The genre of horror is incorrectly shining on Max, but Hartnett's Past definitely isn't. On the contrary, I was surprised by the oppressive thriller atmosphere of the movie, and over time, I thought that M. Night Shyamalan had once again found his position, where he will start entertaining viewers again, and he started with his cameo in the movie (which is like a reference to the fact that he only puts cameos in his good films). And I had a great time, and I was thrilled to see Josh Hartnet in the lead role again, whose backstory was revealed to me, but one quickly learns the point from the movie itself. Moreover, it is properly demonic and undoubtedly, upon his return to acting, he went in for it to try something different and surprise the viewers against his type. But for me, he will always be more of a good guy. Go boldly into it. PS: The young daughter is quite a nuisance. Nothing against nepotism.

The new adaptation of The Crow was getting hate from all sides and it is no surprise that I will once again stand up for the weaker ones. In many other films, I have suffered outright and Bill Skarsgård managed to keep my attention until the end, so to say. Rather than quality, I would say that the new mess from Lionsgate studio suffers from its ordinariness and genericality, not standing out in any way and just stupidly spills blood in various parts of Prague. Rupert Sanders clearly did not want to emphasize anything on the cultic cursed adaptation (he couldn't win), but at the beginning, no one probably expected the extent of the financial disaster it would be. It's a pity, but hopefully it will make the creator reach for even more, so far unadapted, material for film.

Weaker than the first season, which has a lower rating just because fewer viewers lasted until the second season. Traditionally, the whole viewing experience took me more than a year, partly because this time there were even more plotlines that didn't interest me much and they quite spoiled the overall experience (especially the one with the Native American shaman). However, Lee Pace is still the star of the series, and I'm curious if they will really step on the gas in the third season again. Considering the deaths of many characters at the end of the series, we will probably encounter completely new plotlines.

And so was born a legend of peak TV, which has been winning Emmy awards for a few nice years. For now, I am a bit reserved, but I am curious about what the future holds.

Ever since Karlovy Vary [International Film] Festival I have been eagerly awaiting whether Substance is just a bloated bubble, or a gem that will emerge as a cult favorite. I wouldn't be surprised by the latter option. It really is quite an original body-horror film, reminiscent of Cronenberg, featuring two exceptional women, I don't know which one to praise first. Both certainly deserve credit for the courage with which they bare themselves in front of the camera, and the director abundantly and lasciviously captures them. I wish Demi Moore luck for reappearing in a significant role after years, and if she isn't using cryotherapy with Tom Cruise, I really don't know how she does it (although I wouldn't want to meet her in her final form 😄). However, it's not just about the performances; primarily, it's a very atmospheric thriller that passes by effortlessly in its 140 minutes, leaving something in you after it ends. So, surrender to it despite the abstract conclusion.

Legendary sitcom that I binge-watch over and over again.

I fully understand that cult and why the creators of Black Witch destroyed cinemas in America back then, but from today's perspective, the mystery is missing, and unfortunately, I was terribly bored without it. I appreciate what a few people with a camera were able to do back then and actually created a new genre - found footage, which they exploited several times and cleverly marketed... and also got richly rewarded for it, rightfully so.

Despite the hate on the internet that The Witcher is gathering along with The Rings of Power, perhaps the most in history, I must admit that even though I finished the season more than a year after the premiere as a non-fan of the source material, I quite enjoyed it, and the one-on-one battles have noticeably improved in my opinion, along with the visual side of things being the best part of the series. And also the farewell to Henry Cavill, whose replacement I fear just like the rest of the world. We'll see how it goes in the fourth season; many will watch one episode and then the viewership will sharply decline. But thanks to Henry for accompanying us in difficult times.

I have a complicated relationship with the first one and I didn't expect it to change with the second one, but according to a few people I trust, the second one was supposed to be better than the first. To some extent, I can agree with that. Burton certainly happily returned to his era of eternal glory and iconic stylization, and I was surprised that he still uses his age-old methods here, and it doesn't harm the result in any way. Michael Keaton, although in his seventies, does not shy away from strange creations or ugly materials that he is stained with, and it is really true that without him, the sequel would make no sense at all. The film makes interesting money, so in three years we will have a threequel, where hopefully Beetlejuice will truly be heard three times. And if the rising star Jenna Ortega is involved, then why not.

The first Hole surprisingly got me quite a bit at the time, even though it had its flaws. With the sequel, I enjoyed about half of the movie, mainly thanks to the strong atmosphere, but the other half was quite boring and all those killings felt like copied and couldn't hold my attention. In this case, I would even believe that the creators really wanted to come up with a quality sequel and didn't just let themselves be paid a hefty check for success, but unfortunately they didn't score with me and I would definitely brake at three... although this concept may seem inexhaustible, similar to Saw. However, I got bored already at the second one, and there's also a 5-year gap.
