Rick and Morty face a foe unlike any they've seen before. Well, it's basically Jerry, but he's huge, fast, vicious, and... naked? Rick has the perfect a giant mech fighting robot, perfectly designed and calibrated to take on the Jiant horde—but it needs a puny, socially isolated, 14-year-old pilot. Oh, we've got one! Summer, Morty, and his charming new friend Rowan navigate this violent post-apocalyptic world, where they still have to go to high school and Rick seems oddly invested in upgrading the mech with stylish new features.

‘Rick and Morty: The Manga, Vol. 1: Get in the Robot, Morty!’ cleverly adapts the irreverent humour and wild adventures of the original series into the manga format, introducing a thrilling storyline where Morty pilots a giant robot reminiscent of 'Mobile Suit Gundam' to combat colossal adversaries similar to 'Attack on Titan's giants. The transition to manga preserves the essence of the characters and their quirky mannerisms, making it a delightful read for fans and newcomers alike who enjoy a blend of science fiction and humour with a unique twist.
(Pretty sure I bought this and won't bad mouth it too much bc the guyver ref the mecha has and my subconscious loves that) Idk if it feels much like a rick and morty kinda thing..(true I haven't kept up with the show in a long time but I know theres infinite other realities so there's that) idk I... liked it? The mishmash of different animes thrown in here to make a hella messed up storyline.. eh im interested to see were it goes i guess. (I saw it was done by the woman that made weeaboo and thought "why not?") the art isn't that great I mean most of it im okay with and can accept BUT THE HANDS THE HANDS ARE THE WORST PART. I HATE LOOKING AT THOSE FREAKISH KNUCKLES URGH!!
The unholy offspring of Neon Genesis Evangelion, Attack on Titan, and of course, Rick and Morty. A bizarre little What If story on the possibility of rampaging, mindless giant Jerrys and Rick wanting to profit off of it by having his giant robot's likeness turned into toys. As is typical, Rick is an unredeemable & horrible person, Morty is a doormat & his suffering is most of the comedy, Summer is (predictably) not relevant to the story really, and the end is vague enough to make you wonder if it's really a happy ending. The art style is...not great. What. is wrong. with their KNUCKLES?! The insistence on keeping the source material's mouth style is also off-putting but does make it somewhat unique. And call me basic AF, but I really dug the giant robot's design. Like a weird fusion of Tekkaman, Guyver, and an EVA, it really did look toyetic as heck! 10/10 would buy, especially in its final form!
The story is a riff off of Neon Genesis Evangelion, which I think is how it caught and held my interest – the Rick and Morty dynamic is fertile ground for a retelling of Eva. Art wasn't great though, felt unfinished? Took a little over an hour to read. Definitely wouldn't purchase but I was able to read through NetGalley. I'd read another volume of this.
The art is terrible and I should have expected it to be this stupid but oh boy that was painful. I was a fan of the first three seasons of this show and I thought I would be able to enjoy this but it has just become impossible for me to get enjoyment out of this property.
It was ok. I didn’t fall in love with it but I didn’t hate it either. I read it, I enjoyed some moments. I would read more of them if there are more, but I am not going to rush out to go buy it. The characters are similar to the show but obviously not in style. I felt like I was missing some pieces to the story before I started which made me feel like I was playing catch-up the entire time.
This was every but as silly as I expected it to be. Didn't make sense, just had to run with it silliness. But why, why this art style? The show is already a cartoon, just keep it the same
This was fine. I didn't hate nor love my time reading this but I don't love the art style it's just not for me. If it were in the original art style I may have enjoyed it more.
It’s not terrible, but it wasn’t great. It’s a quick and easy read, but some of the art style gets a little convoluted. The story had decent twists and some funny moments in it. I enjoyed it overall, but its fluidity and action shots were lackluster to me.
