The protagonists are the two best players on a primary school's hockey team: David Válek, whose balanced performance on the ice is missing a balanced family life at home, and team captain Petr Gazdoš, who's the exact opposite – he's got everything in life, which weakens him as a team player. Coach Tomek, of course, tries to teach his wards, their parents and teachers that fair play and a sporting spirit are both needed, as only perfect harmony leads to victory... (Zlín Film Festival)

inglês When compared to the older Czech film The Goalkeeper Also Lives on Our Street, the kids in Little Ice-Hockey Player seem like little sticks-in-the-mud. They may be older, but in the grey of the normalization style, which is decorated only with an etude with Hanka Maciuchová or Ladislav Mrkvička here and there, it is perhaps not even worth it.
