Patrick's Day

Patrick suffers from schizophrenia and his life, governed by medication and rules, consists mostly of interaction with his overly protective mother. Everything changes when Patrick is seduced by an unsuspecting woman. His "pure soul" immediately falls in love and longs for a change. With subjective camera angles and soft focus compositions, McMahon explores the ambiguous contours of a complicated topic. The film poses questions regarding manipulation, a strategy used by Patrick's mother whose selfish love is rather counterproductive. (Febiofest)
