Happiness IS a smexy new novella from Nicole Edwards getting released unexpectedly early on the weekend when there is no work on the horizon to rudely interrupt!
We first met Kane & Lucie waaaaay back in book two of the Club Destiny series, Temptation, when Lucie was caught red-handed stealing liquor from the club in order to pay for her daughter’s medical bills. We learnt that Kane was the father of her daughter but didn’t know it as he had completely forgotten their drunken tryst and the news is going to hit him hard.
Kane is absolutely the typical dominant, hypersexual alpha that we’ve come to love and to expect from Nicole Edwards. He kind of made me want to purr! He’s deeply shocked by his sudden entrance into parenthood but, being the guy he is, he steps up to the mark beautifully and tries to do the right thing by everyone, most especially his daughter.
He’s always had a thing for Lucie and she’s been captivated by him since the first moment by she saw him and is a little crushed that he could forget their one night so easily. With all this history behind them, moving forward isn’t going to be easy.
It would be easy to judge Lucie for her mistakes – concealing the paternity of her daughter and for stealing but as we get to know her. it’s easier to understand her strange decision making. She’s not had it easy and she’s a little lost and needs someone to look out for her – up until now, she’s been looking out for everyone else, never putting her own needs and desires first. She’s a little mixed up, all kinds of naive and I felt sorry for her and wanted her to open up to Kane.
Kane – well, he’s just a big ole growly alpha, just the way I like ‘em. He remembers his and Lucie’s drunken night together only in dreams but he’s been seriously attracted to her the whole time he’s known her and he wants to start things up again but knows that he has to tread cautiously. Finally, he decides to take action and we have scene after scene of delicious bedroom, shower, balcony action – plenty going on for a novella!!
So for a short story, this one really does suck you in and get you involved and invested in the characters and start willing for them to find their Happy Ever After. By the end, it feels almost like you’ve read a whole novel, there’s so much included and it’s classic Nicole Edwards erotica and, if you liked Club Destiny before, you’re definitely going to love this one.
Right at the end there’s a delicious teaser for Zane which, finally, lets us know what happened to him the day of the groundbreaking ceremony for Alluring Indulgence and absolutely whets our appetite for that book. I hope she’s writing fast!! Also there’s a hint of a surprise to come in the Club Destiny series – a surprise starring Luke, Sierra & Cole. Everyone’s favourite. Bring it on!!

If you ever wondered what happened to Kane and Lucie after all that drama you got to read Captivated. Who knew the yummy bartender had that side to him that could make you swoon. He has such a dirty mouth and you know I’m a sucker for a man who and can back up all that talk effortlessly. Kane was a rough gruff man, who wasn’t really good at expressing his feelings with words but boy did he know how to communicate with his body. In the end he proved to be a man worthy for Lucie and Haley. Although it was short and not so sweet ;) it was a great addition to the Club Destiny series.

Being with Kane was like being close to a wild, untamed animal... His firm demands and his rough touch spoke to a part of her that she hadn’t known existed. A part of her that ached for him; needed him.

Awww so glad we got to hear this story.
Lucie and Kane work at Club Destiny..Lucie is a bar maid and Kane is the bar manager. Lucie has always crushed on Kane but as far as she knew the feeling was never reciprocated. One night a long time ago, Kane was seriously drunk, Lucie helped him home where they had one night of passion..Lucie thought this was her chance to have a relationship with Kane but the next day Kane did not remember...Lucie would have a permanent reminder..their daughter!!
Lucie kept this secret to herself, but her daughter is always ill and needs help and she resorts to stealing to help fund the mounting medical bills..the only person that knows who the daddy is, is Cole. He tries to help Lucie as much as possible and tries to get her to tell Kane the truth.
This story focuses on the relationship between Lucie and Kane and their daughter Haley. Whilst I didn't agree with what Lucie did in the beginning I could understand why. I am so glad that Kane got to become dad to Haley and that they both got their HEA...even better with each other. Another great read from Nicole Edwards...too short but incredibly sweet.

I absolutely loved "Captivated" - in this book we got to know Kane and Lucie more (since they aren't major characters in the other Club Destiny series books). They really are a great couple. This book of course is filled with steamy love scenes, but that isn't a surprise since Nicole Edwards' books are ALL filled with steamy love scenes! As always Nicole did a fabulous job writing this book! I highly recommend the Club Destiny series as well as the Alluring Indulgence series! "Captivated" is a quick read and of course has a HEA. I loved getting the Prologue at the end of the book for the next book "Zane" in the Alluring Indulgence series and cannot wait for the book to come out! Also saw that Nicole has a "secret project" coming out later in 2013 with Luke, Sierra and Cole and cannot wait - I love those 3 characters and am eagerly waiting to see what comes next for them! If you have not read the Club Destiny books or "Kaleb" (which is the 1st book in the Alluring Indulgence series) I suggest you do so now - these are all fantastic books. I have read hundreds of books on my Kindle Fire and every single book Nicole has written have been favorites of mine!

I was shocked when I saw this up on Amazon, but don't be fooled ladies, this one is up and ready for your consumption. Another fabulous one by Nicole Edwards. It was a great novella that looked into the story of Lucie and Kane, while also giving us a peek at what is to come for our beloved Club Destiny. Nicole is doing a wonderful job at weaving together her two series, while keeping us all in suspense regarding our favorite characters. This is a must read. Plus at the end we get a sneak peek into the next installment of the Alluring Indulgence series with a small excerpt from Zane. Let me just say I can't wait for more!

Nicole yet again has given us a fantastic read. She keeps us starving to find out what will take place with all of our club destiny characters. If you have read any of her books you will immediately feel a draw to the characters, who become almost real to you. She brings us another steamy romance that has us sweating and wishing we were there. Nicole also give us a teaser into Zane's story. Thank you Nic. for providing those of us who have become addicted to your stories another wonderful novel. Thank you and I can't wait for the next one!

Every book Nicole has done has been great. Love this series! And I thought it was such a good story between Lucie & Kane. Loved that scene on the balcony in Hawaii! And looking forward to Zane's story & the whole Alluring Indulgence series the prologue at the end of captivated sounds really good already. Keep em coming! :)

Once again Nicole has blown me away! I loved the story of Kane and Lucie!! I am very excited to see what comes next for them, it seems Luke has big plans!!! Also, I can not wait to read more about Zane!!!!! The little tease at the end was not nearly enough to hold me over! And Luke, Sierra and Cole have a little surprise as well....very exciting news to me!! Can't wait for the next release!!!!!

Amazing as usual this was short but still packed a big punch I love the way the author makes you feel for these characters great story of a man who's life was turned upside down after a night he couldn't remeber he is faced with life chaging decisions and feelings this was an amzing end to kane and lucies story.I feel like part of the club destiny family. it was good...
It's been awhile since I've read this story so....I don't really remember much about the story, but I rated it with 3 stars so it must be good.
I'll probably read TEMPTATION next, and hopefully it's better than the first book coz the first book was kind of...boring.

Is that cover hot or what? Nicole and her crew know how to attrack attention and not a single one of her books lack cover appeal. Nicole is a favorite author of mine, she's a very talented author and I love her work.
Lucie and Kane have a past... but Kane doesn't exactly remember it. Lucie has a secret, one that she's kept from Kane for 5 years. When the time comes and she tells Kane they share a daughter, he's floored and more than a alittle pissed. He also realizes that those "dreams" he's had about Lucie aren't dreams at all but a night he wishes he could remember. After forgiving Lucie from keeping their daughter a secret from him, he soon realizes that he wants both girls in his life... permanently. He just has to convice Lucie. Little does he know that Lucie has loved him since that night 5 years ago. She just keeps her feelings to herself since she's convinced that Kane could never love her back after keeping such a secret. Little does she realize, Kane has plans on getting what he wants. The events of this book are juicy and steamy and I loved every single minute of reading it. This is a short Novella but it doesn't disappoint and keeps you glued to the pages until the very end. With lines throughout the book like these how could you not want more.....

"I need a shower," "It's down the hall," "Show me," "Turn on the water, Lucie," "Kane," "We can't run from this," "Do you want to run from me, Luckie?" - NOPE, pretty sure I my feet would be glued to the floor!

"Don't leave me," "Talk to me. Don't pull away from me, Lucie." - A guy that wants to talk too? I'd stay!
"If you make a sound, they'll hear you," - Not sure what I would do... ;)

Finally after hearing of the story between Lucie and Kane in the background of all the others, we get to read it for ourselves
The Story: Lucie lied to Kane, not telling him that he was the father of her daughter, or that anything even transpired between them. Now, she has finally told him the truth, and she's sure he wants nothing to do with her besides being in his daughter's life. Kane, on the other hand, has always liked Lucie, and despite being supremely pissed at her for keeping something like this from him, wants to make everything right, beginning with a family trip to Hawaii.
Narration: The Narration of this one was okay. Both characters did a good job of bringing the story to life. Lily's voice was slightly husky which brought a seductive edge to the story that I liked. Mark, too, did a good job.
Verdict: This is a novella, so it was short. In the past, Nicole filled her novellas with lots and lots of intimacy and sex but not much else. Thankfully, this one had more storyline, and I appreciated it. It was a good read. I think I will stop this series at this book. I'm just not interested enough in the characters in this or any of the other stories to care how they end up. I give it 3 stars.

Kane and Lucie make brief appearances in the prior books and I was always curious about what made Kane tick. Lucie was very endearing and while she thought she was doing what was right, I wanted to give her a big hug when sh$%t hit the fan. Secrets always seem to find a way to come out.
Kane and Lucie had a rocky start when Lucie kept a major secret from Kane for four years. Kane's reaction to the news was totally understandable and I really liked that Lucie took her lumps and accepted responsibility for the pain she caused.

I have no excuse why I stopped here when reading the Club Destiny series. I think it was because I binge read the series to begin with I was taking a break. But with Distraction coming out I knew it was time to catch up with the McCoys and their friends. You would think with a novella there wouldn't be as many sexy scenes or maybe just one or two. Oh, not with Kane and Lucie! These two are burning up the sheets and pretty much anywhere else in Captivated. Finally...finally these two get with the plan and figure out they are meant to be together. I have determined by now that Nicole Edwards is a sexpert with all of these bossy males taking care of business in so many different ways. Now onto Devotion so I can get this Club Destiny party marathon on!

Another great addition to this series. The title explains it all for me I was captivated by Kane & Lucie's story. I feel like a broken record because each one I read I say this is now my favorite. Every book in this series is my favorite. This story was a little different than the rest and I absolutely loved it. I am so glad that Kane & Lucie got their own book. It's hard not to fall in love with all the characters from Club Destiny.Each book is excellent in it's own right and I highly recommend this series. I can't wait to see what Nicole brings to this series with the next book A Secret Project I can't wait for more and summer seems so long away.

A quick fun and sexy read, I had read Kaleb book one in Alluring indulgence and loved it so I thought I would try this novella from the Club Destiny series and again was not disappointed. The sex scences were hot though now I know I should have stared from the beginning of this series so that I could get more of a back story from these characters. Will defeniately be adding this series to my tbr list and cannot wait to read Zane book two in Alluring Indulgence as we are treated to the prologue of his book at the end of Captivated.

Once again Nicole Edwards I am captivated by your writing. I can not get enough of Club Destiny!!! The men in your books are yummy and I am completely jealous of the women. Your books are easy to read and I don't want to put then down.

Loved it but then again I love all of your books, Nicole Edwards!!!! You tell such awesome stories and this one was no different!!! Can't wait for more!!!!
