The year is 1984 and it is approaching Christmas in the municipality of Inare in Lapland. The 28-year-old single mother Niina breaks the window of the local newspaper's editorial office and ends up working for them to cover the costs. Being a local reporter in the cold and northernmost part of Finland does not offer much excitement, but one day the Soviet Union fires a missile over the Finnish border, which lands in the ice where they live. Suddenly this Finnish village is thrown into an international missile crisis. In addition, Niina meets a fighter pilot, who has knowledge of this mysterious missile, and who can spark some romance in this turbulent period. The Missile is a drama-comedy in which both Niina's and the nation's limits are pushed to the limit. (The Norwegian International Film Festival)
