Ladies and Gentlemen – welcome back to Club Destiny. It’s been a while since we visited this gorgeous kinky corner of Texas and it’s so good to be back. Now, oh boy, do we have one sexy treat for you.
Let introduce to you the stars of the show. In the red corner we have Mr Xander Boone, real estate mogul, respected dom and brick shithouse of a man aaaaaaaaaand in the blue corner we have Mistress Merecedes Bryant, raven haired beauty, business woman and an established and experienced Domme. Yes. it’s Dom vs Domme and let me warn you, the chemistry here is going to get so explosive, it’s ready to go off like an atom bomb!
We begin with Xander having convinced Mercedes to sub for him for a demo of dominance and submission for Samantha and Logan who are looking for that certain something extra to add even more sizzle to their sex life. Having lost their third twice now, they’re looking to try something new and Xander thinks Logan’s natural dominance is what they should be exploiting and he’s deciding to give them a little demonstration into flogging a sub and demanding her submission only he’s chosen a sought after and well respected Domme, Mercedes, to sub for him for the night. Of course, the man has ulterior motives – he is genuinely seeking Mercedes’ submission and he knows that it won’t be willingly given up and will be hard fought.
Mercedes is a wonderfully strong heroine and more than a match for Xander. She perceives herself to be naturally dominant and likes and needs to stay in control over every aspect of her life, most especially her sex-life. BUT, she has reasons to need to stay in control and Xander sees something else in her and perceives her to be a natural submissive that she is hiding deep inside. Of course, Mercedes strongly disagrees and agrees to a five day trial period to submit to him with the agreement that he will allow her to top him twice. In public.
Of course what start out as a double dare to see who could top who is going to turn into something far deeper and much more emotional as Mercedes will find herself ever more confused by her role and Xander will find his need for her submission increasing exponentially as he is determined to prove to her that the connection they now share is real and lasting. It was never going to be a battle easily won and watch out for some seriously sexy scenes between these two which are seriously fucking hot!
Xander Boone – what a delicious tatted, pierced giant of a man. Ever since we first met him, I’ve been dying for his story. He’s built like a brick shithouse and is a commanding and experienced dom. Please excuse me while I melt into a submissive puddle at his feet. He’s been going through submissives pretty fast over the years and has never really formed an emotional connection to any of them but he’s seen something in Mercedes during their friendship of nearly a decade and he’s decided now’s the time and takes advantage of the situation that arises with Logan and Samantha to force her hand.
I so enjoyed this – it’s very much, as the title implies, about perception. Mostly about how Mercedes sees herself, her role in BDSM and how others, most especially, Xander see her. Xander is definitely seeing something in Mercedes that no one else has seen before and he knows he wants that! It’s absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious to watch their growing feelings as the five days of their agreement progress. Mercedes’ inner turmoil and confusion comes across loud and clear and Xander is infinitely patient with her and plays a crafty and skilful game with her.
There were some incredible scenes including the opening of Alluring Indulgence which was only briefly touched on and I feel sure is about to take centre stage in a Nicole Edwards novel in the immediate future. I can’t wait to see that scene retold! We get to catch up with all the guys and gals of Club Destiny and meet a few new interesting characters who definitely need to appear in stories of their own including very interesting new Brit.
So, it’s another sexy romp from Nicole Edwards who once again deftly combines super-charged white-hot sex scenes with an incredible and in-depth emotional love story. She’s one of my go-to authors for shit-hot erotic romance and she never disappoints.

There are some authors you drop everything you're doing / reading and immediately start the next book when it is out and Nicole Edwards is one of those authors for me. This is the 6th book in the Club Destiny series. Although I would HIGHLY recommend reading the whole series this can darn near stand on it's own. Xander Boone is one dominant man however when he sets his eyes on Mercedes their worlds collide - literally - because she is also a domme. How in the world will they get this relationship to work? Well, without giving too much away, it isn't easy. Perception includes a lot of steamy, panty dropping sex (like you would expect anything less from Nicole Edwards) but it also challenges these characters to discover what they really like and who they really are. Don't pass this one up!

made it to 70% and that was forced....
so i LOVE nicole edwards...i border on stalkerish with her. i've read almost everything she's written...extras on her website, fb/twitter posts, monthly newsletter, etc. my favorite books by her are ethan, travis, temptation and devotion.
i cannot tell you how much it pains me not to finish or like this book, but i can do neither. i made it to 70% but that was a chore and it seems all i did was text my friend who was reading it at the same time complaining about how much i didn't like this book.
part of the problem could be that i really don't care for bdsm books...i don't mind the occasional tying up or spanking or whatever but hard core bdsm with the whole master/slave, whipping BS i just don't like. that being said i have read a handful of bdsm books that i finished because the story was really that good. had this story been really good, i would have finished the bdsm not withstanding.
i just didn't like this story...when we were introduced to xander in devotion i didn't really care for him. i was disappointed in this because even if i don't like the characters or what they are doing i usually LOVE her writing.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed this but I had such high expectations that I think it tainted the experience for me. Although there was some interaction and mention of key characters in this series (Luke, Cole, Sierra, Logan, Sam, etc), I felt like this book really was not a part of this series. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I thought of it as a stand-alone novel, as I was constantly comparing it to the other books in this series. It was a good book, and I didn't want to put it down, but I never felt connected to or emotionally invested in this story at all. Perhaps it is time for the author to end this series, before it runs itself into the ground.

So many great things have been said about this book so I'll just focus my thoughts on the H/h. Once again Nicole Edwards has created two extremely wonderful characters in Xander and Mercedes. Their feelings for each other were so strong and passionate that it practically radiated out of my kindle. I was completely engaged in their love story.
Having said that I must admit I struggled with the Dom/sub part of the story. There were a few issues I just couldn't wrap my brain around and it frustrated me. (Note: I'm not being judgmental and feel to each his own.)
Regardless of parts that I stumbled through, Xander and Mercedes are definitely at the top of my list of favorite couples in this series. I loved how they worked through their issues as they challenged each other by being vulnerable and honest. Their HEA was perfect too.
Please don't throw food at me but I just have to rant about a specific character. Rant over.

I love Nicole Edwards. I have read all of her work so far. I have been waiting to read Xander's story. I am so happy to finally have gotten a chance to learn more about him. Fr some reason and I haven quite been able to put my finger on it. I just didn t connect to this story as much as I have with others. It was still a good book. I read it quickly. It kept my interest because I was lays wondering what was going to happen next. I kept waiting for something more to happen in the sex scenes. There was a few that were really good and I enjoyed a Lot ;). Over all a good story and I can't wait to read what comes next from Nicole.

4 X&M Steamy Stars!
I loved Xander and Mercedes relationship. They were friends for nine years before Xander decided he wanted more with her and acted on it. Because he is a dom and she is domme, it was a risk but he was willing to take it also sensing underneath her domme personality, he could get her to submit to him once he had her total trust.
Although I really liked Mercedes, Xander did it for me. He is total alpha and absolutely dominant and possessive but he is also sweet, considerate, attentive, supportive and above all loyal. I loved that once he set his sights on her he was completely and totally committed. He wanted no other woman even when they were in scene at their clubs. It was all about her and I found that to be golden. They had their challenges and she had her doubts but they worked everything through for the most part. There was a little misunderstanding towards the end just to add a little drama but everything worked out and they got their HAE.
All in all, this was a enjoyable read and I look forward to reading about the characters in this story.

3 1/2 stars. I couldn't get my head around Xander being anything less than a Dom. Some of the scenes just didn't work for me. I tried. I really do enjoy Nicole Edwards, but I guess this wasn't one of my faves.

This book was about Xander and Mercedes. Xander is a high powered, wealthy land or property developer who is all about power and control. He befriends Mercedes 10 yrs earlier and they become friends and business associates along with Shane who introduces them. They all have something in common, BDSM, Dom and Domme, until one day Xander challenges Mercedes to a bet she cannot turn down. He bets she cannot submit or be "his" for 5 days and in return, Xander will submit in public two times if she pulls it off.
There 10 yr friendship quickly morphs into a relationship and Mercedes has to deal with her past to so she can learn how to accept the future and who she really is. Xander was nothing like I expected from the last Club Destiny book, but I did like him and the chemistry between them. Nicole Edwards can write a book and a "steamy" scene. The one thing I did not like was Samantha and Logan. For whatever reason, Samantha gets on my nerves that she cannot be happy with just Logan. Even if she would agree to a consistent threesome like Luke, it never seems to be enough for her. We see a little Luke, Cole and Sierra who I love and I am loving Shane. He is in love with someone he can't have and I am not sure who that is, but I liked his character. We get glimpses of the others from Club Destiny and a little crossover of my Walker boys. Xander reminds me of Travis. Anyway, it was a quick read for a longer book, finished in a night. Enjoy.

Oh God. Nicole Edwards is one of my top three favorite authors of all time so when this book came up for pre-order I jumped all over it. It is also no surprise that I love the themes in Nic's books so this book is right on top of my list.
I loved Perception. It was HOT, sexy, naughty and down right sinful. I loved X and M together. They were truly each other's halves. It was nice to see a man fall in love first and relentlessly push the girl to make her realize her true feelings for X. Their chemistry was so hot, good Lord I thought my kindle was going to burst into flames.
Xander or my man X was so sexy. He was total alpha and sweetheart ask mixed into one. He was kind, considerate, and a total Dom to the max. He loved with everything he had and made sure M knew it. I also loved Mercedes or my girl M. She was sweet, sexy, bad ass but also vulnerable and unsure of herself. We really got to see her grow and figure out who she was. I just loved them together and can't wait to see glimpses of them in the future!
Now for the intro into the next book, we know it will be about Elijah. I personally can't wait for his book to see how it plays out. I'm keeping my lips sealed but I have some ideas on what I think she will do and I'm super excited for this possibilities to be reality!

I love reading Nicole Edwards books they are always well written and hot. Xander Boone has wanted Mercedes Bryant since the day he met her nine years earlier there is one problem Xander is a Dom and Mercedes is a Domme. This book a little slow in the beginning. This book was different, in a good way. So many books fall under the same storyline bad boy meets girl, girl goes out of her way to fix boy and they fall in love. This book was not your average love story. I fell in love with the idea of Xander and Mercedes. Xander comes up with a plan to get closer to her because he has been in love with her forever. He knows Mercedes is a submissive at heart so he challenges her to submit to him for five days. She agrees but has two conditions he must be her sub on the fifth day and then once again publicly her time and place. Her father did a number on her during her childhood and she swore she'd never let anyone control her that way again. But she comes to realize submitting to Xander is not nearly as bad as she expected. I loved reading this book and catching up on my favorite couples and Logan and Sam as well as Travis and the AI grand opening playing prominent roles in the story. New characters and storylines are introduced and set up, and I can't wait to see what Ms. Edwards' creative mind brings our way.

As always, Nicole doesn't disappoint. This was H-O-T! Xander I think has taken the #1 spot in book boyfriend land for me.....at least until Nicole writes something hotter, which for her seems to happen with each new book.
We meet Logan and Samantha again in this one, with Samantha exploring her
curiosity with the Dom/Submissive BDSM relationship. Xander enlists long time friend and secret obsession, Mercedes, to make the introductions and that day, that meeting, changes everything for everyone forever.
Mercedes is used to being in control, never letting anyone top her, so when Xander sparks feelings in her she was not prepared to handle, and proposes a five day arrangement that will test her limits, she finds out just who she really likes being in charge.
I loved this book, it was super sexy, lots of heat, some unexpected feelings and new found acceptance of self to this story that you come to expect and love from Nicole Edwards. She has a way of bringing the every thought and emotion of her characters to the paper that allows you to get to know your characters deeply, unlike many books you read that just scratch the surface. Dom vs Domme
Xander is one sexy mutha***a. From a tattoo at the 'v' of his pelvis and the nipple piercings. Hawt!
Its unique to read about a Dom who was really a submissive. Nice change of space. Though what took Xander so long to challenge Mercedes I would have like to know.
The way he reads her and brings her to embrace her submission was enjoyable to read.
I would of like to see more a scenes played out between them.
The Club Destiny crew catch up and updating on Logan and Sam threesome dilemma got me hungry for some more. THough I must say Ms. Edwards has been very good at having me on my tippy toes anticipating her next book.

Disappointed. And so disappointed that I feel this way about a Nicole Edwards book. I skimmed through the last 4-5 chapters...it was so boring to me. Xander and Mercedes lacked chemistry IMO and their relationship felt forced. I have never rated a Nicole Edwards this low, but if I'm being honest, I had a hard time getting through this one. Nothing happened in the entire 500 pages of the book. There was no conflict. It was just the telling of a story...the story could have been completed in 300 pages. And if I hear one more time that he weighs 275 pounds, ugh! I think it was mentioned five times! Anyway, hopefully her next book is better.

2 Disappointing Stars
My bff is hooked on this series. She absolutely loves it. So after she read it i borrowed her kindle cuz i was really excited after i read the blurb. But holly sugar what a fiasco this was for me. I was really looking forward to see some seriously power play between a DOM and a DOMINATRIX but what did i got: ABSOLUTELY-FUCKING-NOTHING. Yet again another woman who fucking hides behind being a submissive. REALLY BUT REALLY DISAPPOINTING.

I love all of Nicole Edwards books. But this book was something missing. I found it hard to connect with the two main characters.
Xander is hot alpha Dom and Mercedes is a strong female Domme. X knows M is a submissive at heart so he challenges her to submit to him for five days.
There were some hot sex scenes.

I have to say that while this was a great book it was not one of my favorite Nicole Edwards books. I do appreciate how she manages to capture the readers attention. Master X was hot, hot, hot!!! While Mistress M was hard headed and sexy as hell! So even though it isn't one of my favorites by this author it is still a damn good book and well worth the read.

Xander and Mercedes........an interesting dynamic considering Xander is a full on dominant and Mercedes a Domme. It makes for some serious contemplation on what they want from each other. A really interesting story which I enjoyed very much.

This took me a long time to read. I kept dipping back in and out which does say it didn't hold my interest as much as others in the series has. I liked the characters of Mercedes and Xander and I liked the bones of their story. I'm just never a big fan of reading about BDSM.

While I did enjoy this book and it was well written and edited, as Nicole Edwards books usually are, it wasn't one of my favourites in the series. The sex scenes are as hot as expected and the BDSM scenes are mild which she warns about at the start of the book. I just didn't connect with Xander and Mercedes for some reason.
With Xander I think it was because we didn't really get a good sense of his background. He's a mega property tycoon with millions/billions of dollars and his own private jet but we never really find out how he started with that. What was his first big investment? Where did he get the money for it? He use to play college football but what did he go to college to study? How did he get into the BDSM life? I just feel like I don't have a full picture of who he is?
The picture if Mercedes is similar, we're told about her business, we get snippets of her childhood and the background to why she became a Domme but we don't see how she discovered that was the life for her. Who introduced her to it? Did she just stumble across a club one day and decide to check it out? I'm also really disappointed that we don't really see her Domme side in action. We are repeatedly told she is this amazing, well respected and formidable Domme but we never actually see that. What makes her so good at it? Why was she so sought after? You get small flashes of this side of her but not enough to establish her reputation and unfortunately that means that the struggle she goes through to submit to Xander falls a bit flat. She has this huge internal conflict because she sees herself as a Domme but enjoys submitting to Xander but since we don't see enough of her Domme side it doesn't seem like such a big deal to embrace her submissive side. She repeatedly says that this is a massive turn around (although she says it's a complete 360 degree turn it should be a 180 degree - 360 degree takes her right round back to where she is, 180 degree takes her to the opposite of where she is!) but that struggle isn't felt by the reader and unfortunately since that is a big crux of the story it means that the story overall isn't as powerful as it should be.

It's been awhile since I read this series, and for some reason I had skipped over this book (I think I've read all the other books.) I finally picked this one up for a challenge (and gotta clean out that TBR!) It turned out to be my least favorite of the series. Xander Boone and Mercedes Bryant have been business acquaintances and then good friends for years. Xander has always been attraced to Mercedes, but he's a Dom and she's a Domme, so they'd never fit. But finally, Xander takes an opportunity to show Mercedes they just might work and things change for them both. I never really warmed up to Mercedes, and this is a long book, so I struggled through it.

Once I started reading it I was hooked. There was no stopping me till I got to the last page. I read this in one sitting. There was no putting it down no matter what.
The reading pace of this book was perfect, had a fast pace when needed and slowed down when needed. The story was amazing and the characters grab you. By the time you finish the book you want the characters to be your friends. You want to know them personally and experience what they do.
This book has got to be read. You will not be sorry.

Loved his book. Couldn't put it down. Xander has the hots for Mercedes for years but they are both dominant. He tricks her into surrendering to him but there is a catch. She get's to top him twice. I felt really sorry for Xander with the scene at Devotion where he had to play the submissive. It was really uncomfortable for him but he did it because he was an honorable man and agreed to it up front. HEA enjoyed by all. If I could have I would have given it 4.5 stars.

This is my kind of story! Love reading about Doms and Subs. Xander and Mercedes have been friends for a long time and they both are Doms. But Xander has been having feelings for Mercedes but never acted on it. He came up with an idea and proposed it to her. He just needed FIVE days. She thought it was ridiculous. But Xander can be very persuasive. What do you suppose he wants to accomplish in those 5 days. Hope Mercedes is ready. Very sexy scenes too!!!!!
