Ubisoft is going hard on its shooters at the moment. Even as it brings the Assassin's Creed series into the future and still tries to put Skull & Bones out to no avail, there's a lot of focus going to XDefiant.

The Call of Duty rival is currently in beta and shows that Ubisoft might just have the chance to take on the big dogs in a free-to-play, if less refined, Call of Duty riff.

But, as one Ubisoft shooter clambers onto the ladder, it seems like another falls off. Bad news for fans of The Division.

The Division Heartland looks like it'll be delayed

Though fans have been waiting patiently for Heartland as a free-to-play spin-off from The Division, it looks like there's more waiting to be done.

The closed test for the game has been ongoing for over a year now, and even though the devs are gearing up for a new round of testing, that's not necessarily a positive. As Ubisoft promises there will be "more news this summer," it's got us worried for The Division Heartland. 

This is a pretty big shame for fans who haven't been able to access testing and have been hoping for the game to come around soon-ish - but it looks like there's more work to be done. Sorry, fans of The Division, hold fast.

Heartland has plenty of promise, taking you to a rural America setting instead of the franchise's usual city-based combat. Taking up the role of a Division agent trying to save this sleepy town from rogue agents, this "survival action PVEVP shooter" has you fight other players and AI factions. 

There's more of The Divison to come

Thankfully, though, there isn't a total drought of content when it comes to The Division, as we've finally got word on Year 5 of The Division 2's content rollout.

A New game mode called Descent, a roguelite mode and a rebuilt version of Castle are all set to debut in the game in June, meaning that we're not left entirely in the cold waiting for Heartland.

Plus, the coming days are set to introduce a costume inspired by Resident Evil 4's Leon S. Kennedy for those who have purchased the first of Year 5's premium passes - so jump to it if you'd rather be shooting European villagers than fellow players.
