex to be responsible. But of course, after Dex found out about it, he was all in and insist of taking care of her in a 'friendly' way. I like him instantly then. He can't be much of an asshole if he wants to do the right thing.

Faye first impression of the MC and the clubhouse was not good. She kind of freaked out and I was thinking not another civilian chick who can't accept the MC life again. But she surprised me by how easily she settled into their life and taking everything in stride. She even strike up great friendships with the brothers and the women. I know is not realistic for her to be so accepting, but it felt nice to read how happy she is settling down instead of being paranoid and giving shit to Dex.

"VP is impressive by the way."
"Glad you approve."

Dex aka Sin might just be the nicest biker hero I've read about. After his initially rage and watching him Hulk smash stuff when he was pissed, he was actually a really sweet guy. But with his VP status, I actually don't felt the leader vibe in him. Maybe this is because the whole book is from Faye's POV and we never got to see Dex other side when he is working with his brothers. We only got to see him being sweet and protective to Faye.

"I haven't fucked in a while, so don't remind me."
"I think your a while and my a while are a little different."

The romance was neither insta or long drawn. Initially they were together due to the baby and not sure how to proceed to a real relationship, but they just naturally ease into it when Faye started to accept Dex for who he is. They had a lot of funny banter and seriously hilarious. I thought the sex scenes could have been better, though. It was a bit too tame for my taste and for a hot biker.

"Did you just poke me?"
"Yes, what's it to you?"
"How would you like it if I poke you?"
"You already did, you asshole! That's how I got pregnant!"

"I don't care who offers you hospitality with their women, you say no. There is no what happens on the road stays on the road with us."
"Have you been watching Sons of Anarchy again?"

There were some violence with the MC going on in the background, but Faye is not really in the midst of it. So we don't get to experience the intensity of the climax from Dex's POV when the shit went down. Nevertheless, Faye kept us engage with her side of the story and this ended up a HEA with the arrival of their princess. Overall, a short and fun MC read for me. I enjoyed the humor very much and looking forward to the next one.

I gave up sleep to finish this book...the 5 stars are totally worth it :)

I like the books that have a bad ass female character and in this book I specially loved the fact that Faye was strong, funny, sarcastic and (when needed) soft and feminine.

Dex (a.k.a. Sin) is very HOT HOT HOT and the VP of Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club. He knows what he wants and that is Faye and

And I just loved his baby mama jokes :P

description

As a big fan of MC books I've read a lot of biker books and I can honestly say that this was one of the best. I loved Faye and Dex's relationship, their ability to banter and how they are so independent but still need each other.

I'm dying to get my hands on the next book in this series and see what all the fuss is about Arrow's arrow :P

Why all of my reading experiences are boring lately.

Not bad but nothing amazing about it, it was very predictable and cliché but if you’re looking for a book where you don’t need to think to much, this one is for you.

• MC romance
• Surprise pregnancy
• Revenge from ex plot
• Cheating

Review in Portuguese and English.

¡Me encantó!

This is my second book by Chantal Fernando, I will admit, I kind of put her books on the back burner because the last one had cheating and it freaked me out. However, I was drawn to the cover and summary of Dragon’s Lair.

I’m glad I picked this sucker up, because I was attached to the pages and didn’t want to let go until I was done.

Faye

Faye walks into her boyfriend cheating on her. She’s pissed and she’s single. Faye’s, ex-boyfriend has a brother Faye has always had a crushed on, but has never really done anything about it…. until now.

Dex

Dex is part of a motorcycle club. He’s a lot older than Faye and although he’s known Faye growing up, because of their age difference, they never really hung out. Now, Faye is twenty and beautiful and he wants her.

Review

Both partake in a night of bliss and never see each other again. Until months later, Dex is back into her life and she has no choice but to follow him into his crazy club.

I really liked how light and sweet this one is. As sexy and dramatic the cover is there weren’t really any cringe worthy moments. I really like Dex and Faye’s relationship. There’s plenty of cute banter and you know I’m all about the alpha males.

Chantal knows how to write a book with a leading alpha male. You will want Dex to be your man and your protector when you are done reading.

I did wish the book was longer and I wish there was a bit more character lead-up and development. As much as I am not a fan of angst, I felt the read was a tad short. I think I was enjoying it so much I just wanted more. The lightness of the book could be a hinder, since most MC books are a bit darker and has more angst, but I was really fine with the flow. Yes, there are fights, people get killed, but it doesn’t leave you devastated.

Overall Dragon’s Lair was a refreshing MC book and I will gladly keep up with the series.
