Pino Donaggio

Born in Venice in 1941, into a family of musicians, when he was very young he studied violin at prestigious conservatories in Venice and Milan. Later on he would give up the classical option to opt for pop and in 1973 he composed his first soundtrack for the film Don’t Look Now, by Nicolas Roeg. Soon afterwards he began his fruitful collaboration with Brian De Palma, for whom he wrote scores for Carrie (1976), Dressed to Kill (1980) and Passion (2012), among others. He has also worked with Joe Dante – Piranha (1978), The Howling (1981) – and Dario Argento – Trauma (1993), Do you like Hitchcock? (2005) –.
