It amazes me how, in fewer than 50 pages, Verity Arden was able to deliver such a spicy tale. It has to have been written by a very horny, very clueless teenage boy. I read a lot of funny stuff. I like to laugh. But I have never laughed so freaking hard at a few pages of erotica in my life. I won't copy and paste here. I'll just direct you to my notes and highlights and leave it at that.

With just under 50 pages & the majority of it being one big continuous sex scene, this is a quick, hot AF, fun book to read. So, if you’re not in the mood for a big story with drama, world building or any real plot, & you enjoy insta love & smut, this is definitely a book to read.

Rebecca and Damien...Rebecca finds out the hard way how messed up her father was, but only after he died. It was a shock to her to know that she was put in danger by his actions, and even more shocking to discover that his ex-business partner was willing to keep her safe. There was a deep attraction that they shared, and their relationship definitely falls into the age-gap category. This is an intense, sexy, and complicated story that is easy to read in an hour or so. It could have been made into a longer story, I’m sure, but I appreciate the brevity, it’s better for my sleep schedule, lol, but it also delivers a powerful punch as an interesting story to read without bogging the reader down with too much extraneous verbiage.

Very fast read. MMC was the BFF/business partner of FMCs late father. FMC had a teenage crush on MMC, but da and MMC had a falling out and went their separate ways when she was 15. Three years later, her father died, leaving the MMC trustee of his will and guardian of her...he also left massive debts that the MMC decided to pay off so she wouldn't have to worry.
From the moment they met up again until the end of the story, the novella was full of spicy scenes that didn't end until the story did.
It was more than a little unrealistic and farfetched but hey, it was a work of fiction after all, right?

So, there is not much plotwise, but the smut is definitely all up and therefore 4 stars worth.

Quick, intense and dirty!!! Just smok’n!! Damien is all consuming and completely obsessed with Rebecca. Despite the age gap, the chemistry between Damien and Rebecca is off the charts. Damien’s new found need to take control is so hot. I wouldn’t call it instalove, more like enlightenment due to their prior platonic history. Damien’s heart is awoken after many years apart but now is completely entranced with the woman Rebecca has become. Absolutely loved the epilogue, great ending to a quick story.

This was a lot of cliches, female orgasms over absolutely nothing, phrases I know for a fact I've read in other books 400 times and too many typos for a novella. Also used 'filthy' in a way that felt illegal.
But I finished it, and there was one sentence that was hot and used my name, so bumped to 2 stars.

Damien sounds perfect and I love we get his thoughts as well as hers. Rebecca has obsessed over him ever since she can remember but the reality is so much better than she'd ever dreamed of. Damien hadn't thought of her in 'that' way but seeing her as an adult in the lawyers office instantly turns his world upside down. He simply must have her.
Daddy isn't my kink but it's not unduly emphasised so is fine.
My only complaint is the story isn't long enough lol.

This was a hot, short read. Rebecca is literally left in debt with her father’s passing, and only an old friend can help.
Damien is ruthless in his pursuit, and Rebecca is quick to succumb. This book had ALL the steam and a very HEA for both characters. It’s only 44 pages, so don’t expect dramatic character arcs or an in-depth world build. This is short, sweet, and dirty: exactly what the dr ordered.

I am a big fan of LV Lane, so when I found out she had a pen name, I had to read this novella, and let me tell you, she did not disappoint at all. It is filthy, and I loved it. She had me at daddy and breeding. I mean, who doesn't love a good breeding novella?!

I love short and steamy stories like this!! They are great for in between long books, at least for me. I love when one has a crush on the other, and then after years the other one finally catches up. And any books with a bit of obsession and breeding are also my jam. I definitely want more from this author!!!
