In medieval Europe, crusading knights massacre a village full of suspected devil worshippers and build a large gothic church above the cursed remains. It is now present day, and this elaborate cathedral still stands. But when its sealed crypt is accidentally reopened, a group of people trapped inside the church become possessed by the fury of the damned. Can the blood of the innocent survive this unholy communion, or will the ultimate demonic evil be unleashed upon the world? (texto oficial do distribuidor)

inglês The Church is a peculiar film that I think is somewhat underrated. It's an above-average horror flick with an intriguing plot development, but some scenes will easily stick in your memory – for instance, the copulation with the demon is unexpected and therefore evokes the right, eerie impression in you. The screenplay has its shortcomings, with empty spaces and peculiar characters, but it's still a horror that manages to scare and impress. ()

inglês I’m not thrilled this time, The Church was only (slightly above) average. I liked several of the atmospheric scenes, but they occur quite randomly and the scary atmosphere never manages to cover the entire film. I also like the pretty original deaths, as well as the music, which in some places was great. Unlike others, though, I didn’t like at all the first part set in the Middle Ages, I’m not a fan of historical horror and wished it would end after 10 minutes. I can’t say I got bored, but the film never managed to capture my attention. 60% ()
