Volt egyszer egy család

This film describes the narrator's childhood, the years before and after the Hungarian Soviet Republic, in a burlesque and fabulous style and with the humour of a child's fantasy. A middle-class intellectual family headed by a good-hearted humanist editor and an infantile but clever Mother, prepare to emigrate to Vienna, but do not get farther than Sopron, to the mansion of the hot-blooded brother-in-law. Uncle Viktor's bloody hunters' training turns Father against him and the family suddenly returns home.
