They were best friends who lost touch, but life has brought them together again and this is finally their time to embrace the love that has always simmered. I really like Marty, he is much easier to like than some of his West cousins who are very overbearing at times. Equally Kathy seems sweet, if a little emotionally dinted and lacking in self confidence after her divorce, but they do make a lovely couple. But there is a whole scene where Marty becomes Ethan for a couple of paragraphs before reverting back to being Marty, which was very confusing. And I am a little confused about what the actual threat to Kathy was that resulted in the first letter, because in the confrontation at the end the threat at that point is because they have been digging into Frank....but they only started digging after the letter - so didn't really understand why it became a thing in the first place? I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
I thought this book was more mild than some others in the series. It was good and low key. Dr. Marty has returned to his hometown to work at the hospital. I have not read all of the books in this series. But I didn’t understand why he was so worried about what people thought of him and why he had returned. So either I missed it or it was talked about in another book. Kathy was feeling a lot of shame because of a failed marriage, thinking it was all her fault that her husband left her for someone else. The second chance romance is sweet, but I also felt like the family and neighbors were a little too pushy. There was a bit of drama and suspense, but nothing that had me turning pages. So if you’re into a low-key, sweet, clean, no swearing story this is a great book.
Kathy and Marty were best friends in high school, but Marty went away to medical school and Kathy got married so they kind of lost touch. Marty is back in town now as a doctor and Kathy is divorced after her husband left her for another woman. Her life is a mess, and she is happy that Marty can be a good friend to her again. However, things aren't as they appear with her ex-husband and danger soon follows. Marty determines to get involved to root out the truth of what actually happened. I loved the fun banter between Kathy and Marty. They were a great couple! Marty is part of the West family who have been the basis of this series so they all pop in and out of the story.
Can high school friends connect after many years have passed? Marty returns to his hometown as a much-needed doctor at the local hospital. His best friend from high school lives there and is struggling with the memories of her ex-husband and his reason for leaving her. She and Marty connect on a medical procedure for her - all professional -- at least fo begin with. Excitement fills this one with a criminal investigation that will lead to the reason of the marriage breakup. Good story. Quick read.
When Dr. Marty moves back to his home town of Faith Valley after becoming a physician, he is reunited with Kathy, his best friend. They face many obstacles in the coming weeks.
This is a well-written story with well-developed characters. I believe this is the best of the series and one of Jenna Brandt’s best books. It contains mystery, suspense, romance, and Christian principles such as prayer and faith.
Favorite Quotes: “Faith is trusting light will come even when all you see is darkness.” “We have to believe that there’s a plan for us, that God’s watching over us.”
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is entirely voluntary and unbiased.
I'm really enjoying this series and all the characters of Faith Valley. I loved Marty and Kathy's story. These two were best friends in highschool but he went away to college and everything changed. He's back in town and she's newly divorced. Can they rekindle their friendship and make it more? It all makes for an interesting read.
Examining Their Bond is a Christian, friends to more, second chance, small town, romance with suspense! This well written, well plotted book is a great addition to the series. I was drawn to Marty and Kathy’s story from page one and I just read straight through the book. I love how Marty and Kathy relied on God to get them through their trials.
Quite enjoyed the story, all the way to just before the end. It felt a little rushed and missing info…like who was behind it and why. With the epilogue giving details, there should have been more explanation. And what was going on with Kathy. It’s an important part of the entire story and isn’t explained either.
This is a sweet clean romance that has just the right amount of suspense and drama to keep you turning the pages. Marty and Kathy's story was a joy to read. O received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Fast pace second chance love story between Kathy and Marty. Love the banter and chemistry between these two characters. Great story line keeps moving through out the book. Page turner from page one. Highly recommended
Jenna, you did a marvelous job In creating this story of Kathy and Marty's journey. The storyline is fantastic along with heartfelt and interesting characters. It is also a page turner read.
A sweet second-chance romance. The suspense and action is rather low key. The health issue is vague. A pleasant story with family and friends in a small town. The tale progresses nicely. Thanks to the author for providing a copy. My review is voluntary.
This is the story of a new Doctor moving to town and into a prestigious position at the hospital where he was greater by the other Doctors and nurses who seemed to be all related in some way. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Marty has returned home to work as a doctor. When he comes back he sees his best friend Kathy who he lost touch with. He steps in to help her with a mess her ex husband left behind. Danger, reconnecting and finally seeing what is right in front of your face, romance.
Faith Valley would be hard to move into, even if you’re part of the family. As is normal for her, Jenna Brandt, tackles some tough subjects. In this case, infertility, the line between doctor/patient/friend and that of being the new doctor in a family run hospital. As I expected, this book is entertaining and fun to read. I look forward to the author’s next book.
