Just one night she wouldn't be plain old Elle Thompson. Tonight she feels like Cinderella. And the man from the masquerade ball leading her into his room is her Prince Charming. No real names, no phone numbers, and their masks stay on. But fairy tales aren't real, and her reality at home is far from dreamy. Elle's step-mother and step-sister have her running herself ragged trying to meet their every demand while single handedly trying to keep the bed and breakfast her parents started before she was born from going under. Elle never expected to see 'Charming' again so she's left speachless when he shows up at the front door, and beyond speechless to find out he's her step-brother.
After years of traveling for business Channing is in Mistletoe Creek to spend Thanksgiving with his mother and sister and to offer advice on the condition of the bed and breakfast his step-father left his mother. With reservations down drastically something needs to be done. Channing had never met his step-sister but when he arrives there is something instant and familiar between them. But things at the bed and breakfast aren't what he expected and the mother and sister he knew growing up have changed drastically.
When the pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place Channing is determined to follow his heart. Now, if he can just convince Elle that he chooses her.
Midnight in Mistletoe by Breanna Lynn is book 3, part of a collaborative author holiday series about Mistletoe Creek (9 books). After reading Midnight in Mistletoe, a sexy take on Cinderella, a favorite classic fairy tale, I can’t wait to read the other books in the series. Elle goes to a Hospitality Conference, where she meets Prince Charming at the conference’s masked ball. After sparks that sizzle and turn into a smoking one-night stand, the masked Elle leaves him in a panic to return home to her family’s B &B, The Glass Slipper. Elle runs the family B & B after her father dies, even though she has a stepmother and stepsister who could help but refuse to do so. Elle’s status changed from a beloved daughter of the inn owner to merely hired help to run the B & B, constantly catering to the whims of her stepmother and stepsister. It is quite a surprise for Elle to finally meet her stepbrother Channing, who is visiting for the Christmas holiday. Channing is no other than her Charming from the Halloween masked ball one night stand from the Hospitality Conference. Will Channing recognize Elle from the ball? What will happen to The Glass Slipper B & B since reservations are down and it’s hard to make ends meet? Will Elle and Channing fall in love? Are they already besotted with each other? It is such a fun read with smoking-hot scenes. Breanna Lynn never fails to write romance that always exceeds my expectations!
What to expect: Spice in the first chapter! Fairy tale retelling of Cinderella Forbidden romance/ stepbrother Christmas romance Small town Novella
This is not a Disney retelling of Cinderella for sure! Breanna Lynn's version starts out with what was supposed to be a one night stand. And a hot one at that! Channing and Ella met at a masquerade ball and kept the masks in place throughout everything that night. Despite that Ella knew as soon as he showed up on her doorstep that her Prince Charming was actually Channing her stepbrother. Ella did her best to keep her identity from him but it was game on as soon as he realized she was his beloved Cinderella!
I loved the chemistry and the forbidden aspect! Midnight in Mistletoe was a fun and easy read that I didn't want to put down! Now I'm even more excited to read the rest in the series! Ladies, you know how to make your target audience happy! Take our favorite childhood movies and make them spicy!
I received an advanced review copy for free, and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
Leave it to Ms. Lynn to give us a hot and steamy right from the start amazing Christmas story. Midnight in Mistletoe is a small-town, one-night-stand, somewhat forbidden romance that is riveting and has you unable to put it down. This book is also a fractured fairytale that sees Prince Charming saving Cinderella at The Glass Slipper. Elle and Channing have a chance meeting, set the sheets on fire night however, the only stipulation is that no names are exchanged and the masks stay on from the masquerade ball. Throw in the wicked stepmother and cruel stepsister and life is not all rainbows and roses for Elle. She finds out that her Prince Charming is Channing and he should be off limits, but the attraction is just too strong. Will the wicked stepmother get in between them and will her lies break Elle's heart even more than it already is? Will her Prince Charming come to Cinderella's rescue? I absolutely loved this book and wanted so much more of Elle and Channing. I recommend grabbing this wonderful book and enjoy this wonderful love story.
I so enjoyed this book - a fun twist on 'Cinderella'. Of course the evil stepmother is up to no good, the equally rotten stepsister is no joy, they run Elle ragged; but, she doesn't do a lot of complaining, as she is the lone caretaker of The Glass Slipper, a little Inn her parents built up, and is much loved be their customers. Elle goes to the big city for a conference, she meets a handsome man - and has the night of her life; she leaves the next morning, satisfied but filled with longing for her 'prince' of the night. Fast forward a short time, and preparations for Christmas are taking place around town, with the Inn at its festive best, Elle is informed that her stepbrother will be joining them for the holidays. Can you guess where I'm going with this - yup, Elle opens the front door for an incoming guest, and yup its her 'prince', her stepbrother
Possibly mild spoilers.... I felt like the Cinderella theme didn't work in current day with a supposedly college educated woman. Elle came off as naive and a doormat. I don't understand how Channing wasn't at his mom's wedding or his stepfather's funeral. Yes, he traveled for business a lot but surely could have fit in a planned wedding? How did Elle not realize she was part owner of the B&B? She never went to the will reading and just accepted what her stepmother told her? She spent three years letting her and her stepsister treat her like a maid? Elle repeatedly said her and Channing shouldn't be together because he was her stepbrother. They're adults, never met before, and her dad is dead so it's not like it's weird because the parents are still married. I guess if you can read and not ask questions and take it for what it is, you would probably enjoy it more than I did.
A modern and holiday twist on Cinderella and this story starts out with a bang….literally.
I loved Elle and Channing from the start. These two had insane amounts of chemistry as complete strangers, yet when their paths cross again the sparks are still there. I loved everything about the two of them and while things happened quickly between them, nothing felt overly rushed when it came to their relationship. I love that Channing wasn’t anything like the rest of his family and truly got to know Elle and see the truth in everything.
Elle’s stepmother and stepsister…..well they definitely fit the evil category and they got everything they deserved in the end.
If you’re looking for a small town, holiday, fairy tale retelling, step siblings romance check this one out.
Part of a wider series set in Mistletoe Creek, Tennessee, can be read as a standalone (at least I don’t think I missed anything by not reading any of the previous books).
Elle is at a hotelier conference where she meets the most ‘charming’ man at a masquerade ball which leads to the hottest night Ella has had in her whole life. In the grey light of morning, she sneaks out leaving just her necklace behind.
Fast forward a month to Elle getting her parent’s B&B ready for Christmas, she’s living there with her stepmother and stepsister, neither of whom as particularly nice people (of course, now you can see what this story is based on 😉) and her stepbrother, who she’s never met, is also coming to visit.
Imagine Elle’s surprise when she answers the door to her stepbrother and discovers that it’s only her mysterious ‘Charming’. (Fancy that, eh?)
This was a really enjoyable Christmas story, with all the makings of a Hallmark Christmas Special. Channing is an absolute sweetheart with a dirty-talking gooey centre and a heart of gold, and he’s completely Team Elle. I also looooooved the ‘fairy godmothers’: the poker playing Fern, Fawn and Merry, they’re the matchmakers you want on your side.
I enjoyed this one so much that I’ll probably dip into a couple of the other books.
This was a cute Christmas novella. It not only had Christmas all about it but it also had a Cinderella vibe about it. I mean the B & B was even named The Glass Slipper!! But the tiny little town in Tennessee is named Mistletoe. So you can imagine that the town really does it big for Christmas. But throw it some stepbrother vibes and we got quite a few tropes in one book. And no small town is complete without the little old busy bodies that mean well but can sometimes go overboard. If you like holiday books and want some quick one's that will just get you through a couple of hours but put you in the holiday spirit this will definitely be one for you.

If you are looking for a Hallmark holiday romance but with spice in the first chapter then look no more! Elle meets Channing at a conference Halloween masquerade ball and one thing leads to another and things get heated. The next morning she leaves before he wakes up and moves on with her life trying to keep her late parents inn going. One night with “Charming” will have to be enough for her. Channing can’t get “Cinderella” out of his head. He decides to visit his mom and sister for the holidays and to finally meet his stepsister. I’m sure you can guess where this story is going!
I loved Elle and how strong she was and how determined she is to fight for her parents inn. Channing is a total sweetheart and is all in with Elle. These two had chemistry from the first chapter and I couldn’t wait for their happily ever after! If you are wanting a quick, sweet, and steamy holiday romance then this book is perfect!
There is no warm up; bang you are fully immersed in the story. Channing and Elle are strangers who share an amazing night, the kind where last names are not shared. Their paths cross again, and they act on their great chemistry. Channing is a great guy, a smart businessman, and an observer. He quickly figures out who is doing all the work at the Inn appropriately named The Glass Slipper.
If you are looking for a small town, complete with busybodies, holiday themed, with Cinderella feels, look no further than this book.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Midnight in Mistletoe by Breanna Lynn is book #3 in the Mistletoe Creek series. All are stand alones, but characters tend to reappear.
I really loved this book so much that I would give it 10 stars if I could. Breanna Lynn gives us a perfect modern rendition of the Cinderella fairy tale, complete with the evil stepmother and ridiculously entitled stepsister. Elle's Prince Charming is actually her stepbrother, although she doesn't know that when they have an amazing night together. Channing does more than reunite Elle with her Glass Slipper, he gives her the whole kit and kaboodle!
This is my favorite Christmas story so far this year! Enjoy this quick and wonderful read!
Another sweet short Christmas, winter story. Midnight in Mistletoe is Cinderella retelling.
Ella meets her Prince Charming at gala in Nashville. She lefts necklace with her mother’s ring behind. And some time later, back home in Mistletoe, Channing, her stepbrother, comes for a visit during Thanksgiving. And when Ella realizes Channing is her Prince Charming she knows she shouldn’t feel what she feels towards him. Channing is much different than his mother and sister, who are as bad as stepmother and stepsister in original Cinderella story.
In this story Ella and her family owns small inn, bed and breakfast and Ella has to work really hard to keep this place working…
The cast of characters is right on the mark. The storyline checks all the right boxes. The writing is clear and uses the English language correctly. So, why not more stars? Ella is pretty dumb. She flies home from college when her father dies to the stepmother and step sister, who hate her. Does she go to the reading of the will? Um, no. Does the long time family lawyer get in touch with her. Um, no. Does she ever look at the will? That would also be no. So she needs to get "rescued" by Charming, because she can't take care of her self. Very sad.
Ella took one night out of her life and indulged in a fairy tale, pretended to be Cinderella and spent the night with Prince Charming but left before he woke. One month later he shows up at the family’s bed and breakfast, the Glass Slipper, he is her stepbrother, Channing. He plans and spending the holiday, with his mother and sister.
She has thought of nothing but him since that night. She is really living the life of Cinderella, doing all the cleaning and cooking. What will happen when he realizes who she is?
Breanna Lynn has done it again! What a cute, heartwarming, fun Christmas novella! Seriously, Elle and Channing are the epitome of Cinderella and her Prince Charming, including the evil stepmother and stepsister. The forbidden aspect of their love story brings extra heat and their chemistry is off the charts. Such an incredibly well done tale of two incredible people finding true love and their happily ever after. See y'all on another page!
I love the stepbrother trope and the cinderella trope so this was right up my alley! It was really well written and I loved all the supporting characters. The crazy thing was them never meeting in 8yrs of being steps but it was explained right so it was believable and not clunky. I am really enjoying the whole Mistletoe Creek series and I hope I get more from the supporting characters with this author especially the best friends.
This was such a cute and fun Christmas novella! And one of the tropes this novella has is the Stepbrother trope and it is sooo good. Breanna definitely knows how to write it and the whole novella was sizzling.
This is a retelling of Cinderella and Prince Charming (Elle and Channing). They have an unforgettable night at a conference and after Channing arrives at the B&B Elle works in does Elle realize he is her "Prince Charming" from the conference. Channing knows there's something familiar about her.
Their romance has this forbidden sense that makes it really spicy and hot.
Elle and Channing do get their HEA and I really enjoyed reading these about these two!
In love with this fairytale retelling! It was the perfect representation of Cinderella while also being modern in the cute town of mistletoe. Elle and Channing were the pinnacle of most adorable cutest spiciest couple! Their connection was undeniable and could be felt through the words on the page. It really gave all the good warm feelings with a bit of anxiousness the holiday books we all love ❤️
A modern day fairy tale, Elle is Cinderella! for one night she’s gonna be hiding behind a masquerade mask and just be, she soon encounters her Princess charming but reveals nothing of themselves. Then as luck would have it he turns out to be her step brother. Here is where the drama ensues. A wonderful read with heat that kept me turning the pages till she received the happy ending she deserved. Mistletoe Creek is a great place.
A sweet, funny, light and spicy Christmas novella. It's a modern retelling of Cinderella with step-siblings thrown into the mix. Channing and Emma met at a masquerade ball, had great chemistry but no names were exchanged. A month later they realise that they're not really strangers. You'll fall in love with them from the start.
I was given a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is everything I love in a great small-town romance, plus Christmas! Small-town charm, quirky characters, well-meaning, interfering neighbors and mean girls you love to hate all make this Cinderella retelling shine.
Fall in love with Mistletoe Creek, TN, as Elle Thompson tries to save her parents' B&B while her Prince Charming searches for her and helps save the day. Sweet, funny, charming, and delightful, this wonderful romance will put even the worst Grinch in the Christmas spirit.
This is part of the Mistletoe Creek series and is a Cinderella type story. Elle is the stepdaughter who is constantly having to answer to her stepmother and stepsister after her father dies and the bed and breakfast goes to her stepmother. Her stepbrother comes to town and their story really begins. Their book is full of intense chemistry and many moments of fate stepping in. Their story is often sweet and also a bit taboo. This is a fun and perfect Christmas love story.
This was a good book. It was a modern-day type of cinderella story.. the nasty step mother amd step sister, but most importantly, the sexy stranger. The chemistry was out of this world, and the way he went out of his way to make sure the stepmother wasn't taking advantage of her. This is a definite must-read.
For Christmas, Breanna Lynn gives us a very cute Cinderella retelling. Complete with horrible step-mother and sister, 3 fairy god mothers and a Prince Charming, sorry, Channing. Mistletoe Creek gives a wonderful small town vibe perfect for the holidays celebrations, and, at the end of the book, I was ready to move there permanently.
A sizzlingly hot first chapter to set you up for this wonderful Christmas romance delight with a sort of a modern-day take on a fairy tale, this is a one-night, forbidden must-read to make all your romance fantasies come true, wonderful Channing and delightful Elle will still your heart and have you rushing to the Hallmark Channel for romance binge watch.
It was one night, no real names and the masks will stay on. No problem. Elle works for her stepmother at the Glass Slipper B&B, the last thing she has of her parents. When her step brother, Channing comes to town she realizes he was the Charming of her one Cinderella night. A fantastic read! While it's taboo, it's a perfect holiday romance! I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book when I read it. It really was a cute read. From the first chapter to the end I was rooting for Channing and Elle. They had chemistry with each other. When he realized who Elle really was I was so happy. I loved the way Santa gave her a gift and how it all played out. This was again a cute little read for me
I just adored this story. It's steamy in places, it's cute and sweet too. It has everything I look for in a romance. There's another in this series with a similar trope but this is far superior. This is only the second of Breanna's books I've read and I must read more as her writing is excellent in my opinion. Perfection!
