Głównym bohaterem jest Geralt z Ryvii – wiedźmin, który przez skomplikowany proces przemian i mutacji został przygotowany do zabijania potworów zagrażających ludziom – potworów powodowanych żądzą zabijania bądź magią. Przeciwnicy wiedźminów to strzygi, wilkołaki, wampiry, bazyliszki i inne stwory. (TVP)

Tut, tut, tut, screenwriter - you didn’t even take the slightest glance at Sapkowski’s original, did you? The series is better than the movie adaptation in that it isn’t such a mishmash. A couple of well-made scenes, Zebrowski in the main role and the music are the up-sides of this. And the downsides? Well, everything else. Just amazingly bad. ()
A series during which I always looked forward to the next episode. The biggest pros are Michał Żebrowski (why the hell isn't he in Hollywood yet?), great music and tastefully chosen exteriors. The story was really good in the first parts and I had nothing to complain about (I still remember the amazingly atmospheric part with the devil in the field) - but then the Poles started to run out of breath, which they corrected only in the last two parts. Additionally: It has a magically mystical touch, and Sapkowski will also be recognized by readers of the book, but it's just that... It could have been even better. Three and a half rounded up thanks to Yennefer. ()
I can only review the series, but I didn't last longer than eight episodes with it. Undoubtedly, in the history of film and television, there are much weaker works in the fantasy genre. However, compared to Sapkowski's excellent literary source, the result is quite awkward. The weaker screenplay, which also differs from the books in many ways, the uneven acting performances, and a noticeably lower budget couldn't be saved by Michal Zebrowski, who was a good casting choice for the role (and possesses a very decent acting range), or by the several Polish acting aces who appeared in minor roles. From such strong source material, a much better spectacle could have emerged and a much greater mystique could have emanated from it. Overall impression: 35%. ()
