Believe it or not, it is still possible to make a great comedy about a group of nerds wanting to "get lucky." In this case, though, the story revolves around Brits, who have just as many sexual problems. However, as shown in this comedy, they are capable of addressing their issues in a funnier and more vulgar way, meaning that if you enjoy crude humor, you will have a good time. Even those who aren’t fans of such humor will find themselves entertained. The film goes quite far. A barely twenty-year-old young man gets intimate with a woman who is around sixty and is wearing about as much as Borat does at the beach; there’s a turd lying in a bidet, presented in a frontal shot, making you feel awkward and disgusted. But if you’re not a prude, you will have an incredibly fun time with those idiots. Give it a chance, send the kids to their rooms, and enjoy the entertainment that will surprise you. However, I must warn you, as at times the humor is indeed quite crude, but because it’s from Britain, you realize that toilet jokes still have a chance to succeed and that nerds are the heroes of today. It’s not just The Big Bang Theory, but also the series The Inbetweeners, to which this film is a sequel. For me, it’s definitely a thumbs up. Awkwardness can still be funny! ()
There are few sub-genres that I hate as much as vulgar teenage comedies, but I surprisingly enjoyed this one. All of the inbetweeners were likeable and I had more fun than I expected. It has charm, it’s funny and it’s nicely self-deprecating… to relax, why not. ()
I wondered if the concept that worked so bombastically in the series would translate to film. The central foursome here is just as (sometimes perhaps more) moronic, desperate, ultra-desperate, and still endlessly entertaining. Sure, these knuckleheads are a tragedy, losers, and God knows what else, but that can in no way trump the fact that they're terrifically likable and you can sympathize with them even (sometimes) in their foolishness – especially when they can be genuinely royally entertaining. An utterly unflinching, unapologetic, and brutally vulgar summer comedy that must be a dream come true for die-hard fans of the show. Just a proper British massacre, as it should be. ()
I mostly went to see this movie because I saw the word “comedy” and I needed to relax. I had no clue that it was a sequel to a fairly successful TV show. Maybe that’s exactly why those four boys ticked me off. Well, downright pissed me off. But as time went on, everything they were doing started actually being funny. I even had a good laugh at times. I don’t know if I ever watch this movie again by choice, but if it’s on TV, I’ll let it play. Oh, and I’d love to watch the show some day, for sure… ()
We watched this crazy bullshit at school and I was ashamed of myself for watching it too. What bothered me about it? Everything. Completely unsympathetic actors, tasteless, vulgar humor, incomprehensibly awkward dialogues, let's not even talk about the story. It didn't have an original joke, just shit that someone made up. But maybe someone likes this. But I don't see any sense in it. I unnecessarily wasted 93 minutes of my life on this disgrace without a thought. I really wonder how anyone could even give this five stars. I have nothing more to say about it. ()
