***This story was first introduced as Thin Ice, published in the multi-author series Sleeper SEALs. It has been re-written with almost 20,000 words added, re-edited, and changed to create the beginning of the new Lighthouse Security Investigation – Montana. Many new characters were added, and the mission expanded.***
Former Navy SEAL Logan Bishop was bored. He spent his post-SEAL days flying tourists on helicopter rides over the mountains of Montana and occasionally rescued skiers from snowy slopes when an injury resulted in early retirement.
But some old friends had an offer too good to refuse. Start and run a new Lighthouse Security Investigation branch.
With the threat of terrorists developing means of biological warfare, he jumped at the chance to run a mission in Alaska.
Vivian Sanders was looking for something new. A biologist with the Department of Homeland Security, she was tasked with finding out what the terrorists were creating. Assigned to work with an agent on a cell in Alaska, she was stunned to find she was being paired with a security specialist, and he knew nothing about their cover—living next door to the terrorists and pretending to be married.
Precise in his planning and executions of missions, the impulsive Viv drove Logan to distraction and of all his missions, he was certain this one would fail. Learning to work together, Logan and Viv discover opposites do attract. But the secret Logan carries—how he is to finish the mission—is one he is afraid she won’t be able to accept.
When the chemicals created by the terrorists next door threatened to be tested on a small town in Alaska, they fight to survive…both hoping their love survives the battle as well.

As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with. I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
What a way to form a new series. Logan was a Navy Seal who is no longer active duty but still serves his country in doing search and rescue as well as odd jobs for DHS. His approach by Mace and Jack as to the need for LSI Montana was exceptional. The description of the light towers used as beacons for pilots over the mountains were similar to lighthouses used for boats along the coastlines was realistic and believable. The team comes together through recruitment, interviews and recommendations. The team’s first assignment is a terrorist cell in Alaska possibly making biological weapons. Logan takes the job and goes with his team as support. Vivian is the microbiologist assigned to assist him. Logan and Vivian are at odds till they are not. There is danger, intrigue and suspense. As Vivian described thin ice as being alone on a pond of ice and not knowing how thick the ice was and that there was safety in having a partner to never be alone in case danger strikes. Will they get their happy ever after in life or are they on thin ice? Great interaction with the new team as well as LSI and Saints. Looking forward to seeing more from LSI Montana! Another outstanding book Maryann Jordan! 5+ stars.
Logan & Vivian's story is a fun read. I love getting to see another LSI being built! Getting the inside scoop on Logan, meeting all the new Keepers, and getting to visit with some past characters!
Our couple have a rough start, bc they're each going into the mission missing bits of information. Logan doesn't react well, but manages to mostly get his head outta his butt. 😄
He & Vivian form a partnership & as their feelings grow, so does their desire to protect each other...
This story is steamy, sweet, adventurous, and fun. I love how Vivian uses her scientific knowledge to help the mission. She's bubbly - after she's had her coffee! The way Logan reacts to her in the mornings is super cute. I loved them a lot!
This one had a slow beginning because it seemed like the author was introducing everyone who might possibly appear in this new spin-off series from Ms. Jordan's Lighthouse Security books. But once I got about a third of the way in, the action really started popping off the page. Now I'm anxious to see the other members of the new security team get their adventures and happily-ever-afters. This was Logan's (the new boss) story. A solid romantic adventure with a happily-ever-after.
Oh my word... Maryann! What an absolutely fantastic start to the new series LSI Montana. I adored Logan and Vivian's thrilling, heartwarming story. It was great to be introduced to the new team, and I can't wait to read each new story .... I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, and I'm willingly leaving an honest review.
Amazing book. Logan is the new team leader of the new Lighthouse Security Group in Montana. He takes an assignment in Alaska. He works with a Biologist named Vivian and they fall for each other. As usual the suspense is great and keeps you on your toes. Love, love this book! Highly recommend this book!
This is a wonderful beginning to a series in Montana. I am already liking the LSIMT characters that have been introduced and Logan and “zombie Viv” are a great pairing. Maryann does not disappoint with this adventure.
Gotta love Logan Bishop ‘Preacher’, his cameo showing up throughout the past books and him finally having his own story was worth the wait. What a startup we get with the Montana office. Absolutely fantastic and Logan and Vivians Story is excellent. The set up, storyline, the characters and location was amazing. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next LSIMT book!
Maryann writes such heartfelt romance with action and intrigue in every page turn. Logan and Viv's story will take you from the wilderness of Alaska to the mountains of Montana. Get to know and love a new set of Keepers. You can't go wrong with any of her series! Binge one today!
Logan and Viv’s story is a phenomenal beginning to this new Lighthouse series. When Logan decides to become a Keeper, his first assignment places him with Viv. Let the sparks fly as these two deal with a biological terrorist cell and their feelings for each other. It’s a wonderful page turning read how this all works out. Can’t wait for the rest of the crew to find their HEA!
This is book one in The Lighthouse Security Investigations Montana series and it is Logan and Vivian’s story and omg what a great start to a new series and definitely a must read. Logan was a navy seal but after being injured he retired and then flew helicopters and taking tourists on rides over the mountains but it never really held his interest so when he was asked by his friends to start and run a new lighthouse security branch in Montana he couldn’t say no because it was just what he needed along with the challenges it would bring so that he could move forward with his life and do something productive. Vivian is a biologist with homeland security and when she had a new assignment in Alaska to find out what a terrorist group were creating she just couldn’t turn down the chance to do something different in her life. Vivian was really surprised when she was told that she would have a security specialist with her and they would have to pretend that they were married but she knew that she needed to concentrate on the job at hand and not get distracted because this assignment was really important to national security. Logan is the type of man that planned his missions precisely and didn’t need or want any distractions of any kind because he needed to complete this mission while keeping them both safe but it was becoming harder every day to keep his attraction to Vivian under wraps and stop them from exploding because it could mean the cost of life or death if they fail and also put other peoples lives at risk. Wow this book certainly takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions with all the twists and turns along with action, drama, suspense, danger, great characters and strong chemistry which will pull you into this story and you will be unable to put it down because it will keep your attention throughout while turning the pages to see what will happen next and also what the outcome will be for Logan and Vivian in the end. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.
Maryann Jordan has certainly started this side series off with a bang. I love all Lighthouse Security Investigations books, each one is different and brings a little something different and special each time and Logan and Vivian’s story is no different.
I enjoyed meeting all the new characters and really look forward to reading their own individual stories. Of course catching up with Mace and Jack was fantastic, catching up with old friends is always a heartfelt yes in my book.
Logan is an honourable man with a moral compass pointing true north. I loved his ability to see his wrongdoings and adapt, going from being a loner to having a new branch of LSI was a major change for him and I can already tell I’m going to love the brotherhood he’s brought together.
Watching him struggle with his feelings for Viv made my heart ache for him, but what I loved was his up front and honest words. He was always honest and refreshingly open with her and I thought that was so heartwarming.
Viv was a woman who excelled in her field and although she was aware of the evil out in the world, she’d never witnessed it up close and personal before and you can clearly see how it threw her. I thought she was so brave as she encountered situations she’d never known of before, but she handled them bravely and with an awe inspiring strength.
Watching her fall for the strong determined man before her was so heartwarming it made my heart skip a beat. The path Logan and above travelled to their HEA was full of emotion and passion and a depth I heartfelt it sunk down into.
Another beautiful and spellbinding read. Utter perfection. 20 million star review.
When I usually read the first book in a new series I prepare myself for the “getting to know you” portion. Multiple chapters that can seem asked as the author introduces all the characters and builds the new world. Well, Ms Maryann just blew that out of the water!!!
Readers of LSI west and east will recognize Logan. He was introduced in other stories. Now we get to learn his backstory. He is asked to partner with LSI and start a branch in Montana. Lighthouses in Montana? Not gonna spoil that one. But it’s freaking cool! As the leader of LSIMT Logan takes the first major out of town assignment and ends up in Alaska.
Vic is the native Alaskan Inuit biologist who works for the Dept of Homeland Security. She is tasked with playing Logan’s wife to help dismantle a terrorist cell working on a biological weapon. Her job is to ID what they are working on, how to destroy and then to destroy it.
Logan was unaware he would be working with a female biologist, or that their cover was as a newly married couple. Watching them learn to work together, and then learn about each other was a wonderful journey. Their road to their HEA was full of hard work, terrorists, death and a stubborn man who tried to do the right thing by letting the love of his life slip away. You know, the usual lol.
In bringing this 3rd group to life, Maryann has created a top notch cast of characters that I am anxious to learn more about as the stories unfold. 13/10 recommend!
This new series starts with a bang , grabs you from the first page and takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and dangerous terrorists. We are introduced to Logan Bishop/Preacher, a former Navy SEAL who lost the job he loved after a mission gone wrong. A job and “brothers in arms” he still misses. Nowadays, he lives a quiet life in Montana taking tourists on helicopter rides and at times rescuing hikers. All that changes when he’s offered a great opportunity. Be in charge of the new Montana Lighthouse Security Investigation. A chance to bring other elite soldiers like him, together doing what they love and are meant to do. His first assignment is with a former client from Homeland Security. Eliminate a terrorist cell in Alaska. Whom he never expected to have as his partner was Vivian Sanders. Though she’s a biologist working for Homeland Security, she’s not equipped to face terrorists. What happens when feelings develop? Will they each go their separate ways at the end of the mission? What about the terrorist? Can these two stop the danger or will time and the enemy overpower them? The engaging plot from beginning to end, and characters that are strong and likable, makes this the perfect introduction to the series. The readers get a chance to meet the other members of this new branch whom are sure to get their stories soon. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I am absolutely delighted that Lighthouse Security Investigation has grown again and we now have the Montana branch with the light towers leading flyers home their own version of the lighthouse. The first part of the story laid the foundation of how LSI Montana gets of the ground and it was fun to meet the new keepers and gauge some of their personality. Logan has appeared in stories previously, he is a former Navy Seal, sidelined through injury but still doing the odd search and rescue and jobs for DHS. To be honest Logan is not one of my favourites, is he too serious, does he overthink everything, I'm not sure. He and microbiologist Vivian got off to a tricky start and I felt he simply undermined her as a person but they did definitely grow on each other, loved the morning interactions and Logan's understanding of her need for coffee to simply function. I enjoyed the story and the piecing together of what the terrorists were planning, Vivian plays a vital role but Logan can't quite seem to give her credit and because of his feelings for her views her as a distraction. When everything comes to a head Logan doesn't believe Vivian will want him in her life and that he doesn't deserve her so pushes her away. You will have to keep reading to find out if these two finally work out that they were actually meant to be. Can't wait for more Montana adventures!
While this is the first book in the new Montana branch of LSi it is actually a updated version of Thin Ice which was part of the Sleeper Seals series.
Logan "Preacher" Bishop lost his Seal career when he was injured rescuing a brother he never regretted his decision but he has found it hard to build a new life He has retreated to the wilderness of Montana flying tourists in his helicopter and helping with local rescues He keeps his hand in by doing mission for a clandestine government department. Now he has found a new life building a team for LSi situated her in Montana but he gets one last call from the man he worked for terrorists are building a biological weapon and they need his help This ill be LSI Montana's first mission but as the final outcome is to be termination for the terrorists Logan will take the case What he didn't expect was that the biologists he would be working with Viv Sanders would be a woman or that he would have to pretend to be newly married to her nor that he would have an instant attraction. Things soon run of the rails and he will do whatever he needs to keep her safe but can she forgive his secrets and can they have a future You will have to read to see. I read this as Thin Ice and there is enough differences in the story that I didn't feel i knew what was going to happen.
Logan is the first book in the new series under the umbrella of the Lighthouse Security Investigations books. This series is located in Montana. Logan Bishop was a SEAL whose career came to an end due to a knee injury. He wanted to get as far away from water and people as possible so he settled in Montana. He did solo undercover missions. He was then approached by the leaders of the other two LSI teams to have him start a team in Montana. He agreed. The book takes you through the start up process of building the team and the compound whereby you participate in the recruitment process of his team members over several years. Logan took their first assignment himself for several reasons. Vivian Sanders is the biologist he is assigned to work with as she knows about bioterrorism. Their cover was as a newly married couple. Their pretending morphed into more . They each had to learn to let the other do their part of the assignment which was hard to do. Logan had to make many hard decisions in order to protect Vivian but in the end one decision may have cost her life. Logan also had to learn how to work with a team again. This first book is a phenomenal start to what will be another awesome LSI series.
An amazing new series starting with Logan and his team of LSI keepers in Montana. It has taken a couple of years to build his branch with recruits, equipment, and lodging after Mace from LSI and Jack from Saints protection, present an offer to him that he can’t refuse. Now with his team in place, an assignment comes in from a contact at Homeland and Logan sets off to Alaska to stop a terroist threat. He is supposed to meet his contact there, a scientist who can help him identify the biological threats but little does he know the ruse that was set up so both can be next door to keep track of the terroists. Vivian doesn’t know what to make of Logan, he’s rough around the edges, barely speaks and does not want her there. As they work through their issues, their ruse becomes easier to portray…a newly married couple. With the threat next door and time running out, Logan and Vivian can’t afford any distractions. A great start to a new series with suspense, steam, and great characters. I loved how the story started right from the beginning, starting with Logan and learning who he is. Vivian challenged Logan making her the perfect match for him and I loved what she does in the end. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
When Jack Bryant from Saints Protection Investigation and Mace Hanover from Lighthouse Security Investigations come calling with a propostion for Logan "Preacher" Bishop, they're a pair it's hard to say no to. Thus, Maryann Jordan begins a new series spinoff, LSI-Montana (LSI-MT.) I have to say that I am thrilled. Meet all the new Keepers and get just a taste of their back stories.
Logan and Vivian Sanders are partners on a mission involving a terrorist cell and a bio weapon. They have a bit of a rocky start as he didn't expect the DHS biologist to be a woman. A beautuful woman, no less. He grumps and grumbles but ends up relenting and partnering with her. The draw between them is palpable. She's a bit impetuous but determined to help. He's over protective but has to admit that she gets him what he needs. He never thought he was the relationship type. She's not a "fling" type of girl. The more time they're together the closer they become. Long days turn into spicy nights. Getting the goods and taking down the cell is paramount but keeping her safe trumps that. They do get an HEA but not before they endangered and separated.
The books starts with Logan approached by LSI to start up a new branch of LSIMT. Logan, a former SEAL, accepts and begins to bring on a team and set up their compound. I love all the new characters that have joined him. His first big job from Homeland Security revolves around a terrorist cell in Alaska. He's told he'll have to work with biologist Vivian Sanders. He's not used to working with civilians who do not know the danger that comes with this assignment. I love how Logan grows from a grump to one that has feelings for Vivian. He is seeing that adaptability to things beyond his control is key in this mission, with him learning to share with Vivian. Vivian also begins to see the world a little differently as she sees in person what these terrorist are capable of doing. I love how she dug deep into her core for her strength to come out. Can they find out what the terrorist cell is plotting to do? Can Logan keep Vivian safe? What a great start to LSIMT! I'm excited for this new series. I'm fascinated learning how the Lighthouse theme made it to landlocked Montana! I highly recommend this book!
This is the first book in the New Lighthouse Security- Montana series. This book is full of suspense, terrorists, biological weapons, teamwork, and brotherhood. As always in a book by this author the storyline is top notch and easy to fall into. The character development is well written and makes you fall in love with the story. Secondary characters make this story and include current Lighthouse security personnel east coast and west cost branches intermingled with the new Montana crew. I totally enjoyed how the author explained the Keeper theme in land locked Montana and how the towers helped pilots to stay safe and land without injury. Logan and Vivian while very different on the surface are perfect for each other. Neither of these characters had much experience with relationships and had to find their way together. The chemistry is intense and keeps them coming back for more. This author has such a way with thoughts and story that you will read this book in pne sitting. Totally enjoyed getting to know these characters and looking forward to the next book in the series
LOGAN is the first in Maryann Jordan's Lighthouse Security Investigations Montana series, which spins off her very excellent Lighthouse Security Investigations romantic suspense. Logan Bishop is a former SEAL finding his footing in Montana after leaving the military. Some friends and former fellow operatives reach out to him to consider opening a branch of civilian Keepers there, and after thinking it over, he decides to give it his best. His fledgling group's first mission sees him in Alaska, partnered with civilian scientist Vivian Saunders, pretending to be newlyweds while scoping out a potential threat in the rental next door...
Maryann Jordan doesn't miss with this exciting read. Loved seeing Logan get to know his new team, and seeing him recognize the strengths Vivian brought to the table. Thrilling too to see her find her confidence in an unfamiliar and challenging situation. A terrific start to this new series.
The story for Logan was originally called Thin Ice, in the multiauthor Sleeper SEALs series, and has been reworked and filled out considerably.
Logan Bishop AKA “Preacher” starts LSIMT at the urging of Jack, head of Saints Protection Investigations and Mace of LSI. We have met all three men in previous series of Ms. Jordan’s. LSIMT is the perfect solution to fulfill Logan’s need to serve and work with a team. The first major assignment Logan takes is for DHS. Not thrilled with what it entails he feels it is important to take this assignment on personally as the head of LSIMT. Once in Alaska for the assignment the biologist, Vivian and Logan realize they have been kept in the dark on a few details by DHS. Now the two join forces to take down terrorists threatening bioterrorism. Vivian must find out what they are making while Logan’s job is the covert op and extinction. As they spend time together in close quarters respect and sparks begin to fly. Logan and Viv do not just work well together on the mission, but romantically as well. A fast-paced book containing intrigue, romance, mystery with a nice dose of sexiness in the beauty of Alaska. Love the first book in the new LSIMT series. Thanks Maryann!
I absolutely love the start of new series. Meeting new characters, having an opportunity to get your own imagination working. Imagining the stories you will read soon as to how they came to Montana, what will they be like as the hero. Lighthouse series has always been one of my favorites, so seeing it continue in another location makes me happy. Logan and Vivian's story basically got a glow up from a novella written years ago. I enjoyed the much expanded and further developed version. They fit each other well even if it didn't seem that way to start the story. I love all the detail in every Maryann Jordon book. She paints such a vivid picture from the landscape to the details of what Vivian and Ligan were doing. Logan will be a great leader of the Lighthouse Montana group. He is intense but protective and definitely has soft spot for Viv. They were so good togther and I enjoyed reading this new updated version. I am definitely ready to read more about the rest of the Montana Keepers! Enjoy!
What an introduction to LSIMT. Our introduction to LSIMT starts 3 years ago with the introduction of Logan when he gets a visit from Jack Bryant and Mace Hanover. They’ve come with a proposition and as a result we see the start of LSIMT. Once his team has been formed they get notified of a mission that leaves Logan trying to decide whether he should take it. After discussion it’s a go however the person who is working with turns out to be a woman who has knowledge of biological compounds. There mission is to discover what some folks are doing up in Alaska. Maryann has written a story that gives us some real ups and downs and some scary situations. Our heroine, Vivian, is the biologist and a definite surprise to Logan. They head off to Alaska to start working then mission and lots of ups and downs happen there. Enjoy our new LSI site being an old decommissioned Air Radar Tower that used to guide airplanes just as the Lighthouses of old guided ships.
This is the first story in the latest series from Maryann Jordans Lighthouse Security world.
This time we are in Montana and visiting Logan who had cameos on a couple of Maryanns earlier books, most notable of these was Thin Ice. Which has now been reworked for this book. What an inspired move that was! This time we have a good explanation of how Logan was headhunted to head up this latest LSI group. And the beginning of the team was measured and believably grown. But while I really enjoyed the start things got going this book had me hooked. Logan and Vivian had a shaky start all due to being very different. But they feel me their way into a strong team. And with the help of the other keepers from LSI Montana they take in a terrorist cell determined to cause havoc and disaster.
Along the way feelings and connection greeted between them.
There was misunderstanding, drama, danger and romance and a satisfying resolution. I loved it
Logan is book 1 in the Lighthouse Security Investigations Montana series by Maryann Jordan, adding another LSI team. Formerly written as Thin Ice but have been totally revamped to begin this new series.
After an injury caused early retirement from the Navy SEALs, he moved to Montana to fly tourist ps and help with search and rescue in the Montana mountains. When some old friends make him and offer to start this new division, he knows this is what he needs…his first job is to head to Alaska and work with Vivian Sanders, DHS biologist to find our what a terrorist cell is working on…
Edge of your seat, suspense, twists, turns, intrigue and so much more. What an awesome start to this series and can’t wait to see the new LSIMT men and women find their HEA in future books!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Logan is supposed to work with a biologist from the government when he goes to Alaska to figure out what kind of biological warfare the terrorists are making. Logan's mistake was assuming the biologist was a man. Vivian has never been on an assignment like this and doesn't comprehend the fact that these terrorists are going to use whatever they are making to kill or make really sick many people. She assumes that once they figure it out, Logan will just turn over everything to the proper government officials but in reality he is going to terminate them so they can't do any more harm m anywhere. But will they attraction and feeling for each other get in that way of what they were sent to do? After Logan pushes her away, can he convince her to give them another chance after the assignment is complete?
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Logan . This is the first story in the new series Lighthouse Security Investigation Montana . This story is amazing . Logan is offered a deal too good to believe to create a branch of Lighthouse Security Investigation in Montana . He and his team take their first assignment to investigate and stop a group of terrorists in Alaska . Homeland Security Biologist Vivian Sanders is to work with Logan to discover and destroy what the terrorists are creating . They never set out to fall in love while undercover as a married couple . They definitely didn't expect Vivian in the middle of it all . This story is excellent . I really enjoyed reading it . Definitely intense and Suspenseful . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
Fake marriage wife Vivian and fake hubby Logan on assignment to scope out who and what the terrorists are doing in small town America, she knows the chemistry part of the plan and he knows the rest and is trying not to have to give away the end results, and you talk about chemistry these two are going to spontaneously combust, first mission for LSIMT is going as planned until it's not and Logan and his team are on the fly getting the terrorists round up, ohhhhhh Maryann Jordan I think you may have out done yourself with this book, excitement from beginning to the end, a beautiful love story that ends in happiness, I have voluntarily read and review this ARC, thank you for the privilege, Dana Zamora
