Every Wednesday

One night István, coming from a turbulent family background, breaks into a food-store, breaking and destroying everything. He is taken into a reformatory school. Later he works in a cleaning brigade and by accident meets Draskóczi József, the man who originally gave him up to the police. Draskóczi lives in a troubled atmosphere with his infertile daughter and cynical son-in-law, clinging ascetically to the communist faith of his youth. He feels responsible for István's fate and offers him human warmth and loving kindness. Defying the hysterical jealousy of his daughter he utilises his contacts to first send him to school and then to help him to an apartment.
