Running from the past is one race you'll never win - and as darkness suffuses the world, JUBILEE's past as a vampire is back to take a big bite out of her! It's gonna take more than a couple plasma bursts to get out of this one, Jubilation…

This was a great fun little one-shot! Calling back to Jubilee's past as a vampire. The Forgiven are cool! Not much to this other than Jubilee saves Sonal and along with Fhost Blade and The Forgiven. Still, being a huge vampire/Jubilee fan, highly recommended! Now I want to get into these Blood Hunt books. There are just so many!
I am definitely getting all 4 of the X-Men issues and Dracula TPB when it comes out! Brielle/Bloodline, Blade's daughter is too cool to pass up on.
Next up, Magik! Getting all the Momoko Peach covers because they're awesome!
A surprisingly okay issue. It was a smaller issue, probably more helpful to recovering drug addicts than your typical comic book fan.
Doesn't help that in the first couple pages, Jubilee described her own powers wrong. "Lumikinetic"? She described her powers as light. A lot. Using that made-up word in particular. This is all wrong, of course. Non-fans sometimes insist that they think Jubilee's powers are light, but she actually produces "plasmoids." Her powers just happen to look like fireworks. In terms of what they're made out of, they're closer to Havok's plasma blasts.
Someone at Marvel keeps wanting to make "The Forgiven" a popular team. They're just a group of vampires. Some of them wear costumes. They *might* have some potential. But, they all have an identical powerset. They're almost always in a group, so there is no real opportunity to differentiate individual characters as individuals. Given a choice between reading Fantastic Four, with strikingly different characters in terms of both personalities and powersets, versus reading about a team of anonymous vampires? Fantastic Four is always going to win.
Just not a fan of this event. It has been so inconsistent. Are the vamps turning people or killing them? Jubilee was concerned with dying not being turned back into a vamp which is what I thought the goal was of the vamps. Heroes killing the victims etc.
