We all know the story but the book adds so much more. There are scenes in here that are often cut out of the many rehashes of this story. The children clinging to Christmas Present for compassion, the ghost visiting miners and lonely sea captains at sea and even the scenes involving the nephew are all sacrificed for various reasons and they add so much to the book. The spirit's response means that he does not take responsibility for the laws. He's saying that humans created those laws in the spirit's name, among other things humans do in the name of religion, but they do so without the spirit's approval, and that this behavior is strange to the spirit.(less)
Tyla there isnt any swearing or 18+ scenes and it is a really nice story promoting Christmas joy. I think it will be a lovely story for children of 3 and 5
