inglês Robert De Niro got a small role where he was forced to return to his gangster film roots, delivering lines that seem genuinely stupid. They are. One might think that Oscar-winning actors like Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker would choose their films better, but who hasn’t dipped their toes into murky waters at least once? This didn’t work out for them, but we can still say they wanted to give a chance to lesser-known people who could make a name for themselves in the film industry thanks to their names. However, I’d like to express a small wish that director Jessy Terrero and L. Philippe Casseus would abandon this film and focus on something else. The film sinks right from the beginning due to its script. There are interesting characters that are not developed at all, lacking any growth. Perhaps there’s something hinted at in the character played by 50 Cent, but that’s about it. Casseus must have written the dialogues in the dark, and they were likely corrected by his younger daughter, if he has one. Perhaps it was a neighbor’s child, and he didn’t read it over afterward. The viewer is thus subjected to an hour and a half of incredibly clichéd dialogue and scenes that are anything but pleasant. Freelancers is a film that lacks tension, attempts to shock where it’s unnecessary, and fails in the action because the shots hit places that guns usually don’t aim for. I think 50 Cent wanted to act in something where he would have a bit more space. He got it, and it’s evident that something is happening with him. However, the ending is once again a letdown. De Niro and Whitaker don’t perform poorly, but why would they try when this has been wrong from the start? ()
