"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

I really enjoyed this book. It combines all the things that I love in a story; romance, tension, suspense, friends that straight things out and and lots of very steaming hot encounters. The writing flows easily, and the temptation to just turn another page had me reading this in one sitting.

You will not be disappointed.

Now, please Ms Stanley may we have the next in the series ?

I enjoyed the first book in this series, and this one is even better. This is another story of opposites attracting. Julian and Richard are from opposite sides of the track, but there is immediate chemistry between them, and love develops. Unfortunately, Julian's past catches up to him and comes between him and Richard. There's a lot of background provided so I felt like I really knew the characters, and I was pulling for them to overcome their conflicts and get their happy ending. The secondary characters are intriguing. I'm hoping for a book about the mysterious St Clair.

I really liked this second book in The Gentlmen's Club series. The issue of a younger, less wealthy man falling for an older, well-off guy gave the story some extra tension which worked out well.

Julian's background is rough, but he has worked hard to make a good life for himself. Escaping it isn't easy, though. I thought it was interesting that he had a more difficult time with changing his attitude than improving his physical condition. Not being able to believe he has a chance almost costs him everything.

Richard has lost a lover and can't really believe he'll have another meaningful relationship in his life. Julian tempts him, but when fate, or rather some nasty guys from Julian's past, interferes, Richard almost gives up. I was yelling at him not to be so stupid.

I loved the twists and turns that made it difficult for these two to get the happy ending they deserved. Very nice!

This was a quick read about Julian and Richard. We met Richard in previous book Point of Beginning. Richard is part owner of the gentleman’s club that Julian started working at. Richard, who Julian has dubbed the Silver Fox, caught Julian’s eye from day one. Julian has never been one to back down from getting what he wants so he decides to chance this job just to get Richards attention. Richard lost the love of his life to cancer and thinks he will never find anyone else, until he sees Julian on one of his rare visits to the club. Julian doesn’t think he is Richard’s type, he thinks Richard is out of his league, little does he know but Richard likes his men a little rough around the edges and Julian is just his type. One hot moment in the parking lot can lead to Julian losing his job but it is worth it, in more ways than one. Find out what happens by reading this really hot little story!

Characters: for such a short book the characters were well written and easily likeable and
relatable.

Sex: so hot and steamy

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: yes

Genre: M/M/Romance

Would I read more by this author: yes

Some Like It Rough is the second in Gale Stanley’s The Gentlemen’s Club series and is an entertaining addition. In this offering, it is Richard Caldwell’s turn to find love after he helped bring the main characters in the first of the series together. Julian Decker has lusted after Richard, who he calls the Silver Fox, since he came to work at The Gentlemen’s Club, but he doesn’t think he would have a chance with the sophisticated older man. However, he soon learns that Richard likes his men a little on the rough side. However, Julian’s past life comes back to haunt him when he is implicated in a robbery.

Sometimes a book just affects me so profoundly that I have to create a new shelf for it. This one got its own 'Five star story that derailed' shelf. Seriously, what happened??

First, the good. Let's start with the cover. Perfection!!! Actually, I may need to create a 'Perfect covers' shelf for this book as well. The longer hair, the muscles, the ink, the older guy with the distinguished looks and grey hair. Yummm.

Then the characters. I really, REALLY liked Julian and Richard. I liked them individually and I liked them together. I liked them vertical and I liked them horizontal. I liked them clothed and I liked them...well you get the idea. I LOVED how Julian knew what he wanted sexually and how vocal he was about it. I LOVED how vulnerable Richard was and how he was willing to take a chance. Their sex scenes were HAWT. I'm not big on dirty talk in books but in this one it was yummmayyy. I LOVED how much Julian wanted Rich and wasn't afraid to show his hand by telling him. I LOVED how much he wanted to please him and take care of him. And I also liked that we were able to see how much Julian missed his deceased spouse, Tony, without enduring a million ill-placed flashbacks. All great, all well done.

There were a few issues that detracted from the book's awesomeness:

Julian calling Richard 'baby' about an hour after meeting him surprisingly didn't bother me, but the 50 million 'baby's after that did. It took away from the magic of it and just became redundant.

Rich wondering why Julian wanted to be with him was kind of silly. Come on Rich, how long have you had money? It would have made more sense for him to assume the worst right off the bat, and have Julian prove him wrong instead of having him act like a schoolgirl. "Why would he want me?" Umm, you're a billionaire and he parks cars. This isn't neuroscience. At the time, Rich didn't know Julian was genuine; the aforementioned should have been a knee jerk response, especially since they met at a gentleman's club.

The lack of protection because 'club employees are tested regularly' was kind of iffy.

Still, I was rolling with all of it, and at 50% the book was cruising to 5* status. Then 60% happened.

But yet, I still really enjoyed this book. It could have been so much more but it derailed and never got back on track.

These books (I call them my little red books) are one of my "guilty pleasures"!!! The authors may not be the next Hemmingway (thank goodness) so the stories are always entertaining, hold my attention (true, they are short... which works in their favor! *grin*) and they ALWAYS have a HEA!!! What's not to love!!!

As for this particular story... Richard and Julian are two men from very different backgrounds who are willing to fight for what they want... and now they want each other! Richard is dealing with the grief of losing his partner of twenty years to cancer, even after five years he hasn't found a reason to move on... until his eyes met Julian's, and then the self-doubt sets in! Older, wealthier man attracted to a younger man who is trying to better his life! There were some very well-written sex scenes... a bit of drama that almost tears them apart... and then, like I said earlier, an HEA!!! Yep... this was a Good Read! :D

Julian Decker is a bad boy who finally catches a break and gets a good job, a new apartment, and he even scores with the rich, older man he’s been lusting after. Then it all falls apart. The attraction between the men is so hot you might burn your fingers turning the pages, but you can see there’s more between them than sex. These two belong together. Another great story from one of my must-read authors.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Richard Caldwell knows a lot about life, love and loss. His partner, Tony, lost his battle with cancer five years ago and Richard can't find the strength in himself to really start living again. Yes, he's had a few short term romances, but nothing that broke his heart when the relationship ended.

Julian Decker is a man who has pulled himself up from nothing to man he's proud of. Life in the one of the run down sections of Philly wasn't always the easiest, but thankfully, he had the courage to do the right thing and stay off that the easy path that drugs tempted him with.

Now, working as a doorman at The Gentlemen's Club he's finally broken the cycle of poverty that seemed to weigh him down. However, something is missing in his life - and he thinks that something is Richard Caldwell.

Knowing that they run in two entirely different circles, Julian nonetheless takes a chance and hopes Richard takes him up on his offer.

Learning to love again is hard, but what's harder, is never taking the chance.

This was a very quick read. Insta-love and good sex scenes. Mostly sex so I'm not sure how they fell in love. It was some ridiculousness in the middle that was out of the blue. They got over that quick, got back to sexin' and then the book was over. I am going to look over the middle and not hold it against the author because I did like the sex scenes.

I enjoyed this book but not as much as I enjoyed the first book of the series. But that's probably because I have a soft spot for a shy, geeky, awkward MC. I hope there are more books coming out in the near future for this series.

This was not quite what I expected. The book is sorted as BDSM and certainly looks like erotica more than romance, but there is actually no BDSM in this. Nipple rings and some leather on one of the characters is about as hardcore as it gets. Even though some allegedly like it rough, that doesn't show in the sex content either, which is very moderate in amount, hotness and creativity

The thing is, the book still has the usual flaws of an erotic book. The characters are flat and lifeless, one-dimensional stereotypes with no depth instead of believable people.
Both Richard and Julian brood around a big part of the book about how they are too old or too poor and not attractive enough for the other party. It's insta-lust quickly followed by insta-love without spending much time at all talking and not a lot fucking either.
Then there is this super dramatic, unbelievable and rather pointless interruption in the last third of the book, I guess in an attempt to prolong the story when all the brooding is just not enough anymore.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I never used to be a big fan of novellas but the last few months authors like Gale Stanley have changed my mind. Gale is able to write a full story with less pages and it didn't feel rushed or like anything was left out.

Some like it Rough is very hot and I enjoyed reading about Julian and Richard, who come from different worlds and have a 13 year age gap. This story felt real to me.

I'm hoping there be more stories in this series.

Wow another fantastic book by this author I'm loving by the second. The guys are hot litterly a younger man dominant to the older is hot silver fox. Damn hot scenes with an incredible story. I'd love to read St. Clair's story as the matchmaking continues. I love this series.
Julian worked as a doorman at a The Gentleman Club and he fancied his co boss sexy silver fox Richard..
Richard's lover died 5 years ago and still he was alone, being a workaholic didnt help either not that he need to after he inherited from his father..
The meeting of their eyes when they introduced themselves the chemistry was a blazing heat.. The two combust together but it's not all rosy.  Highly recommend.

No condoms. Stupid drama after the kidnapping which ruined the book. Almost instant love like the first book in the series. Great sexual chemistry. Great opposites-attract characters.
