I never expected to find my Omega, not in this world we had created, but when her lot came up, I knew she would be mine forever…
Omegas were useful for nothing but breeding and status. Betas were simply there to make our lives easier but were sold just as easily. Alphas, like myself, were the ones who ruled the world and demanded obedience.
That’s the society our ancestors created for us. The one where I found Nyla at an auction, cowering and broken, like the Omega she was. Then I claimed her as my true mate.
Would Nyla kneel before me like a good little Omega, or would she break beneath me, showing the world their opinions of her worth were truer than she ever knew?
This was brimmed full with surprises. She had me at an ff Omegaverse. Then to discover everything that female alpha was packing had my jaw on the floor.
Adira was a true alpha, in fact, she was an asshole. I honestly didn’t think she gave a single shit about Nyla other than fucking and breeding. On one hand I was here for all the dub con and treating the omega like a toy. On the other hand, like numerous Omegaverse novels are won’t to do, the politics pissed me off. And they should if you consider yourself a feminist. So, in no uncertain terms does that mean I didn’t enjoy this novella. I did.
Full of surprises and good steam. If you’re looking to be entertained look no further.
blah blah blah…dark romance…blah blah blah. this is basically , what if chattel slavery and misogyny came together to create a sinister thing for views. im glad both characters are white cause this would be straight up raceplay if not. and i get it blah blah blah dark romance basically means “the weaker” fmc gets raped over and over then we pretend she enjoys it to suit our rape fantasies blah blah blah. at the end of the day the dehumanisation was just so blaring there was nothing else to it. no heat, no tension. just oppression.
and i know you might be thinking to yourself, kg …why read the book if you knew the trigger warnings? i honestly have no excuse other than i expected it to be handled better. idk if i was expecting a miracle but maybe something to not justify the actions but to immerse me in it so while i wouldn’t be on her side , i’d still be able to objectively say “okay this book was a good old fashioned erotica just not my style” .
For what it is I really enjoyed this ( maybe a little too much.. reminded me of reading ‘those' books on Wattpad I had no business reading). Wish this wasn’t a novella because I want more and it was a little rushed but honestly I didn’t mind.
How about we just call this Adira rapes her omega over and over again… like seriously… I love a good ff omega verse but come on… this is fucked up… big time… the girl is barely 18 and her accelerated training consists of being raped before being sold into slavery… but wait, thank god her mate is there to save the day by, you guessed it, raping her as soon as they get in the car. I get that this is supposed to be dark and all but it’s more gross then anything.
This was good for what it is. I enjoyed the story and the characters. I definitely wasn’t expecting one of the females to also have male anatomy…. But I enjoyed it regardless. Novellas aren’t my favorite but they are a great introduction to an author’s writing. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author, color me intrigued!
We are back in the Omegaverse! This is a world full of shifters that is dark and delicious! The alphas are just that…alphas and very domineering. Of course, the prize comes in the form of omegas. In this world, the women alphas are matched anatomically with the males (of course, the author had to use their imaginations to make it so)! Adira is the richest alpha in her area. She attends the auctions on a regular basis. Once in a while, she will save one of the slaves from other harsher crueler alphas. While attending this auction, it happened…she found her mate! Nyla is an omega, and her father found out a secret, which caused him to send her to the auction house for training and to be broken. When she discovers her mate is a female alpha, she has no clue what to expect…especially, when her alpha discovers she is ruined. While Adira adheres to the protocols put in place for alphas in public, she can be quite different in private. She will stake her claim with harsh realities and at the same time lighter play. The relationship between Adira and Nyla is somewhat complicated with many layers.
If the reader is not familiar with the dark worlds, he or she may discover this is not the read for them. Those familiar will understand the complex relationships that develop within the accords of the fantasy world written by the author. This is a novella filled with darkness, possessiveness, and dominance. You will be able to pick out the underlying emotions at play between the depicted main characters; their love that grows for one another. The deep-seated desire the omega possesses to please her alpha; but at the same time, she wants to express her free will. All this, while both are imprisoned in a world catered to by what is expected, even in private. So, if this is the world you read, then this is a fantastic little read that will set your heart afire…plus, other areas! If not, either give it a chance and read into the complex relationship or pass it on by in favor of your familiar genres!
Sullyn Shaw has been an author I have been dying to read for months and now that I have all I can say is I am OBSESSED!!
Adira might have been your typical alpha but there was something about her that just kept drawing me to here. Even when I wanted to strangle her for not taking some of Nyla's thoughts into consideration but hey, that is the name of the game in this world baby.
Nyla had been through so much and for her to find some semblance of happiness after all of that it just made my insides all warm and gushy.
And I've got to note HOW & WHY is this is my first FF omegaverse novel?! I mean come on!! I need so many more of them now.
Sullyn has a new fan, and I can't wait to read more!!
This is a FF omegaverse story. No matter how many stories I read, it blows my mind when an author finds another way to take a written over and over again concept and takes it to new levels. Betas and Omegas auctioned off, trainings to teach them how to behave, Alphas that use Betas and Omegas in science experiments.
Adira and Nyla's story may not start out the most romantic, but it finishes with a bang! I really enjoyed watching their relationship start, evolve, while growing to a whole new level. Warning tho, this one does have a few CW's so be aware and check those out first!
In a world where being an Omega is not a good thing the only way to even think about getting a HEA is to find your true mate. When Adira looks into Nyla's eyes as she is being sold on the auction block, that is what happens. While the path to the future may not be smooth, Adira is sure that Nyla will be her Omega and, as her Alpha, she will ensure Nyla is happy and hopefully pregnant. Great read, absorbing from start to finish.
Loved this one. Personal preference has me reaching for longer stories usually but this one reallllly scratched an itch. Adira is a perfectly written female alpha with all that entails and Nyla is a feisty omega who still acts like an omega! This novella manages to bring us from meeting to HEA in just a few chapters. All of the good stuff, no filler.
It was my first time reading a dark romance. It was quick but quite the experience. While I was reading it, I was thinking about the reasons why someone would read “Adira’s Omega” and truly enjoy the story and the characters. Then it hit me: people with rape fantasies. No other explanation for the recurring violence and the nature of omegas (always physically ready to engage in sexual activity although mentally unavailable). Definitely not my jam.
This was a 3.5ish to me. It's way too short with a rushed-feel. It comes across- incomplete in a way. It's like a tease in a way that makes me a bit frustrated lol. I'm a huge fan of dark Sapphic/omegaverse and it has so much promise. I'm a bit disappointed but I really liked the premise and imagine it *could've* been really good as an actual story.
3 stars. I will always pick up sapphic omegaverse stories. Most of them aren’t very good but I keep trying anyways. This one was dark and fucked up but I kind of liked it. Adira is very, very dominant and possessive of Nyla and their relationship is not healthy but it worked for them in a messed up way. This was a quick and spicy read. Not a new favorite but I liked it.
Intense trauma, having no life of your own but be used and discarded! These alphas should be re educated and a lot of power should be taken from them. These omegas and betas, goes threw hell in this book. Happy our MC's found each other quickly. Others not so lucky at all. Good book for a 5 🌟 and wish there is a follow up on our lovers for a HEA.
I liked this novella. It's a dark FF omegaverse. Adira is an alpha who attends the auctions. She discovers her true mate, Nyla, at one of these auctions. The rest of novella is Nyla and Adira living their life together. It's a quick read that is full of spice.
Meh. Like the style of writing, but not the story itself. It's a novella so obviously the story is pretty thin and there's no insights into the characters etc. Reminder to self that I don't enjoy novellas.
I don't know why I read this, I knew I would hate it and I did, it's awful, it's rushed, the world is horrible and Adira sucks, this isn't for me at all, but I guess I was curious and maybe now I'll learn to ignore it.
A spicy, dark, FF omegaverse novella that was so enjoyable. Adira was a possessive and domineering female alpha towards Nyra, an omega. A very quick read I enjoyed.
I have no idea what these Alphas were, genetic mutations of some sort. But what? Poor Nyla and the life she had to live as an Omega. I am not sure if Adira was good or bad. It was hard to say. Knowing that Nyla’s life could have been much worse, I lean toward Adira being what was best for her. And since she was her true mate, then that means that Adira was built for her just as much as she was built for Nyla.
I actually wished this was longer. I would love to know how things progress with them. I liked the new take on how it is proven that you’re soulmates. I like this authors writing style. I would definitely recommend this book.
Adira's Omega by Sullyn Shaw is a dark FF omegaverse. When Adira discovers Nyla for sale she is shocked to find that Nyla is her Omega, her true mate. Adira claims her. However can Nyla survive the darkness inside Adira or will it break her? This is a fast-paced, fast-burn story. There was plenty of spice with some interesting special omegaverse touches. Adira is the perfect female alpha that dominates her Omega Nyla in some naughty ways. It is a little dark but it Is sweet in its own kind of way.
