Leap For It

Welcome to the Carnival of Curiosities. When the sun goes down, the things that go bump in the night come out to play.

It is a place of the weird, the wonderful, the pleasurable. Step through the gate and embrace your inner desires.

Covid has come to the Carnival of Curiosities and the Ringmaster has ordered a five day lockdown.

Shanti agrees that the only thing more boring than being locked in your room by yourself, is being tricked into being in lock down with the boy who gives your stomach butterflies.

After silently pining over the resident Frogman for months, will a bit of forced proximity finally make Shanti decide to just leap for it?

sweet froggy romance

Oh sweet Christopher. You naive little frog. I could have done without the Covid storyline but I get it. It just didn't add anything for me other than creating a forced prox situation. This couple was much less experienced and way more shy than the others. It read as if they were younger than the rest of the carnival oddities. It is a slower burn and more focused on the relationship than the spice.

Juvenile relationship beginning

These 2 were cute enough, but the combo of Jr High level maturity about talking about feelings and the borderline trans phobic joke, I had to drop the rating.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: Covid

Yet another wonderful story of these Carnival characters. This time it is about Shanti and her crush on Christopher. And his, on her! ;D

Despite being constantly teased, Shanti is hesitant in approaching Chris. Not that it stops their friends from playfully encouraging them.

With an outbreak of covid, Shanti is tricked into entering his rooms. Then the are forced to stay with each other during the quaranteen period. It had me constantly chuckling as I read while at my son's eye test. Thankfully, I wasn't asked about my humour! :D I loved the shy Chris and how with Shanti's encouragement, he blossomed. It was fun, enjoying each opening up. There was the 🌶🌶🌶 and other couples putting in their 'suggestions' but this pair managed very well.

Now to await the next in this thoroughly, enjoyable series

Shanti and Christopher meet while they both work at the monster carnival. They both have feelings for one other, but Christopher is very shy. When the whole carnival is forced to quarantine because of Coronavirus, their forced proximity causes them to air their feelings for one another. They live happily ever after.

This had potential, but Shanti lost her appeal to me. I liked her when she was awkward and nervous like him, but then suddenly she turned into this vixen-like character?

Her interactions with him and the stuff she said were just cringy. But not in a cute, awkward way because her internal monologue didn’t reflect her feeling nervous. She was confidently saying all these terrible lines.

I just wish she had stayed awkward, lol.

Cute!

“I think I am becoming a bad influence on you,” I tease. “No,” he says, reaching beneath my shirt. “You are a great influence.”* 😏Shanti and Christopher were a perfect match!

I really enjoyed this unique series! The dialogue was a bit stilted, but that’s something that grows with experience. Looking forward to future releases by this author.

Wasn’t my favorite but I like the quarantine style romance and the fact that the FMC was so direct. Also they were both non human which was nice!!!

Well this was certainly a book I read. A monster frog man romance with a dragon lady. It was fine but the writing was so awkward?? Why didn’t she ever use contractions??

I have read a couple of the books in this series, and each one is so adorable, and cute. Rebecca has a way of making you fall in love with the characters from the moment they are on the page. I highly recommend reading this one, and others in this series.

This book does deal with the pandemic, and covid, so if that is an issue for you, you may not want to read this, Now, although this does deal with the pandemic, and some people do get sick NO ONE DIES, and the FMC and MMC do not get sick. I liked that the author touched on this, and how hard it was for those of us who did shelter in place and tried to stay within our little bubbles. I think that with this, it helped the pinning the FMC had, and helped the group get the FMC and MMC together.

Taking a chance by MeemsAngel82

This series so far is one of the most unique ideas out there and that's saying something considering the amount of books there are and the scary amount of books that I read. What can I say, I obviously love reading and am amazed by this series. The couples are so unique and shows love knows no bounds. Everyone is capable of love and it is a beautiful thing.

The feelings she had for him weren't one sided as she had previously thought. Literally stuck in close quarters during the pandemic they discover more about one another as much more than friends.

I would have been so embarrassed so you go girl! You have some guts! I keep saying the same thing but considering that they are both apart of a small group, a family, I wished she and this goes for everyone, had not been together in anyway with anyone else. I'm personally not into sharing unless it's permanent and with one girl to x amount of males. But regardless, their feelings and the joking and friendships found here are wonderful. Such a unique family and special love stories. I would love it if they would all define their relationships formally in their individual stories as well. A very different and sweet, sexy read with a great couple!

This series gets better and better with each introduction. We have Shanti, dragon girl, and Christopher, the Frogman. Christopher is achingly shy and unbeknownst to anyone, in love with Shanti. At the same time, so is Shanti...just not the shy part.

One morning, as always, Shanti is pining for Christopher, who lives next door and she play an online game with who else, Lucas. But this particular day is different, COVID has reared it head and not one but two of the girlfriends of the Attractions are sick and asgitdown has been enforced, to the shagrin of everyone. What is Shanti to do? Does she tell him how she feel? Does she act like nothing is amiss and just remain friends? None of those things can happen, because Roger wnd Sailor trick her in the the Frogman's room..and now she has to stay..ooohh what will happen now.

The Frogman gets his girl, Shanti, in the midst of the Covid epidemic!!!!!

I love that the world around is as challenging and they not only find was to succeed but show that hey are a family and they can get through anything together.

“I think I am becoming a bad influence on you,” I tease.
“No,” he says. “You are a great influence.”

As with this whole awesome series, I enjoyed this book. I liked that Covid was introduced into the story. It was something that effected the whole world, so in a way it kind of made me feel more connected to this one by it being there. They now had to face that battle, too, and quarantined for five days. Christopher and Shanti end up trapped together during the quarantine after Shanti was tricked inside with him and wouldn't be let out. She and Chris were avoiding each other after something happened. Now she had no choice but to face him. As always, it's nice to see the familiar faces pop up. Though sometimes I forget who's who- there are a lot of characters. Looking forward to the next book. 4 stars.

Shanti has a crush on the newbie Christopher at the Carnival. Her best friend Lucas found his mate in other human best friend. But, she is not sure since he is shy and doesn't make any advances towards her. Now, it looks like Covid has made an appearance in the crew. They must quarantine themself. Shanti confides her secret to one of the women and she tells her boyfriend who takes it upon himself to trick her to trap them together since she invaded his personal space. Once she within less than 6 feet apart they must stay quarantined for 5 days to see if they test negative. Will they survive one aother within the 4 days. To get away from their shyness and step closer to being boyfriend and girlfriend?

To understand the whole series it is best to read the previous books. but you could read this as a stand alone you may not fully understand everything. This was not my favorite of the books so far. I did like the characters and the storyline, but it seemed off. The chapters often times just ended. They never truly ended I guess you just use your imagination. The quarantine aspect of this book left little to no interaction with other characters. The main female character is a strong character and I liked how she went slow with the male character. it was a fun read just not my favorite of this series.

I really love that you can read all these as a standalone, but they're more fun if you read in order. There's not a lot of spoilers if you do pick one up without reading the others, just who's with who.

All of these are unique and this one centers around forced proximity due to quarantine. Christopher is shy and not sure what he wants. Shanti has had a crush on Christopher since she met him, so why not shove them together and allow them to get to know each other in person.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

I got into this series partway through. I'm privileged to get free copies of this series through Booksprout, and voluntarily leave reviews. However, I didn't have access to the first few books in the novel. This one seems to back track to the onset of Covid and fills in a love story of two of the residents. I liked the forced proximity of the novel but now I want to go back and reread the others I've already finished.

This story is on the sweet side. It takes place during the beginning of the COVID pandemic which is interesting to think we lived through that! Christopher is so inexperienced and gentle that he truly is a breath of fresh air. I loved catching up with all of the characters and their partners. I look forward to reading more in the series - I just can't get enough!.

The Carnival of Curiosities is under a five-day Covid lockdown with everyone confined to their quarters. Dragonish Shanti (h) keeps hoping that frogman Chrisopher (H) will see her as more than a fellow online gamer, but he doesn’t seem to notice her. Her friends step up and trick her into being locked in Christopher’s room with him and now she must convince him to take his hands off his game controller and put them more personal applications. Sweet monster romance with a slow-burn side of heat.

Always a pleasure

Rebecca Massey is starting to become one of my favorite authors. She weaves such a good story. Even when It's steamy there there isn't anything off putting. It brings lover and caring into it. This story brings in COVID which makes its more relatable. Loved this story. I can't wait for the next one.

Favorite group of cryptids trying to make their way in the world are forced into lockdown when one of them gets sick. Not sure of how the sickness will effect them they are forced to quarantine from one another. Well, most of them are. Shanti and Christopher have to quarantine together which leads to a very sweet forced proximity story.

The was a cute monster romance. Short story with plenty of spice.
Forced proximity - I really felt for the FMC as she was so embarrassed and it was on the borderline of being bullied from the others that she was locked in a room with the MMC. It felt like a very teenager thing to do.
Friends to lovers.
Gamer couple who, both are already members of the carnival of curiosities.
Plenty of firsts , with patience and care taken to explore each other. And as always a happy ending .

I wasn’t sure how I was gonna feel about the story because I’ve never read a monster story with an amphibian…But I should know better because I have loved every single book in this series so far. The tension is so fantastic. I squealed multiple times. These two are so awkward and cute. It is ridiculous. As always, this was well written, and I just love how heartwarming these stories are. I can’t wait for the next one 💖

Shanti and Christopher are so adorable. Christopher is shy and Shanti is normally outspoken. They complement each other so much once they admit their attraction to each other. It gets a little spicy about 2/3 of the story in. Once it’s on, the shyness is gone and f the flirts comes out to play. I’m so happy Shanti finally gets her man.

Covid has arrived at the carnivals doors which forces the residents to lock down, only for Shanti it means being in close quarters with Christopher the one she had been secretly pinning for, since his arrival. Will being in closed quarters bring them closer together? Well written steamy slow burn, frogman, dragon lady romance. A great addition to the series.

This was another strong entry in the Carnival of Curiosities series, it had a great feel going on in this world and had the same charm as the previous nine books. The characters felt like they were suppose to and I loved the Monster romance elements. Rebecca Massey does a fantastic job when writing this.
