I am also one of these very lucky people who have the opportunity to view and learn from his "real" street photography.His everday scenes photography has something special, which makes him so distinguished. He is the silently wandering witness of the streets, and he does this by having something to say in his excellent compositions. To sum up, his photography is a form of magic, which captures a moment of life and carries it forward into the future. His photos are his signature, which reflects his aesthetic sensitivity. His work is recognizable at very first glance by his very high quality photos. He is a real must to see here, or you'll miss a lot.

Simply stated, Rui Palha is one of the very few first-class photographers to be found on Flickr. There are several reasons for me to believe so. Some - such as the consistent adoption of the BN language, or the pivotal role that the human figure has in his images - are likely to be influenced by my own view of photography. Others, are more objective: the firm balance with which all elements in the picture are connected to each other, the way light is brought to bear to determine the meaning of the image, and, above all, the presence of a few, strong themes that tie together all his photographs. In particular, it is indeed amazing how the rain theme, in all its declinations, manages to convey a feeling of deep humanity.

Non passa giorno in cui io non senta il bisogno di passare a far visita a questo fotografo meraviglioso. Le sue immagini sono racconti di vita unici e irripetibili, narrati delicatamente da un grande maestro della luce e della composizione, rigorosamente espressi in un "coloratissimo" bianco e nero. Rui è un uomo che rispetta e ama la strada e la gente, e che dalla stessa gente è a sua volta amato e rispettato. Rui Palha’s images turn what would normally constitute as simple, into a dazzling representation of a clandestine reality. A common every day activity or face become a beautiful work of art in his portraits. A photographer’s eye is often referred as the main tool behind the creation of his/her image, in Rui’s case I believe his heart is also a source of inspiration. He is one of my favourite photographers of all time. As strong as these words may appear for a flickr testimonial, it is very much true. His style and composition continue to amaze me. Whenever a new picture is posted, it is an absolute joy for me to see.

Even if his subjects are the cobblestone streets on which he roams there is still a tremendous sensitivity there that only he can coax out and capture.
