I loved the story the author came up with, but there's a lot of issues with this book. It was poorly delivered, the sentences were beyond awkward and came off as elementary writing. Someone said it was 'robotic' and I agree. I'm not going to go into detail, but the other 1-2-3 star ratings do, so I highly suggest you look at those. I usually overlook them, but- and i mean literally -the WHOLE thing was arranged poorly. I don't normally let the editing effect my rating, but such work does count towards it, especially when the entire book is nothing but run-on sentences and exceedingly long paragraphs. That might just be a personal peeve of mine, but when the paragraphs are pages long, one's mind tends to start wandering off. And the details- O.O There were either not enough to see inside the character or TOO MUCh that reiterated the same theme in every chapter.
I liked the general story because I love dragons and the thought of a dragon prince falling for a human is always fun to read about, but I didn't like the scenes (almost the whole book, basically). Cess was annoying and a hypocrite in what she thought was "right" and her actions, and she constantly thought about how HOT or SEXY the guys were. That's all she ever thought about, and when she did think of the brothers' own personalities, the detail was short-lived and shallow. And she's a college student! So why did she come off as such an immature whiner? Same goes for Draken. I liked him in the beginning but it quickly went downhill when all he did was have sex with one woman while lusting after Cess the human, have sex WITH Cess, "fall" for her, and then attempt suicide when she wasn't going to accept him. I didn't believe their "love" because to me, it came off as him only liking her because she was a challenge and a rare breed of peple who actually cocked him any kind of attitude. And most of their relationship was about sex! Can that really turn an anti-human prince all mushy? Don't answer that.
I wasn't endeared to them, and it bugs me that I'll never know if it's because the story wasn't delivered properly or because they were just annoying. It's free on Amazon so if you want to read it and don't care about how things are edited or presented, then go and read it. There's hot sex scenes (it started to get a little robotic though) and some reviewers actually said that it was almost insulting to women. I like dominating alphas, and all I have to say is that the guys weren't exactly delivering lovey-dovey advice. The dragon king basically told his son to do whatever she said and please her senseless, and then in the next scene, the prince is like "I'll love her, hearty love romantic stuff, blah blah." How the heck did he get all that sentimental stuff from the talk with his dad about 'physically pleasing his future girl'? Some transitions just didn't make sense to me.

Not happy!! was a heap of good reviews on amazon but really... Annoying arrogant pretentious asswipes both hero and heroine!! she did break up that ... winning personality combination with whiny cowardice :( So didn't like her, didn't like him, didn't like his brothers didn't like the whole "giver" set up. Kind of comes across as YA EMO crap mashed up with meaningless sex and so-so erotica.

Hot Dragons!!
And I mean real hot steamy Men.
I was so mesmerized by this book that I read the whole thing in one sitting!
I could feel the heat radiating off this man, man is Draken hot literally. He makes you melt while reading
They say that a woman makes the man, well Cess certainly made a man out of this Beast! She managed to tame the dragon with her mere presence and that is not an easy feat with Draken.
There is much action and plenty and I mean plenty of hot steamy passion between these 2, but that's all it takes to bring Draken to his knees, again literally.
I usually don't like non stop sex in a story, but the way Ms Barner writes it makes me look forward to it. I can't wait to read the the next book in this series and the one after that.
So if you want to read a good story with lots of great steamy passion that's very enjoyable, this is it.

I LOVE PARANORMAL ROMANCE !! And I love this book!! My favorite line in this book made me smile and it was a line I didn't expect!! "Draken, umm...I've got to pee. I usually have to pee when I get frightened." Love that like and it repeats in this story..and so does the hot sex!! Dragons...mmmm..love werewolves..now I love dragons.. And Solease gave us Nine Dragon- Draglen Brothers to drool over and one HOT Dragon Sister too..so I'm hoping she doesn't stop with Book Two Showken..I want more..Just like Cess (aka Princess) does once she meets the Real Draken.. Will the Dragon get the girl and live happy ever after??? Read and enjoy every second of finding out!! Hurry Solease with Book 2 please..I can't hardly wait to read it!

i don’t know what exactly it was about this book, but it was super (and i hate using this word but there’s no other way to say this that i can think of) cringe-y and at some points in the chapters that were written in Draken’s POV, it sounded like it was written in the second person which was odd

If you enjoyed the pulse pumping action in Secrets Of The Ghosts: The Sleeper then you are in fro a treat! DRAKEN is something rather different but your pulse is going to race just the same.
(Perhaps quiver is the better word)
This first installment of The Draglen Brothers Series focuses on Draken the eldest son to a Royal Dragon Shifter family. He is Heir tot he throne and the head of the Corporations the Draglen family oversees here on earth.
They (all of the brothers to which there are nine) are all tall, dark and dangerously handsome. Each containing within them their beast, the dragon which is their other self. Their truer form. Although mankind has dismissed the dragon as myth and child's fancy anyone who looks into their unearthly eyes for too long feels their predatory nature.
The newest problem to their treasure hoarding existence is Princess
(Cess for short as even she sees the insanity of that first name.. LOL )
She is a well to do human who has managed to turn the usually composed Draken's head.
At meeting one even as he marches her off the property the yearning to devour each other begins to consume them both.
Cess tries to resist... (a futile attempt at best) she has school, a scientific career a trip top Italy....
Draken too tries denying his urges, but in step his brothers who each call bullshit. They can sense and feel his desire for this girl. They make it their priority to get him what he really wants. Deciding her needs to get her out of his system, they'll only be around six months so what's the harm in some mind blowing sex.... Right???
(Yeah about that....)
The brother's manage to convince Cess to see Draken again. Apologizing for his being a total ass, and begging her to at least have a chat with him.
Well as you may have guessed, that conversation winds up going virtually as such....
(Nice Shoes.. wanna f*#k?)
Okay not exactly but you get my point. Now that the two have sealed the deal, with Draken working her over until she can't stand, their need for one another grows stronger. What's worse for them is that Draken's mother, The Queen, has had a vision that if Draken keeps Cess as his Giver, he will fall in love and marry her, as that is their law. That to not do so will result in death. For one or both of them, that it would bring a war upon their house.
Draken denies his love, even as his mind and beast tell him to go back to Cess. He stands his ground with some very unhappy parents, but goes back to Cess, just the same. Swearing it's a dalliance.... They are not convinced... Frankly neither is Draken... He continues to remark that she will be his downfall.
Over all this is fast paced, and erotically charged, demanding that you turn the pages, the relationships between the brothers and Cess and her won twin,lead TO SOME TRULY GUT WRENCHING MOMENTS as well. Give it a look and see for yourself!

The Brothers of "DRAKEN" were a great supporting cast in this story and they made me love them too. The fights, The sex, The love ,The magic and The Country of Cortamagen will leave you wanting more.
The Author pulls you into the story with her imagery because while reading this book I could to see all the scenes plain and clear as if I was watching a movie rather, than reading this awesome story. To know what you want in life. To know how your life will be. Then all of a sudden your perfect laid plans are blown up by a scent.. by a voice.. just by a look. Both Draken and Cess (Princess) thought they had a clear picture of what they were going to do with their life.
Cess thinks Draken is rude, obnoxious and bossy, and Draken doesn’t care what Cess thinks because he will not be having anything to do with her, Cess thinks she wont be having anything to do with the sex on the stick older brother. Well they both are in for a rude awakening.. or at least a awakening...
We have magic, we have sex.. we have sex magic.. hot, intense often and in dream state as well as real.(smiles). I loved all the brothers, they were just awesome you could almost feel the intensity of them all come to life. As old as life is, nothing ever stays the same. We have rules.. we have loop holes. We even have arranged marriages and short time relationships. Will it all come together?? Or will a dragon lay down its life for a love that can never be... Enjoy I Loved it! Cant wait for the next one~

Cess and her twin D are very rich. Cess is getting over a bad breakup and has sworn off men. When Draken and his brothers move in next door, she just goes to investigate. The brothers are very HOT and friendly but Draken rudely escorts her off the property and tells her not to return.
Unfortunately for both Cess and Draken, neither can get their minds off the other. Draken decides to use Cess as a "giver" for the 6 months he is going to be on Earth. Cess decides to use Draken as a one night stand.
Plans have a way of being changed, lol. Lots of twists as we are introduced to the culture and traditions of Draken's world.
Will Cess understand his true nature? Will she be a "giver"?
This book will capture you. It is hot and well written!

Well At the beginning I wasn't to sure If I would
like Draken with Cess , I thought matbe she belong
with Showken but I was wrong .. This is a first Dragon
shifter story for me and it was excellent read

This was a book I wanted to read since I heard about it. I was not disappointed at all. Draken was a jerk at the beginning. But then he was always thinking about Cess. I really like them together. And i love the dragon shifter aspect of the story very sexy. The story really drew me in, loved it. I can't wait for more of this series. A must read. :-)

This is my first time to read a dragon shifter story and I loved it! I love how Draken and Cess are so connected. The story line is captivating. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. I cannot wait to read more of the Draglen brothers. Great book!!!

This is the first book that I have read Solease. It was also the first dragon shifter book I have ever read. I am glad it was my first. I love the connection Cess had with Draken. The sex was even amazing. Made me want to go out and find my own dragon shifter. I am actually glad to have read about a female with money. Most books I read the woman is average and falls for a billionaire. So this was a nice change.
Cess - What can I say about her. She is strong. She comes from a family of money. She is in her final year of college. She loves to dance but is afraid to make it a career for her family's sake. She meets the new neighbor where Draken is not so friendly. But later find herself in his arms. The sex is OMG...She ended up finding out about Drakens secret. She is afraid. But she finds in herself that she is in love with him. When she finds out that he is about to kill himself she goes with Showken back to their home so stop him. She agrees to Marry him. But she is kidnapped by Draken's ex-fiance's mother. She uses the ring Draken gave her to protect her from the fire. But Velca helps saves her and Cess makes sure Draken does not punish her. In the end they have their weddings.
Draken - Damn he is yummy from the beginning to the end. He knows he has to stay away from Cess but he has this pull to her that he can't shake. He has become possessive of her. He even knocked Scott 15 feet in the air for a small touch. Which also brought Cess to know his secret. When he learns Cess might not be able to be with him he plans on killing himself. But to his amazement she shows up. He proposes she accepts. Once inside their room she is sleeping. Draken speaks with Showken and realizes that there is a dragon in their home. Draken turns around and Cess is gone. He goes in a rampage. Even his sister goes and saves them. When Cess is save Draken loves her forever.
My favorite part of the book is the part where Cess is next to Draken after Draken was hurt and she blows Showken a kiss and Draken watched Showken catch the kiss.
Solease Barner did a fantastic job. This is definitely a five star read.

So first off this was Fabulous. It starts right off with a bang,love when a book does that well worth the numb behind from not wanting to get up once started. Cess gets no more sleep because of noise from new neighbors moving in. 4 men and a bossy one giving orders and are they fine. I'll take them as neighbors they ever get bored in that neighborhood. She has goals so to get that gift the parents have promised. She also has a twin brother who is her best friend and of course girl friends just not a boyfriend. Not after the last bad relationship. Not in the goals not even. Hope her pencil has a eraser on it. So meeting the new neighbors seems to be going that is until bossy brother Draken is rude and snappy and orders her to get. Even though attracted no time for foolishness business is the reason for this move and business it needs to be. But there is one thing different from the rest of the neighbors, they are all dragons, each a representation of their dragon with gorgeous tattoos and their eyes ooh laaa la, and they are hot. Draken is also the prince and that comes with its own responsibilities. So now that I am thoroughly reeled in and enjoying the ride could not be happier. Insightful ways of life and other things concerning these dragons and the events that unfold in this story are wonderfully done and appealing. Personalities are stellar suffice to say Draken and Cess do get together and date and intense and hot is just mild way of saying about this relationship. Also funny how Draken keeps denying his feelings at first and guess who wins-love.Just one tiny teeny problem though-human she is greatly frowned upon and on tip of that marriage to another betrothed and have to be told not gonna happen. Part of the awesomeness of this is the weaving of the tale and right enlightenment at the right times. Her goals have changed direction by now and saving Draken is one of the goals that leads to marriage. With both their fierce personalities was the icing on the cake for this hot can you handle it story.

I think Draken is so used to getting everything he wants that he finds a challenge in Cess when she makes him work for things, "you owe me, Cess, and I want a dance. I hear from my brothers you can dance. Now I want a private viewing of your...skills." Also he's just really bossy, "you have such bravery about you, Cess. Yes, I want you to dance for me, and then I will dance for you; if you don't like it, then you may leave." He's also a possessive sort and doesn't do anything half way, "Cess, if you sleep with me tonight, you will sleep with me when I ask for the six months." Cess, she can turn a room upside down when pi**ed, "I...choose you? I did choose you, but you're engaged, and you still have not said you that other woman is. I guess cheating on me is what you guys do. I give my heart and you do me like Travis. D told me it was too soon, not to mention you are a dragon. This was an okay read some of the characters were memorable and I liked others were just I didn't think needed in the story.

The Draglen Brothers – Draken (BK 1) by Solease M Barner
I am a huge fan of dragon books but haven’t read any dragon books that involve this much erotic, steamy romance. It totally works for this story and the author did a great job with it.
The interaction between Cess and Draken was awesome. After a horrible first meeting it was amazing how the brother’s worked to get them together as the brother’s knew how much Cess meant to Draken. I loved how Cess was with her twin and didn’t want to leave him so Draken make sure it was possible for her to be able to get back to Earth from Cortamagen to see her family
The only problem I had with this story is I had to get used to how the dragon talked they seemed very proper at first and I wasn’t expecting that. In no time I didn’t even notice it as I was so engrossed in this story line.
I am now impatiently waiting for the next story in this series.

I finished reading Draken last night or should I say this morning around 2am my eyes were burning and I was tired as hell lol but my brain did not care it just wanted more and more. I loved Cess she was such strong beautiful educated and smart character. She didnt take any of Drakens crap lol. Draken was such a hot Alpha Male. I would love to have my own Real life Draken Please! This book was so well written it engaged your imagination and pulled you in making you feel apart of the story and allowing you to almost see it in your head. The secondary characters are awesome and I hope they all get their own books! I absolutely loved this book and can not wait for Snowken's story!!!! If you have not read this book seriously go get it NOW you will not be disappointed!! Thank you Author Solease M Barner for writing such a awesome story!!

I love the story, the universe and the characters. It drew me in so fast that I stayed up late finishing it. Super quick read, or at least it *could* be if...
CONS:
I had a really difficult time with the writing style and the poor editing. This book REALLY needs to be re-edited for continuity... probably more than once. It was distracting to have to try to work around the continuity issues. The character is doing something if the first half of the sentence and the 2nd half of the sentence says he is doing something totally different, as if an edit was inserted and the original was not removed or copy/pasted and rearranged incorrectly, but overall I loved the story. I also get the feeling that the book was written in another language and then google translated. The sentence structure is odd for American English.
Pay to get it re-edited, or let me edit it, but for the love of god get it done. You would sell more copies for sure.

Dragons. So this having been only my second series with Dragons being the paranormal species, I was very impressed. I loved the story idea, the male dragon characters we ideal and honestly hot. Now, because I really enjoyed the story, it kept me reading even though Cess, the female lead, was a spoiled conceited character. Redeeming herself towards the end for me, she just came off as blah for me. Draken, *sigh, the epitome of alpha males, just makes you hot all over.
The Draglen brothers are what keep this story going. They are funny, intense, romantic and just really enjoyable to read about. I would definitely continue to read more in this series and can’t wait for Showken’s story next!

Hot alpha's male with hot alpha brothers. I really liked this start of a series. Our heroine Cess meets Draken and his brothers who move in as neighbors on her street. Our hero isn't very friendly but gorgeous. There's a mystery twist that the boys are trying very hard to keep secret. Great story line.
Ok now here is what pee'd me off! Our heroine's constant reference and thoughts about having to pee. I'm hoping Draken is the only brother with a love interest with a bladder problem because it kind of took away from the mood whenever she said it. Especially when he wanted to make love and she said "I have to pee". Please Ms. Barner your stories a great but things like that are not cute after it's said once.

I am a huge fan of paranormal romance books. I was invited to the online release party and did not hesitate to attend. I was able to get the book for free and started reading it as soon as I downloaded it. I absolutely love the cover! This is the first book I have read on Dragon Shifters. Once I started reading, I could not put it down. From the first chapter to the end of the book, I was hooked. It is so well written that it kept my emotions on edge through out. Not to mention the sex scenes are hot, hot, hot. Oh and I need to mention, Draken is the oldest of the 10 siblings. 9 brothers and 1 sister. I cannot wait to read about the rest of these gorgeous siblings. A definite must read! <3

I happened upon this book by accident and am I ever glad I did. I was not disappointed at all.
Draken a sexy totally alpha dragon was a complete jerk at the beginning, but in his defense he had a lot on his shoulders trying to keep his sexy brothers out of trouble and run the family business. But once he saw Cess he couldn't get her out of his mind which only made his attitude worse.
I loved this book even though there were some editing issues. I immediately went looking for the next book. These are some hot sexy dragon shifters who you can't help but fall in love with!!

I used text to talk just to get through this book while I cleaned my house.... and enjoyed cleaning the toilet more than this book. It reads like a very dirty minded 13 year olds diary. The language was crude as if attempting to be erotic but it comes off as very juvenile and the characters leave me utterly frustrated. Chapter by chapter POV changes are obnoxious and hard to follow. I got this book free... but I still paid till to much. Not recommend for any audience.

Let's start off by saying this is my first Dragon-shifter book. I loved the story. Draken is very sexy. This book is for those that like frequent sex scenes. If you don't, they are still nicely written. ;) My favorite parts were the changing into dragon for, and the emotion part where Cess' brother, D, tells her no matter how far apart they are he will always be her brother. This was a very good read. I look forward to getting to know the other 8 hot Draglen brothers.

Nope, couldn't do it. That one is very firmly getting slammed into the DNF pile. I only made through 4 chapters before I had to give up. It read like English wasn't the author's first language or maybe it was a bad translation from another one. It felt like I was reading a book made from the demon love child of a badly dubbed Kunfu movie and Captain Kirk's last Star Trek script. Choppy and zero depth.

If you are looking for an action romance book I don't think this book will be for you. There isn't much "action" unless you're talking about sex then there's plenty of that. This is definitely a romance story. Great read only took me a couple of hours to finish it. I only have three stars because I was just hoping for a Lil bit more to it but not bad

This is the first dragon shifter book that I've read. WOW! HAWT!! Draken is one hot alpha male and Cess is the woman he wants. But can she accept him for what and who he is before it's too late. Well written and I was hooked from the start.
