I'd never seen this silent version before, so I was quite curious to learn how it turned out. I must admit that this first episode, which is around half an hour long, was made well by Karel Lamač. The jokes are there, even though most of them are primarily delivered in intertitles. Karel Noll was born for the role. (27/12/2014)
