Rock Romance Packed With So Much More
I’ve quickly become a fan of Ms. Carbonneau with her rock romance books. This book was a fake marriage with mafia and suspense mixed together. Nevaeh finds her ex cheating with her best friend and when he approaches at a bar trying to get her back, she runs to the biggest man she sees. There is so much more to Kane than she realizes as he is connected with not only a rock band but who is part of the Russian mafia.
With this encounter Nevaeh never expects that this man would do whatever he could to protect her including becoming, what she considers, her fake husband. Kane has other ideas on their marriage.
With every book I read from this author she has drawn me into her rock romance world.

Loved the story. Had me tearing up in the end. Really enjoyed the combination of wholesome family with dark on the edge of your seat suspense. Enjoyed the introduction of a new character. Looking forward to reading more of the series. Spice is on point. I hope there is a new story featuring the older brother. Happy reading.

I was excited to get more after the first book blew me away and book two of the Devils Heartbreak did not disappoint.
This is Kane's story. He's the guitarist from Russia originally and there is a lot more to his background that you get to find out. He falls hard and fast for Nevaeh and thank goodness he did because she needs a devil like never before.
Kane's dark background comes into play in this story and we get to meet some of his family as well (which I kind of hope might lead to another series - hint hint Alannah). Nevaeh isn't looking for a man in fact she's trying to avoid them, one in particular, but when she meets Kane it will be the thing that saves her.
Kane keeps his circle tight and doesn't look to let others in, but he cares intensely for those in that circle. What happened with Wrenlee and Cash haunts him like the other band members and the monster living inside him is determined to protect them all. The moment he meets Nevaeh she takes over his thoughts. On the second meeting, he knows that he will never let her go.
Nevaeh is quite a sweet woman with a close and large extended family. Catching her ex in a compromising position breaks her heart but it's broken more by the fact the other woman was her best friend. Now he won't leave her alone, but she has no idea just how really cruel he can be and when she does find out it could be her end.
After the first book, I was expecting some pretty intense scenes so I was kind of prepared for what was to come. I did expect a big dramatic ending and it wasn't as big as book one a lot of the action started early and I was here for it.
Bring on more of this series Alannah, because I want it.

Nevaeh's ex is trying to get to her again, she's out trying to make connections for her business and she's tired of him ambushing her. She tries to lose him in the crowd but he's only gaining on her. Listening to her Uncle's advice she heads for the big guys at the bar that look like bikers and finds the biggest one begging him to go along with her act.
"Pretend you're my boyfriend. Please."
"Sunshine, who is the asshole.?"
The big guy is huge and intimidating enough to chase her ex away and once she feels like he's gone she heads home leaving the big guy behind but not out of her thoughts. Days later she's still thinking about him, but her ex makes it known that she is not going to leave him, and she had better ditch the new man and return to him or else.
'I'm a rabbit caught in a snare. Right now, I'll break limbs to break free.'
Kane hasn't stopped thinking about the woman he helped and when he finds her in the ER broken and scared he knows he's never going to let her go again. Whoever thought they could hurt this way would soon learn just who Kane really is. He might not seem it but the monster inside him is ready at a moment's notice to be set free.
'The sunshine girl hadn't just sparked that instinct, she'd fucking doused gasoline over the wick before tossing the flame.'
When the other guys show up at the hospital with Kane he tells them that Nevaeh is his and after Cash tells him the real story behind his beginnings with Wrenlee, Kane knows exactly how to make sure that Nevaeh is his and that her ex will never touch her again.
"I'm going to take her home with me. She'll be safe with me."
Hoping that Kane is right Nevaeh goes with him and his friend Candace and they help her heal. As she starts to get better Kane lets her in on a plan to make sure to take her ex's power away. She doesn't understand why he would do all this for her but with no other options that she can see, she agrees. Now, she's married to the sexy rockstar and has to convince everyone they know that despite her breaking off her engagement weeks ago she's now in love and marrying another man. The truth is falling for Kane might be a little too easy.
"Mama, he's good - the kind of good daddy would want for me. When he holds me, I think the world could come crashing down and I'd still be standing untouched in the aftermath. He smells like winter frost - and when he kisses me, I forget how to breathe."
Kane couldn't be happier to have Nevaeh tied to him. She thinks it's temporary, she doesn't know that he's never letting her go. He's already fallen in love with her, he just has to show her that she can love him too. Moster and all.
"I've told you once and I'll tell you again, I'm the bigger monster."
Despite all they've done to keep Nevaeh's ex away it seems the bigger threat is still out there. He might be more dangerous than her ex, but he's not the biggest monster in Nevaeh's life. Kane won't let the same thing that happened to Wrenlee possibly take away the only woman he's ever loved besides his mother. If he has to, he'll call in all the monsters he knows.
'I am after all, my father's son. And when we've found the woman - there's no walking away. There's no after her. There's. Just. Her.'

Rockstar romance with a little Bratva thrown in
I'm relatively new to this author, I read the first book in this series and loved it so I marched right on to thr second. Loved this one too. This author writes men in a way that appeals to me. They are dark, relentless, morally grey and absolutely determined to get the girl while simultaneously sweet, gentle and doting always with her. You don't often see that type of balance. Generally when you get morally grey or black main male characters they take a while to act right with their love interest. Sometimes the things they do are hard to forgive as the reader. I love that these guys are dangerous yet protective. They cross some lines and boundaries to get their girl but it's easily forgiven.
Also I like that this author writes her female character's to be likeable, strong and still soft, intelligent, and reasonable.
There are no frustrating miscommunication issues, third act break ups, irrationally stupid behaviors or choices etc...
All these things combine to make a story that's easy to digest, fun and a pleasure to read.
I look forward to the next in the series.

Alannah Carbonneau is my new favorite author! After Naveah (Heaven spelled backward) caught her ex cheating on her, she stumbled into the arms of Kane Volkov, a drummer in a famous band. Kane proposes a deal that he fake marries her to protect her from her ex and his hired goons. Little does Naveah realize that the marriage isn't fake at all in Kane's mind...
Alannah writes such great possessive heroes! The climax felt maybe a little rushed, I don't know. I didn't fully understand one thing that happened. That's the only criticism I'd really give.
I wasn't surprised at all when the author said she wrote this book in less than 30 days because it flowed seamlessly.

This book is about Kane, a guitarist for Devil’s Heartbreak who has a family with ties to the Russian mafia and meets Nevaeh at a bar who seeks him out to rebuff her ex, who refuses to leave her alone. The second encounter occurs when Kane visits a bandmate’s girlfriend at the ER, where she is a nurse, and sees Nevaeh bruised and hurt from a brutal beating meant as a message from her ex-fiancée. The second book in this rockstar romance series that doesn’t disappoint. Kane is a guitarist with a dark past but a bright future. Nevaeh, a media designer, needs help. She caught her ex-fiancée cheating with her best friend and now he’s determined to get her back. When she asks Kane to help her, she has no idea who he is or how he’s going to change her life. After she survives a brutal attack, Kane is once again her savior and is determined to make her his wife. What starts as a fake marriage soon becomes all too real. As her attacker continues to taunt her, Kane will stop at nothing to destroy him including involving the biggest monster he knows in order to protect his “Sunshine”. Once again, the chemistry is off the charts between these two and the relationships with the other band members are phenomenal. The addition of his brother was exciting, and I hope we get to see more of him in the series or his own book. Looking forward to the next one. Well written ‘rock star’ themed romantic thriller. I loved the previous book in this series and couldn’t wait to read this one. Neveah is being stalked by her unpleasant ex in a nightclub and turns to hunky Kane (who is minding his own business at the bar) to ‘protect’ her. This kicks off a serious of events that keep the reader engaged and guessing almost to the very end of the story. The main thing I loved about this story was the fact that it is Kane who falls hard, first and fast for gentle Neveah – willing to risk his life to protect and keep her (including marrying her!) I liked that she is the light to the darkness within him, complementing the more scary aspects of his character shaped by his Bratva family legacy. A really enjoyable romantic thriller; I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Where does she run? Yep into the arms of a HUGE man who now doesn't want to let her go.
Kane knows what Cash went through and he is determined to protect Nevaeh at all costs even if his alter ego has to come and play.
She needs a fake boyfriend, but is she ready for the real thing...
It's a fantastically written story and I can't wait to read more.

This was Russian mafia lite. MMC is the "spare" child of bratva leader but he plays in an American rock band.
The constant CONSTANT reminders of his whoring days would normally make this a 3 or lower for me. As it was, I skipped literally all the smexy times because there were too many ick moments where it would come up. And that annoyed me because they looked like they would be Hella good.
The absolute brutal justice handed out to all the baddies made me raise my score. It. Was. That. Awesome. Like... if you ever feel unsatisfied by a suspense thriller where the villain gets off too easy? Come read this book. It's mother-effing-satisfying.

This was my first story by Alannah and I loved it. I was captivated from the beginning until the end. I loved Kane, he’s the protective and sexy rockstar guy with a special family history. I can not wait to read Ilya’s story, it sounds so promising and I would love to see him fall in love. Nevaeh was a sweet girl and fit right into the group of girlfriends. This story was a nice read to start the new year, with passion, some suspense and some great characters.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Devils Heartbreak series. Kane is truly a bad boy with a good heart and his romance with Neveah proves it. I loved how sure he was of the "realness" of their relationship and how she needed the convincing. I enjoyed getting glimpse into some of the secondary characters such as Tan and Ilya and I look forward to reading their stories. This captivating romance, rated 3.5 stars, weaves a well-written narrative with just the right amount of spice. The plot's brisk pace keeps readers engaged in this medium burn love story. The FMC is instantly likable, while the MMC shines as a compelling, possessive alpha. Though the ending lacks the same climactic intensity as book one, it ties up the story threads with a satisfying conclusion. A delightful read that strikes a balance between passion and plot progression.

Well written, sexy, intriguing, swoony, funny, and all around delicious. This book grabbed me from the jump and kept me glued to the pages as I devoured each word. I couldn't get enough--I was depressed when it was over! I cannot wait for the next book!!!!

Best book I've read in a long time!
This series so far is one of favorites. Deal with the devil has a little bit of everything. Russian Bratva, rockstar's and a deranged physcopath lt also gives you true friends and family you can count on.

Great reading material.
Loved reading about love that is the forever kind. I can't stop reading once I started. From start to finish I was captivated by the characters and the story. Wil surely recommend to friends who love a great steamy story with heart and thrills.

I loved this story. I started it last night and ended up reading till 5am as I couldn't put the book down. I wanted to know more and more. I am still within the 24 hour window and I just finished. Great, sexy, bad boy read.

Kane and neveah
I love there was depth to Kane character. She got involved the arrogant spoiled man that not take will no for an answer. Kane and his family was there to protect her.

I’m in love with this devil
My first Alannah Carbonneau book and this is the first book I read in this series.
I really enjoyed both characters. Plenty of spice, nice amount of drama. I read it in a day, couldn’t put it down.
Definitely reading more of her books.

I really enjoyed this book! The way that Nevaeh runs into the big scary Kane to be saved and the way they fall in love with each other just had my heart strings getting pulled. Kane’s Russian family getting a part in this was also pretty cool. The way that Ilya is this big scary guy with nothing but coldness in his eyes is willing to help Nevaeh rid herself of the evil that came her way like it was no big deal because “that’s what family does” was just amazing. I love seeing/reading about these guys who are big, scary, and seem mean actually have a big soft side that only shows for the one he loves. There was also some spice in the book which is always a plus!

I loved this book so much! Nevaeh is running from her cheating and abusive ex, Antonio. She thought she was free of him but he was following her closely. She was in a club and starts to panic, where can she go. She remembers something her uncle said and ran towards the biggest guy she saw and threw her arms around him. She begged him for help and told him who she was running away from and asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend. The guy, Kane, agreed and managed to get rid of Antonio but not before he threatens her, he will come to regret what he said. Kane can't stop thinking about her and wonders if he will see her again. Unfortunately, he sees her in a hospital after her ex had hired an absolute monster to beat her really badly and to let her know that she can't run from him. The attack was shockingly violent and very unsettling. I found it very upsetting and I think that it would be triggering for many people. Kane is a guitarist for the band Devil's Heartbreak but he is also a Volkov from a prominent and powerful Russian family. Kane has an idea to keep Nevaeh safe, marry him! Nevaeh thinks it's a fake marriage but Kane has no plans to let her go. He will keep her safe but will also find a way of getting rid of her ex and the monster who attacked her. Luckily he has people he can call on to help, one of them being his older brother who is more than happy to help. The circumstances surrounding the attack on Nevaeh are very disturbing but the heat level between her and Kane is off the charts! There is a HEA for Nevaeh and Kane but not for her ex or the monster sent to hurt her which I was more than happy to find out!

This author is fast becoming one of my favorites. She has a way of pulling you in the story and making it hard to put the book down. From the previous book I was curious about Kane and I enjoyed reading his story. This is a MUST read but I would recommend reading the previous one.
