Those were the first words he said to me… Don't jump to conclusions. It's not what you think.
Unfortunately.
I guess I should explain...
I was seventeen years old when a shopping trip suddenly turned disastrous. Lucky for me, the most handsome man I ever laid eyes on—officer Alex Rinaldi—rescued me.
Ten years and countless disastrous first dates later, I still can’t get the hot cop out of my head.
Then life throws me a curveball. I find myself back in my hometown. Once again, Alex comes to my aid. But this time it’s like fireworks on the 4th of July—explosive and oh-so-hot. We can’t resist the magnetic pull between us.
Perfect, right?
Wrong!
Alex is allergic to commitment, and I live across the country. Could the odds be any more against us?
Will I be able to convince Alex that life’s too short to resist the irresistible? Or will we end up as just another hilarious footnote in the book of failed romances? Find out in “Cop A Feel,” the latest swoon-worthy laugh-out-loud romantic comedy from author Hilary Grossman.
Hilary Grossman is a recovering corporate executive. She spends her mornings and weekends hanging out with her "characters." She has an unhealthy addiction to denim and high heel shoes. She’s been known to walk into walls and fall up stairs. She only eats spicy foods and is obsessed with her cat, Lucy. She loves to find humor in everyday life. She likens life to a game of dodge ball - she tries to keep many balls in the air before they smack her in the face. She lives on the beach in Long Island.
This is a cuteish/sweetish romance about fate and the ultimate love story. He was her hero after a harrowing event when she was only 17 years old. He was her hero now when she was stranded on the side of the road in her old hometown ten years later. She never forgot 'Hot Cop' or what he had said to her all those years ago, and basically used him as a mold for any potential love interests. Of course no one measured up. Luckily, he was single now so she could make a move if she had the courage. There is the budding relationship between these two (which they agree to be a 'just enjoy our time together' since she's only in town for a couple of weeks,) but there is also the love story of her grandparents that is told throughout the book... and how that love is what she wants to have. While the two have the chemistry and the attraction, they also have a slight problem (or two.) He lives in New York and she lives in Arizona. His family is here. Her family is there. Neither one wants to move, but that isn't even the biggest hurdle. No, the biggest obstacle they face is the fact that neither will admit their true feelings for the other, leaving the other to second guess everything. There is some humor. There is some sexual content, but it is all very low key, and while not exactly a fade to black, it's not graphic. Just enough to know what is happening. (And in a few scenes, it begins and then sorta skips over to the next scene.) Safe for teens and up. The characters are real and believable and relatable. Overall, an enjoyable read.
I finished this book in one day, it was that good! This book had me in my feels, giggling, kicking my feet with glee, crying along with the characters, everything! I absolutely adored the two main characters, Randi and Alex and their journey to find love.
This was my first time reading something by Hilary Grossman, and after reading this book, I will definitely be reading more of her work! I enjoyed the balance between spice and romance and the relationship felt real and relatable.
I was rooting for the main characters the entire time, and often found myself yelling at my kindle, thinking it would do something! I enjoy when a story is told through more than one point of view, and this book was no different. I loved seeing both perspectives, especially when talking about the same situation!
All in all, this was the perfect romance/ small town love story to start off the month of September, and I am so excited to read the next book!
Randi was initially saved by Alex when her boyfriend abandoned her in her time of need. 10 years on and hot cop, Alex saved her again at the side of a road when Randi was returning to her hometown to clear out and sell her grandfather's house. Two hot and steamy weeks follow. However, both made it clear from the start this would only be a fling as Randi has to return to her attorney life in Arizona. This story made be laugh, cry and swoon for these two as they tried to find a way to eventually be together.

4,5 ⭐️ This was such a great read, very easy en fluent. I liked the love story between Alex and Randi. Even though they didn’t realize it at the time but it was love at first sight. Their first real date was the sweetest, I could picture everything about it together with Luigi. When Alex and Randi are together, they are fire. I really adored Alex and even his coworkers like Janice and Pete were great. I’m glad this book is part of a series and I’m curious to read the rest.

This is a cute, romantic story with lovable characters. I liked the plot, the fact that he had influenced her so much but he had never known, and it made me smile as well. It is written in first person and we get both the MC POV. It’s not really spicy (max 1/5 🌶️) but you get an idea of what’s happening. I only wish it was a bit longer; I would have loved a couple more dates before the end. I’d like to see a bit more how Alex realised he fell in love.
Alex and Randi's story starts 10 years before they see each other again. Randi meets Alex when there is a call into the shopping center for a possible shooting. He finds her hidden under clothes worried about if her boyfriend at the time is okay. He gives her advice when she realizes that her boyfriend has left her and that she shouldn't be with someone who runs away.
Randi remembers the advice even years after they meet again; she is selling her grandparent's home. They end up having a fling while she's in town not expecting to fall in love with each other since Randi wants that love that never runs away and stays through everything and Alex is a commitment-phobe and is not the same man when they met 10 years earlier.
Alex and Randi fall for one another but they go their separate ways (communication is always key people). They realize their mistake and meet each other at the airport after a couple of days of being separated. it is a HEA and it was the best we could've gotten.
This is a very easy read and I loved every minute of the banter, love, and the way they acted on each other's "shortcomings". Alex has issues speaking about his emotions due to a past relationship; Randi has struggled with loud sounds since the day she met Alex. Their love is one of the ages.
Creating lasting memories or establishing a foundation for forever? Cop A Feel (I Can't Stop Loving You Book 1) by Hilary Grossman brings acquaintances together after a decade and turns Randi's teenage admiration of Alex into an all too adult attraction. This book takes the characters on quite the journey. Their chemistry is immediate, but there is a bit of slow burn here as Randi is hesitant and Alex is all for anything and everything physical. The emotional journey seems like it's at just the right time for where Alex and Randi are in their lives. Randi and Alex grabbed my attention from the get go and I attribute that to the author establishing their connection and taking the time at the beginning of the book with a prologue. It absolutely sets the tone for the book. In the present, the prologue and Randi's actions make a whole lot of sense and sends these two characters on a merry and messy emotional chase. Overall, a wonderful romantic comedy with amazing characters that fight through insecurities and self-doubt, finding themselves in a stubborn, self-sabotage standoff of a sort. Alex and Randi do the hard work and mend each other's hearts with a very satisfying HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
Cop a Feel (what a terrific title) is a sweet and sassy rom-com that hits all the right notes. A chance meeting in a store dressing room (meet-cute) between teenaged Miranda and hunky police officer Alex, leads to a second equally random meeting ten years later. Miranda (Randi) has thought of Alex often during the time in between, remembering him as the perfect male that none of her subsequent dates have come close to living up to. In her eyes, he is still that sexy cop that took her breath away all those years ago, as well as a kind and compassionate man. But Alex has changed and while he is definitely attracted to Randi, a gorgeous defense attorney, he may not have the emotional bandwidth for a serious relationship. Add in the fact that Randi lives 2,000 miles away and is only back in town for two weeks and... well, you just have to read Cop A Feel (An I Can't Stop Loving You Story Book 1) by the super-talented Grossman and find out for yourself.
This is not the first of her books that I have enjoyed and won't be my last either.
Cop A Feel was such a fun book to read. Oh my! It is the prequel to Cop An Attitude and Cop A Plea. Hilary Grossman pulled these books from sale and revamped them. Cop A Feel was previously Hot Cop Test and part of an anthology. She expanded the story and made it a full length rom com and the first book in the series.
She has changed the covers on all the books and added scenes to the second and third book. This is a game changer! I am so excited to read the new and improved series.
Hilary is a master of rom com and I've read several of her books. These books are HOT but, nothing this old lady can't handle. I loved Cop A Feel and the characters. I know you will too.
I absolutely can't wait to read the revamped versions of books Cop An Attitude and Cop A Plea. I hope you join me in supporting an author who certainly knows how to entertain and carry you away from your everyday boring life! Until next time…Happy Reading!

Though this review is late (honestly didn't realized I didn't post it)
Cop a feel is the 1st book of the series of I can't stop Loving you. It was a very cute and relaxing read for me. The story was set in a small town, the characters met in a mall, where the MFC was cowering in fear when she thought shots ran off. The MMC was handsome, understanding and confident within himself and left a lasting impression on the MFC which later determined her life's outcome. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters from the get go. I liked that out of a bad situation one can always find a positive. Accepting others for who they are, what they are and helping them grow is what love is and its also quite a healing when you can find one, amidst misunderstandings to be there for you.
It was a beautiful story and I am definitely going to read book 2. Give the story a chance, read between the lines and find a message.

If it's meant to be, it'll be - eventually. Ten years ago Officer Rinaldi rescued Randi from a dressing room she was hiding in after hearing a shooting. He gave her sage advice that she took with her to college and never forgot him. Subconsciously, she measured up every man to her hot cop hero. Now she's back in town for two weeks to clean out and sell her grandfather's house and who does she run into.... her chance to see if her hot cop lives up to her ten year buildup. He definitely over-delivers! She's scared of catching feelings and he says he definitely doesn't catch those pesky things long term. Randi is convinced she can do this. She's only there for two weeks so she can absolutely control it. Good luck with that one.
I loved this so much! These two can't communicate their true feelings for nothing but still, I love them. So fun! Major heart eyes!
(Also, Alex's partner, Pete, gets his own blast from the past menace in Cop An Attitude. Read it too! It's great!)
This charming story delivered a quick and heartwarming meet-cute, sprinkled with a chance encounter a decade later.
Amidst the swoon-worthy romance, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of this book. It tackled some heavy issues and life lessons, which added a layer of complexity. Randi, the main character, had to navigate through these lessons, learning and growing along the way. Watching her open up to Alex was truly heartwarming.
Alex had his own past issues to grapple with, and I admired how the author didn't shy away from addressing these. Their relationship wasn't without its miscommunications, but I appreciated that it didn't get dragged out into frustrating territory. The way it was handled felt authentic and kept me engaged.
In a nutshell, "Cop a Feel" is a quick, cute read. It's a journey of personal growth, love, and second chances. If you're in the mood for a heartwarming story with genuine characters, give this one a go!
This story was so sweet and so heartbreaking. I adored that I got to see some of what happened before the first book I read in this series, (Cop an Attitude, about Pete and Waverly). I loved Alex as part of their supporting cast, and I love even more that we get to see how he got his Happy Ever After. But wow. Watching them connect with one another, get vulnerable and reveal their deepest truths to each other, was something so special. However, for every step that brought Alex and Randi closer together, they would trip themselves up and move farther apart. Even knowing what the end result would be, these two made me doubt if they were going to get there. Now I feel like I need to re-read the whole series, because that reminded me how much I loved these characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
I loved this sweet, emotional and funny story!! Small town romance is definitely a favorite trope of mine.
I loved Pete and Waverly’s story in Pebble Cove, and now this is Pete’s cop partner’s story. Alex and Randy (Miranda) are such a great couple! He is always coming to her rescue! I loved how they met, and how no other man compared to Alex in Randy’s opinion. She called it her Hot Cop test. When she sees Alex and they hook up, she knows why no other man could compare.
I love so many of the characters of Pebble Cove! This series is so funny, extremely romantic, and at times very emotional. I highly recommend it, if you enjoy RomComs, Romance (Small Town) and close family!!
This is the first book in the, An I Can't Stop Loving You Story series. The book was sweet and had moments where I was laughing out loud... Poor Randi doesn't have good choices in men til she met Alex and unfortunately for her, she was set to leave to go across the country to college.. Fast forward some years later and Randi is back in town and lucky for her Alex comes to her rescue when she needs help. But how can she repay him? This book has a small age gap, an independent woman and a man afraid of commitment... Its cute, a little spicy and fun. I can't wait til the second book of the series💜
I seem to be in the minority with this one but I just didn’t vibe with it. How they met was great, so that, coupled with how they were reintroduced, held a lot of promise. Sadly, for me, this dissolved into a long series of communications that created drama, rather then, you know, actual drama.
If the story of their meeting, their lives since, the lead up to their meeting again, the similarities to the grandparents relationship was detailed further, it would’ve been more interesting. There were whole chunks in the middle that didn’t move the story forward… anyway, I’m just being pedantic now… it just wasn’t for me.
This is a cute story about Randi and Alex. They initially met when Randi was at a mall during an incident. She was hiding under some clothes when Alex, a police officer, finds her. Randi's boyfriend at the time had just left her there to fend for herself, which leaves a lasting effect on her.
Ten years later, the two meet up again and although the chemistry is strong, they have a difficult time communicating with each other. Plus, Randi is only in town for a short period of time. Will they let their second chance go to waste?
This is a quick read, very low in spice, but heavy on the feels.
This book was an absolute pleasure to read. Alex and Randi are an amazing couple. Alex is a broken hearted, will never love again cop in a small, close community. Randi is a tough, don’t mess with me attorney in a big city. They had crossed paths 10 years earlier, and upon meeting again, sparks flew. The writing is brilliant. The characters were funny, romantic, captivating, and meant to be together. The author is incredibly talented and has a charming way with word. This is going to be such a great series.
I loved every minute of this fun story! Hilary has romanced us again with this fun and spicy story of Alex and Randi!
Time knows no boundaries when love is involved. Randi and Alex met during a tragic encounter and there was just a moment where sparks flew but life had other plans for each of them. Fast forward to a second chance meeting 10 years later and that spark is still very much alive and well. Hilary takes us on a journey of love, laughter, desire and happily ever after in this delightful rom-com!
What do you do when you’ve measured every man you’ve dated against the man who came to your rescue a decade ago? You capture the rescuer! Not that Randi had ever planned to run into Alex again. I thought that was a really exciting element between Randi and Alex–the fact that a one-time meet-up with ‘Hot Cop’ during a potentially serious situation would later turn into a fateful run-in so many years after the fact.
It’s interesting, because the synopsis states that Alex is allergic to commitment, which is definitely the case. But it appears that Randi has her own disgruntled feelings when it comes to relationships. While she doesn’t want to get too close to Alex while she’s in town, she figures if she goes in knowing that there’s no chance of a long-term relationship, that they can have as much fun as they can during two short weeks, then go their separate ways. That’s never how it happens, though. Randi feels that Alex is the perfect man for her, and Alex can’t even fathom losing Randi.
I loved the realness of both characters. Alex has been viewed as perfect, yet he is far from, and we get to witness that with his exchanges and inner dialogue. Randi has worked most of her life to pay homage to what she’d experienced as a teenager, intent on going back to Arizona and never looking back on her hometown, but there is a lot there to go back to, not just her Hot Cop. Neither wants to change, because they’re both afraid of change. It’s in their similarities that they find common ground, but they can’t see that they ultimately want the same things.
I love all of Hilary Grossman’s books, but Cop A Feel really hooked me. I loved the banter between characters, the honesty in the situations they are thrown in, and the spice element within certain scenes didn’t hurt, either. It was a fun, sweet experience, a definite five-star read!
Ten year ago a police officer saved her life. Back in her hometown to clear her grandfather’s house she is stranded in the road when a police car pull to help her. What are the chances that the same good looking and compassionate police officer is going to save her again? Can two weeks bring Alex and Randi together or will their lives break them even if they are meant to be together? Sweet love story.
Mending each others hearts. I loved how this book showed two people scared to fall in love for different reasons. You had one scared because of a past relationship and what he saw in his job, and another who was scared to let her walls down and trust her heart. The chemistry between them was off the charts and I loved how both were willing to take the jump in the end and take that chance. Good read!
I just adored this book. This is a great series. The characters are beautiful and heartwarming not to mention sexy together. The storyline is fantastic. I'm glad I got the chance to read this book. I've already read Pete's story so when I got the chance to read Alex's story I couldn't pass it up. I highly recommend reading this and I definitely look forward to reading more from the author.
I really liked this story. Alex and Randi had chemistry from the start. The characters developed well throughout the book. Their 2 weeks together were magical and left me wanting more of them together. I was almost as sad as them when their time together was over. I really liked their wit and the humor had me giggling out load a few times. A must read!
This was a fun read, steamy in parts but not over the top. Its one of those books that you don't really want to put down as the characters are fun, although to be honest you want to yell at them to talk a bit more about expectations and not just go on what they think. But you feel happy when all the loose ends are wrapped up.
This was a sweet book. If you are looking for light and quick, this is a book for you. Randi (Miranda) has to return to her childhood town to clean out her late grandfather's house in two weeks. When her rental car gets a flat tire, hot cop Alex comes to her aide. Randi and Alex have met before....10 years before, when he was a responding officer to a fireworks incident at the mall. For over 10 years, Randi has compared all potential love interests to this one man. Will Randi take a chance and see if her hot cop has lived up to the 10 year fantasy she has created or will she push away and always wonder?
I liked this book and some of the underlying "lessons" made throughout the book. Right away, we are seeing that Randi wants to defer her acceptance to Stanford so that she can be with her boyfriend. Even though her mom tries to talk her out of it, Randi is not budging. But then the mall incident happens and she listens to the advice the hot cop gives her. I think a lot of women can agree that we do not need to have a man to go for our dreams.
I also appreciate the part where it talks about being replaceable at work. It sticks with me because I am at a point in my life where I am questioning my career. We have been ingrained with loyalty to a company that will pay off, but in reality that is not the case. Your work is not your life and you can leave a place of work to get the life you want.
I am excited for this series to continue and see where widowed Pete ends up!

This was my first read from this author and I enjoyed it very much. Totally fell in love with Alex and Randi. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
