With Zombies making a massive comeback in Black Ops 6, the fans of the undead mode are gearing up for some of the best round-based action that we've ever had.
Terminus Island is being built as the ideal Easter egg-heavy map that will be a joy for the die-hard community, while Liberty Falls appears to have more Warzone-ifications that will be tailored for the newer players.
Despite already having two maps announced, and a third one being lined up for before Christmas, fans are now calling for a previously overlooked game mode to make return in Black Ops 6.
Black Ops 6 Zombies fans want Onslaught back
Onslaught was a Cold War game mode that, for the most part, was exclusive to PlayStation users in the deal that has recently expired.
It pitted Zombies against the player on multiplayer maps, such as Miami (it worked better for Zombies than it did for MP), and was cut in a similar vein as Outbreak.
With some of the larger maps on Black Ops 6 having a lot of open space, such as Rewind and Scud, players are now claiming that Onslaught would be a welcomed return.
Commenting on a post that claimed Black Ops 6 "needs" Onslaught, fans have backed the idea. "That was my initial thought whilst playing on the beta maps," said one player. "Those maps are PERFECT onslaught maps, like, they'd be better maps than the ones they had in cold war, and onslaught gave so much XP it was crazy."
Another added, "The more modes, the better. It helped keep CW Zombies content fresh with a new way to play. I wouldn’t mind it if BO6 brought it back."
Leaks have already 'confirmed' that modes like Grief are coming to Zombies, so why not even more modes to keep the undead alive post-launch?
Given that Onslaught might have only ever reached the PlayStation community, Black Ops 6 might be as good a time as any to revisit the mode and share its quirks with the entire Call of Duty fan base.
