inglês It is very interesting to see how important the concept of a family is for the Muslims. This concept goes beyond the line and thus creates stories that are very horrible and sad, as this film was trying to tell. The whole time I wished for a better life for Umay. And the whole time I felt it was getting worse and worse. The finale knocked me down completely. I cannot describe it, you have to live through the two hours. It is apparent that a Muslim family is so irrational and complicated process, that I was glad I am not a part of it. ()

inglês Long time no movie has made me cry so much. Masterfully directed, masterfully acted. For two whole hours, I felt a sense of oppression and a ominous premonition of what awaits Umay and how much she will have to suffer because she wanted to make a free choice. Sibel Kekilli is getting prettier and more convincing as an actress. She could put herself into this role a hundred percent, as she also went through similar experiences with her family and could fully project her negative experiences onto Umay. I hope that in Germany no one reminds her of her pornographic past, which was allegedly also a rebellion against her stubborn family. Sibel is simply a great actress and I am really looking forward to her next films. But maybe she could use a comedy as well. ()
