0.5 Seduced is the opening book of a new rock romance series by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott – and what a start!!
 photo bkpam2100851_empty-stage_zpswgbog6rs.jpg
Meet Gray, Nick, Simon, Deacon and Jazz!!!! Take a trip with them on their journey to finding fame and money!!!

Told from Simon, lead singer and Nick’s, lead guitarist POV’s, we get to see the difficulties of trying to get discovered and how 5 so different people deal with getting along with each other.
Egos, hopes, fears and all the secrets they keep from each other.

It was such a funny and sexy story with some endearing and some not so endearing characters that I am so looking forward to getting to know better!! One in particular, Jazz……jeez…after what happens with her in this book…where it will go to next I wonder!!!

This is definitely a series I am going to read …so totally!!! After all, it’s about rockstars!!!!

This is truly a series prequel that sets up each of the primary characters for their individual stories. It's also a full-length novel that sets the "stage" for how the band came to be and all the dynamics that led to their current professional status.

Quick Summary
The band is Oblivion and they live in a Los Angeles basement apartment beneath a laundromat. Nick Crandall is a guitarist, songwriter and the founder. Simon Kagan is the lead vocalist and a guitarist. Deacon McCoy is the bass guitarist and the de facto manager of the band. They're in need of a replacement drummer now that Snake is in court-mandated rehab. Enter Jasmine (Jazz) Edwards who more than fits the bill but comes with baggage called Grayson (Gray) Duffy.

The story
Nick's in a writing slump, Deacon and Simon know what the band needs to do and Nick's resistant (that's an understatement). Each of the members have their own vulnerabilities that impact them individually and the band as a unit. They've been together long enough that they know each other's hot buttons. When Jazz and Gray enter the picture, those issues become magnified and threaten to irreparably fracture the band and the relationships.

What worked
The story is told from Nick and Simon's points of view, alternating with each chapter. At first I found this disconcerting but as things progressed, it actually became one of the strengths of the story. I was impressed with how seamlessly the chapters transitioned to each character, providing texture to the situations and band.

I wasn't even certain I liked Nick or Simon until they started getting under my skin. Quinn and Elliott take the time to develop these characters, slowly peeling back those layers until you get to the heart of them.

I've never had this kind of insight into the inner workings of a struggling rock band and the minds of artists. It was a completely new, fresh experience...not always comfortable but always authentic to the characters. The writers know this world and if they didn't, their research was exceptional.

The bottom line
I'm now dying to get into the individual stories and continue the journey of the band. It was brilliant to begin the series this way as the next books won't need to belabor a lot of essential details about the band and the characters. This isn't a romance...yet...but beautifully tees up those romances to come. You'd be crazy to skip this. Loved it. 4.5 stars.

This prequel is maybe bigger than it should be, but with a unique narative factor. Mostly the story of the band Oblivion, before the stardom, told by Simon and Nick, it seriously adds to each character's background.

Oblivion: A rock band on the verge of destruction after the drummer went to rehab. Nick, Simon and Deacon are the remaining members living a rough life without much of a hope for sucess.. Something has to change..

Deacon is the mediator, the giant with a golden heart if you will, he had enough of Nick and Simon's foolish games and he wants for their band to move on.. he has a plan.. Simon is on his side on this one, he is crush, rude and an oversexed deviant but he understands that this can't go on..
Together they will try to make Nick say yes!

Nick, Nick, Nick! He is an asshole. Really he is. The band is together for almost ten years and he still acts like it's only his property. Well that changes though dramatically when two new members are coming to take their rightful places.

Jazz and Gray are a story on their own. He loves her, she isn'e ready, but together with the rest of the band they do wonders and that's the important thing at the moment..

THOUGHT ABOUT THE BOOK

- I liked this book a lot, but i couldn't connect with Simon.
- Nick was my favorite in spite of all..
- I liked Deacon, he was the voice of reason.
- Every character is deeply wounded and carries numerous issues..
- Jazz and Nick have an amazing chemistry..
- Jazz is great..

I have fallen in love and lust…HARD…with a rowdy, sexy, moody, dirty, talented group of guys who seem to be, well, Lost In Oblivion!!  Hmmm…*taps chin thoughtfully*…did I leave someone out??  Oh, riiiiight.  Oblivion’s sparkly little pixy of a female drummer who inspires burning-hot flames of jealousy within my heart!  Okay, okay.  Fine.  So, I like her, too.  How can I help it?!  She’s adorable, talented and able to twist each of the guys around her finger (er…and a few other verrrrry interesting positions) without even trying!  She’s, like, my hero!!

Seriously, though.  Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott, you have just launched my new favorite rocker series with this prequel, and what I want to know is, where the hell have the both of you been?!  I have wanted a rocker series like this for so long!  I’ve been longing for and dreaming of the day someone (or, in this case, two someones) would come along and write with this kind of detail and feeling about the inner-workings and behind-the-scenes chronicling of not only band and stage life, but the music world, as well.  Why?  Because it adds authenticity and depth.  I mean, don’t get me wrong.  Seduced is hot and dirty, and it will melt you into a puddle of girly goo.  I guarantee it!  For me, though, the hot-and-dirty alone isn’t quite enough.  That’s the reason I’m positively giddy about this full-length prequel and the mere *thought* of the rest of the books in this series.  Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott are giving me the best of both worlds with the Lost In Oblivion series!  THIS is what I’ve been waiting for, and now I have it!!

So, before I started reading, I was thinking, huh, this is a full-length prequel.  What the heck kind of story do I get in a full-length prequel?!  Oh, me of little faith!  I think Cari and Taryn said it best at the beginning of Seduced, when introducing the story.  They said that this book is the love story of the band Oblivion.  Actually, that’s exactly what it is.  Like any good love story, Seduced set out to make certain that I met the main characters, learned a bit about each of their personal backstories, came to understand their (group) history and dynamics (from both Nick’s and Simon’s points of view, which I LOVED!), and, maybe most importantly, had the opportunity to watch them struggle to decide if it was worth it to keep trying, keep fighting, for something they loved.  Seduced made sure that, by the end, I was fully invested in each of the characters, the band as a whole, and where the series was going to take me next.  Really, this book is aptly named as it definitely seduced me.

One of the things that has me so excited for this series is something I relayed to one of the authors, and it bears repeating.  Oftentimes, in a series with multiple characters, each to have his or her own book, it’s the brutal truth that I can lose interest if I’m unable to connect with one of more of those characters.  That is SO not the case with this series!!  Each band member is equally fascinating and has a story to tell.  Truthfully, I cannot wait for every single book!  Deacon’s story is up first with Rocked, which Cari and Taryn expect to have released in September of this year.  Deacon is sort of this gentle giant, a peacemaker, and an incredible bass player and song writer.  He also has a strong will, a great mind for business, and a commanding presence.  But…I can feel there’s even more to him, and I am so, SO, looking forward to his story.  After that, the authors are hoping to get Gray’s story, Twisted, out before the new year, followed by Simon’s and Nick’s stories in spring and summer of 2014.  The good news?  As each book focuses on a different band member, there won’t be any worrying about cliffhangers!!

Trust me when I tell you, Seduced is a book, and Lost In Oblivion is a series, which you  absolutely should not pass by!  If you love super-hot, super-sexy rocker books and you’re fascinated by glimpses inside the music business, you will LOVE this new series!!  Buy it.  Read it.  Recommend it.  And then, if you would, leave a short review for Cari and Taryn.  It helps them, and it helps our fellow readers, too.

Currently Free together with book 1 and novella 1.5 on Amazon -> http://amzn.to/1Tm8QTx

This book will catch you by surprise and highjack your attention with its beautifully expressive prose, charismatic characters, appealing plot and sexy passages.

I bought this book after reading Rocked, Lost in Oblivion’s first book in the series thinking it would be great to know more about a group of characters I found eclectic and interesting. But at the same time I had other reading commitments that delayed being able to read this book. I wish I had read it right away, or better yet read them in order, because now I know I would have enjoyed and understood a lot of situations fuller.

Since I can’t unread or unknow things, I can only urge you to not make my mistake. These books are fabulous and are more thoroughly relished when read in the correct sequence. I still got so much more than what I bargained for, because I was thinking this would be something along the lines of a novella or short, but I would consider this a full length piece.

Told from Simon (Oblivion’s lead singer) and Nick’s (lead guitarist) alternating points of view. We not only get to see how this band of five misfits got together and found fame through their cohesion in music but we also get to better know the two men that started it all. Their fears, secrets and hopes and how they coped with it all.
“Gray’s seamless transitions made for a soulful energy under the gnashing power of Nick’s guitar… pure liquid silver. Incredible. Simon’s smoother tones over Gray’s inconsistent constancy blended into a new kind of magic altogether… this needed Deak’s growling voice to be in the forefront... The sex and sin-filled lyrics were made for Deacon’s deep voice.”

It was funny, sexy, sweet and touching to see how Jazz fit in this testosterone fueled group.
“She belonged to all of them. She was a sister, a confidante, a partner and a playmate in the grand scheme of the band. Somehow the pixie-sized woman made Oblivion work.”

And in the end Taryn and Cari brilliantly put together all the elements that made a book great and left me wanting more.
“They were going to have to come up with a name for the soap opera this shit was becoming. As the Oblivion Turns? Nope—pretentious. Days of Oblivion? No…wait. Lost in Oblivion. That had a certain ring to it.”

I really thought I would love this book, I've read quite a few of Cari Quinn's other books and always enjoyed them and you only have to look at all the 5 star reviews for this one to think you're in for a good story.

Unfortunately Seduced just isn't for me. I've tried so, so hard to finish it but I keep having to force myself to pick it up so there really isn't any point in me carrying on.

I found all of the characters incredibly selfish and dislikeable. All they really care about is getting off their faces and seeing how many women they can screw. I'm sure some bands are like that but I really hope they all aren't! They're not even good friends with each other and spend most of their time fighting or complaining about how shit everything is.

I don't like any of them and quite frankly I really couldn't care less what happens to them. I'm not even interested enough to skim read to the end.

You only have to look at all the other reviews to see I'm in the minority here though so don't let my opinion put you off if this is a book you're interested in trying. Hopefully you'll enjoy it much more than I did!

A 2.5 STAR ( GoodReads rating )

I love writing reviews, seeing all the overwhelming 5 star at Amazon, and here I am with my 3.5 star review, I can't help feeling a bit challenged. For several days now I have been attempting to post a review but always chickens out at the last minute. I hate to stick out as the "only one" to give a less than 5 star rating everyone generously gave. ( I guess that's what an arc does to some reviewers, somehow feel obligated )

From the very start you get a glimpse of the waning friendship between Nick, Simon and Deacon, they are at wits end especially Nick who seem to be having a complex writer's block. At each others throat, each one is ready to blame and hurl accusations toward one another on who's going behind who's back. The one sure thing they have in common is drugs, alcohol and having sex with one and the same woman at the same time. When they are not doing that they are bickering or are in fisticuffs trying to beat the hell out of each other.

Lacking focus and ideas after losing their drummer to rehab, on Deacon's idea, they took in "two someone new"...Jazz, the feisty purple outfitted pixie and sprite drummer and guitarist bassist with complex personality Gray, made up the new dwindling band.

With the two new band members I started to hope the mood would start to pick up and lighten up, sadly, it turned even more somber and depressing. All these characters are of loose morals, sex and booze is all they can think about. Simon is almost always on the lookout for a woman to sex up, that or get 3 sheets to the wind, drunk to oblivion. One can't help thinking this book is trying to say this is what a band is all about...sex, dirty sex, drugs, alcohol and more drugs. To say this is a shining 5 star worth, oh Puh-leeasse, give me a break!

*** STOP HERE, THIS MAYBE A SPOILER TO YOU **

Nick, Jazz and Gray having a menage a trois was done that would leave you feeling icky, it's like being in the same room with two people shamelessly doing the dirty leaving you wanting to take a shower to feel clean again. To some this maybe hot, to me it's a complete turn off, the entire scene was quite daunting. I wanted Nick and Jazz's relationship to fully develop, I don't get why Gray has not said how he feels for Jazz or had acted upon how he felt for her when they have been together for a very long time ( He abandoned his own family to be with her ) To walk in and join Nick and Jazz while they were in their most intimate moment and have sex with them, the whole scene borders on being obscene and disconcerting!

To sum it up, this is the story of a fledgling band and all their folly's with low morale, loves to be smashed and stoned, who are down on their luck waiting for that one big break...and that's what they got...that one lucky break!

This was told from Nick and Simon's POV, the next 4 or 5 books will revolve around them, the 2nd book will feature Deacon and since they live together and are always around each other, then it's safe to assume it'll be more of the same. The writing is quite good, a real 2.5 star worth, not any less, definitely not any more.

Seduced is a great opening act to this series . . . a full-length prequel that introduces readers to all the players, along with the guitar cases they tote - all overflowing with emotional baggage. Oblivion is a rock band in turmoil - living in a run down apartment under a laundromat - adrift and in danger of crashing & burning out. The magic is gone, and the words just won't come as in-fighting & the loss of their drummer to drug rehab is threatening the solidarity of the band. In a last ditch effort to turn things around, Deacon suggests bringing in another drummer and guitar player extraordinaire - Jazz (a spunky, sparkly, drum playing chick) and her "friend" Grayson (who can smoke the strings off a guitar). But, not all the original players are open to bringing in outsiders - plus a chick in a band is just asking for trouble, right? Tension is high, tempers flare, jealousy raises its ugly head, and the band is close to imploding. Success in the rock world is illusive - so close & yet so far away. The guys of Oblivion can see it, taste it, smell it . . . but can they grab it & hold on? Are Jazz & Gray the creative spark they are missing? Or will they be the straw that finally breaks the guitar strings?

Seduced is told through the alternating pov's of Simon and Nick. At first, I felt a little like a leaf blowing in the wind, hoping to land on one pov or the other. However, the transition between them soon began to flow smoothly, and I found being inside the minds of both guys added an emotional connection & sense of urgency that might have been missing otherwise. All of the characters have strengths & weaknesses that are revealed as their vulnerabilities are exposed & exploited. Everything from passion to unrequited love to jealousy to resentment to guilt to addiction (to more than drugs) are evident as this story plays out.

Seduced is a great introduction to this series as it familiarizes readers with each of the characters, including their hopes & dreams, wants & needs, and desires & vulnerabilities. Beyond that, it's also a great read with lots of smokin' hot sex, drama, and heartache. And then there's the music, carrying & moving the story forward on a melody, relaying in lyrics what some can't find the courage to say any other way - it's all there in the words of their songs. Seduced is as essential to this series as each of these characters are to the band. What an awesome "opening act"! A Must Read!

DNF. I am not going to rate this since I didn't finish, but I had so many issues that there was no way I could keep going. These were the worst "group" of friends I've ever read. They never anything other than awful to each other and I just don't want to spend my time reading about a group of narcissistic and ego maniacal assholes.

This book will knock your socks off! I drank this book down faster than a tequila slammer. Remember the best rock concert you ever went to? And how you felt the next day? That's how I felt when I finished Seduced, exhausted, satisfied and ramped that I just took one hell of a ride. We all dream about being rockstars as kids, well this is your chance to live and breathe it - and of course it's not all sprinkles and roses like many of us dream it would be. It's gritty, edgy, sexy, twisted, outrageous, funny and most of all leaves you wanting more.

Which just as well there are four more books in this series.

With any multi-character stories it's always hard finding balance and the chance to make each character shine in their own right but this book does just that. It avoids the common cliches you might think you have about the industry as well and has a very contemporary feel about it. You can tell these two authors are music fanatics, no one can write concert scenes this vividly where you hear the beat and smell the sweat right off the pages.

Simon, Nick, Deacon, Grey & Jazz come to life and bring so much promise and there isn't anywhere these two authors aren't prepared to go. Give it a try, I promise you that you won't be disappointed and you'll come out wanting more.

Already a huge fan of Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott as individuals, I was overly excited when I heard they were writing together. Add in the fact that their subjects would be rock stars with a hint of bad, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and when I did, I couldn't put it down.

I was fortunate enough to read an ARC copy and I can wholeheartedly say, you gals did not disappoint. Seduced (Lost In Oblivion) had everything I could have wanted. Okay, sooo, I’m fibbing... I always want more.
I can count on my hands the number of books that have transformed me into their pages and made me feel as if I was right there in the story. This is definitely one of them. Whether it was rehearsing in a laundromat, performing up on stage or backstage in a closet, I felt it, ALL of it.

As you know, I am Team Nick Crandall. His big heart and sense of gallantry. Okay...okay, his twisted sense of bad boy too, had me falling head over heels in lust for him, but I look forward to reading about all the boys and girl of Oblivion.

For those of you who a love for bad boys with a good heart, trust me you’ll want to read this book. You won't be disappointed.

Seduced is the full-length prequel to the Lost in Oblivion series. A series centered around the sexy and talented rock band, Oblivion and it's five members. But in Seduced, this band hasn't reached their fame yet and with their drummer in rehab, their singer loosing himself in alcohol and women, and their guitarist and song writer struggling with his own inner demons, spirits are down and tempers are high. Deacon, the pacifier of the group and bassist, is not going to stand for failure though. Risking upsetting their temperamental guitarist Nick, he introduces two new members; the brooding Gray and pixie-like Jazz. Is this the beginning of the end for Oblivion, or is it the beginning of something amazing?

Gray, Nick, Jazz, oh my! Seduced is a full and poignant story that introduces readers to Oblivion beautifully. Gritty, raw and unique, you'll be so wrapped up in the story that you'll feel as if you are standing in the middle of it all!

Seduced sets the stage for the entire series and it looks like it's going to be one hell of a ride! It was a bit slow to start but a few chapters in the pace and the energy really picked up. Bursting with insecurities, fears, lust and jealousies; if you're looking for pretty, privileged rock stars then this is not the story for you. Oblivion is sexy and intense and real. The dynamics of the group is filled with drama and I can't wait to peel back the many layers of each member in their own books! It will be interesting to see how they adapt to fame and fortune.

With the multi-character point of views you get to see the story from mostly Nick and Simons view, which I loved because you see the inner workings of these characters and how they interact outside. The transaction between characters flowed well at times, while other times it was a bit bumpy, but it never distracted from the story. I also applaud the authors for their note at the beginning of the book so there are no surprises for readers. I wish a lot more authors would do this. I'm looking forward to more from this duo and their intriguing cast of characters! Especially the triangle of Jazz, Gray and Nick...I must know how that turns out!

A fresh and gritty view of rock bands… Oblivion is not at the pinnacle of their fame. When we meet them, they’re not falling or even rising stars. Matter of fact, they’re on the verge of meltdown and collapse.

Co-authors Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn have let us slip inside the band’s crowded and stuffy basement apartment, and inside their heads. They’re not cocky, not larger-than-life… the guys we meet are talented, driven, broke, and a little bit broken. Sex is their religion and their steam valve, their drummer’s in a forced stint of rehab, and their collective muse has taken off for better digs.

I liked them immediately.

Written with an obvious love for musicians and music, and the knowledge of how to make a character (and the scenery) real right out of the gate, this author-duo grabs you by the ears and just doesn’t let go.

I’m happy to say there’s no cliffy (holy motherlovin’ YAY!)… this series will be a good old fashioned boxed-set where each bandmate gets to tell their story their own way, in their own individual books. Type faster, Cari and Taryn, I need MORE.

When I saw the offering of reading this book as an arc for a blog tour, I was immediately excited to read this book. I'm definitely a sucker for NA Rock Romances. It's a complete shame that I ended up having to contact the host due to the fact that I could not review this book in a manner that would make it appropriate for a tour.

I'm actually fairly confused by all the high ratings on this book. I feel like I must have read something completely different than all these five stars. I mean, this really wasn't even a romance, to me it seemed more like a "lets gang bang the drummer" kind of book.

Okay, now I understand that this book does have a disclaimer saying it's for audiences above 18 due to drug use and graphic sex, but it also says it's NA. Now I know that NA books often have sex and drug use, but this is extreme. Extreme to the point where I honestly think whoever dubbed this book NA has a completely different understanding of what NA is than I do. From everything I've read, it's a coming of age kind of deal, yes.. when you're coming of age, you may have sex or use drugs, but this honestly was more along the lines of erotica. Creepy Erotica. Maybe I was a sheltered new adult, but seriously? Threesomes with two band mates? That left a disgusting slimy feel to me.

Frankly, this book is exactly the opposite of what I expected. Yes, I love a good rock romance, but this focused a lot more on the music than the romance, and as I'm not a big fan of music, I was left bored often. I really couldn't care less about this fictional band or it's members. I found them all one dimensional. Sex. Sex. Sex. It's really hard to relate to a character when they have nothing really to relate to.

One of the most frustrating parts of the story is the changes in point of view. Although I do like changes in point of view under normal circumstances, it seemed as if the wrong people were chosen for their points of view. Simon really didn't add much to the story, all of his chapters seemed fairly useless. I feel that it would have been a lot better to have had the second point of view be Deacon, because his feelings really seemed to come out of no where. I feel that it would have been more effective to have the basis of the story be around the love interest, and the two men that want her. It just makes more sense than this outside source having his point of view being told every other chapter.

Also, this is an introduction to the series, which really brings to mind why nothing really happens in the love interest, but it seems so drawn out and boring in spots. I feel that this prequel should have been a bit shorter. Cut out all that dead area and really give the readers the introductions that they need, and not so much extra that really doesn't seem like it would fit. If nothing else, even not adding a different point of view, I'd say at least just cut out Simon, and the book would have been an appropriate length and a lot of that dead weight would have been removed.

Overall, I feel that I'm being fairly generous with my 2. The writing was solid and it was edited okay, so I couldn't feel justified taking it all the way down to a one, but in all actuality, I really didn't care for the book at all.

Note: I received a free copy of this book for honest review.

Meet Nick Crandall, Simon Kagan, Deacon McCoy, Grayson Duffy and Jasmine 'Jazz' Edwards. Members of the hottest rockband in romanceland! If you're looking for the next great rockstar romance series, look no further! When I just finished the book I had no words to express how much I loved this book. All I could say was: GO BUY this book. Don't walk, RUN!! Now that I’ve had a few days to mull it over I have come up with a seemingly coherent review.

I beyond loved the band and everything to do with them. SEDUCED is a perfect mix of music, sex and emotions with characters you'll adore from the moment you meet them!
The dynamics between the band members and the different roles and issues they had. I loved the gritty feel of the book, I loved the dialogues, banter and even the arguments between the characters I loved the hints and tidbits about all the characters that made me want to know more about their back-stories and above all I loved the romance parts with frank and dirty, dirty sexy written all over them.

Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn rocked (see what I did there) this start of a new co-written series! Separately they already wrote awesome books but together they are a force to be reckoned with and they blew this one out of the water! Even though this was just a prequel-ish introductory book, it was as satisfying to me as if it had been a standalone romance with a HEA. I can't wait to see how storylines set up in this first book will be played out in the ones to come.

Lost in Oblivion-fan for life!!!

Favorite Scenes:
- Nick and Jazz after the first gig > Combustibly hot!
- the fight in the basement appartment > breathtaking!
- Simon and Margo at the studio > hot doesn't even begin to describe it

Favorite Quotes:
“Excuse me for being more selective than you manwhores. Both of you would drill a tree trunk if the hole was big enough.” Deacon saluted them with his bottle. “And in both your cases, it could be a pretty small hole.”

“This doesn’t stop with a kiss, Violin Girl.”
“Margo,” she said on an uneven breath. “If we do this, you better know my name.”
“Margo,” he [Simon] agreed. No he wouldn’t forget her name. Ever. Then his mouth was on hers again. They both fought for dominance, but he couldn’t settle back an let her take control. This wasn’t his usual roll for fun and distraction. He couldn’t sit back and let whatever happened happen.
Her taste infected him like a lyric that needed to be absorbed and understood. A lyric that would burrow into his brain for years. Like “The Becoming”, he needed to understand and devour her until everything was clear.

A little bit slow to start but I'm glad I persevered as I ended up totally enjoying this book. I loved all the characters in Oblivion, you were introduced to them in a very subtle way so you think you know them and what they are about and then all of a sudden your initial opinion was turned on it's head - I love when that happens!

All the characters are very complex and all appear to have hidden depths, but not in an obvious, 'I saw that coming' way. Even though the story is about a rock band with 4 guys and a girl, I love that the storyline has a softer side and shows how they deal with their feelings in different ways. I especially appreciated that Jazz, the female drummer was feisty and gave as good as she got, It would have been so easy to portray her as just the 'love interest' but as a character she is so much more - a hard edge beneath her girly pinky purple persona!

I think Nick is my favourite character so far as he is such a contradiction and I found the difference between his 'inner dialogue' and his outward behaviour really fascinating. Also as the main(ish) focus of the book you were given more insight into him than the other bandmates. Out of all the characters Deacon was the only complete mystery as he was very much a closed book, but as he is the focus of the next book I'm guessing this was intentional.

If you like a bit of rock god romance then you cannot go far wrong by reading this, I for one cannot wait for the next books in the series!

So far, this has been a bit disappointing. There have been some serious misspellings/grammatical errors (has took). Characters feel stereotypical (early 20s band mates who do nothing but use, drink, and have sex). It feels more like Almost Famous era than now.

This would have been a DNF for me except I am reviewing the next book in the series and wanted to get the background so I would know what I needed to know going in.

Serious manwhores, Simon and Nick, are just not good people really. The worst part is that we get Simon's and Nick's points of view and I feel like I still know nothing about them after all that. Yeah, yeah, shitty childhoods, staple of this genre, but nothing solid, nothing real.

I know more about Gray and Jazz.

Here's hoping Deacon has a more solid book than this.

I loved this beginning book to the Lost in Oblivion series!
It details how they lost one member through drugs, but replaced him with two fantastic artists that really brought the creative aspects of the band together and finally gave them a real shot at success. They are young and somewhat immature at times. There is some mystery to the guitarist, Grey. He is the quietest member of the team and seems to have had classical musical training. Time and another book or two will fill in his past. Most of the others had really rough starts in life, but they end this book a success. Reading on ....

I love love love the Oblivion boys (and girl). I highly recommend reading this prequel before starting the series as it gives a lot of insight into the next book.

You don't need to be a rock or music aficionado to enjoy the Lost In Oblivion series. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott write about a world that I know nothing about yet they never made me feel stupid and I never felt like scratching my head and saying 'huh?' In fact I think I have a new appreciation for musicians :)

Do yourself a favor and red this book. Then go and read the next one and the next one. I certainly can't wait to read Twisted.

I didn't realize this story was a prequel when I started to read it. The story takes us through the time before the band took off. It is the characters that really drag the reader in. They're not good and they're not bad, but are shown warts and all. The end is a bit abrupt with only some of the story ends tied up, but now that I know this story is a prequel that makes a bit more sense.

I look forward to reading more of this series.

I wanted this book to be good because I was dying to read "Rocked". It wasn't. It bored me to tears. However I am going to give "rocked" ago.

Seduced--And it certainly did! (Possible Spoilers)

This book was very well-written. There were a few minor typos, but they didn't effect the reading. (I know there are people out there like me, for whom typos can destroy the reading experience...so...there ya go.) I know absolutely nothing about struggling bands cum rockstars, so I can't speak to actual "realism" in the story, but it felt like this was/could've been very real. The characters seemed very real...they had real drama and real issues. ( Can somebody give me another word besides "real"? I'm starting to get on my own nerves.)

I think the authors did an excellent job creating characters that we can care about, fall in love with, and maybe even get angry with (because some of these guys have some manwhore/assholish tendencies).

I have a feeling I'll love these guys no matter what they do.

I loved all the members of Oblivion...Deacon, Simon, Nick, and the newcomers Jasmine (Jazz) and Grayson (Gray). This book gives us a look, an overview of each of the band members...a little of each person's history and a jumping off point for the rest of the books in this series... which I cannot wait to start.

If you're looking for a new series to start, like I am, I feel safe in recommending the Lost in Oblivion series.

BE WARNED--There is a character list at the end of the book that covers characters across a couple of different series... DON'T READ IT!! Even though there is a fair warning that the list contains spoilers, my dumbass looked anyway and caught one definite big character spoiler right off the bat and a hint at something else that has the potential to be big. Just don't do it... skip the list...read the books...be surprised.

So. Freaking. Good!

Ok, I'm really really late to the show!!! Silly me! I'm not sure why I'm only just starting the Lost in Oblivion series but thank God I started it!!!

Seduced is the prequel to the series. It gives a look at the members of the band, the characters if you will, and some of their back story. All I can say is, I know I'm in for one heck of a ride and if the rest of the series is like Seduced, I may just need a fan to cool me off because it got pretty steamy!!!

Great intro to characters

This book was a great introduction to the characters of the series. It was a little slow to start, but I’m glad I pushed through. I enjoyed how the book is written from the point of view of two of the male band members.

This book has a lot of good reviews, so I had high hopes, but I was just disappointed. The story line itself just felt like it had no substance and there is really nothing to like about Nick and Simon.
