Grab your tissues and go on a journey to Bar Harbor , by Amy Rafferty, "The Queen Of Gorgeous Clean Mystery Romance" in her new Secrets In Maine Series. Start a heartwarming mystery family saga set in a charming beach resort town in New England.

''There are different types of love but none of them trump the love you have for your children and grandchildren. That love is stronger and bigger than anything you’ll ever feel as they are extensions of you'' Hope Wright is swept up in a whirlwind summer romance with her brother's best friend, Logan Hall whom she’s secretly had a crush on for years. The days of her first year of summer holidays from college turn into a dream come true for Hope when Logan finally notices her. His parents ask her to help him plan his farewell party, and for the next eight days, she and Logan work closely together while sparking a secret romance.

While those days left Hope walking on air, the day before the party Logan becomes cold and withdrawn. He asks Hope if she'll meet him because he has something to talk to her about!

Hope doesn’t hear from or see Logan again until the night of the party and finds he is with Melissa Shaw, his ex-girlfriend, a teen sensation superstar.
At the party, Hope flees and goes home where she gets an earlier flight back to college in Boston making the decision to heal her wounded heart and be happy again.

Returning home, months later Hope runs into a cold, aloof Logan. Determined to move forward with her new unplanned life she vows never to see him again, especially since he is still with Melissa Shaw.

First Love In Bar Harbor is the prequel in the series about a gorgeous beach town with intriguing quirky characters and their funny animals. If you love authors like Pamela Kelley, Hope Holloway, and Jan Moran along with women's mystery romance fiction with warm and fun-loving characters you’ll fall in love with, this series is for you with all the feels!

Really disappointed in this prequel novella.. so much so I doubt I will read the series.

First, this is labeled as Christian Fiction on Goodreads and while it isn't a trashy book at all, there is nothing to indicate faith plays a role in any part of it and there is one situation that while realistic is viewed as ok.. something that would not be ok to a Christian.

BUT despite that I just hated the writing. Granted this is a novella and there is less time to flush things out, this was so one dimensional and blah. It is as if the author decided to do this as an after thought and released her first draft.

Don't think the remainder of the series will be worth my time.

A taste of things to come
This prequel sets the scene for various characters and how they live. Hope is in college studying catering and event planning.
Logan her brother's friend is to become a Navy Seal, despite his family being heavily involved and known within the music industry.
Melissa is his ex, singer and actress, supposedly engaged to another and wedding imminent, then suddenly it is all over.
Lives are entangled but I feel I have missed something. Logan was all over Hope, and he, her and her friend went out of town and stayed overnight. A phone call the following morning seemed to end their relationship. He is back with Melissa and 9 months later, Hope is giving birth. Who is the father? No suggestion Hope and Logan were sexually active. No indication that he is the father, as the family are engaged with Hope as their caterer. Logan leaves as she is in labour without any consideration to anyone in particular.
What is supposedly going on.. confusing or intriguing.
The author is certainly setting things out for a lot of drama being in the pipeline

I am a HUGE Amy Rafferty fan! This prequel is par for her with well written plot, the characters of Hope and Logan are relatable and my emotions were drawn in. It looks like a dream is finally going to come true for Hope. She and Logan reconnect, she gets a chance to use her newly acquired degree in event planning and for 5he man she has quietly loved most of her life! Then enter his ex and things get murky. Suddenly it is like she has woken up from a dream and reality is upside down! I cannot waut to continue this story! I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

Seems like a great beginning to a new series. Hope finally has a chance to connect with her crush Logan. After Logan shares with his parents he has been accepted into the Navy SEALS program, they insist on planning a going away party. Logan insists they hire Hope as the party planner. Things are progressing great until Logan’s ex Melissa shows up on the scene, breaking her engagement with her finance. I can’t wait to read more to see what happens on the future

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

Fantastic start to a new series!

Amy Rafferty is a brilliant writer and I love all her books. It is impossible to decide which series is her best as they are all fabulous! This prequel is no exception and it will be a fantastic series. I’ve already been drawn into the lives, hopes and heartache of everyone in the story. You’ll love this book and, like me, will be anxious for the series to continue to roll out.

I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.

"Doesn't your grandmother always say,'If you can imagine it, you can do it?' Hope reminded him"

Another summer, another romance.

Amy Rafferty is right up there with the other queens of "beach reads" and this one, with Hope Wright, Marli Rivers and Logan Hall and with this prequel comes the promise of a great summer of reading! Highly Recommended 5/5

[Disclaimer: I recieved this book as a gift from the author and voluntarily read and reviewed it]

Although Hope has always had a secret crush on Logan, one of her brother’s best friends, he has never appeared to notice her except as ‘Chase’s little sister’. During the summer after her first year of college, the situation suddenly changes until she gets some shocking news.
This short prequel leads into Ms Rafferty’s Bar Harbor series which will presumably continue with Hope and Logan’s story. I received a free copy via a Bookfunnel promotion and this is my honest opinion.

Getting to Explore Her Fantasy -
This book may be a prequel, but it had so much going on and set the scene for what to expect in the rest of the series. I really enjoyed reading this romance story filled with passion, drama, secrets and heartbreak, which left me looking forward to reading the next book in the series. This is the first book I have read from this author and it definitely won’t be the last.

I received a copy of this book free and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was really enjoying this book until the night before the party. Logan acts so out of character. I was very surprised the turn this story took. I’m looking forward to Book 1 to see how this family saga develops.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author & I am writing a voluntary honest review.

Great start to new series!

This one from Amy Rafferty blew me away. A faster read, 90 minutes or less, but packed with so much going on. Girl likes boy, girl can never have boy, maybe she can, maybe not.

I can’t wait to see where this series goes and my heart goes out to Hope so much. She deserves a HEA. I had all the feels, and some were mad ones. Men!

Enjoyable read. I didn’t want to put the book down once I started reading. It is a fast paced quick read. Hope has had a crush on her brothers best friend forever and it seems Logan finally noticed her. Unfortunately his ex girlfriend doesn’t want to make things easy! I received a free book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

An enticing start to what I am sure will be another winning series for Amy Rafferty. The excitement and wonder of first love and the crushing disappointment when things go wrong are all perfectly portrayed in this prequel.

Dreams don't always turn out right

A well written story about young love. Life is full of changes and so are not so easy to face. It's best if you can hold your head up and move on in life.

Snagged this free ebook that I didn’t realize was a prequel to a series I’d never heard of. TBH, I was sold by the fact that Bar Harbor was the setting. I was overwhelmed with all the characters and felt confused for the entirety of the story. I look forward to reading the actual series to get the full picture!
