Turquoise water, rum punch, and fun in the sun. What better way to celebrate 35 years of marriage. Emily and Henry Fox go on an anniversary cruise to the Caribbean expecting nothing less, but when Henry’s old med school buddy turns up dead in his cabin, it’s anything but smooth sailing. The captain chalks it up to an unfortunate accident but Emily and Henry know better. The deadly tarantula didn’t crawl from the Puerto Rican rainforest to the ship on its own furry legs. With the help of a retired detective, they search for the killer. Why did the victim and his wife have separate cabins? Who is the elusive girl in the fuchsia bikini? Was cheating at the casino the motive for murder? When crew members turn up missing and dead, the Foxes discover the ship itself is harboring secrets deeper than the sea. Secrets worthy of murder.

This is the eleventh installment of the Sugarbury Falls Mystery series. Emily and Henry Fox are on a cruise celebrating their 35th anniversary. Henry runs across a friend from medical school while on deck.

Emily has some choices to make about balancing her work life as a writer and home life. Also, Henry and she are involved in trying to find Anson’s killer.

I figured out Jas and Anson’s secret very early on. I was surprised it took everyone else forever.
I liked the premise of the book. The method of killing was different. Without saying anything else about the murder, it was kind of Vincent Price-ish. Bodies are dropping and when will they figure it out? Plenty of lives changed forever.

It was nice to get of Vermont but based on this book, I wouldn’t be booking a Carribean cruise in my near future. The weather can be screwy and dangerous.

Intriguing. There was so much going on, and it took so many different paths. I figured the villain early on, but I couldn't confirm my suspicion! And as other possibilities came and went I was able to verify. Fun run! The entire voyage was interesting and it really kept the reader guessing!

Good book

I usually don't read cozy mysteries but I needed a change. I'm glad I picked this book. The characters were great. I needed a new series to begin. I will stay with this series now.

The Stormy Course

Good storyline, but the characters were a little too much in this book. The main character was a little nosy and whiny at times. Build up was amazing, I never would've guess who the ringleaders were. Best part of the book!

Emily and Hank are on an anniversary cruise for their 35th anniversary when they meet one of Hanks old friends from medical school, Anson and his wife, Shelby. Emily and Hank meet some nice people including an older couple who does a lot of traveling and a retired detective, Jean Louis. All is going as it was supposed to until Shelby finds her husband Anson dead in his own stateroom. He is bitten by a tarantula. The Captain chalks it off as an accident and doesn't look into it. BUT...How strange - how did the spider get onto the ship? With Hank and Emily sure it was murder and with their new detective friend, they go full steam ahead with investigating Anson's death. With a couple of more deaths things are going from bad to worse. Who is doing these killings? It has to be someone on the ship. The author gives us so many subplots that are surprisingly pulled together in the surprise ending! I loved this book and you will too. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Great book!!!!

I love this series!!!!
When Henry and Emily are on an anniversary cruise, they meet some very interesting people.
It starts with a dinner couple at their table having marriage problems and it gets worse when the husband gets into a fight at the casino.
A mysterious girl keeps watching the husband throughout the day, then that evening she is seen talking to him. That is the beginning of the rest of the mystery of people disappearing.
Emily and Henry are consoles the man's wife and she asked to help find out what has happened to him. And things start really get bad, and lots of suspects to sift through.
With the help of a retired homicide detective that knows the chef gone missing also.
Now you have to read this book to find out all the things I didn't tell you. You won't be disappointed!!!!

An amazing short story that has as much power as a longer book. Emil and Harry finally go on a cruise to celebrate their anniversary and it’s anything but fun. A dead body in their cabin spells trouble. They ask for help in solving the case. Will the truth come out. Loved it.
